:laugh:sounds great looks like I should order a v8 pro again I sent mine back a month ago due to a defective LCD display

This is the only problem I can't stand abt this phone.the updates are too slow..
It's a shame this is a great phone for the price

Hi!
Can anyone provide feedback about this update? Does it really improve things overall or also add other issues?
I have been holding myself from updating for a good week now x)

Hasn't added any issues that I've seen so far, and others have found it has cured the problem of music apps closing after 15 minutes.

Yeah. It seems like it was just a bug fix update which is fine. This is a very nice phone for the money. I've had no problems with mine since installing the update.

guys this phone is great so far, check for vers. b20 update now. !!!!

Fix problem "phone dont boot if facebook app insalled" and securiry update.

It's very disappointing they haven't given his phone a krack fix. Last security patch is October 2017. Embarrassing for a phone that came out in 2017. Neverbuying another zte phone.

I just got the b22 update, installing now. Security up to February 2018.

I have done the update. A few weeks after, I have an "optimising app X over X" every time the phone boots... That sucks

UK update

Has anyone in the UK got the recent update, everytime I check there is no update

Got enough posts and threads on this SO I am closing this one as it looks like this is old news now
THREAD CLOSED
Asus' Italian branch office posted two days ago on their facebook stream that the update for WW SKUs is held up pending approval by Google.
Take that with a grain of salt about the size of the Empire State Building, however, since at first they blamed excessive load on their servers, then they shifted the blame on Google
That and the fact that it doesn't seem to fix anything, maybe they have pulled it.

I think SEEM in the operative word, as it clearly fixes lots of things, but perhaps not what you want it to fix...

I think I read you can't do the OTA if you have CWM installed, and you have to install the stock recovery.
Did you try this?

Another 4.3 update!

I have had this tablet for a week now and this is the 2nd update it has had.
For all you wondering if you should get a nexus device do it. even if you dont root and put Cyanogen mod or some other rom you will still be updated regularly!

This was a required update that fixes the GPS issues and erratic touch inputs experienced by many of us. It fixed mine and I am thankful that Google was on top of this and fixed it quickly! We wouldn't have seen this update so quickly after the first one, had it not been for these issues experienced by so many.
Welcome to the world of Nexii! You'll be getting plenty of updates for the next 3 years.

Just unpacked mine tonight which took 2 OTA's straight from the box! I love Nexus and Google for the no hassles, no frills OTA's that come with carrier devices.

Issues after 4.5.3 update!

Ok so I got my op5 on Sunday 27th from o2 store manufacture date 6/6/17 I was on 4.5.0 out of the box updated to 4.5.2 and then 4.5.3 after this I started to get random reboots even while on a call just shut down rebooted and strange things like if I had airplane mode on while asleep if I turned it of in morning I'd have no service till I rebooted the device again
Didn't experience this before update , back to reboot issue I contacted 1+ live chat and explained what had happened just for advice really is it a bug or a hardware issue and the response was to provide proof of purchase for replacement , not oh we are aware and a fix incoming so alarm bells rang as I had it from o2 I decided to take back for replacement as well with my 14 days return , I did this with no hassle explained to O2 the issues and exchanged for a new one same manufacture date 6/6/17 , so far all seems good even camera looks better less fuzz in zoom although this handset had no screen protector pre applied like last one not a big deal as got a tempered glass one coming , so I'm currently on 4.5.0 out of the box on the new device and we'll it's so smooth and no issues what's so ever ,, So do I update this one is the question I'm not sure or should I wait till another update rolls ,
Anybody else had same after update 4.5.3 ??

I haven't had any issues when updating to 4.5.3. But then again, I updated first, factory reset the phone and THEN setup my phone with my apps and such. I knew that there were going to be updates as soon as it released so no point in fully setting up the phone before doing those two steps

Android Wear 2.1 or 3.0

Has anyone seen any information on the next evolution of Android Wear? 2.0 is a joke and should be considered a beta build imo.
Sent from my SM-N920V using XDA-Developers Legacy app
I'm happy with 2.0 on my Huawei Watch.
Would only expect a new version when I move to a new gen Smartwatch.
I really wish they update wear another time, 2.0 is an upgrade/downgrade from 1.5 with many lost features and some improvements. The problem is that the watch market is almost dead
You can say that again.
Looking at this section of xda I have never seen such little movement on threads. And I have been messing with Chinese brand stuff!
I just got a Huawei Watch 1 last week and I'm already giving up on doing anything with it.
Only apps I got for it are Facer, Water Drink Reminder and Google Fit. Even having trouble finding anything else to excite it even a little bit! Apart from the 1,000,000 different face apps.
The developers just don't seem too interested so its going nowhere unfortunately
Oreo Wear is coming. S-----L-----O-----W-----L-----Y
https://www.xda-developers.com/android-wear-beta-lg-watch-sport-android-oreo/
So... My Huawei Watch 2 just received an Android Wear update via Play Store bumping its version to 2.5, but i dont notice any changes
Only thing i noticed... i cant add new or switch to other watchfaces via the Android Wear app on my phone, as that one is still stuck on version 2.0 lol
Anyone else knows more about that?

Before the update the version number was 2.0.<something>

Mine is the same except the security patch level is April 5, 2017
The AW app on my phone is version 2.0.0172043166.gms
Seem that article explains it. Here is one of the AW devs comments.

Verizon Software Update 14?

Does anyone know what the new Verizon Software update 14, is?
My phone started bugging me, this morning.
I'm rooted on 20C, and I don't want to screw anything up.
I'll happily unroot if it's Pie, though.
Nevermind, I see people talking in another section about it being a security patch.

Where did you see the discussion? I've been on androidcentral forum and supposedly LG told somebody (not me) that it was a security update but provided no details. I've spent a couple hours now on the phone with Verizon and LG tech support and they both claim it is not their patch. Maybe the people I've been talking to don't know where to look but this is weird. The people who have applied it got updated from 20c to 20d but the security update date remained at 1 Oct 2018, which was the 20c patch. Confused...
Well I'll be dipped I thought it was just my phone.

I was just referring to this thread.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/v20/how-to/vs995-updated-to-20d-security-patch-t4153935
So Verizon is claiming they didn't push an update? Very interesting.
I'm sure the patch is legit and this is just the usual big-company problem where the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing, but I wonder if it's an update that 'escaped' from their development process prematurely. Not updating the security patch date from 1-Oct-2018 is a pretty big red flag even apart from the support staff of both companies being ignorant. It would be nice to think that we (in the U.S.) will get Pie like the folks in Korea, but my guess is there isn't enough U.S. market presence for this phone for LG to want the support headaches so they will never do it.
