How to install ROM Stock Oreo with Nougat firmware (1.27.401.11 DUGL) - HTC U11 Guides, News, & Discussion

Are you tired of waiting for OREO to arrive? The purpose of this guide is intended for those wishing to install Android Oreo without updating the Nougat firmware currently in use. I have personally performed this procedure successfully and I will explain how did it.
REQUIREMENTS
· Have current firmware Android 7.1.0 - Nougat (version 1.27.401.11) already in use in your phone;
· Bootloader unlocked;
· Twrp 3.2.x-x installed (see the latest version.)
CAUTION
Before proceeding it is good to backup your data (I suggest using Nandroid Backup included in TWRP).
Download the following files to the PC (Windows operating system):
1. TWRP_Backup_Untouched_System_Image_+_Boot_2.31.400.6_OCEAN_DUGL (Rom stock Indiana - dual sim - very similar to the European version);
2. http://www.leedroid.co.uk/Stable_Builds/Oreo_Radio_BT_DSP_TWRP_Flashable_v2_Euro.zip;
3. twrp-3.2.x-x-ocn.img (to always keep at hand ... you never know!);
4. Magisk 15.x (also included Magisk Manager 5.5.x).
Once you have downloaded the files to your PC, proceed as follows:
- Extract the contents of the file of point 1) on the PC and copy it to the External SD card in the TWRP \\ BACKUPS \\ FA 'xxxxxxxxxx' folder (where 'xxxxxx' is the exact name you have and it contains the backups of your Roms!;
- Copy the file from point 2) 3) and 4) to the root directory of your External SD card (or even to a folder created by you as you wish).
INSTALLATION
• Restart your phone in TWRP Recovery mode;
• Perform a complete full wipe;
• Install the file containing the radio, bluetooth and dsp in step 2);
• Now execute the file Recovery in step 1) (2017-12-22-07-37-51_My_2.31.400.6_0 ....... with this name);
• Do not restart yet: install the file in step 4);
• Finally install as image (Install image) the file in step 3) putting the check to the item 'Recovery' (so you are sure that TWRP there is ... you never know!);
• Restart and enjoy OREO!

When you get back to TWRP, you can also enable file system writing ...obviously being Oreo with Nougat firmware there will be limitations ...
CAUTION
Remember that to go back you must enter Download Mode and run the RUU corresponding to your firmware that you have in your smartphone: it is the cleanest way to restore it without the need to be S-OFF: this procedure will erase all the data in the internal memory of your phone.
Last thing: do not be scared if you see that it takes time when you restart or turn off your phone ... it's normal ..
Sorry if my English is not perfect ...

At this time the roll out of Android 8.0 was announced for Europe too.....

update to Oreo
Hello,
Please kindly provide whether this method of Oreo installation will also work in case of firmware 1.27.89.10. Bootloader unlocked, S-ON.
Best regards

Take a read and a look at my guides thread. There you'll find out about how to flash a RUU to upgrade your ROM to Oreo. RUUs can be found in my spreadsheet and if the required one isn't yet available you might have to look at some payed service portals like e.g. IR-File or easy-firmware if it is already available over there. As HTC doens't provide RUUs for download free ofcharge outsinde the US, this most of the time is the only solution available.

Hello, thank you for your reply. I've managed to install Oreo (LeeDroid) after bootloader unlocking and TWRP instalation, radio, etc. following instructions from XDA. All seems to work fine but after it doesn't, I've had some problems with applications running. I'm asking my self now why I've done it then, but I've tried to get back to stock ROM by TWRP restore... I exectute backup from SD card and something went wrong and now I have problem... i'm stuck in boot loop. I can run stock recovery but when I'm trying to install stock ROM by update form SD card or ADB sideload I receive: e footer is wrong e:/ signature verification failed installation aborted or unable to open sysfs usb node.. Is there any way to fix it?

Are you sure you're using the correct RUU fpr your model, do CID, and MID macht, did you use the extSD card method describend in my guides thread?
What's the first we need to help? Exactly a fastboot getvar all and a full an precise description of the file you're trying to use (incl. a link where you downloaded it if possible).

Thank you for your reply. I managed to run my HTC in safe mode, (I guess) next I've followed instructions how to returrn to stock ROM wit RUU and finally restore stock ROM. Now all is ok.

