[REBRANDING][RESTORING] AIO Guide - Honor 8 Pro Guides, News, & Discussion

1. Recover to FULL STOCK
Info
Following this guide wipes your data and locks the bootloader fully again!
Make sure you backed up your personal data and have your unlock code written down somewhere.
If you have TWRP installed flash the NoCheck recoveries from the rebranding guide below.
Firmware Database
* DUK-AL20C00B173 - Download
* DUK-L09C10 (** Uploading **)
* DUK-L09C432 (** Uploading **)
* DUK-L09C900B122 - Download
Tutorial
1. download the firmware for your model
2. extract the fw_DUK-<model number>.tar.gz file
3. format your MicroSD as ExFAT (Fat32 is limited to 4gb file transfer size)
4. copy the extracted dload folder in the root directory of your MicroSD
5. shutdown the device, insert the MicroSD and disconnect the USB cable
6. boot device using VOL+, Vol- and POWER and keep this combo pressed until the recovery process starts
7. once finished your device should reboot and be back in a working state
2. Rebranding
Info
Rebranding is available for the following devices at the moment:
* DUK-AL20C00
* DUK-L09C432
* DUK-L09C900
this process requires attention and patience aswell as an unlocked bootloader.
Your data will be wiped a few times, so be sure you made a backup before starting.
Also dump your current oeminfo just in case yours is not available for download (see tutorial).
I've successfully rebranded my device from C900 to C432, but i'm not responsible for damaged devices.
Because some users were able to rebrand their Honor V9 to H8 Pro (AL20C00 -> L09C432) i also added
H V9 OEMInfo and firmware to be able to rebrand vice-versa.
After rebranding you will continue to get OTA updates!
Be sure to follow the tutorial!
Prerequisites
* Unlocked bootloader
* TWRP installed
OEMInfo Database
* DUK-AL20C00 - oeminfo_DUK-AL20C00.bin - Download
* DUK-L09C900 - oeminfo_DUK-L09C900.bin - Download
* DUK-L09C432 - oeminfo_DUK-L09C432.bin - Download
Tutorial
1. download the corresponding oeminfo for the model you want to rebrand to
(e.g. you want to rebrand to C432, so you download DUK-L09C432 oeminfo)
2. place oeminfo_DUK-<model number>.bin (e.g. oeminfo_DUK-L09C432.bin) in the root of your micro sd card
3. flash OEMInfo through TWRP terminal:
Code:
dd if=/external_sd/oeminfo_DUK-<model number>.bin of=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/oeminfo
4. flash both stock recovery files via fastboot
Code:
DUK-RECOVERY-NoCheck.img - [URL="https://mega.nz/#!TkwjmSRB!O5-2dMXJGHzAnBFOzVLuURKwykzranv4Til_5GqE418"]Download[/URL]
DUK-RECOVERY2-NoCheck.img - [URL="https://mega.nz/#!qkQhERRR!i3akZFgk1Cx9kjPDee58gw4w8LkWe2BXRoz4n9eL8ZE"]Download[/URL]
[B]flash commands:[/B]
fastboot flash recovery DUK-RECOVERY-NoCheck.img
fastboot flash recovery2 DUK-RECOVERY-NoCheck.img
5. download one of the following stock roms depending on the region you want to rebrand to
(e.g. you want to rebrand to C432, so you download DUK-L09C432 firmware)
Code:
DUK-AL20C00B173 - [URL="https://mega.nz/#!D0xghY4A!jhpOY0wL7LF_yc4J3p4mDwvoVDyLYQeY7hbkm-hcV4g"]Download[/URL]
DUK-L09C432B120 - [URL="https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B134drJ4-Ed0b2ZVY1JSZExYaUk"]Download[/URL]
DUK-L09C900B122 - [URL="https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B134drJ4-Ed0T1B5RlRldkN4Q00"]Download[/URL]
this also locks your bootloader again (yes reset your bootloader, not just relocking)
6. extract the downloaded .tar file
7. copy the dload folder to the root of your micro sd
(make sure you format it as exfat, because fat32 is limited to 4gb file transfer size)
8. shutdown device
9. ensure you have usb cable disconnected
10. start device using vol+, vol- and power, keep the combination pressed until the upgrade starts
11. (OPTIONAL) boot into eRecovery, just like you would do to boot TWRP, and do a factory reset
12. (OPTIONAL) re-unlock your bootloader
3. Updating to unapproved OTAs
Info
this process requires attention and patience aswell as an unlocked bootloader.
Your bootloader will be relocked most likely, so be sure you backed up your data before starting.
Sucessfully tried updating from DUK-L09C432B130 -> DUK-L09C432B182.
Be sure to follow the tutorial!
Prerequisites
* Unlocked bootloader
* TWRP installed
* running stock, unrooted firmware to prevent compatibility issues
Tutorial
1. download the last (unapproved) update for your device (e.g. B182)
Code:
[I]how to do this?[/I]
firmware database: [URL="http://hwmt.ru/hwmtsite/firmware-database/?firmware_model=DUK&firmware_page=0"]http://hwmt.ru/hwmtsite/firmware-database/?firmware_model=DUK&firmware_page=0[/URL]
[B]Only FullOTA-MF are supported![/B]
1. click on [B]filelist[/B] for the version you want to download (the lines interesting for you are those starting with <vendorInfo)
2. fetch the links ... (depending on the update those can only be 2 files instead of 3)
update.zip - [COLOR="red"]http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G1635/g104/v90811/f2/full[/COLOR]/[COLOR="green"]update.zip[/COLOR]

