Android Wear 2.1 or 3.0 - Wear OS Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Has anyone seen any information on the next evolution of Android Wear? 2.0 is a joke and should be considered a beta build imo.
Sent from my SM-N920V using XDA-Developers Legacy app

I'm happy with 2.0 on my Huawei Watch.
Would only expect a new version when I move to a new gen Smartwatch.

I really wish they update wear another time, 2.0 is an upgrade/downgrade from 1.5 with many lost features and some improvements. The problem is that the watch market is almost dead

You can say that again.
Looking at this section of xda I have never seen such little movement on threads. And I have been messing with Chinese brand stuff!
I just got a Huawei Watch 1 last week and I'm already giving up on doing anything with it.
Only apps I got for it are Facer, Water Drink Reminder and Google Fit. Even having trouble finding anything else to excite it even a little bit! Apart from the 1,000,000 different face apps.
The developers just don't seem too interested so its going nowhere unfortunately

Oreo Wear is coming. S-----L-----O-----W-----L-----Y
https://www.xda-developers.com/android-wear-beta-lg-watch-sport-android-oreo/

So... My Huawei Watch 2 just received an Android Wear update via Play Store bumping its version to 2.5, but i dont notice any changes
Only thing i noticed... i cant add new or switch to other watchfaces via the Android Wear app on my phone, as that one is still stuck on version 2.0 lol
Anyone else knows more about that?

This is how it looks for me now in Settings -> System -> About -> Versions. (and also in the apps version info)
Before the update the version number was 2.0.<something>

Mine is the same except the security patch level is April 5, 2017
The AW app on my phone is version 2.0.0172043166.gms
Seem that article explains it. Here is one of the AW devs comments.

[Q] Google Talk with Video?

Do you guys think this will be a market update or software update since the Nexus S is getting it in 2.3.4?
Maybe Samsung is waiting until then to give us official Gingerbread?
Thoughts?
Looks to me like Google is only going to do it on 2.3 phones, with 2.3 already percolating, we Epic users shouldn't have to wait too long.
"Google Talk with video and voice chat will gradually roll out to Nexus S devices in the next few weeks as part of the Android 2.3.4 over-the-air update and will launch on other Android 2.3+ devices in the future," Google explained in a blog post, which also offers a screenshot and demo video.

Hopefully someone can do something with this . Google talk with video presumably integrates better with the android os than other alternatives, so it makes sense Google is integrating it into 2.3 instead of back supporting 2.2... that said, only the stock or "developer" android phones like nexus one and nexus s will be getting these right now...

Video calling framework has actually been built into Android since at least 2.1. If you check our hidden menus, there are all kinds of options for it, except the part that actually lets you make a video call.
I'd also wager that it'll pretty seamlessly interface with FaceTime since Gizmo5 pretty much did what FaceTime did using the same protocols and standards, except it was doing it back in '06.

UK update

Has anyone in the UK got the recent update, everytime I check there is no update
Sent from the Beast that is the HTC One X in white......
Got enough posts and threads on this SO I am closing this one as it looks like this is old news now
THREAD CLOSED
Asus' Italian branch office posted two days ago on their facebook stream that the update for WW SKUs is held up pending approval by Google.
Take that with a grain of salt about the size of the Empire State Building, however, since at first they blamed excessive load on their servers, then they shifted the blame on Google
That and the fact that it doesn't seem to fix anything, maybe they have pulled it.

I think SEEM in the operative word, as it clearly fixes lots of things, but perhaps not what you want it to fix...

I think I read you can't do the OTA if you have CWM installed, and you have to install the stock recovery.
Did you try this?

[Q] Paranoid Android 4.2 - no ROM settings

Hi, I flashed "pa_mako-4.2-BETA2-20140325.zip" to my Nexus 4, but in settings I can not find any ROM settings. E.g. settings on this video: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=34799063&postcount=2 (PA3+ review).
May I flash any more or install any external APK to get them? E.g. I mean UI settings (tablet, stock, phablet, ...), but all settings that are at time 0:13 I can not find.
Screen of my settings & about phone:

That video is from the previous android version of paranoid android they've update to 4.4.2 and are redoing all of their customization to better fit kitkats design UI. Just wait and they'll be added (pie already has I think, halos gone its going to be replaced by hover ( no idea what it will be) they've also added peek). Don't think tablet UI will ever be available again googles deleted the code from android to create better consistency across tablets and phones. If you want those features flash the 4.3 version of paranoid android. Their change log is located here read it and it'll tell you what's happening with features.

This is the only problem I can't stand abt this phone.the updates are too slow..
It's a shame this is a great phone for the price
Hi!
Can anyone provide feedback about this update? Does it really improve things overall or also add other issues?
I have been holding myself from updating for a good week now x)
Hasn't added any issues that I've seen so far, and others have found it has cured the problem of music apps closing after 15 minutes.

Yeah. It seems like it was just a bug fix update which is fine. This is a very nice phone for the money. I've had no problems with mine since installing the update.

Fix problem "phone dont boot if facebook app insalled" and securiry update.
It's very disappointing they haven't given his phone a krack fix. Last security patch is October 2017. Embarrassing for a phone that came out in 2017. Neverbuying another zte phone.
I just got the b22 update, installing now. Security up to February 2018.
I have done the update. A few weeks after, I have an "optimising app X over X" every time the phone boots... That sucks

Android 7.1.1 Nougat for priv ?

anyone know When is Android 7.1.1 Nougat coming to priv?
no
I don't think that the Priv will ever get Nougat. I am starting to accept it.
I have interest in this topic as well.

Crackberry confirming no nougat. Very disappointing. And the keyone is a downgrade overall, so I guess it's time to go back to no keyboard because yet again no one makes them.

Sadly, no. It's nearly impossible to unlock bootloader on modern phones. I hope Google sees this phone and makes a pixel with a keyboard lol. Won't happen but one can dream!
So, Blackberry still wants to sell phones after treating "flagship" phone customers like this? I see the reason for not wanting to invest in a phone that few people use, but this hurts their reputation with existing customers who may want to upgrade.
