Installing stock ROM on SM-G532F - Galaxy Grand Prime Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So guys I have flashed TWRP on my Grand Prime Plus through Odin. And now I need to find a stock ROM for my phone.
My question is:
Does the base version (and build version as well) of the ROM you're downloading need to be same to what it used to be before??
This here are some specifications of my phone right now:
Android Version
6.0.1
[Marshmallow]
Baseband Version
G532FXXU1AQB3
Kernel version
3.18.19-10802954

Can someone tell me if the base version and the Build Number needs to be same for downloading a new ROM or not??
And where can I find the best ROM for my phone??
Edit: And does the region of the ROM you're about to download needs to be the same as the region you're living at? Does it make any different?
Also, how do I make a backup for the already installed OS? What do MUST make backup of out of:
Boot
Recovery
EFS
Cache
System
Data
Misc
Modem
System Image
I don't really care about losing data, I just don't want to lose my previous already installed OS while trying to flash a new stock ROM. So what do I make backup of out of the aforementioned?
Thanks.

Where is stock frimware link?

The update has been confirmed to keep root, but if you wan't to be 100% sure you'll keep root there is a thread in the general section about updating to OC4 and keeping root. It has a ROM just like the one you're using except it's OC4.

Galaxy S5 SCL23 (SM-G900J)

Hello.
I just recently got Galaxy S5 which appears to be only sold in Japan. There's some custom firmware installed on it which prevents Android to be updated. Phone doesn't have SIM locked, so any SIM card can be used.
Because the forum doesn't allow me to post link to a screenshot which shows firmware info I'll just write it down.

I'd like to completely wipe this firmware from the device, replace it with the latest Android version (6.0?) and root it. At first I'd like to know if it's even possible to do any kind of firmware changes on this model and what exactly do I need to perform the update/root.
Thanks.
Doesn't look like there is a 6.0 stock ROM for it, but you can upgrade to 5.0 here
http://updato.com/firmware-archive-select-model?r=&v=&q=SCL23
Flash with ODIN (Instructions all over the forum many times)
Okay, instructions on updato seems quite easy to follow so that shouldnt be a problem. Is there any recommended tool for root? I've found a lot of them and I really don't want to mess something up.
PS: How come there's no stock ROM for 6.0 even tho it's been mentioned in some articles that SCL23 model is also supported by Marshmallow update?
Anyone?
Okay, update to 5.0 passed without any issues. There are some default japanese applications on the phone which I cannot uninstall, is it possible to get rid of those somehow?
I have the same device Do you update succeeded or not
I installed Android 6.0.1 and the network was missing help someone Galaxy scl23 or give the firmware 4.4.2 or help to find the GSM network

Go to this link & download 4.4.2 then follow this tutorial.
Make sure to use key input from the options & use capital letters where needed. All being well you will have everything working again.
Make sure not to use any download manager for the download link. File gets about 100kbps so it'll take a few hours but you will get it.
I did the above then rooted the phone & flashed correct TWRP version to it then flashed 5.0 Lollipop SpaceX rom here. Everything working good & no loss of service on reset or reboot.
Hope it helps

[Help] New to the Custom Roms world

Hi all
I’m very new to the custom roms world (I’ve just got an S4 I9505 see specs below) and i would gladly appreciate your advices. Feel free to share any advice.
I am starring at the Kitkat Google Play Edition JFLTE-GPE by Danvdh (last update 28/01/2018).
Could you advice me 3 very battery friendly roms ?
Maybe Official Lineage OS 14.1 (nightly 7.1.2) as you told me stylemessiah ; JDCteam Optimized Lineage OS 13 (stable 6.0.1) ; ... ? I read also about MIUI.
Many thanks for your help.
ps: I’m French (sorry for my bad english) using the “Free Mobile” Carrier which needs XEF CSC (i mean i prefer english language rather than french, but i need to use the “Free Mobile” Carrier).

-According to zetcamp (thank you) I don't need to upgrade or downgrade my current I9505XXUHPK2 Bootloader and I9505XXUHPK2 baseband for this rom.
Which are the latest bootloader and modem for my XEF i9505: I9505XXUPQG1 ?

I would like first to do a full backup of my phone (included the EFS partition which stores the IMEI numbers and data)
Could please you tell me :
-Which is the latest TWRP version compatible with my current I9505XUHPK2 bootloader and I9505XUHPK2 baseband ? is the 3.2.1-0 ok ?
https://eu.dl.twrp.me/jfltexx/
-Which Odin version should i use to flash this TWRP ? Is the lastest one v3.13.1 compatible ?
TWRP is not dependent on the bootloader version. I recommend always running the phone with the latest bootloader and modem and I believe PK2 is the latest.
You can use Odin version 3.07 or newer to flash TWRP.
A battery-friendly ROM is going to be stock. There may be others but I stuck with a de-bloated stock ROM for my s4.
Ive tried GPE ROM's in the past (maybe not that exact one, it was ages ago) and found issues, though they may have been fixed by now...
Personally these days i wouldn't go less than a Nougat (Android 7) ROM (not sure why youre wanting to downgrade to KitKat - much better fucntionality and app choices in your current ROM, and better again in later ROM's), at very least the stock official LineageOS 14.1 (updated nightly) on an S4, so much better than any stock ROM, no bloat for a start. Though going with a stock ROM, if its rooted you can remove the bloat at least.....
The latest modem&bootloader is technically XXUHQC1, though i have tested it for months, i eventually went back to XXUHPK2, so i would stick with that...
Note: You can always choose to upgrade/downgrade the modem&bootloader independently of the ROM (im using PK2 with Oreo (Android 8.1), the best source, in case you ever feel like trying an alternate, they are here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4/general/ref-galaxy-s4-i9505-modems-bootloaders-t3315987 Worth sticking in your bookmarks
Note 2: They often hide some previous versions under the Click To Show Content buttons....
Hi Stylemessiah.
Ok, so for the modem and the bootloader i'm already ready to go. Nice

I was hoping that because KitKat is lightweight, With 2GB of RAM it could be responsive and with a good battery life. I know that kitkat is kind of security updates outdated...
I would like to use Opera Mini, Waze, and during hiking the GPS and the Camera (no video recording). But my main usage will be 2G idle during day, and airplane mode during night. Few sms, no calls (and no games by the way, so performance or costumization doesn't matter for me).
In the old times, with my S1 i9000 i could last 6days+ with a single charge (without using much the phone indeed ...)
Thanks
Latest modem can be found here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4/i9505-orig-develop/recovery-twrp-3-2-1-0-t3742880

Thx for your reply but i know Since I'm satisfied with Android 9, it's not a problem (about 48h of battery life with the stock rom installed).
But no one can answer to my question please ? A major part of this forum is dedicated to root and no one can answer me ?
no answer so I will root the older one.... Useless post, last time I'm asking help here
I think you can root all

Another one to suggest me ?
DON'T FLASH the firmware G950FXXU5DSFB if you want to install TWRP, it seems it's not compatible with this version.
I tried to flash it on my phone and now the recovery partition is buged.
EDIT : I was wrong. After reboot, the system needed to install some updates (maybe because of the upgrade of the bootloader - v4 to v5) that's why I could not flash TWRP. After a full boot (I've done the initial setup) and then a reboot, I was able to flash recovery.

What happend?
Make sure u do all the steps correctly or else won't work .
I can confirm because I've tested to flash and root all these firmwares : it works for all of them. Now I'm searching if it is TWRP or DM-verity or RMM-state which modifies and pollutes the settings menu by adding some useless entries... (see the screenshots)