3. download all files

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
2. boot into TWRP
3. create HWOTA folder in the root of your internal storage (yes, it can be encrypted as long as you don't try to boot the device again)
4. move the firmware zip files into the previously created HWOTA folder
5. execute the following commands in twrp terminal
Code:
1. "mkdir /data/update" (without the quotes)
2. "mv /sdcard/HWOTA /data/update/HWOTA" (without the quotes)
6. flash both nocheck erecovery files via twrp
Code:
place them in the root of your internal storage!
DUK-RECOVERY-NoCheck.img - [URL="https://mega.nz/#!TkwjmSRB!O5-2dMXJGHzAnBFOzVLuURKwykzranv4Til_5GqE418"]Download[/URL]
DUK-RECOVERY2-NoCheck.img - [URL="https://mega.nz/#!qkQhERRR!i3akZFgk1Cx9kjPDee58gw4w8LkWe2BXRoz4n9eL8ZE"]Download[/URL]
[B]twrp terminal commands:[/B]
dd if=/sdcard/DUK-RECOVERY-NoCheck.img of=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/recovery_a
dd if=/sdcard/DUK-RECOVERY2-NoCheck.img of=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/recovery2_a
after flashing went good, delete both images from your internal storage again
7. zip files have to be added to the recovery command for a proper update process
Code:
[B]in twrp terminal:[/B]
echo --update_package=/data/update/HWOTA/<zip file> > /cache/recovery/command
depending on the number of zips you downloaded you have to execute the command multiple times, e.g.:
echo --update_package=/data/update/HWOTA/update.zip > /cache/recovery/command
echo --update_package=/data/update/HWOTA/update_data_full_public.zip >> /cache/recovery/command
echo --update_package=/data/update/HWOTA/update_full_DUK-L09_hw_eu.zip >> /cache/recovery/command
8. check if you have any left-over data inside the internal storage you may forgot to remove (e.g. NoCheck recovery)
9. reboot recovery, update process should now start (this replaces the NoCheck recovery aswell)
10. (OPTIONAL) boot into eRecovery, just like you would do to boot TWRP, and do a factory reset
11. (OPTIONAL) re-unlock your bootloader

Do you have any change in supported LTE networks?
I am wondering maybe this one will enable the B20 frequency. Not sure if there is any difference in hardware between 8 Pro and V9.

This one can check the available bands. Actually we will know it only if you live in a B20 area.

Hi Sweetjuice could you confirm that your v20 is working well with the Honor 8 pro firmware? I'm in same position as you on that I'm on the v9 China and really want to get rid of the China apps and even with Google play services on it I don't have a fully working Google assistant. Your feedback would be immense thanks mate

Thank you so much. My AL20 had successfully degrade with the help of your unchecked erecovery!

