Go into accounts and add HTC Weather Service. Then enable High accuracy in location settings.
Weather will still Force close when you try to open it, but it will show the correct info in Blinkfeed launcher.
If anybody else is have trouble with this, remember to set the Blinkfeed page as home screen in Blinkfeed launcher

I just read out about it at http://goo.gl/YncFW and I kinda liked it, so thought I'd share it here on xda.
I have done no modifications. So it would also work on some other phones.
I only tested on my desire.
hope u like it

it works on defrost or sense roms? or all?
Unzipping the files to my SD Card right now.
Pff looks really nice, works smooth to!
Only thing is i cannot sign into Facebook...entered the correct username+password. Says it's incorrect...
One other thing, when i press the phone icon in the launcher bar it says that the needed application isn't installed. Can i clear these settings to use stock Desire dialer? Or can i download the Dell dialer somewhere?

It looks really nic, but I'm having the same issues (facebook problem+phone icon) + when I try to set up an email account it says "com.dell.launcher has stopped unexpectedly"..
would be great to be able to scroll upd and down in the music widget instead of showing 12 random albums..
It wont recognise the phone app because the froyo launcher only recognises the stock Android dialer, which can't be installed on HTC phones. Made a thread on this, Google search stock froyo launcher HTC desire and its the first one. Haven't tried it with this dell skin yet, just got everything sorted on my on phone so not gonna mess with it for a good while!
This works fine. Except for the Facebook and email widget.

Well, if 2 out of 5 widgets don't work you can't really say that it "works fine", right?
Wow, i love the launcher and the gallery and music widget. Is it somehow possible to use the widgets with the sense launcher or the sense widgets with the sense launcher?

Gingerbread with Jelly Bean Skin

I tried to install Jelly Bean on my Optimus V, and got frustrated with not having Google Voice Search. I had originally enjoyed the BACKside ROM by JerryScript, I just wanted the Jelly Bean look and Google Now.
Well, after giving up on JB, I found out that I could get almost the same look and functionality on Gingerbread with some help with a few apps. I flashed a stripped down version of Gingerbread, and got to work. Here are the results:

(Maluuba, my Google Now replacement)
To get this, follow these steps:
1. flash Harmonia 2.09 (Google it).
2. Install the following apps from Google Play Store:
- Ice Cream Sandwich MDPI Theme
- Jelly Bean Wallpapers
- Holo Launcher
- Holo Locker
(I'm sorry I can't post links yet... noob)
3. When the pop up appears saying "Complete action using" choose Holo Launcher (not Holo Locker).
4. Enable the base theme by opening up the Theme Chooser app and selecting ICS. It will give an error, just ignore it and proceed.
5. Tweak all the other apps to get them how you want.
6. Go into the CyanogenMod settings and change the Notification power widget Indicator color to match the color of the icons in your status bar. Also, from the main CyanogenMod settings, find Lockscreen, go into Unlock options, and select Menu unlock. Then select Disable unlock slider.
7. To get the Google Now-like features, download an app from the Play store called Maluuba. It's pretty amazing, and the widget works just about how Google Now does, except for the unfortunate lack of Cards.
8. You're done! Enjoy your stable, pretty, fun new pretend Jelly Bean!
Note: If you have trouble with Holo Locker, install an app in the Play Store called Auto Memory Manager, go into the app and give Holo Locker priority.
Just so everyone is clear on this, none of these apps were created or are maintained by me. They all belong to their respective creators. I just thought it might help a few people to post how I am surviving not having Jelly Bean and how you can too.
For lock screen I recommend Holo locker, no wakelocks, no lags (I haven't tried magic locker, so can't compare...)

I updated the post with Holo Locker, but I was having trouble getting Holo Locker to work at first. It was very laggy and many times the system lockscreen, or the keyboard would show on top of it. I ended up figuring it out and switching back, but meanwhile I tried Magic Locker and it worked fairly well.
Were you able to use the rest of the tutorial?