Update to Oreo
Hello,
Kindly request, can anyone direct me or write a exactly step by step how can I change Nugat 7.1.1 to Oreo 8.0.0 ?
Carrier: Orange Poland
HTC u 11 details:
bootloader unlocked by htcdev
htc_ocnuhl PVT S-ON
RADIO 8998-001791-1705231845
OpenDSP - UNKNOWN
Firmware: 1.27.89.10
kernel: lk
MID: 2PZC10000
CID: ORANG219
Thank you in advance!

Update to Oreo
Hello,
Can anyone answer please?

I assume the above poster found the info requested, as there are plenty of guides and info to do just that.
Break Break
My question is can you extract the radio image from an older firmware and flash it? i.e., can I install the latest Oreo, or even PIE once it's ready, and if I still have radio issues, just flash the Nougat 7.1.1 radio firmware? I know how to get the firmware, I know how to extract the radio image, I believe I know how to flash it in download mode. Before experimenting, was hoping someone could give me some expertise before trying it.
Thanks!!

Welcome to the Official Motorola Lollipop firmwares thread.
Here you will find the Firmware images of Lollipop for Moto G 1st generation once available.
It will be useful to have all variants of the awaited OTA here, since all devices have some differences in hardware, so here I will be placing all OTAs once they are released.
How to capture an Over The Air update?
If you want to contribute with your specific carrier OTA, once your OTA is available, do this:
Download the OTA but don't install it yet. With a ROOTED DEVICE, use some root explorer and go to /cache folder inside the root folder of the phone and copy the downloaded ZIP file to your emulated SD card, then copy it to your PC, upload it to any server you like and submit the link here to have all firmwares in one site.
The OTA will be named like Blur_Version.173.44.9.falcon_umts.Latam.en.AR (this is an example of an Argentinian retail Moto G 4.4.4 OTA ZIP package).
As I said, you need a ROOTED DEVICE to do this, so, if you want to contribute to this database, do all this procedure and unroot your device, or restore your firmware with this guide to make a clean install of the new firmware.

That's just my opinion but should related to android L threads be created once we at least will know when it comes? Or even better when it will be released?
There is already one thread have been closed http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/general/lollipop-t2929720
I'm just saying that this thread is kinda pointless for now.
Yea I thought placeholder threads weren't allowed on XDA

The thread you mention is useless.. But this will be useful since it will take no more than some weeks to see the update. So this thread can be opened right now, since I give info and instructions to capture an OTA to share with everybody when it is available... And I'll put my OTA for Arg retail Moto G here..

This is not just a placeholder, since I give instructions to capture the OTAs when they come up.. To anyone who wants to help with this database I give that instructions with some time before the OTAs roll out.
There is already a thread for Motorola Firmware Images. Please keep this thread OTA Updates only, and reword the OP to reflect this.
Cool..! This will have good database of Android L OTA's for all variants and easier to grab them once available in a single thread. But please make sure you update the OP as soon as someone shares in posts :good:
I think you can even add Variant names in advance at OP like XT1033 , XT1032 so on.
"Official" ? OP work for Motorola?
If not then its a community effort which is better than Official in my view

Sent from my XT1033 using XDA Free mobile app
Thanks for this, helped me capture my 5.1 OTA update
actually I have found a way to capture the OTA without root,
step 1. download the OTA but dont install it..
step 2. power off the device and boot into bootloader mode
step 3. flash custom recovery like twrp 2.8.6.0 (fastboot flash recovery twrp-recovery.img)
step 4. boot into the custom recovery, go to the file manager and go the /cache/ folder
step 5. copy the update file from the cache folder, and paste into the main sdcard root area
step 6. connect the phone to the computer via usb cable while in recovery mode
step 7. copy the update file to the computer.
now to install the update, just reboot back into bootloader mode, flash the stock recovery back with fastboot (fastboot flash recovery recovery.img)
step 8. enter stock recovery mode (to show options - hold power and volume up for 3 seconds)
step 9. apply update from sdcard (you will see the update file still there - Blur_Version.XX.zip)
This works, I have tried this 3 times before on 5.0.2 firmware.