The absolute way to roll back from 513 and 511 to Lollipop

Hi everyone,
Roll Back from 513 to 331 all credit for @chudy_85 check the link here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=65371195&postcount=207
this is the absolute way to roll back from Marshmallow B511 to any previous version whatever it's a lollipop or kitkat.......
(As usual the risk is on your responsibility)
New edit
Working now on MT7-L09
Thx to pasquyx and Shadow_recruit for testing it on MT7-L09
you should have root on the device
Files you may need:
1- Roll back file (this is the trick)- BOTH MODEL
DRIVE
LINK
UPLOADED
LINK
MEGA
LINK
2- rom B326 for middle east
(MT7-TL10)
LINK
(MT7-L09)
LINK
3- oeminfo file for China (don't worry it will not change the iemi numbers)
LINK
3- FX FILE EXPLORER
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nextapp.fx
4- FX ROOT ADD
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nextapp.fx.rr
5- Build.prop file if you device model showing Jazz
(MT7-TL10)
https://mega.nz/#!20QXmKrZ!HYhN_7u0sBc445C_6r6D4ug2HuqdCgM_721ANosUa9g
(MT7-L09) *NEED TO TEST FROM ANY ONE TO CONFIRM IF IT WORKING
https://mega.nz/#!XhxR2BpD!O6xkfX8MR55imidxwNlH9p3r2ugLOYwnM-dheTOQT38
-extract the file what you donloaded for oeminfo on ext sdcard
-open fx file explorer and grant it from SU, go to system root and make sure you mount read-write
-copy oeminfo from the extsdcard to /dev/block/platform/hi_mci0/by name and agree for overwrite, after that select the file and choose security and mark for all "read-write-exec"
-copy custom.bin for extsd to /data then choose security and mark for all "read-write-exec"
-check the country info now by *#*#2846579## if it cn, so you are on the right way
-now make a restart but first you should be on official recovery, if you are not turn off the phone open it again on bootloader and flash the official recovery ten restart
-after restart it should make "optimizing"
-after it finish take the roll back and put it in dload on the extsd
-make a local update ( if you don't have it go to dial and type *#*#2846579#*#* and choose 4)
after you make a local update the roll back should complete 100% because this file is the only roll back that compitable with B511
I promise you it will success with 100%
then put lollipop rom 326 on dload and make local update
and again I promise you it will success with 100%
-if the device didn't open after 10 mins, flash all files for the 326 by fastboot
Boot
Cache
Recovery
Cust
System
Userdata
-now you have a 326 rom but chines version.
-make root again and replace oeminfo and custom.bin for middle east version here then make a restart
LINK
final step is to make a reset from settings

Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
Yes, i noticed it. Just downloaded all needed files for L09, i will try later and see what happens.
Tried on l09 but it fails in transition package. downloaded all the files from huawei finnish site. Well, i think i just wait for the complete marshmallow image.
there is something with whatsapp notification, because i don't allways get new message notifications and also usb-debug and hisuite dont work. when i enable usb-debug and connect cable, it won't rise flag about permmisions and computer keeps saying that device is unathorized.

Files you may need:
1- Roll back from lollipop to Kitkat (this is the trick)
DRIVE
LINK
UPLOADED
LINK
MEGA
LINK
2- for me i tired with kitkat rom B119 sp03
LINK
3- extract all file from B119 Sp03 and be ready to flash all of them via (fastboot)
(so may unlock your bootloader and you should have all files for adb and fastboot)
*recovery
*boot
*cache
*cust
*system
*userdata
it's an easy way, no need to change the location or make any special things \\\\\
download the rollback file which I mentioned before, put it on dload on the extSdcard, and make a local update ( if local update not showing for you try a search for HwOUC.zip and flash it with Twrp recovery)
after you make a local update the roll back should complete 100% because this file is the only roll back that compitable with B511
then put what you want kitkat or lollipop rom ( for me I tried with B119sp03 kitakt and it's fail on 40%)
now enter the bootloader mode and flash all img's for the rom which you tried to flash
after finishing it opne on a stock android, so no issue try a factory reset and everything will be normal after that
Edit (important): to prevent the fail on 5% you should check the location on your device by this code
*#*#2846579#*#*
It should be hw/meafnaf (middle east version)
If it showing "file is not found" try to make a reset from settings>>backup/restore
This is important edit due to the update of B511 is for middle east.....

