Android O Rom for OnePlus 2 - OnePlus 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey! With android Oreo that just came out I wanted to know how long does it take usually for a first rom to be available on xda? Or how long did it take last year for the first unofficial nougat rom? Thanks

Not until the CAF source is out. So, expect a good and working build by december.

it was ready about in one or two week, but then was cyanogen, now we have linage.

There will not be a functional build for at least a couple of months. The devs that helped with nougat may not be here anymore as well.

just for ppl who are eager...
work for lineage 15 has been started bht dont expect it foe one plus 2 atleast for a month...
maybe grarak can help it to built it faster

As of now I am setting up an environment to see if I can help. Granted I said this for Nougat and it was way beyond me but I am up for another stab at it.

challenges make u grow Buddy
hope u nail it dis tym.
developers have just started to commit for 15 .. starting from scratch all the time is a big task i know...

I think that now, it 's easier than ever to compile a custom rom, with the new google updates politics
Last year with Nougat, OP2 got it one week after the official release of Nougat
Certainly our device lost most of his activ dev, but still there so many good of them
We will support the devs to help us to got it
Grarak, MrSheen123, Seraph a,d many others
For stable built it will take some time to perform the rom and it depend on the community union

Grarak has left rom building.

Damn, Grarak left :/?
Sadly i cant help this year though, Im on holiday since yesterday.
I wish you, whoever works on it, good luck though
And i think Treble is only good for future android releases, we still need to figure out how it works for Amdroid 8 ?
Cant look at the source code now though, so only speculations.

Lolol

I bought a oneplus 2 thinking the custom roms would arrive quickly..hope the developmemt wont die

Yeah it's is not a quick process. I am newish to the dev scene and I am actively working on trying to figure out if I can port it over or whether a much more experienced dev is needed.

oskar kratochvil has started to push commits for our oneplus2 ... i guess all the commits relate to our kernel

That's the way it is yeah. We don't post our test builds like that just for that reason but this thread looks neat. For the time being

I hope you dont take this wrongly but, i feel, at least in this early stage, maybe you could collaborate with reb0rn3 and his team to get at least each of the hardware working? Maybe setup an irc channel? So then both of the team can accelerate their work and then move on to fix other bugs and optimize the build.
Im sure others agree too right?
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
Is it just for the n7100 or will this rom support the n7105? If it does support the n7105 I'll be happy to test it once I get my hands on one.
Lol... wrong thread.

Aosp support

Hi guys
I am thinking to buy LG g3 but just browsed xda dev support for this beast but I am shocked when I noticed this device has poor aosp support.
Why this device still does not got aosp love

Im sure you would have the answer if you did...

It is still early. Give the devs some time. They are working on Aosp. We will get many of them soon. Once the bump tool will be avalible(thanks to team Code fire for that) development will shift up. Nexus 6 will have too many aosp however too big for my taste.

there are 10 or so currently being tested .... basically once the green light comes up for the roms to be published we will get a lot of them and hopefully in a short space of time but they are coming

You should've also seen that we've pretty much only just had the bootloader "bumped" and we've gotta wait until the devs of that let us know how to "bump" a custom kernel. Until then we can only flash stock based roms with the stock kernel, so there's no real chance of anything aosp happening (that isn't tethered, anyway) until then

AOSP ROM for Oneplus 2?

Hey guys I'm looking for an AOSP-based ROM, but not Exodus. I genuinely enjoy Exodus, but it updates too frequently, I want something with a "stable" branch, something that won't update daily, and preferably fairly minimal. And please don't give me that "you don't have to update" line.
You really don't have to update ?
Sent from my ONE A2001 using XDA-Developers mobile app
You don't, I do. kind of OCD about that. Anyway, that was specifically not a viable answer, as determined by the constraints of the posed question, so please do not.

Yes luck seems not to be what we are having sadly. The onyl real reason I would prefer it though is Layers. I can't think of any other noticeable differences.
Maybe you should focus on treating your OCD. You really do not need to flash.
That costs hundreds of dollars, and it is rather mild, with only specific things that seem to affect it, mostly technology-related.

I'm looking at it, but their G+ is terribly laid out and I can't find any main website for them, so I'll ask you. Are the FP and LAF working? And where can I find install instructions?
EDIT: I installed it, it ran like a trick, but the security menu crashed settings invariably, and as such I couldn't set any form of lock on my phone, which is a MAJOR issue.

When security settings crash that is 100% caused by flashing the wrong modem/firmware flash the other one (of the 2 available) one of them WILL work FP and LAF are FULLY FUNCTIONAL

Okay, so I need the H2OS FW then? I'll give it a try and then let you know how it goes.
EDIT: That did it Thanks big time, I was wanting to give this ROM a try. Now if only I could find some good Layers that include a custom connection status indicator in the statusbar.. Oh well, thatis a problem for a different thread!

Nah, I'm more looking for something like GentleUI from Cyanogen. Nice pastel colors, with unique indicators for the Wi-Fi and signal (it used the moon for a wifi indicator, how awesome was that?).

Stable CUstom ROM from now on!!

Now that ASUS has started rolling out 6.0.1 ota updates, our customs roms gonna be more stable than before. Also custom kernels!
hopeufully.... lets see
can't wait then!

Multirom?

Is there an actual working build of multirom for the OnePlus 2? I know RegalStreak was working on one but he abandoned the project. Is there anyone else working on a functioning multirom port for this device? Thanks.
Any info?

Another abandoned protect u.u
Martin fixed it for op3 and published the source but no one took over... I guess no developer interested in this

That sucks. I'm checking for a friend, I have a Nexus 6 with multirom, and it's a MUST HAVE mod! Hopefully soon! But thanks so much for the reply! [emoji2]
There is a Multirom version not totally working:
- [MOD][FEB-28][TESTING] MultiROM v33 for OnePlus 2
Maybe devs could start from it..
