As I have had several samsung devices, S3, Note3, Note4, Note7 and now a Note 8, I feel at home with samsung's way

The camera app is nice. It does the trendy background blurring pretty well, switches between cameras and lenses smoothly, and encodes HDR pretty quickly. I only have a single complaint: If you record 4K video, it just turns off after 10 minutes. There was no warning on the screen that this would happen. No warning in the box. Nothing. There wasn't even a single beep or ding to tell me it stopped, so I could walk over and re-start it! I just missed about 40 minutes of irreplaceable video that I'll never have, because apparently Samsung just decided to implement this arbitrary limit in their camera app. Meanwhile, my friend with an old Nokia Lumia 950XL is recording 45 minutes of 4k video without a single hitch, without overheating. No problem at all for the old Windows Phone from a few years back! So, that's the biggest ugly mark on this otherwise great phone, about one week in (SM-N950f Exynos).

On par with other Android phones. But Sony should think like Nokia for manual mode.
Mine is about to be set up. Does anyone know if it has always on display and is there any other way to wake the phone
Software is awful. So 2014. No night mode. No raise to wake or ambient display. Also camera is the worst out there in this price range. Too much grain, too much detail loss, unsharpening everything, oh god...
Those little things makes the software and user experience. For me, xz1 is a failure and as always, sony will improve their next gen phones, and let the others die in shame.
after using It for almost a month, I can say it is fetureless piece of crap and although it is almost all stock it lags like hell. I regret swapping my oneplus 5.

Unfortunately the camera app is a real annoyance if you are in the wrong country.
I traveled to Japan which has the restrictions to always have a shutter sound seemingly. So the option to disable it was gone after logging in a Japanese provider.
Now I was that annoying foreigner standing in a nice quite place making terrible noise while taking pictures...despite everyone else didn't.
Okay I know it is the law. But do they have to turn the volume to maximum for it?
Even more annoying is using the panorama mode. Because it will make a shutter sound for EVERY picture it takes whilst. And thats several per seconds. So suddenly you turn into a machine gun photographer.
Imagine doing that in a temple or museum...
Couldn't be more embarrassing. I had to cover the speaker as best as possible to quiet it down.
The builtin Nokia Camera app is an utter disgrace, compared to what back.rider555 showed is possible on that hardware with his gcam port.

My software
Bought the phone for my mother (40 yo), it lags so much that it's barely usable. On incoming calls the screen turns black and reveals who's calling after about 5-10 seconds. If I had known that it would be that bad, then I'd rather go for pre-owned OG Google Pixel. Don't buy this phone unless you get an exceptional deal and planning on rooting it to remove all the Googleware.

Coming from a 4 years Zenfone 2 user, I fell like evolving backwards with R3Pro feature-wise.
Yes, Realme's Camera app is simple and easy to understand, and will certainly please most user. But I'm the type who appreciates more features and settings. Like many 'generic' phones today, in R3Pro there's not even option to change photo resolution. Sometimes I also use 480p video to record simple things, and video resolution option is not present in R3Pro. Luckily, anti-flicker is seems to be present (without any settings) and works well.
I got new software update just today and (I think) it adds the option to choose 30 or 60 fps in 720p or 1080p, and its awesome! Too bad I didn't have the 60fps option 2 days ago. I just went home from vacation where I record some videos using Open Camera app, I set to record in 1080p 60fps but strangely it outputs only 1080p 30fps.
AI works really well and recognizes the scene in 1 or 2 seconds. In-app editing is easy to navigate and has lots of options.

Camera quality is very bad
Can you elabaorate? I haven't had any issues with the quality, both in Auto and Manual mode. Yes, there's a bit of a pink-ish hue in the middle in low light but apart from that, I was able to take surprisingly nice photos with this phone. And for the camera app itself, it crashes after shooting a timelapse and you stop the post-processing but that's about it.
I also disagree. The camera is quite good. Especially when you take pictures at night. No function in manual mode has failed me.
Maybe a little bit of speed.
It's pure Android so everyone knows what to expect. Now version 10.
I like it very much, that is why i've bought it, have no complains.