You should go into bootloader mode and open the command window from the folder that contain the stock recovery by pressing Sift from keyboard and right bottom in the mouse and choose open command window here, then type the following
fastboot flash recovery xxx.img
Replace "xxx" with the name of the img
If it showing okay then failed
Try to unlock the bootloader again by typing
fastboot oem unlock 0000000000
Replace 00000 with your unlock code
Then try to flash again

Hello guys,
This is my first guide and it is focused on people who just bought their Redmi Note 3 (KENZO/KATE) and having problems with officially unlocking their bootloader. (stuck @ 50% like me)
If you don't want to wait on stock MiUi until you can officially unlock your bootloader (because you need to wait additional ~2 weeks after you received permission from Xiaomi until their servers updated) or you want that extra security layer with locked bootloader this guide is made for you!
Since official LineageOS 14.1 just released, i thought some of you guys are interested in this awesome, easy and safe method.
To save you time searching hours and hours through this forum i made this quick summery.
Downloads :
MiUi 8 Global Developer ROM 6.11.3: KENZO or KATE
ZCX TWRP (direct downloadlink: click here)
Mi Flash 6.8.30
Latest firmware (choose correct device)
[ROM][OFFICIAL][7.1.1][kenzo] LineageOS 14.1 by The_strix
Open GApps - ARM64 - Android 7.1
Instructions : (follow them carefully!)
Extract MiUi 8 Global Developer ROM and replace recovery.img (in images folder) with ZCX TWRP's recovery.img
Flash using Mi Flash (in EDL mode) and check clean_all
After finished flashing process unplug and press [volume up]+[power] until Mi logo shows up then release buttons and it boots to TWRP (change TWRP language from chinese to english: click here)
Reboot to system (if you get prompt: "Disable stock recovery replace now" > just swipe to allow disable)
Boot to MIUI and complete initial setup (important step - don't skip! first boot will take around 10 minutes)
-----------------------------------------------
Shutdown device and boot to TWRP again
(optinal) Backup every partition and safe this backup on an external device
Wipe > Advanced Wipe > check Dalvik / ART Cache, System, Data, Internal Storage, Cache > Swipe to Wipe
Flash Latest firmware, LineageOS 14.1 and GApps (ARM64, Android 7.1)
Reboot to system and you're DONE!!
updated method (works with newest MIUI version) :
There is a new updated method by kuan improved by @N.G. and @razr_96. Thanks for mentioning.
Advantages:
no need to download full MIUI fastboot rom
much faster method, only takes seconds to flash (instead of 4 minutes and you don't have to complete initial MIUI setup which also takes around 5 minutes)
this method is better if you want to stay on MIUI and just want to root
you can stay on your current MIUI version (even 7.1.19 which is currently the latest) and don't have to wipe your data
Disadvantages:
this doesn't clean everything, i would recommend to clean everything if you want to install a custom rom
you have to download a file i can not verify
Instructions : (follow them carefully!)
(optinal) Backup your current MIUI data (Settings > Additional settings > Backup & reset > Local backups > Back up) and copy it to an external media
Download and extract: Kenzo or Kate
(optinal) Replace included ZCX TWRP recovery.img (in images folder) with your preferred TWRP recovery.img
Flash using Mi Flash 20160401 (in EDL mode) and check flash all except data and storage (not clean_all like in the method mentioned above)
BE AWARE: This MiFlash version is different to the MiFlash version mentioned above! This version does only support 64 bit systems and you need atleast Windows 7!
After finished flashing process unplug and press [volume up]+[power] until Mi logo shows up then release buttons and it boots to TWRP (change TWRP language from chinese to english: click here)
Reboot to system

