Android O: bug with do not disturb - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

When I select "do not disturb" icon, the options do not show any longer: gotta slide down fully notification bar and click on small arrow next to icon to choose the three different modes.
Also when using volume keys, the do not disturb options are not shown, even if enabled from settings (see attachment).
Thanks

[Q] Is there an app/widget to toggle fullscreen setting...

... in CM7 tablet tweaks?
Basically the "disable fullscreen" setting is great as it allows the status bar to stick around all the time. The only problem I've encountered is that some games don't display properly when I leave this setting on and need to uncheck it before launching the game. So I guess I'm asking if there's a way to either a) quickly toggle it from a widget/shortcut? Or if b) there's a smart app that can set it pre-game launch (similar to how CF3D Pro handles per app plugin settings.)
I'm okay with "no there's no such thing," just curious if anyone else has run into this before.
Thanks!
P.S. This is CM7 n126 on sdcard (vg method) w/ stock ADW.

The double chevron that should show up with your soft buttons when an app wants fullscreen will do exactly that. In Tablet Tweaks, right under the "Disable Fullscreen", tap "Choose unhide button" and you can pick which key will pop the status bar back up; I use "n" (home, not the default), or you can press-and-hold the power button, then pick the default (whatever that is, I've forgotten, it's not convenient for the NC).

I know about the chevron, and that does work most of the time. But I'm specifically to games that misbehave if you hit the chevron to hide the statusbar after the game's launched. What's happening to me is that the screen to zoom out to take up the extra space given up by the hidden status bar, but on screen touches will still behave as if the screen was it's previous size. So buttons, etc end up pressing in the wrong place. Does that make sense?
Off the top of my head, one game in particular that does this is FieldRunners HD. If you launch the game then hide the status bar with the chevron, the on screen presses will now be mis-aligned. But, if you toggle the check box "Disable Fullscreen" before launching, then the game will properly go full screen and work correctly.

[Q] Quick Remote in Notification Panel

I'll start by saying I have a completely stock phone. No modification in any way (yet).
My question is how do I add a customizable remote that will show up in the notification panel and of lock screen? When I click on the edit/arrange button (when viewing the 2 default remotes TV 1 and Audio 1) Then I click on the add button (top right) in the description is says "Select 4 items below to be displayed on the notification panel and swipe Lock Screen"
Or are you stuck with using the (pre-defined) TV, Audio, Blu-Ray..... choices to get one to show up?
I am able to program the additional functions I want to the Prev, Play/Pause, Next buttons and they work in full screen but they are still not available (grayed out) in the notification panel.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks

It seems like you're stuck with LG's predefined remotes on the notification panel. Very annoying..

Activate Silent Mode on Android L

This is the best work around I've found. I've tried this with power toggles but it should also work with other apps.
On your power toggle widget, add the volume toggle.
On the widget, press the volume toggle once. Your phone will go into priority mode. Press it again and you should be in silent mode.
Reactle's Light flow will also push LED's in this mode so its just like the silent mode in KK.
I've tested most of the social networking apps plus incoming phone calls, Google messenger, Whatsapp and Email. Phone remains silent, screen does not light up ( have ambient display enabled on my N5 so that lights up) and LED is pushed through.
Let me know if this works
Cheers
J.
Doesn't work for me, I can only switch between Priority mode (I guess, the star symbol appears in the notification bar) and ringer+vibration. I have to use the hardware volume button to bring up the volume menu, then choose priority mode (click it away without doing changes) and then I can use Power Toggles to set it to vibrate only or completely mute. This works only one time, so when I get back to vibrate+ring I have to go through the whole process again when I want the phone to be silent.
But this is the second time I installed Lollipop. The first time I did a rollback to KK shortly after, but during the first install the sound noticeably crackled during toggling and I also could get it to vibrate only, but not mute completely.
Since then Power Toggles received an update which brings the behaviour I mentioned first in this post, I reported this to the dev.
Good thing now is that you can toggle data connection with the actual version which didn't work before (needs Root).
Can you tell what your Power Toggles settings are or maybe upload a backup file?
EDIT:
I just tried out the Power Toggles Volume Slider and this one is working! You press it and it brings up a window with all the volume modes to choose from, it's two clicks and you have the phone in silent, vibrate, ring or ring+vibrate!
Two drawbacks though:
-Doing this leaves a card in the recen app slider
-The Power Toggles widget doesn't change so you only know if you're in priority mode (muted, star symbol in notification bar) or on vibrate (vibrate symbol in notification bar).
If you're on ring only or vibrate and ring there is no hint on the homescreen or the widget. You kinda have to open the slider menu again to be sure.
I have to try out later if all this really works and isn't just some optical feedback without any function.
That's strange, clicking on one of the toggles on the widget should not leave a recent app in the slider. It doesn't for me, never has.
I can tell I am in silent mode by looking at the PT Toggle. When in silent, it will show a struck out speaker. Otherwise it appears as normal.
Once again. this is the best workaround I could find and it's working flawlessly for me, so I thought I should share.

The recent app appears in the slider when I use the Volume Slider Toggle. This is also the only way I can mute the phone.
Maybe you can upload your PT config so I can have a look how you did set it up?
Attaching a screenshot. The rightmost toggle is the volume toggle.

Same here
Tried it on a couple of Nexus devices. Worked on all. Tried it on the OnePlus One today and worked as well.
Toggling the switch once is priority, what happens when you toggle it again? Does the volume icon strike out?
Notification toggle works like a charm.
I just found out you actually have to DEACTIVATE the ring+vibrate function in the Power Toggles "Volume Toggle" settings to get it working "properly"
Now I can switch between vibrate+ring / vibrate+ring in priority mode (star in status bar, no idea what kind of use this has) / silent (also with star in status bar) / vibrate only (with vibrate symbol in status bar)
Even though PT got the hiccups this week for some reason, had calendar notification sounds when it was on vibrate only and some other weird behaviour. A couple of reboots solved the problem so far.
Still, PT needs a huge update.

How to access menu of old android apps with ZTE Axon 7

I have an old app that I really like but it doesn't have the hamburger (three lines) menu button. The Axon 7 doesn't have a menu button. I've tried long pressing the recent apps and the back buttons but it doesn't work. Is there any way to emulate the old android menu button on the Axon 7?
thanks,
just use mi-pop buttons for this

NICE! Excellent work around. Is there an easier way of turning mi-pop on/off other than going into the phone settings?
Thanks

There is a MI-POP Toggle in the notification pull down.
imo the context menu should be the default action instead of recent apps, while recent apps should be a long-press action on the context menu button :/

Swipe down again after you see the notification shade. First swipe down only shows the first row of quick setting toggles. Second swipe brings the rest (and where you can edit the order)

Except that would be against Android standards. And any app that's been updated in the past 3-4 years to modern standards wouldn't have the problem. Some OEMs use a long press on the recent apps to do the old menu, but with Nougat, that's used for multiwindow now. I'm just glad there is still a way to access it, as I need an app that is old enough to need it.

How to turn off the Do not disturb section using the Volume buttons shortcut

If you dont want your volume down button to turn on alarms only then follow this below its how to turn it off.
So far the option to disable it is hidden in the N previews. Slide down the quick settings shade and hold down the settings gear icon for a few seconds then let go. You should now unlock a new "System UI Tuner" entry in the settings app, right above "About phone". From there, in the "Do not disturb" section you'll find a "Volume buttons shortcut" toggle. This section does not exist on Marshmellow or older.
