[Q] Flashing different CSC file on J320A - Samsung Galaxy J3 (2016) Questions & Answers

Hi
1. Is it possible to flash J320F(or some other J320 modification) CSC file (for example, GER csc) to J320A(AT&T) ?
2. If yes, do I need to find csc file of a version with the same version/gen. of firmware? (AQA1 from J320(non-A) to J320A with AQA1 firm., and not for an example APJ2 of non-at&t to AQA1 at&t)
Is there is another method to change J320A's CSC ?
Thanks

Never messed around but heres our csc for you to inspect

CSC change ?

Hi, i can't change my CSC with *#272*imei#
I bought my phone in germany, and flash belgium Firmware (which is the country i live) but the CSC changed from DBT (Germany) to SEB (Baltic) how
bump
Usually to change the CSC you have to flash the new firmware (which you have done) but then also flash to change the CSC. - On previous Samsung's (Note 3) - you have to flash the firmware, wipe the device then insert your SIM and it changes to your region.
This *may* apply to the S5 also, but only way to actually tell would be to do it, extract the CSC info and flash it. If you're unsure how to do this, then I'd hold off for a little while until others have tested different methods or release a guide on how to change it.

[Q] Change CSC for Note 4 without root

Hi guys,
I would know, if it would be possible, when you flash a multiple csc firmware, if something exists like this for galaxy note 4 :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2208627
For exemple, I want to have a french XEF CSC code.
Roms with french CSC code in sammobile firmware are only multiple CSC's roms, and I can't switch CSC without rooting my phone.
Due to knox, I don't want to root my phone yet. So, if something exists to switch my "MET" CSC code to "XEF", I shall thank you.
Thank you!

Your in luck first make sure your phone is running this MET firmware, if it isn't then you'll need to install it before proceeding
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/37365/N910FXXU1ANJ4_N910FOXX1ANI6_MET.zip/
Assuming it is next step is to install this XEF (using Odin) as it uses the same PDA and MODEM files as the MET one so we won't have any problems later:
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/36930/N910FXXU1ANJ4_N910FOXX1ANI6_XEF.zip
Okay now your phone will have dual CSC codes. Check it with this :
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vndnguyen.phoneinfo&hl=en
Last step is to factory reset your phone, this will remove the MET CSC code and leave you with just XEF and you'll be able to receive OTA updates.
http://www.sammobile.com/forum/showthread.php?t=24346
I'm sorry, it doesn't work.
I just flashed MET version, after, I flashed XEF version
When I check into Phone info application, my CSC is already MET and not MET/XEF.
Another idea? Thx

Self Made firmware with chosen CSC

Hey Guys,
I wanna to ask you something : if I download a firmware (for exemple Poland Lollipop firmware) and I want to replace the CSC XEO by an other CSC from a Kitkat rom by replacing some files in the firmware (cache.img?), how can I do it without risk ?
Thank
There are multiple CSC in a rom just delete what you dont want .Or cut and paste the CSC files you want .
Hi. The problem is that there is no multiple CSC in Poland firmware, and you can't chose the CSC.
Then pick another firmware .
But i would not be convinced that the firmware only contains one CSC .Have you looked in the folder system/ csc.Or just change the Poland CSC to another .
Not sure why you want to replace Lollipop files with those of KitKat it makes no sense .
No I think I didn't express myself very clear, sorry for my bad english :
Lollipop is not available in my country (France), and I want to flash the lollipop firmware from for example Poland. But the Lollipop from Poland doesn't have french CSC (ie XEF) so I wanted to change the file inside the firmware ( repack a firmware) with a XEF coming from Kitkat rom.
Is that more clear ?
Other releases of lollipop have multiple CSC .
But you don't really need a csc for the phone to work .

Hi, try @Tkkg1994 CSC utility zip , you'll need TWRP to flash it, it has a huge range of CSC's to choose from:
[UTILITY][CSC][21.09.16][SM-G935F/FD/W8] Flashable CSC Selection V1.7

Download the latest firmware for your region
Extract PAK version download with 7-zip and copy the CSC
Flash firmware for your region BL/Ap/CP/CSC_PAK (the one extracted earlier) from PAK firmware
Only add the CSC from PAK firmware
Your device will be wiped.

Hi, I had a G928C with the same issue only the difference was I needed to migrate from PAK to XSG. So, what you need to do is, download a PAK firmware from sammobile and a BTU firmware (BTU is for the UK region). Flash BTU first and then right after a factory reset and then flash your PAK firmware, don't forget to do a factory reset otherwise your old csc will remain intact and don't root your phone please. Don't void the warranty.
The problem actually is most of the firmwares out there are MULTI-CSC so, your old CSC always remains intact, BTU on the other hand is a single CSC firmware so, your phone is forced to change it's CSC as there's only one CSC available when you perform the reset. So, when you'll flash the PAK after BTU your CSC will be changed to PAK from BTU.
So, you gotta do this XSG->BTU->PAK
And I repeat, please don't root your phone. There's no joy in that unless you really want to do something that actually requires a rooted phone.
Best of luck
P.S If you are able to get Factory firmware of PAK that would be great. (The one with separate CP,CSC,BL etc files with PIT as well).
I am using firmware BTU for SM-G935F can i change the firmware to PAK?

S5 Duos G900FD Baseband confusion: no update for my region/country + CP,AP,CSC differ

Dear XDA,
to get my fingerprint sensor working with Lineage-OS 7.1.2 on my S5 Duos, I want to update the baseband firmware.
Because I couldn't find any clear information of the region of my phone (*#1234# didn't work with lineage-os), and there is no firmware for my country/region, I thought I go the super-easy way to update via Kies3.
Done so, but unfortunately the baseband isn't updated, and there are no FOTA/Kies3 updates available. AP has been updated to the latest version (G900FDXXS1CQD2), but not the baseband ...
When I check AP,CP,CSC on now-stock rom with *#1234#, it says:
AP: G900FDXXS1CQD2
CP: G900FDXXU1CQA4 (as before Kies3-update)
CSC: g900FDOJV1CQB1
On sammobile.com and samsung-updates.com I find G900FDXXs1CQD2 firmwares, but nowhere they say whether it's AP, CSC or CP (the thing I need updated).
I think I don't mind the region as long as English and French is included and I can use LTE in (Western) Europe.
Two questions:
1)
a) when it says "Version" on (can't post urls) samsung-updates: is this the CP/Baseband?
b) similar on sammobile.com: There is PDA and CSC, both differing. But I need baseband/cp.
2) I understand that there are no carrier-specific firmwares (S5 duos apparently not sold by carriers?). So if version/pda is also baseband, which firmware do I download? There are 8 different firmwares with G900FDXXS1CQD2?
kind regards
1. Most likely it's AP, but CP should be the same as AP inside. Sorry, it looks like CQA4 is the latest CP for this S5 variant.
2. Most likely any if you're planning to flash modem only.
CPs will be the same.
Carrier firmwares within one S5 VARIANT and firmware VERSION differ by CSC and hidden partition size.