Troubleshooting :
[APP][ROOT][7.1.1]QuickSettings Flashlight fix for all nougat roms
If something goes wrong, start over again and follow my guide step by step.
This guide only works with MiUi 8 Global Developer ROM 6.11.3 or lower.
Put MIUI 8 Global Developer ROM in "C:\ROM" - MiFlash tends to have problems if there are any spaces in folder names.
If you flashed something wrong and have no simcard signal anymore or no IMEI look here for help: EFS Recovery Guide
If you didn't remove your passcode before you did a backuprestore using TWRP:
TWRP > Advanced > Filemanager > /data/system > delete locksettings.db
Issues with locked bootloader :
none
(advanced technique) Higher security with locked bootloader:
Thanks @LeoYL !
A little addition: If you want a even higher level of security, which is nobody except you can flash packages in recovery, you can create a recovery with limited functions and forced signature verification, with your own keys embedded in that recovery.
This is just like the original status of nearly all Android devices when they are shipped: only signed OTA update packages can be applied via recovery. Normally, the packages are signed by OEMs; however, you can become the "OEM" by creating your own private key, which is used during package signing.
Just follow these guides to create a recovery with your own keys. I use CM 13.0 recovery, since it only has basic recovery features, including installing a ZIP file, factory reset, and it has mandatory ZIP signature verification.
http://mjg59.dreamwidth.org/31765.html
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=62796459&postcount=2
The reason why I don't use TWRP is that it allows update packages with any signature. Although you can enforce signature verification, it can also be switched off in TWRP settings.
Now you get a recovery which only accepts ZIP packages that are signed with your own private key. The only downside is you need to sign every package you want to flash each time. But this also means that if a stranger picks your lost phone up, they can't tamper your phone's OS. If the "reset protection" feature works with locked bootloader on our Redmi Note 3, the only distance between our phones' security and Google devices' is edl mode and encryption.
Wanna try other custom roms?
Just follow this guide and you can flash every other nougat customrom as well like:
[ROM]AOSIP 5.5 for Redmi Note 3(Kenzo)[OFFICIAL BUILDS]
[ROM][Nightlies][android-7.1.1_r6]ResurrectionRemix 5.8.0[OFFICIAL][VoLTE]
[ROM][OFFICIAL][Weekly][7.1.1_R13][Slim 7 For Kenzo]

The guide you linked is not working for me, thats why i made this guide which works 100%.
I tried this with the Global developer ROM for my kenzo.
When I try to get into TWRP, the Mi logo flashes but nothing else happens.
When I let the MIUI ROM start up and try to get into the recovery again,
it only shows me to connect my device to the Mi PC Manager.
What am I doing wrong?

Did you follow my instructions correctly?
- replaced recovery.img with ZCX TWRP recovery.img - check?
- EDL mode - check?
- remove usb cable after flash and press volume up+power button until mi logo shows up and then release buttons - check?
- are you sure you have kenzo version? did you download rom for kenzo? - check?
!! caution: the rom linked in this guide is only for kate version!!
thank you ! I've been trying the official route for 6 weeks, getting absolutely nowhere (even though I finally do have unlock permission).
this method worked like a charm, finally I'm off MIUI and running LineageOS

1. I guess, do I have to replace only the recovery.img or more? If only recovery.img, then yes!
2. Yes, otherwise MiFlash would give me an error instead of flashing the ROM
3. Yes, but it appears only for an blink of an eye and then disappears again, the phone screen then stays dark
4. Yes, the newest one. Maybe that's the problem?

Yes, that's the problem! This method only works until version 6.11.3.
You have to flash 6.11.3 (or earlier) to get TWRP and then you can flash what you want.
Good luck!
Excellent :good:
To boot into EDL
If you are lost with chinese language in TWRP, look at the first screenshot
And for Gapps take 64bits
Hi, I just got this ROM but when I plug the device in my computer it keeps connecting/disconnecting rapidly. Did I do something wrong?
Very helpful, but i would like to suggest people to use miunlocktool from windows 7-32 bit operating system. Miunlocktool perfectly works in windows 7 & don't stuck at 50%. Before unlock process, just "add oem unlocking device" from MIUI developer setting then start unlocking process..... Its really works for me & also others who followed these steps.

