galaxy S7 wireless fast charger - Samsung Galaxy S8 Questions and Answers

Good day.
I am about to change from a galaxy S7 to an S8. :highfive:
My question here is, does the galaxy S7 wireless fast charger will charge my S8 at full speed?
I read that S8 has Adaptive Fast Charging and i don't know if Galaxy S7 wireless charger suports that.
BTW, does S8 Exynos version of the phone support Quallcom Fast Charge 4?
Thank you.

Yes it'll work, it only supports qc 2.0.

Samsung S7/S7 edge don't feature Quick Charge 3.0

Sadly, the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge are only outfitted with quick charge 2.0(Check Qualcomm news:https://www.qualcomm.com/news/snapd...-galaxy-s7-and-s7-edge-powered-snapdragon-820) Will samsung release the firmware to change the quick charge 2.0 to the 3.0 in future? Just like the HTC One A9.
Doesn't make sense that they would have a Chip that supports 3.0 and would limit it to 2.0 speeds...
S7 charges in 90mins, S7 Edge charges in 100mins.
Either way, I am not worried. 90 mins charge 3000mAh is pretty good.

[EXYNOS] Fast Charge Question

Hey,
I'll get the exynos Version of the S7 Edge and now i don't know wich charger should I buy?
Should I take a Quickcharge 3.0 charger? or will it damage the Batterie, because the S7 / S7E only supports QC 2.0 if i remember correctly?
thanks
It wont matter if its the 3.0 it wont stuff the phone, the phone will just limit the amount of charging power
QC 3.0 charger will not damage S7, even though S7 only can utilize QC 2.0 standard.
You guys excited? I cannot wait for my s7 edge i got mine in black onyx although im in australia the guys in usa getting it early make me jealous

S6 Wireless Charger for S8

Guys,
Do any of you know whether the S6 charing Pad will work for the S8?
I use this at work so not worried about fast charging but would be useful if it could do a standard charge like my S6 does.
Ta
Of course it'll work.
Using one currently. Works great. Charging isn't unbearably slow, either. I use it for overnight charging.

A Complicated Question on Wireless Fast Charging the S7 Edge

OK so the answer here probably isn't complicated, but the question is, hopefully I'll explain it right:
I've just bought an S7 Edge. My current wireless charger is the OEM samsung pad type for the S6 so pretty slow. Therefore I'm going to upgrade to either the OEM S7 fast wireless charger stand, or the OEM S8 fast wireless charger stand. The S7 one is cheaper and charges just as fast, however the S8 one has a USB-C connection, which could swing it for me depending on the answer to the following question:
Can I use the USB-C charger from my Acer R13 Chromebook and just plug it into the S8 pad/stand? Assuming I can will it fast charge (well, as fast as wireless can) or will only the adaptive OEM plug do that?
Thanks in advance
Err depends, as they're both usb-c I'd say yes. Check the s8 wireless charging pad's specifications (wattage, amperage etc) and see if they match with your laptops usb-c port specs. If they match (I believe higher amp = faster charging) then I'd say fast charging should work.

Can I power the fast charger with a USB-C laptop charger?

Posted this in the S7 forum too but posting here as it relates to the S8 charger. The answer here probably isn't complicated, but the question is, hopefully I'll explain it right:

Thanks. What's the reason? And will the R13 charger work regardless of capability to fast charge?
