Can someone confirm if this phone has NFC or not please? - Huawei Honor Note 8 Questions & Answers

So I have the Mediapad X2 and love it except it has no NFC.
It seems no phone as big as my mediapad features NFC...not the Mediapad M2 or M3..not the Asus one..nothing. The only option would be a Samsung Note 8 but with its ridiculous aspect ratio...no thanks!
So , I love the 16:10 aspect ratio of my phone and the 7" screen but I might be willing to sacrifice its size (or maybe as a secondary phone) in exchange for OLED and for NFC.
Thanks guys!

No Nfc.
I come from X2 and M3 to Honor Note 8.
HN8 is very fast and great Batterylife,i love it.

Redmi Note 2 Or Elephone P3000S

I will buy a phone and don't know if i should buy the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 or the Elephone P3000S
They charge me the same for both. So the price it's not relevant in this Question.
The camera is the most important point in my decision, keep that in mind
Wich one should i buy?
Okay so here's the merits from what I can see from both phones.
Elephone P3000S:
Bigger battery
Touch ID sensor
NFC
Gorilla glass
Gesture support
Redmi Note 2:
IR blaster
Bigger community (tech support)
Better camera optics
Made by more reputable company (better quality control)
Faster processor
In my opinion (trying tot to be biased) I think the Note 2 is the better option. A large community is a must when buying Chinese phones where the return policy is absolute bull plop. If something goes wrong with your Note 2 there's likely someone who can help thanks to it's large fanbase. Also the fingerprint sensor on the Elephone looks archaic, it's reminiscent of the fingerprint scanners on the old IBM laptops and if that's the case you'd likely be disappointed with it.
That't my opinion, watch some reviews and make up your own mind. Whatever you end up buying, don't regret it. But enjoy what you've bought as there'll always be a better phone.
Good luck!

Hi,
I bought Elephone P3000s an Redmi note 2, and in my opinion Redmi Note2 is a better choice: I agree with Nippernator.
Furthermore Elephone still has Android 4.4 and there's no development at the moment, even if the Company said the Phone will have Lollipop.
Bye
Elephone is garbage
Not even a fair comparison, the elephone p3000s is really outdated compared to the redmi note 2 and there is a huge difference in regards of CPU (cortex a53 vs a7 cores), camera and screen (720p vs 1080p and better screen quality on the Redmi Note 2). I ditched my Moto G3 for a Redmi Note 2 and it's a whole new experience.

help switching to p10 plus

Hello everybody i have mate 9 pro and i was thinking to upgrade to p10 plus , but is it Worth it? The shop said they will buy the mate 9 pro from me for 705$ and the p10 plus costs 684$ so can someone help me to decide?
What perceived benefit do you think you'll get? Apart from microSD I can't see anything... (slightly better camera maybe)
No. Wait for Mate 10 with its Kirin 970. P10 plus definitely not an upgrade to Mate 9 pro which has larger battery and curved Amoled screen. And from the pricing as well, Mate 9 pro is considered by Huawei themselves as more higher range than P10 plus.

A good chance of seeing another 5.5 inch Mate 10pro to compete with Iphone 8 plus and other 5.5inch category phones. Unless Huawei pulls off a bezel less and the screen size become less relevant. Too early to tell. Also rumors of Honor 9 being released in a 5.5inch version in addition to the 5.1inch, in which case it would have a lot similar specs to P10 series but in a different body and cheaper price tag. But with owning a Mate 9 pro, a proper upgrade will be in Mate 10 series which will have the new Kirin 970.
Can't tell you if better than your previous phone only just upgraded from Sony Z3.... Yes I said that right I came from Z3 to the p10+. The camera is better, the internal memory 128gb is better, having Nougat straight out the box is better Z3 was left at early realise of mm, having finger Id is new to me.
The touch screen is a little unresponsive someone's I need touch screen 2 or 3 times before it acknowledges the touch.
The only major downside is I'm unable to root, which up to now all phones I've rooted.
I'm impressed by the phone and battery life, I've had phone for just over 2wks.
Sent from my VKY-L09 using XDA-Developers Legacy app
It's not really an upgrade, more of a side grade. I've switched from the regular Mate 9 to the p10 plus. Battery life is worse but camera is slightly better especially in low light.

Selling my IPAD 3 for a MediaPad 8.4 from Huawei

I own an outdated Apple iPad 3 Wi-Fi & I'm planning to sell it in favor of the MediaPad M3 (or even the M4 which is around the corners) which looks attractive to me (the 8.4in screen size seems perfect & compact to me, less weight, & less price!).
What worries me is that I'm not sure if the drop in screensize from 9.7 in for the apple to the 8.4 inch for the Mediapad will have negative impact on reading comfortability when viewing Math oriented PDFs in portrait view.
What interests me on the other hand is that the resolution of MediaPad is higher (1600 x 2560 pixels with ~359 ppi pixel density compared to 1536 x 2048 pixels ~264 ppi pixel density for the apple) but I'm not sure if this 'll compensate the drop from 9.7 to 8.4 inches.
I'm asking because I don't have access to MediaPad tablets in local stores, & even if I have, I won't be allowed to copy PDFs to it to see for myself in real.
Do you have an example PDF you can share? If so, I can look at it with both my iPad Air and the M3 and let you know what I think.
Yes

Favorite/Least Favorite Features of the Honor 8 Pro

Favorite/Least Favorite Features of the Honor 8 Pro
The Honor 8 Pro had a lot of improvements over the Honor 8. I'm curious what you guys liked and disliked about this phone, as we will most likely get an Honor 9 Pro before too long.
Favorite Features
Screen Resolution
The 1440x2560p screen resolution is perfect for the 5.7" screen size. Honor does a great job on utilizing the appropriate screen resolution for the size of the device. 1080p is is good for the Honor 8 (5.2" display) but the larger device definitely needed a higher screen resolution and I'm glad Honor implemented that.
Performance
The Honor 8 pro has yet to disappoint me with performance. The Kirin 960 and the 6GB RAM make this phone super smooth. I use it a lot for gaming and it out performs most phones that I've used.
Size
I like phones with larger screens but you can easily overdue it and make a phone too big. I think Honor made the perfect size phone (for me anyways) with the 8 Pro.
Least Favorite Features
UI
The UI of Honor phones has always been something that really bugs me. The icons are just bad, the wallpapers are bad, and the color scheme is bad. Luckily this is fixed with a custom launcher with a new icon pack, but it would be nice to see Honor redesign the way EMUI looks.
Water Resistance
I think water resistance is a must-have for any flagship phone now. It sucks that the Honor 8 Pro didn't get a water resistant upgrade.

Can the p10 lite do virtual reality?(Does the p10 lite have a gyroscope sensor?)

can it do vr?
Yes it can. I have it but keep in mind that the VR experience is not that great. Fps tend to drop and it does not seem fluent at times. Also, the screen has a laggy feel because it uses a ips lcd. The xiaomi redmi note 4x was way better at vr but the miui os is absolutely buggy and I had to change it for this p10 lite.

ok thanks...Im getting one tomorrow and i just wanted to know...???
No problem.
I don't think its a good idea for you to use this phone for VR. The Display is 1080p - that means that if you go into VR mode there will be 2 pictures displayed in half the quality (each eye will see the picture on its half the display so 2x 540p)