Can we please stop to suggest to unlock officially with different guides? This guide is for people who don't want to or can't unlock officially.

I also said that million times to other people who suggest me different types of official method. When i success after trying couple of methods then i realized it is possible to unlock kate. I'm not saying that your post is not helpful, i saw many post like that, mostly in whirlpool forum. BTW, good luck with your tips :good:
Sure it is possible to unlock Kate officially but you have to wait for Xiaomi to get permission and wait for their servers to syncronize.
You have to wait up to 1 month (depending on your location and other things) until their servers confirms that you have permission to unlock (unable to verify thing). All these guides outside are working but it's a matter of time until they start working. That's why they didn't work for you in first place. :good:

You are using a really old MiFlash version, try updating to the version mentioned in this guide.
And rename your folder "Redmi note 3 pro" to "Redmi.note.3.pro" or "Redmi_note_3_pro".
MiFlash tends to have problem with spaces.

[Guide] Nougat with DRM fix, root and TWRP* (SGP771)

Do not work with Nougat 7.1.1 / 32.4.A.0.160 (Bootloop)
New TWRP (You dont need otg and mouse anymore!):
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=745425885120733410 (thanks to andralex8!)
GUIDE UPDATED, TESTED AND SIMPLIFIED 15.2.2017 (thanks to munjeni)
Tested with Saudi Arabia, Germany and Nordic (.378) firmwares
I managed to get my Xperia Z4 Tablet (SGP771) LTE model to have root, TWRP-recovery*, munjenis DRM fix and Adaway working with Nougat firmware (Saudi Arabia). I will share steps that I have done with my own tablet. If this guide brick your device or something goes wrong, I am not responsible for loss of your device. Use this guide only with your own RISK!
This tutorial is not for beginners. You need to have working adb installed yout pc, unlocked tablet, sonys special driver for fastboot. and TA backup (example TA-21062016.img). Use only this tutorial with Sony USB-cable.
*To get TWRP working, you need: OTG-cable and a mouse with wire or wireless mouse with a dongle.
0. Download Nougat 32.3.A.0.376 (Saudi Arabia) firmware with Xperiafirm 32.3.A.0376. to your PC
1. Flash Nougat 32.3.A.0.376 (Saudi Arabia) with Flashtool 0.9.23.2.
2. Boot your device and enable Developer settings from setting
3. Enable USB debugging setting from Developer settings
4. Download Supersu and Magisk to your device:
https://s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/supersu/download/zip/SuperSU-v2.79-201612051815.zip
http://tiny.cc/latestmagisk
5. Shutdown your device
6. Download munjenis DRM fix and serajr script package v2 to your pc:
http://munjeni.myiphost.com/ta_poc.rar
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=70959962&postcount=65
7. Decompress files from munjeni and serajir to same folder.
8. Extract kernel.sin from your nougat firmware ftf (You can use 7zip to do this). Copy it to same folder with DRM fix. Rename kernel.sin to kernelX.sin
9. Copy your TA backup to same folder with DRM fix and rename it TA.img
10. Open Cmd with admistrator persimmions and use DOUBLECLICKME_NOUGAT.bat (search cmd rght mouseclick use admistrator).
11. Follow munjenis tool tutorial: You can choose if you want Sony Ric off. I left it on but turned dm verity off.
12. Download TWRP: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B0j3VJ1Xp5N8cnhQamtxRWVtRmc
13. Press vol up and connect your device to pc to use fastboot. Use command: fastboot flash boot new_boot.img
14. After that use command: fastboot flash recovery TWRP-3.0.2-0-20160604.img
15. Disconnect your device and put otg-cable to tablets usb and connect mouse to otg-cable.
16. Press vol down + power to boot to TWRP. Touchscreen is not workin but you can use your mouse to navigate in TWRP!
17. Allow TWRP to make changes to your device and flash Supersu 2.79 and Magisk 11.1.
18 Boot your device and install magisk manager from the play store.
19. Enable from magisk manager settings: busybox, magisk hide and systemless hosts and Install Adaway (Will not work without Magisk, strange).
I have not managed to get my CTS profile approved but that is not major issue if not playing with Pokemon go (You can use magisk to detect this).
Note1 : Change LTE to 1 priority from mobile setting. Default for SA firmware is GSM
Note2: If you have already tried rootkernel to get drm working; do a full wipe and reflash firmware with flashtool. Rootkernel messes something. Tablet do not boot if you have used rootkernel and after that try to use munjenis DRM fix.
Note3: Magisk 11.1 wont work with Xperia Z4 Tablet without Supersu. So flash Supersu first and Magisk 11.1 after that
Note4: You cannot boot to TWRP by using root and reboot to recovery apps. You need to boot to the recovery with keycommand voldown+power
I hope this guide helps some fellow flashers
Special thanks for

