P10 Lite missing Hidden Apps - Huawei P10 Lite Questions & Answers

I upgraded from a P9 Lite to a P10 Lite, but cannot seem to be able to open the Hidden Apps page in the launcher. I do not have the app drawer, as I prefer not to use it.
I had the option on EMUI 5.0, so has the Hidden Apps been removed on EMUI 5.1, or am I just missing an option to enable it somewhere?
Thanks in advance!

Go to Telefone manager and choose app lock. You can protect apps with another pin, but can not hide. Use apps from play Store for this feature

Thank you for your reply, although I would prefer not using a third party app, since this was a stock EMUI launcher feature, even in EMUI 5.0.
Using app lock still doesn't hide the apps from the launcher, but just puts a pin lock on it. I only hide the unnecessary app icons that I do not use, or can't disable (SIM Toolkit, Flashlight, Settings, etc), to keep my homescreen clean. I'm just really disappointed that it was removed. [emoji20]

I downloaded the emui tweaker application, it activates this function again, I also missed it, but this program solves the problem and returns the native. The only thing that has to be installed is Everything is not perfect.

That still won't solve the problem. I want the apps completely hidden, on my homescreen, as well as the app drawer. Also, if I remember correctly, Hidden Apps doesn't work with the drawer option enabled.
Thanks anyway. [emoji846]

Do you need root to use EMUI Tweaker?
I'm not rooted, and don't intend to unlock my bootloader anytime soon.

Ok so I've just installed EMUI Tweaker and got the Hidden Apps enabled [emoji16] Root is NOT needed.
For anyone else missing Hidden Apps, the app can be found here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teammt.gmanrainy.emuitweaker

Did you know?

Did you know you can turn off magazine app from opening when pressing the home button. There is an option for it ....... when magazine app is open press the menu button, then settings, then select open using the home key, un-check the box.
Well that was simple. Thanks, that stupid thing drove me nuts.
While on the subject, anyone know of any way to add new news sites to my magazine? Ie specific sites and not just a category?
Thanks I hate it too.
That thanks was purely for the sense of humour. He he

Did you know that you can create shortcut icons in the Multi Window panel that will automatically open paired windows of your choice?
If you didn't here's how.
Open the Multi Window panel on the left side of the screen, then open two apps that you use together. Now with both apps on your screen open the Multi Window panel again and look for the up arrow at the bottom of this panel and touch it. A little menu will open, select create. A box will then appear that let's you give it a custom name if you like.
More tips will follow and if you have a tip please feel free to add one.

You have to root it and install Wanam Xposed. That has a setting that lets you pick what apps you want to make available for multi-window.
Multiwindow Plus and Pen Window Manager will also do it, you have to be rooted for both though.
Xposed is easier, free and does lots of other awesome things

Go into accounts and add HTC Weather Service. Then enable High accuracy in location settings.
Weather will still Force close when you try to open it, but it will show the correct info in Blinkfeed launcher.
If anybody else is have trouble with this, remember to set the Blinkfeed page as home screen in Blinkfeed launcher

There's a tons of tools to uninstall system apps like Titanium backup. Or you can simply remove the apk and related files with a file manager.

Guys go to the link I posted on the first page (2nd post of this thread). That's the source of this app. It belongs to Team BlackOut. If you want to follow the actual development of this app, and not report bugs to some random person just sharing the app who hasn't replied back to this thread once, go there. There's probably newer versions since this OP posted this anyways.

What is App Optimization exactly?

Ok, I just received the N910FXXU1COJ3 OTA on my DBT N-910F with all the security updates. Great, but I did notice that the conveniet app manager feature that killed background processes inside Smart Manager is now gone and from the looks of things, there is a new "alternative" ambiguously called App optimization, within the battery section.
Now I for one am getting pretty tired of this inconsistency and constant feature swapping and come here seeking information. Can anyone actually clear things up for me and explain what exactly App optimization means. Will it simply kill the apps background services and if so, why is the minimum timeout 3 days? I also heard that it is more like a disable fuature for the selected apps, meaning no activity whatsoever, like notifications.
Is there any way that i can make use of the convenient "garbage collection" that Smart Manager used to offer, or am I hopelessly stuck dealing with Samsung`s ADD?
Thanks, any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Ok. I have a call recorder. It just happens to stop working after awhile. I went to app optimazation and disabled it. Does that mean now that my Call Recorder app doesn't apply to these rules and should never shut off or stop working if I disabled it for that app. It's so annoying because all of sudden your looking and your call isn't being recorded. I have to open the app...then it works again. Am I using the app optimazation option improperly?
When I bought the pro version; a message appeared explaining to disable app optimazation for the app so it continuously works. Is this right? And I'm just dealing with an app problem or I'm I not using this feature properly. I want my call recorder to always be working. [email protected]

App Optimization is Doze mode, that simple
You have to disable App Optimization for apps that should always run in background or be accessible without opening the app itself like Tesla Unread, Torchie, some reminder apps an some e-mail apps. In my expirience if an app is being optimized it will not show any notifications and such until "acitivized" by opening the app itself.

Apps that I don't need running in background and have used more battery than I think they should when in background are set to "Always power saving". Exaples: 9GAG. Previously I used Greenify for these apps.
Apps that need to stay active at all times are set to "Disable for". Examples: Reminders, Tesla Unread.
Most of other apps are set to "Automatically optimising".

Disable Auto Hide Softkeys

I had this app installed that provided the ability to autohide the softkeys, but decided to uninstall it. After rebooting the phone it still has the softkeys autohiding, and I am not sure where to look to disable this function.

I emailed the programmer but haven't heard back as of yet, and wonder if anyone else has an idea where to look to restore softkeys to default.

Did you restore the soft keys before uninstalling the app? That would be my first step. If that does not work, you'll have to reflash your rom.

Those screens in the App Store are no where to be found, not even in the paid version.
So I reflashed:
system.img
boot.img
vendor.img
But the softkeys are still autohiding. Looks like I need a complete wipe to get rid of it. I find it disheartening that the screenshots shown on the Appstore that show a way to disable the app are not actually part of the installed app.

Unfortunately, that's on the developer to maintain and they appear to be unhelpful. Everything should go back to normal after a factory reset. I suggest using a custom rom to auto hide those keys, if you are so inclined.
