Lost Storage Space - OnePlus 5 Questions & Answers

So I have the 128gb version. My storage was fine until after I installed Lineage 15.0. It says I only have 111gb of storage left, yet nothing was downloaded. I even used the unbrick tool and put my phone completely back to factory with it, and it still says 111gb remaining. I know OOS doesn't use that much space. I also downloaded an app called Disk Space, and it shows my storage as 111gb. I don't know how that other bit of storage is just completely gone. Is there any way to get it back?

Isn't that normal? Here's what I see on my 64GB unit.

Yea kinda strange that the 64gb unit only has 52gb of space on it. I was hoping wed have more around 58-59. Android isnt that big and cmon, its 2017 we can start getting near maximum storage on storage devices.

The rom is not the issue, I am on stock rom and it also shows 111gb. I think it is because of the space allocated to user data in the partition.

I didn't think it was. Pretty sure it said more than that when I first got it, but I could be wrong.

Apps2sd for stock rooted Dinc?

so, i've been searching here and androidforums.com to see how to install apps2sd on my inc. I want to install to the stock rom because until CM6 has all the bugs worked out of it, i need a stable phone for work.. so far everything I've found says i need to flash a rom with it already included.. so... for those that are smarter than I in regards to all things android, can i put apps2sd on my phone with the mostly stock, rooted sense rom?
Patience. I'm sure as soon as its available xda will be one of the first to post the method.

i realise the internal phone storage available is 746MB, i dont think there is a need for app2sd?

If I recall correctly the phone has 512 RAM and 512 Rom. Plus the 8gb internal storage. Apps running from SD frees up more of the RAM for better performance.
Anyways this thread should probably be removed since there are tons of others on this subject

Yep I have the same question, I tried it and it said the same thing?
same question man!

Internal storage on Pro (+) !?

hello,
can anybody pls tell me how much is YOUR internal storage on the
U8800pro?
for the normal X5 (U8800) wiki says 600MB and 2GB flash
8800+/pro is claimed to have 4GB flash and more internal, too.
At least my Pro says 0,9GB internal free
but only 1,55GB internal SD/flash available
so my pro obviously has only about 2GB internal - not 4
(I just updated to the last official 2.3.5 (B57) (3/2012) and left the phone untouched so far)
any other experiences with this rom ... hints?
thx

21 hits and no one with a pro?
I just went back to B540 - but still 1,5GB internal
(...switch back to B572 again now)

My 8800 Pro (Titan?) has 1,56 GB on internal SD-card, and 544 MB on internal storage.
I found it under Settings > Storage space ("Lagerplads" in Danish, I don't know what it's exactly called in the English version). Maybe that is why it isn't the same as yours
Thanks Oliver,
that is the same, maybe your internal is only 544 because of installed apps?
mine is clean so far (0,9GB)
But my point is the small internal SD (1,5 vs 4GB claimed)
never mentioned that before....
Edit:
meanwhile I found another pro-user,
also 1,56GB
well, if we were nasty, we could call it scam

32GB phone, 24GB available. Where is this 8GB at?

Even with a custom ROM and after wiping data the most I've seen available is 24GB. Where is this 8GB of memory going to? Possible to make it available to use?
The phones have partitions. Thus 8gb is set aside for the system. The only way to get it back Is to change the partitions.

Don't think that's possible with a locked bootloader.
Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
Okay, that makes sense, but what in the world do they need 8GB for? Is it possible to unlock the bootloader and get this space back? I'm assuming it's been done on other phones.

well the stock rom in nearly 2g compressed, i dont know what it is broke down and installed.
as for the bootloader, i doubt anyone is even trying to unlock it since we have loki support.
Also, one thing to remember is that you don't really get 32gb from a 32gb piece of memory. Formatted, it is 29.7gb.
I think there's 24.3gb usable, so LG has taken 5.5gb. For what? I dunno. But I think it's still less than Samsung takes.
I don't think there's 5.5gb of data there. Maybe there's a couple gb held in reserve for OTA updates...?
Almost clean stock. Sounds about right to me.

The amount of reserved space depends on the filesystem used.

[Q] LG G2 low internal storage

So I am new to this flashing roms scene and after installing TWRP backing up my original phone set-up. I flashed cyangenmod 11.1 nightly, I had about 15GBs used at this point are installing all of my apps. Then today I decided to install the more stable 10.2. After wiping clean (factory reset) and flashing cyanogenmod 10.2 my internal storage reads 22gbs used leaving me litlle room for anything else. My question is how do I free up tons of room?
Try performing cache and dalvik wipes after Rom installation it might help a little.

I already did an advanced wipe except for system and something else. Kept my os intact but that's about it. haha.
Sorry for hijacking this thread.
I've low storage space left too.
I've a 16gb d802. Installed rgui rom. I've about 500 mb media and the rom file 1,6gb for a fast fix when something gets wrong. And about 2-300 MB apps. So where's the rest of the storage?

It seems that most of backups are not visible or hidden files visible when u go to sdcard/whatever folder instead I read u need to go to mnt folder and then go to where ever u want to go to find and verify and delete files that u don't need.

The same problem...any salution?
did anyone solve this low internal memory problem after format please?

Internal storage size correct or not

I'm running the 32gig Nexus 6p. Bootloader unlocked and rooted with practically a different rom on it every 4-5 days. And Multirom recovery and de-crypted. Yeah I know I'm a crack flasher. Doesn't help I have ADD either. But my question is...
When I reboot to bootloader/fastboot it shows on my screen that the internal is 32 gigs. But when I'm booted up normally and go to settings/memory and storage it shows whatever % of 25gigs used. Is this what it should say? 25gigs? If not how do I fix it? I've reflashed with WUGS toolkit back to stock alot so that's not solving the issue if there is an issue. Check out the pic

You need to wipe userdata that will fix but that will wipe the phone
it is being reported correctly. The difference is the OS itself is not reported as usage.

This. You never actually have the advertised capacity as usable storage on any electronic device.
guide
its all in the guide
Ok so its safe to assume that in the settings of everyone's phone
32gig shows ---- 25 gig avail
64gig shows ---- 57 gig avail
128gig show ---- 121 gig avail ?

Not quite. The amount of missing GB reported increases as your storage capacity goes up. The 128 GB has something like 112-116 GB available to the user. There isn't a flat 7 GB unavailable as storage capacity increases.
