Samsung galaxy tab E 9.6" bricked after full wipe - Samsung Galaxy Tab E Questions & Answers

Dear all,
Things went wrong when I tried to flash Magisk on an already rooted Samsung Galaxy Tab E using TWRP. After this failed, booting the tablet got stuck on the samsung logo. I could still enter recovery mode, however, and did a full wipe. T
he wipe completed succesfully, but now the power button on the phone does nothing. Power + volume up or down doesn't work either, Odin and Android Studio don't recognize it.. It even doesn't show a sign of charging when I plug it in (I tried multiple chargers of course..).
I haven't got a clue as to what more I can try. I am positive that this is a software issue, so I'm reluctant to open the device up, but any suggestions or help is very welcome.

I'm having the same exact issue and have had this tablet rooted with custom roms from Lineage 13 & 14 and Magisk and even ported Nethunter myself for it not too long ago. My situation was i did a restore from Lineage 13 back to Lineage 14 and it succesfully restored and booted perfectly fine. I was even careful enough to be sure it rebooted to home screen and opened a couple apps to make sure everything was cool and it was. Well I then shut the tablet down and put it on charge and left it a couple hours to charge up, I went to turn it on and absolutely nothing but black even after pressing volume down, home, and power button and also tried booting with volume up, home, and power button all to no avail. I also noticed if i plug it back in to charge it doesn't even show the battery charging icon or anything...... just black thats it. O, and it seems to be getting above what we would call normal heat where the charger cord plugs into the device which is also new. I been messing with Android quite a long while fellas and im stumped and it really sucks cuz I am the only person I know besides you awesome geniuses here on XDA, that knows what to do in these situations. Has anyone else had this problem and fixed it or know a solution maybe? Any and all help would be very deeply appreciated and I'd even pay someone like 20$ bucks if I absolutely had to if it will fix my tablet! Thanks fellas!!

Sprint S4 wont boot up, in any mode

I was headed home today and my Sprint Galaxy S4 shutoff. It would not come back on, so i removed the battery. When i reinsert the battery, my phone does a quick vibrate, then the white Samsung Galaxy S4 logo screen appears, then disappears, then thats it. Nothing else happens. I have tried different chargers, a different battery, tried download and recovery mode. Nothing has worked so far to get me any further. When i try to go into recovery, blue writing shows in the top left that says Booting Recovery, then it shuts off and nothing else happens. When i plug into a computer, the phone does not connect to the computer.
I am usually pretty good with anything to do with a phone, but this has me stumped.
I have not downloaded any new apps or any different roms or kernels anytime recently. My phone is rooted but still on the stock rom. This phone was rooted about a year ago when i got it, and as far as roms or programming or anthing, nothing has been done to it since then.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Ok so i was wrong, the phone will boot into download mode, but only for about 2 secs, then it goes blank and off again. So it seems like some sort of power issue with the phone itself, as in hardware. Not sure that there is too much that i can do about that, but does anyone have any ideas?
I just read something on here about Samsung having a bad batch of batteries. If I were you I would take my battery to someone that could test it to see if it is holding a charge.
Had the same issue. The dude at sprint said it was a bad update that went out but not sure how true that is due to the fact that i was running a custom rom and recovery. I was running clockword mod recovery and latest CM11 nightly. If you have the insurance I'd say bring it back and they should replace it.
Any fix?
I have just been experiencing this problem as well. My s4 was working fine then all of the sudden the power button would become very sensitive and would think I would want to turn the phone off. I would click the back arrow but the phone would still either turn itself off or reboot. Then it got worse and would get stuck in bootloops. Now I have to reinsert the battery every time for it to turn on. It gets to the samsung logo and then shuts off. I can get into recovery for about 2 seconds and then it shuts off as well. My s4 is not rooted at all. Can someone please help me? I really don't want to pay at least 70 dollars for samsung just to look at it.:crying:

[Q] Galaxy S4 hardbrick

Hey,
This is my first time posting here and really using the site. I have the Sprint Galaxy S4 and just updated to the SlimKat official build 7 and had no initial problems. A day later it starts to reboot constantly and would stay on for a couple minutes. Now it is stuck in a bootloop and will shut off even when going into download or recovery mode. When plugged into a computer the computer won't even recognize the phone and the phone will not turn on. The only time the phone will even start to boot is when it is not plugged into wall/computer and on battery. I have no idea what to do now.
That's a tough one. Usually with a soft brick, if you can make it to recovery, your phone can be saved but since you can't... I hope you get it working!

Go to sprint galaxy s4 thread. All answers there. You need Odin 3.09 then stock ng2 tar. To flash through computer.

