Apps2sd for stock rooted Dinc? - Droid Incredible General

so, i've been searching here and androidforums.com to see how to install apps2sd on my inc. I want to install to the stock rom because until CM6 has all the bugs worked out of it, i need a stable phone for work.. so far everything I've found says i need to flash a rom with it already included.. so... for those that are smarter than I in regards to all things android, can i put apps2sd on my phone with the mostly stock, rooted sense rom?

Patience. I'm sure as soon as its available xda will be one of the first to post the method.

i realise the internal phone storage available is 746MB, i dont think there is a need for app2sd?

If I recall correctly the phone has 512 RAM and 512 Rom. Plus the 8gb internal storage. Apps running from SD frees up more of the RAM for better performance.
Anyways this thread should probably be removed since there are tons of others on this subject

How other phones deal with partition sizes

It might not been completely on topic, but I hope is okay.
When I am browsing HD2 forums, every ROM have information on what partition layout I need. However, when I'm browsing forums for other devices, I cannot see any such information on ROM.
How do other devices handle partition sizes? Can ROM do it from clockwork while installing? If yes, why this does not work on HD2?

Not really, but my only Android phone is HD2, so I don't have experiences with how others work.

Um, I was sure that I posted in HD2 Q/A section. Sorry about that (can someone move that?).

and there is the main difference, its NOT an android phone, its a winmo phone with android hacked onto it, you can't expect it to work the same way.

That it's what I meant. I know they don't work the same way, that is why I asked the question in first place.

32GB phone, 24GB available. Where is this 8GB at?

Even with a custom ROM and after wiping data the most I've seen available is 24GB. Where is this 8GB of memory going to? Possible to make it available to use?
The phones have partitions. Thus 8gb is set aside for the system. The only way to get it back Is to change the partitions.

Don't think that's possible with a locked bootloader.
Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
Okay, that makes sense, but what in the world do they need 8GB for? Is it possible to unlock the bootloader and get this space back? I'm assuming it's been done on other phones.

well the stock rom in nearly 2g compressed, i dont know what it is broke down and installed.
as for the bootloader, i doubt anyone is even trying to unlock it since we have loki support.
Also, one thing to remember is that you don't really get 32gb from a 32gb piece of memory. Formatted, it is 29.7gb.
I think there's 24.3gb usable, so LG has taken 5.5gb. For what? I dunno. But I think it's still less than Samsung takes.
I don't think there's 5.5gb of data there. Maybe there's a couple gb held in reserve for OTA updates...?
Almost clean stock. Sounds about right to me.

The amount of reserved space depends on the filesystem used.

Have you used lucky patcher? If yes, then find the odex file of the corresponding apk and delete it. If u havent used lucky patcher, IDK other methods except to wipe data.

Lost Storage Space

So I have the 128gb version. My storage was fine until after I installed Lineage 15.0. It says I only have 111gb of storage left, yet nothing was downloaded. I even used the unbrick tool and put my phone completely back to factory with it, and it still says 111gb remaining. I know OOS doesn't use that much space. I also downloaded an app called Disk Space, and it shows my storage as 111gb. I don't know how that other bit of storage is just completely gone. Is there any way to get it back?
Isn't that normal? Here's what I see on my 64GB unit.

Yea kinda strange that the 64gb unit only has 52gb of space on it. I was hoping wed have more around 58-59. Android isnt that big and cmon, its 2017 we can start getting near maximum storage on storage devices.

The rom is not the issue, I am on stock rom and it also shows 111gb. I think it is because of the space allocated to user data in the partition.

I didn't think it was. Pretty sure it said more than that when I first got it, but I could be wrong.