Strange, I Did not encourter this problem because I could boot to TWRP and do adb trick there. Do you use orginal Sony usb to flash in fastboot? I had once a problem with Samsung Phone (S7) to flash recovery because the usb was not the one that came with my Phone.
Yeah
Try redownload TWRP image and flash it. If not working do a clean flash and try again or wait for Androplus kernel

Thanks
I am not sure. You need atleast a correct TWRP. You can try if You dare with your own RISK
But I doubt that it wont work..

Step 8 says Extract kernel.sin from your nougat firmware copy it to same folder with DRM fix. Rename kernel.sin to kernelX.sin. Do I have to extract that from the ftf or my Nougat firmware im currently using? Also does the ftf have to be that region?

You need to extract it from ftf-image. I used 7zip. My device was Nee with stock. I used DE with Marshmallow and I am currently using Saudi Arabia. So I dont think it will matter, which kernel you use with your device. But I would use same kernel version with rom. So If you are using Saudi Arabia rom use Saudi Arabia kernel. For Russia rom use Russia kernel, and so on
I will add tft-image extract to tutorial!
DRM fix doesn't work. XReality (among other things I assume) are ever disabled.
On Marshmallow DRM fix was working fine (was using XReality engine despite the unlocked bootloader)
For me it is working!

Have you unlocked the bootloader?
Hi guys. Sombody help me. How can i flash magisk on my p9 plus, i try many twrp, but everytime i see loop?
New release is up - TWRP 3.1.1-0 for P9 Plus.
Kernel should now support loop from b381 onwards.
Check OP for download link and github for more information!
P9 Plus Releases + Changelog
Regards
I'm sorry for the inconvenience but i forgot to exclude the special directory inside the /data partition during wipe/factory reset.
I've re-uploaded the fixed release, so everyone who had already installed 3.1.1-0 should now re-download and re-install.
Best regards
I'm sorry if this question has been asked somewhere else before, but can I flash an OTA update (extracted .zip) using TWRP, while keeping TWRP and SU?
It's quite bothersome to go back to full-stock, lock the bootloader, run the update, unlock the bootloader and root again, just for a minor update like B360 to B370.
I'm currently on B360 with TWRP 3.1.0 and SuperSU (rooted).

Hi, I can tell you in advance that NO, at least with an earlier version and that in principle it is only for normal P9.
Actually, you could only install that recovery, but with that I do not know what to tell you.
Anyway, due to the internal form of Huawei updates, they can not be installed since twrp, at least I have not been able to, nor anyone I know.
Sorry for my bad English, I do not know, and I use a translator.

How to install ROM Stock Oreo with Nougat firmware (1.27.401.11 DUGL)