I already have odin and the tar files for stock. When plugged into my computer it will not even register that it is connected and so I can't use odin to flash it.
The same thing is happening to me. I get to the Galaxy S4 splash screen, then it shuts off. Even if I try to boot into recovery
I'm going to pile on in here as I seem to be having a similar issue. I had my S4 (not rooted, stock rom) on my dock streaming google music. A phone call came in and the phone started vibrating like crazy and wouldn't stop. The screen shut off and the phone was still vibrating. Finally it stopped and was shut off. When I try to start it a few things happens. It will sometimes boot to my lock screen and the screen goes black and I think it is powered off. Sometimes it will get past the lock screen and then die shortly after. After like 2 or 3 times of that it won't even boot. It loads the Samsung screen but never gets to the Sprint screen or boots. If I leave it for some time shut off with battery out it will go back to booting to the lock screen then dying etc... When I press the buttons to get into recovery it says recovery is loading and then the screen goes black. I swapped batteries and that didn't do anything. I tried pressing the menu button or the home button to try and boot safe mode and it just loads normally not that I think that would help anyway.
Any ideas on things I can try next? What is this odin thing? Would that work for me?
---------- Post added at 07:09 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:16 PM ----------
Ok... I can get into recovery now and will try a factory reset. Are you sure you are going into recovery correctly. Apparently I was not. Hold volume up power and menu button and when the phone vibrates let go of power only.
Before I do a hard wipe is there any way to get data off the internal memory from recovery mode?
So I got a custom recovery installed, reinstalled stock rom, things worked ok for awhile. Then it started random reboots every 10 mins or so. Now it is back to instant crashing and rebooting. Any idea what could be the issue? I'm assuming at this point it is hardware related. Why can recovery and download mode run consistently without crashing but when an os is fired up it has issues? If it was a hardware issue shouldn't it not work across the board?
So I had Sprint replace my phone on the 8th. I have been using my same batteries (1 stock 1 Anker) and chargers (some stock some not) without issue the past 5 days. I rooted and installed xposed and some modules (original broken phone was never rooted and was completely stock). Things were going great until tonight when it started reboot looping exactly like the old phone. I switched battery and same proble. After I took the battery out and left it out awhile it fired back up but I'm afraid the problem will return. Is it possible that the battery or charger randomly are causing damage to the phone? I only have 14 day warranty on this replacement and need to figure this out.
So things were going well for awhile and then the reboot loops started up again. I did some digging and read that apparently Samsung phones are notorious for sticking power buttons and the symptoms were exactly what I was experiencing. I watched some videos online how to open the phone and clean out the power button but it didn't make a difference. I then read that squeezing the connector for the power button with a pair of pliers sometimes does the trick. Not for me. So finally since I'm not under warranty, have no insurance, and the phone wasn't working anyway, I just ripped the white plastic part of the power button right off. Well, that seemed to do the trick. Phone immediately fired back up without issue and has been going strong. I glued a small thin piece of plastic where the old one used to be and I am back in action. If my little plastic piece solution eventually fails or breaks off I will consider soldering on a new button but so far so good.
If you have tried everything else, and are looking for last resort, try cleaning the power button with some alcohol, and if that fails, rip off that power button! Here is the video that gave me the idea: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Glllc7bEJs and here are some other power button videos: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=s4%20power%20button&search_type=&aq=f&oq=

i9500 boot loop

Hello,
I had been using my i9500 for quite a while now, with no issues.
rooted, Hassan rom , Philz Kernel, worked flawlessly until yesterday.
suddenly my phone started rebooting indefinitely, not entering recovery or download modes.
I tried mashing the buttons a little, and i got to the download mode "Warning" screen (unable to go any further) without holding my power button - meaning only by holding both home and volDown keys.
anyway, this lead me to believe my power button is malfunctioning, yet i can still normally press it (Clicking as usual, as if there is no physical damage) and I did not drop or damage my phone in any way.
all of the online threads are regarding phones stuck on boot animation, yet mine is flashing the "Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9500" white over black screen (before the boot animation) and doesnt reach boot animation.
i want to believe my data is still reachable as i have not made any backups lately, this is why I came here.
if anyone has encountered any similar issue, please shed some light as this is the first time i had been unable to solve a "boot loop".
thanks in advance!
(ps, phone is still stuck on the loop, i let it keep doing so overnight to let the battery die, plugged it back in to no avail)

Great mate.
Good luck
My GT-i9500 just started this same issue less than an hour ago.
I have taken the battery out and I am hoping this will help. Since I never turn the phone off the power button doesn't get used that much. At the most it might get used once a month.
Well I am not sure if this was the reason for it working but I put the battery back in and rocked the power button back and forth. Now its booted properly. Will keep and eye on it, just a pity it would give issues a few days before Christmas. Repair centers won't be open until early Jan.

While waiting for the lab to open (sunday) i started flicking my phone a little more violently (upon the acceptable amount of strength), and now i made it boot (!!!).
the current status is the power button is not working, i am carefully navigating to titanium backup... hope i can get a Nand backup aswell, but that's just being greedy. thank god for Philz touch recovery (no power no love on recovery)
Hello mate...

LG G2 not turning on/bricked?