I already had almost everything... , except the app Maluuba, which I searched on gplay but for some reason it didn't appeared (maybe due to build.prop present in cm7)
Edit: I opened a direct link from appbrain and it says it isn't available in my country :banghead:
Edit 2:I just sideloaded it , thx for sharing this beautifull app
I don't know what is making your holo launcher unusable, maybe you can try to uninstall magic locker first
Btw great guide

Flashlight?

Sorry for the dumb question but where is the flashlight (torch) app/button on the stock Verizon G2? I use it in the morning while collecting my work things so I don't wake the kids but since activating it yesterday I have yet to find it. Help a fellow out if you could.
Thanks

Dumb question: and for the international version D802? Mine doesn't seem to have neither App nor Widget. Which one are you guys using?
On D802 it's called Flash as well (under Widgets). Did you freeze or delete system apps?
@nomad4ever, non stock camera app or gallery or frozen?
That's weird. I triple checked in both the app drawer (under widgets and apps) and when long pressing on the desktop to add widgets, but it's just not there. I use Apex Launcher and apps frozen are only Google Chrome and Google Play Books, Music, Newsstand etc. I use the stock camera, the gallery is there, although I use Quickpic. Hmmmmm!

I think the Flash is somehow built into the stock launcher. I noticed this while I was transitioning to Nova launcher. Run LG launcher, I get the flashlight, Nova launcher, no flashlight.
The stock flashlight is a Widget only, you won't find it in apps.

Ah, maybe that explains it! I prefer Apex mainly because I could import my home screen layout of my old GNex (too lazy to set up everything manually again) and due to the more aesthetic folder options.
Gotta find a lean 3rd party Flash then... Alright.

There's a tons of tools to uninstall system apps like Titanium backup. Or you can simply remove the apk and related files with a file manager.
Looks really nice(clear). Have this weird background issue though when going into conversations.
If you scroll the convo it disappears to clear background, but still lol

Blackout is nice to, but a lot of screen flashing when entering and exiting conversations, and noticeable lag when trying to scroll through convo.
Great so far tho.

Very nice. Although it goes bat crazy when opening a big message thread then fc but it's progress...
Addressing MMS:
It fails to retrieve but it seems like it sends pictures just fine. I have sent pictures to myself but have to change messaging apps to retrieve them. Occasionally, it will give me an APN error of some sort.
Guys go to the link I posted on the first page (2nd post of this thread). That's the source of this app. It belongs to Team BlackOut. If you want to follow the actual development of this app, and not report bugs to some random person just sharing the app who hasn't replied back to this thread once, go there. There's probably newer versions since this OP posted this anyways.

Weather in Pixel Launcher

So I just updated to the newest Pixel Launcher from 19 Oct and installed to system/app. I then proceeded to clear data for the google app like we had to for google assistant settings/apps/system apps and I have weather on the home screen. You may want to give it a try since I know a bunch of people want the weather in the top corner. Let me know if it works for you!!
Another way is to go to the Google Now screen and pull down to refresh the weather. The weather shows up on the Pixel launcher widget as soon as this is done.

What exactly are you clearing? I went to my Google app and cleared the cache, but still no weather.
Thanks.
It showed for me yesterday after doing the google now cards, but now after I updated to 7.1.1 I am trying the same method and I just can't get the weather to show up. Is it working for anyone on 7.1.1 DP1?
Btw - I've also noticed that if you turn off google cards the weather won't update and will disappear in a few hours.

Hi
Make sure the location is on n go to the app permissions n turn on the location permission for pixel launcher. It works
Yeah I got it to work now, I do have to have Location turned ON and refresh cards so that it shows up. Unfortunately the weather doesn't seem to update automatically unless you turn location ON again and refresh cards... can the weather be updated without having location turned ON?

Installing help
Hello. Please could someone provide instruction how to install launcher without root as system app?
It appears my Pixel Launcher APK is installed in system/priv-app/ rather than just /system. What is the difference? Swipe to the left for Google Now is currently working, but the weather widget is not. This is with the latest 7.1.1 APK and location permission granted.
EDIT:
Nevermind, weather widget just started working.
