Hi,
for anyone who has or came across sound problem (miui 8 from 8.5.10 and all miui 9) with sound over headphones including:
low sound
sound goes up and down (the problem seems to be related by play another sound during play music)
the problem is something related to root privilege in global miui and file system/etc/mixer_paths_tasha
difference between china and global in mixer_paths_tasha is in attached print screen (china on left, global on right)
you need to have root and copy file /system/ect/mixer_paths_tasha from china to global or edit mixer_paths_tasha on your global file
unfortunately without root it doesnt work (even if you copied that file eg. using TWRP file manager)

Change theese two values under <!-- These are the initial mixer settings --> and be happy with power sound again

I upgraded my phone upon unboxing so didn't know how it was before 8.5.10 global. But you are right the sound over headphones was really low and it goes up when you switch music apps.
Wha exactly does your method fix? Low sound or inconsistent sound or both?

Should this be reported to MIUI devs? MIUI 9 is right around the corner and as you mentioned this problem is present in 9 global beta roms as well.

If you use Magisk Root, you can just install Mi5 Headphone Volume Fix in Magisk Module.
Or you can flash em via TWRP.

It seems to affect only the Global ROM.
One solution is to take the audio files from the China Stable ROM and add them to the global ROM.
Bigger market gets more attention
Its fixed in 7.11.23
Same problem here, in my case with "sound goes up and down"
It happened with MIUI 8 when I received the phone and now with MIUI 9 (9.0.2 Global Stable) , in several apps in addition (audios of whatsApp, app stock of music, Google Play Music ...)
And for the read, both in global stable rom as in the beta developer
miui 9.0.2.0 global sound is low in headphone

Its not a bug. EU and China has different safety standarts , that is why sound volume is decreased in eu roms. Otherwise the device wont be let to eu market. Dont wait it to be fixed from miui devs. There can be only 2 solituons:
1.Manual fix mixer tasha xml
2. Use china rom (localized china rom from xiaomi.eu, multirom , miui.su, miui.pro and etc)

I am not agree with you. Maybe now sound is lowered than in China ROM but when I described the problem , sound goes up and down. It was possible that sound stayed high (as in China ROM)
Thank you so much for this. Volume suddenly got lowered 20 -> 12 after upgrading to latest global ROM (9.5.6) from 9.2 global, thought I'm getting deaf.

just installed this rom . .
this is one of the best themed roms I have seen.
I'm not an ios fan but the cool animations and overall smooth operation
of the rom has to be tried to be believed.!
The white/grey and tiny fonts in Settings make some of the "ios look" difficult
for my eyes to see, but the little details like themed sliders, butons and animations make this rom
stand out from the crowd.

wifi bug fix
After a clean install I noticed wifi not working. After some testing,
info on the wifi module showed : vermagic: 2.6.35.7-perf-CL1095098 preempt mod_unload ARMv6
. . which does not match the included kernel.
this one matches the kernel : vermagic: 2.6.35.7-perf-CL882825 preempt mod_unload ARMv6
I have included a zip for easy install through cwm. Works nicely for me, hope this is helpful.

I have a locked boot loader helium install custom ROM no issue so far but when I try to install xiaomi EU miui 9(latest ROM) using Nigel twrp by formatting data, mi logo appear and soft brick, the universal boot patcher can't patch the ROM some error came out.Is it because I did not mount system?I also did the same procedure on my hydrogen but have no issue installing miui 9 with lock boot loader only on helium this occur.Forget to add I delete the emcc file from latest EU ROM

Battery is so good and i install google camera. the system was perfect now.

system.img is the treble rom (a only) that you have to download. You get a zip that you have to extract, in there is the system.img
I have recently upgraded from Xiaomi.eu's 8.11.8 build (Android 8.1) to their 8.12.20 (Android 9) and thought I would let the community know how things are going:
What works well
1. The UI performance is noticably better with the Android 9 build than it was with any of the Android 8.1 builds. Swiping between homescreens is more fluid and the full screen gesture animations are faster and have far less lag.
2. There were no significant issues in the upgrade process - I simply dirty flashed 8.12.20 over the top of 8.11.8. See below for more details.
Resolved issues after upgrade
1. After flashing, I had to re-apply Magisk 18
2. My previous Magisk Module to enable the Camera2 API did not work with Android 9. I removed the old patch and installed this one. This module allows the use of the Pixel camera, as discussed below.
3. I upgraded the Pixel Camera to the latest MGC_6.1.021_BSG_Arnova_TlnNeun_1.2_Final Camera apk, but this was too unstable. I have since downgraded back to MGC_5.3.015_B-S-G-based_V1.0.15_final_fix_TInNeun which works well. The relevant Pixel APKs can be found here.
4. I use the Google Clock, rather than Xiaomi's, and found that I had to unlock the phone before accepting an alarm. I resolved this by going into Settings / Installed Apps / Clock and giving it the Show On Lockscreen privilege.
All in all, I am now very happy with the upgrade to Android 9. The performance, in particular, has been an unexpected bonus! I think the current build is more than good enough to upgrade to, so if you are still hesitating I would recommend you upgrade.

XPerience 13 as vendor at this moment i cant enable adb in miui so other bug added in the list about NFC with magisk HELL NO!, i will fix it

With xpe 12.1 as vendor magisk fix for nfc worked well. But of course it is better to have it working out of the box. MIUI was one gsi which always don't boot - only very old port I booted once . OOS is easier - even latest Erfan's builds boots ok .
You OC our poor 625 to 2.75 ghz in miui ???

Camera Fixed In OOS and miui in newer builds of XPerience you will not need the fixes (well only in miui cuz it need a proprietary xml)

So you merged patch for MIUI with OOS together and add camera fix for both ? Busy night full of flashing is comming - I like it

you need to flash both xD in miui the miui and OOS fixes
MIUI GSI is - hardcore opponent :/ It don't see my storage also brightness need fix . I have patch which partialy helps with brightness but - no visible storage is a problem .
Now I am looking at gsi Havoc 2.6 - camera still don't work [emoji58] but Bluetooth, NFC, lte+ data and maybe wifi works - no its not work can't be switched on [emoji58]. Very fast rom. When I return to home I do logs, maybe @TeamMex you could be able look at them and try to fix camera Hal3.

Yes look at that patches - they are not tuned for MZP to bright screen is setup without patch it is to dark [emoji2957].

I suppose that miui and OOS supports adopted storage even they normally not use it. I think it is broken only on connection vendor-gsi because gsi see storage config properly but only can't access it.

I am now temporary on xpe 13 build 13/06 + gsi Havoc 2.6 official.
Data lte works, NFC too, no wifi and any camera I have logs for it. To test Bluetooth.
Plus crash log from gcam :

your log is 06-15 13:36:17.719 F/linker ( 1880): CANNOT LINK EXECUTABLE "/vendor/bin/hw/wpa_supplicant": library "<email omitted>" not found telling XD a library with @ is a email i cant see what library is "missing"
I moving libbinder and libutils to vndk seems needed in AOSP
can you share XD other log ? but with no email omission you can edit them manually to remove your email if needed.

Maybe today in 10h I made new logs as I understand in name of missing library is @ and name Was deleted in log yes?
In that location in xpe13 system/hw sits file:
[email protected]
and in system many others files with @ in its name - that is crazy to add @ in file names, Google that is crazy!!! [emoji23]
Anyway on screenshot are wifi related files some of them.