Hi guys,
I have a problem with my LG. Yesterday i was casually lurkin some internet or whatever. Havent done anything suspicious or something. Then i switched phone off and put it for a while on the side. When I tried to unlock it after that it was impossible. Phone just doesnt respond. I havent rooted it or done anything connected with roms etc, not into this stuff really. When i plug it into charger red LED starts blinking, then LG logo appears, then battery icon and after that its just charging like normally and still red LED lights. Right now its fully charged so instead of red, the LED is green. The buttons combinations dont work neither (hold power, hold power and vol-) besides holding vol+ and power. I have to hold it for a while, then plug into charger and then some kinda download menu appears, but it does nothing too. Still cant start the phone. However few hours ago i just tried holding power for a bit and everything worked perfectly. Then i locked the screen and *bam* bricked again. I know there are many topics like that but i havent found the exact same problem with solution yet. Every help would be highly appreciated. :good::good:
BUMP please any advice. It actually Turner on one more time, but when i tried using power button, at first it didnt respond, then after few seconds it went bricked back. I managed to take off the backcover so maybe there is sth i can do?
I could be wrong but sounds more software related then hardware to me, maybe try to use one of that flash tools or pc suite to do a clean flash and sadly lose all your data.
If that doesn't help idk....
You don't have a backup do you?
No, unfortunately i dont. I didnt expect that to happen.
Yo so I actually managed to turn it on (i ve no idea how) and its working fine. Im scared to press the power button so it will be unlocked all the time. Ive already done the general backup of photos, music etc, but if there is some good app to make solid backup or something please let me know.
Soo is there any other option to find out if it is finally repaired than pressing power button? I can access data on PC so maybe theres the way to fix it now? If i press the button probably it will brick again, and then after couple of days it will suddenly start working, so id rather dont do this..

Bricked Le Pro 3 727 (Blue Screen of Death)

Hello friends,
My LeEco Le Pro3 (727) bricked two days ago and I haven't had any luck turning it back on. It was running LineageOS 8.1 latest official build with an unlocked bootloader, Magisk 16.0, TWRP 3.2.1, and OpenGapps ARM64 8.1 nano. Immediately prior to bricking I was setting it up for bluetooth with my car and was trying to run Google Maps through voice command. As I directed Google Maps to take me to a location, the phone froze, the screen got all "fuzzy" and I got the dreaded blue screen of death.
From that point on I have not been able to turn the phone back on. When I press the power button it will vibrate every 5-10 seconds as though it will turn on but it never does. Ive tried everything I can think of to get to work again including:
- Pressing power button for 2 min, 5 mins, 10 mins
- Pressing power button + vol up (recovery) for 2 min, 5 mins, 10 mins
- Pressing power button + vol down (fastboot) for 2 min, 5 mins, 10 mins
- Pressing power button + vol up + vol down (QFIL MODE) -> Installing Qualcomm driver, downloading "FlashOne2.0", flashing all versions of "qfil files" that I could find but still unable to boot up
- Pressing all different button combinations while plugged in to computer/charger
- Using different cords/chargers/usb ports
- Leaving it to charge overnight/full day then trying to boot up
- Leaving it sitting not charging for a full day then trying to boot up
At this point I'm starting to think it might be a hardware issue but who knows..
Any advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
Where did you buy it from.
I don't have much to add here it seems like you have done everything that you could
Let's clear this up no fashboot right.
Only one thing to try hold power down then plug in USB.

My one did the same, the issue was motherboard. You should send it back to repair.

Thank you for the reply.
It was purchased from a local retailer here in the United States through Google Express. Fortunately I should still be able to return it for a full refund but I would rather have a working phone than my money back.
No flashboot either. It's like the phone just decided to quit working one day. Tried holding power while plugging in USB as well and no change.

The conclusion I'm reaching at this point too. I'll see what the return policy.
Well if it will not turn on it is hardware issue you should be able to return it.

That is so strange. The screen going fuzzy like that is indicative of a hardware issue, IMO. I saw that on my laptop once, but that was because I hit the screen too hard. Never seen a BSOD on an Android device before. TIL.
I assume you've already tried an adb logcat. Were you using the original LeEco cable? I heard it has issues since it's not up to spec. 99% hardware failure, but I can't help but think it has something to do with driver communication confusing the device and causing hardware failure (?) if that's even possible.
Just a final update for those curious.
After leaving the phone alone for two days I plugged it into the charger and low and behold it started vibrating and booted up by itself. It was running a Chinese developers editions 720 rom due to the QFIL File I had flashed in my earlier in my attempt to fix it. Battery was drained so I let it charge for a while and everything was fine until I attempted to restart the phone. As the boot animation was loading, I got the blue screen of death for a second time.
I took a quick picture, the phone shut off itself off, and same as before it wouldn't boot again. As other users have suggested it appears to be a hardware issue, likely with the motherboard. Fortunately I was still able to return the phone (purchased through Google Express via a local retailer) and received a full refund. I've since bought another Le Pro3 (727) and hopefully when that one comes in, it won't have any issues.
Thanks to all the users who left suggestions/tips.

You bought the same phone again? :good: You're courageous, lol.
i been experiencing the exact problem like your on my x720, as i boot up the system or enterting the recovery mode the screen go fuzzy on loading screen and shut itself off completly, i can still able access fastboot. As i left it for a while the phone will be able to almost finish the boot then ending it all with a blue screen.
Have anyone found a way to fix this DIY since my phone has past the guarantee plan ?