[Guide] Nougat with DRM fix, root and TWRP* (SGP771)

Do not work with Nougat 7.1.1 / 32.4.A.0.160 (Bootloop)
New TWRP (You dont need otg and mouse anymore!):
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=745425885120733410 (thanks to andralex8!)
GUIDE UPDATED, TESTED AND SIMPLIFIED 15.2.2017 (thanks to munjeni)
Tested with Saudi Arabia, Germany and Nordic (.378) firmwares
I managed to get my Xperia Z4 Tablet (SGP771) LTE model to have root, TWRP-recovery*, munjenis DRM fix and Adaway working with Nougat firmware (Saudi Arabia). I will share steps that I have done with my own tablet. If this guide brick your device or something goes wrong, I am not responsible for loss of your device. Use this guide only with your own RISK!
This tutorial is not for beginners. You need to have working adb installed yout pc, unlocked tablet, sonys special driver for fastboot. and TA backup (example TA-21062016.img). Use only this tutorial with Sony USB-cable.
*To get TWRP working, you need: OTG-cable and a mouse with wire or wireless mouse with a dongle.
0. Download Nougat 32.3.A.0.376 (Saudi Arabia) firmware with Xperiafirm 32.3.A.0376. to your PC
1. Flash Nougat 32.3.A.0.376 (Saudi Arabia) with Flashtool 0.9.23.2.
2. Boot your device and enable Developer settings from setting
3. Enable USB debugging setting from Developer settings
4. Download Supersu and Magisk to your device:
https://s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/supersu/download/zip/SuperSU-v2.79-201612051815.zip
http://tiny.cc/latestmagisk
5. Shutdown your device
6. Download munjenis DRM fix and serajr script package v2 to your pc:
http://munjeni.myiphost.com/ta_poc.rar
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=70959962&postcount=65
7. Decompress files from munjeni and serajir to same folder.
8. Extract kernel.sin from your nougat firmware ftf (You can use 7zip to do this). Copy it to same folder with DRM fix. Rename kernel.sin to kernelX.sin
9. Copy your TA backup to same folder with DRM fix and rename it TA.img
10. Open Cmd with admistrator persimmions and use DOUBLECLICKME_NOUGAT.bat (search cmd rght mouseclick use admistrator).
11. Follow munjenis tool tutorial: You can choose if you want Sony Ric off. I left it on but turned dm verity off.
12. Download TWRP: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B0j3VJ1Xp5N8cnhQamtxRWVtRmc
13. Press vol up and connect your device to pc to use fastboot. Use command: fastboot flash boot new_boot.img
14. After that use command: fastboot flash recovery TWRP-3.0.2-0-20160604.img
15. Disconnect your device and put otg-cable to tablets usb and connect mouse to otg-cable.
16. Press vol down + power to boot to TWRP. Touchscreen is not workin but you can use your mouse to navigate in TWRP!
17. Allow TWRP to make changes to your device and flash Supersu 2.79 and Magisk 11.1.
18 Boot your device and install magisk manager from the play store.
19. Enable from magisk manager settings: busybox, magisk hide and systemless hosts and Install Adaway (Will not work without Magisk, strange).
I have not managed to get my CTS profile approved but that is not major issue if not playing with Pokemon go (You can use magisk to detect this).
Note1 : Change LTE to 1 priority from mobile setting. Default for SA firmware is GSM
Note2: If you have already tried rootkernel to get drm working; do a full wipe and reflash firmware with flashtool. Rootkernel messes something. Tablet do not boot if you have used rootkernel and after that try to use munjenis DRM fix.
Note3: Magisk 11.1 wont work with Xperia Z4 Tablet without Supersu. So flash Supersu first and Magisk 11.1 after that
Note4: You cannot boot to TWRP by using root and reboot to recovery apps. You need to boot to the recovery with keycommand voldown+power
I hope this guide helps some fellow flashers
Special thanks for

Strange, I Did not encourter this problem because I could boot to TWRP and do adb trick there. Do you use orginal Sony usb to flash in fastboot? I had once a problem with Samsung Phone (S7) to flash recovery because the usb was not the one that came with my Phone.
Yeah
Try redownload TWRP image and flash it. If not working do a clean flash and try again or wait for Androplus kernel

Couldnt I just do the root and recovery method you have given on the wifi version as im not too bothered about drm fix for now as it looks abit complicated at the moment for me. It would be much more simple for me to flash recovery then super su. I just wanna know if this is possible?
Thanks
I am not sure. You need atleast a correct TWRP. You can try if You dare with your own RISK
But I doubt that it wont work..

Step 8 says Extract kernel.sin from your nougat firmware copy it to same folder with DRM fix. Rename kernel.sin to kernelX.sin. Do I have to extract that from the ftf or my Nougat firmware im currently using? Also does the ftf have to be that region?