Are you tired of waiting for OREO to arrive? The purpose of this guide is intended for those wishing to install Android Oreo without updating the Nougat firmware currently in use. I have personally performed this procedure successfully and I will explain how did it.
REQUIREMENTS
· Have current firmware Android 7.1.0 - Nougat (version 1.27.401.11) already in use in your phone;
· Bootloader unlocked;
· Twrp 3.2.x-x installed (see the latest version.)
CAUTION
Before proceeding it is good to backup your data (I suggest using Nandroid Backup included in TWRP).
Download the following files to the PC (Windows operating system):
1. TWRP_Backup_Untouched_System_Image_+_Boot_2.31.400.6_OCEAN_DUGL (Rom stock Indiana - dual sim - very similar to the European version);
2. http://www.leedroid.co.uk/Stable_Builds/Oreo_Radio_BT_DSP_TWRP_Flashable_v2_Euro.zip;
3. twrp-3.2.x-x-ocn.img (to always keep at hand ... you never know!);
4. Magisk 15.x (also included Magisk Manager 5.5.x).
Once you have downloaded the files to your PC, proceed as follows:
- Extract the contents of the file of point 1) on the PC and copy it to the External SD card in the TWRP \\ BACKUPS \\ FA 'xxxxxxxxxx' folder (where 'xxxxxx' is the exact name you have and it contains the backups of your Roms!;
- Copy the file from point 2) 3) and 4) to the root directory of your External SD card (or even to a folder created by you as you wish).
INSTALLATION
• Restart your phone in TWRP Recovery mode;
• Perform a complete full wipe;
• Install the file containing the radio, bluetooth and dsp in step 2);
• Now execute the file Recovery in step 1) (2017-12-22-07-37-51_My_2.31.400.6_0 ....... with this name);
• Do not restart yet: install the file in step 4);
• Finally install as image (Install image) the file in step 3) putting the check to the item 'Recovery' (so you are sure that TWRP there is ... you never know!);
• Restart and enjoy OREO!

When you get back to TWRP, you can also enable file system writing ...obviously being Oreo with Nougat firmware there will be limitations ...
CAUTION
Remember that to go back you must enter Download Mode and run the RUU corresponding to your firmware that you have in your smartphone: it is the cleanest way to restore it without the need to be S-OFF: this procedure will erase all the data in the internal memory of your phone.
Last thing: do not be scared if you see that it takes time when you restart or turn off your phone ... it's normal ..
Sorry if my English is not perfect ...
At this time the roll out of Android 8.0 was announced for Europe too.....
update to Oreo
Hello,
Please kindly provide whether this method of Oreo installation will also work in case of firmware 1.27.89.10. Bootloader unlocked, S-ON.
Best regards

Take a read and a look at my guides thread. There you'll find out about how to flash a RUU to upgrade your ROM to Oreo. RUUs can be found in my spreadsheet and if the required one isn't yet available you might have to look at some payed service portals like e.g. IR-File or easy-firmware if it is already available over there. As HTC doens't provide RUUs for download free ofcharge outsinde the US, this most of the time is the only solution available.

Hello, thank you for your reply. I've managed to install Oreo (LeeDroid) after bootloader unlocking and TWRP instalation, radio, etc. following instructions from XDA. All seems to work fine but after it doesn't, I've had some problems with applications running. I'm asking my self now why I've done it then, but I've tried to get back to stock ROM by TWRP restore... I exectute backup from SD card and something went wrong and now I have problem... i'm stuck in boot loop. I can run stock recovery but when I'm trying to install stock ROM by update form SD card or ADB sideload I receive: e footer is wrong e:/ signature verification failed installation aborted or unable to open sysfs usb node.. Is there any way to fix it?

Are you sure you're using the correct RUU fpr your model, do CID, and MID macht, did you use the extSD card method describend in my guides thread?
What's the first we need to help? Exactly a fastboot getvar all and a full an precise description of the file you're trying to use (incl. a link where you downloaded it if possible).
Thank you for your reply. I managed to run my HTC in safe mode, (I guess) next I've followed instructions how to returrn to stock ROM wit RUU and finally restore stock ROM. Now all is ok.

Update to Oreo
Hello,
Can anyone answer please?
I assume the above poster found the info requested, as there are plenty of guides and info to do just that.
Break Break
My question is can you extract the radio image from an older firmware and flash it? i.e., can I install the latest Oreo, or even PIE once it's ready, and if I still have radio issues, just flash the Nougat 7.1.1 radio firmware? I know how to get the firmware, I know how to extract the radio image, I believe I know how to flash it in download mode. Before experimenting, was hoping someone could give me some expertise before trying it.
Thanks!!