You need to extract it from ftf-image. I used 7zip. My device was Nee with stock. I used DE with Marshmallow and I am currently using Saudi Arabia. So I dont think it will matter, which kernel you use with your device. But I would use same kernel version with rom. So If you are using Saudi Arabia rom use Saudi Arabia kernel. For Russia rom use Russia kernel, and so on
I will add tft-image extract to tutorial!
DRM fix doesn't work. XReality (among other things I assume) are ever disabled.
On Marshmallow DRM fix was working fine (was using XReality engine despite the unlocked bootloader)
For me it is working!

Lineage OS questions

Let me start out by saying I have spent hours searching and reading about this subject, and can't find straight answers to what I'm asking here.
So search wasn't my friend on these questions.
1)I am not clear on whether or not to install su.zip (arm) after unlocking bootloader and installing latest lineage version. In rahulsnair's post, he has a link for su.zip (arm) download, but then he says a few lines down: don't install any superuser packages.
2)I can't find a clear recent link on what package to install to get the stock N image and modem, the only one I found was dated October 2016 by sam sundar (Blur_Version.24.31.64.athene.retail.en.US.zip), is this the right one?
3)Do I even need to install that, or will the phone auto update to Nougat (moto xt1644)?
4) Will I be able to tether with this rom? (I am still on a legacy Verizon unlimited plan) rahulsnair also said in his post "Go to Settings>Developement Settings>Root access and select "Apps Only"", will this allow tether too?
Thanks in advance.

Someone feel free to correct me on any of these
1) Flash SU.zip or SuperSU (or your root manager of choice) if you desire root. The history seems to be that CM14.1/early days of Lineage OS had root built-in (hence the warning towards the end of the post), but sometime in January the official Lineage team removed built in root access and moved it to a flashable separate zip, meaning you have to install it as an addon.
2)Looks like that file was the soak test from October, I wouldn't recommend installing it as although you get Nougat, it's a dead end upgrade path. You've got a couple of options:
a)Flash the fastboot NPJ25.93-14 Nougat stock update (v7.0, Dec 2016 security update) from https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/how-to/moto-g4-plus-xt1640-43-athene-npj25-93-t3549369. This is as far as I can tell a complete ROM that appears to be signed by Motorola.
b)You could look at flashing the TWRP radio and Nougat files from here https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4/development/fxz-athene-twrp-flashable-fastboots-t3562147, seems they work.
3) Depends on how long you're willing to wait for Nougat to arrive in the US, there are a few reports of a soak test in the US occurring! https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/how-to/nougat-update-apparently-rolling-t3566271
4)No idea about tethering, seems from the official thread it worked for XT1642 (EU/UK Plus) but wasn't on XT1644 devices. You could try though with the newest build. Also, check robot_head's thread on suggestions on how to get Wi-Fi tethering working. https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/help/wifi-tether-xt1625-t3543061 I think you have to uninstall SuperSU or other root managers if you wish to use Magisk for this, as Magisk takes over root management (as I recall!).
As always, good luck
I'm assuming bootloader needs to be unlocked to use this method? If so, is there a way to apply the latest xt1644 nougat update before unlocking bootloader? Thanks

Which method were you referring to? If it's the update to Nougat, bootloader status doesn't really matter (OTAs may still install if you have a stock recovery/kernel/system with an unlocked bootloader, and the fastboot method will also install if your bootloader is unlocked). For everything else, yes you will need an unlocked bootloader (and thereby voiding your warranty).
You could either wait until the Nougat update arrives and then update via OTA, then unlock, or flash the fastboot ROM before or after unlocking, honestly up to you. So long as your bootloader is the only thing that's been modified, OTAs should be okay - anything else and a fastboot ROM may be required.
Okay, so I got the bootloader unlocked, and I have got the latest Nougat firmware installed (NPJ25.93-14), flashed through fastboot, and I can't get TWRP to install through fastboot, Ive tried two different downloads, please see screenshot.

You've got the TWRP recovery installed, those errors are normal (I imagine because we don't have the right cryptographic keys). At the end of each command, you'll note [OKAY] is present, so the flash worked, ensure you reboot into recovery after flashing to prevent the stock recovery overwriting. Afterwards, TWRP should persist on your device. You may wish to use the adb command 'adb reboot recovery' to accomplish this or boot into recovery via the bootloader.
Got this ROM running, working great! Thanks for all of the efforts!
One but one but I have is: in Phone-settings-calls, when you select calls (to setup voicemail, etc.,), com.android.phone force closes. My device is the xt1644, rom is the Lineage March 06 build. Latest modem (Dec 2016) and firmware were flashed before flashing Lineage. Verizon is the service provider.
One request I have is the ability to turn off Album art on the lock screen. Had that I my Nexus 6 with the Pure Nexus Substratum Rom by Beanstown and others.

[HELP] TWRP, Root, & Custom ROM

Sorry for the post, my question didn't really get answered on the General Q&A Nood Friendly Thread:

I have Android 9 and August 1, 2020 security patch on it (YouTube was mentioning security patches? dunno why).
I would like TWRP and a future goal of changing to Lineage OS/Tissot.
Which rooting guide can I follow?
( I got confused with the available threads.)

After posting, I tried follow this guide thread
I was able to do step 1 which is to unlock but, I don't know if I should still be flashing a Stock Fastboot ROM?
Also there is no link for TWRP, or which version of TWRP I should get...
The last time I rooted something was a Galaxy Note 2 back in 2012-ish so my relevant knowledge is definitely expired.
Please give me a lead on where to find the correct TWRP file and further instructions.
you want step by step guide to flash custom rom?
- You have unlocked bootloader?
- what OS version you are on at the moment ?
Dont worry i will help you in best of my knowledge i have been through what you are going after some time i learned answer question and we will begin
Yes, my bootloader is already unlocked and fastboot was enabled.
OS is stock Android 9, Aug 2020 security patch:

I was hoping to get instructions or help in English; I've watched his YouTube tutorial in Indian but I was afraid that I'd do something wrong because I didn't understand what he said.
You can follow the instructions provided for LOS:
https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/tissot/install
Simply exchange the LOS installing part with the ROM of your choice.

Thank you, I'm done with the custom rom and root
Sorry for late reply i couldn't login because of xda forum migration process
steps i used:
- install Twrp (download latest version details below)
- download custom rom and gapps (and transfer it into sdcard or internal storage or your phone)
- download Adb/fastboot tool and drivers (download it in windows pc install it details below)
- Install Twrp (download it from https://dl.twrp.me/tissot/) there are 2 files .zip and .img you would need fastboot and adb drivers https://androiddatahost.com/uq6us install adb minimal in location where of your choice copy twrpX.XXXX.img file beside adb/fastboot.exe , from start menu open command prompt right click run as administrator locate to adb/fastboot folder .
Power off your mi a1 when its powerd off hold down volume down and power button until you see fastboot mode on the phone connect it to pc wait for drivers to install let me know if you need in this regard. Inside command prompt run " fastboot devices " if you see device with bunch of numbers below than it means your phone is connected and drivers are working than enter this command " fastboot boot twrpXX.XXXX.img " it will take no more than 5 seconds your phone will turn on into twrp recovery there you can copy twrpxx.xxx.zip file to your internal storage or sd card flash it when its done restart -> Recovery.
Warning: After flashing twrp zip dont restart to system if you do your phone will show you message that phone has been destroyed so dont restart .
- Installing custom roms: download custom rom of your choice transfer it into internal or sd card from twrp install-locate to custom rom .zip file and flash it also keep in mind lots of roms didn't include gapps so you have to download it from opengapps(for android 8-10) and nikgapps(android 11). Flash gapps . Keep in mind after installing custom roms you will lose twrp recovery so if you want twrp at this stage go ahead and install it
- If you want root access download and flash magisk
Its always good practice to keep stock rom and xiaomi flash tool with you just in case if something goes wrong you can reflash stock rom and boot normally.
Let me know if you need help
Cheers

No matter what i do its still giving me error 7 in LEX727

Hello All
Its a never used LEX 727. Decided to flash a custom rom. Installed latest TWRP, but when i go to flash the rom got error 7.
Tried with diffrent roms but still error 7.
Then updated firmware to 30S by @codeworkx from here and again tried different roms but am still getting the error.
Following the suggestions given by various posters, I have tried doing full wipes, rebooting to recovery, using the ALL IN ONE tool but nothing is working.
I've also tried many older versions of TWRP as well as roms but nothing, the error is still there.
Any more suggestions on how to fix this? Thank you.
This is a typical error when TWRP is old or does not fit the model.
First, stay at 20s firmware:

You have to keep an eye on this:
- LEX720 (ZL1_CN)
- LEX722 (ZL0_CN)
- LEX727 (ZL1_NA)
Error 7 says the ROM’s updater script says the phone model of your phone is incompatible. A quick search for LineageOS give me this compatible on:

Make sure you have the latest TWRP installed for the X727:
Download TWRP for zl1
Download TWRP Open Recovery for zl1
eu.dl.twrp.me
Importand: If LineageOS aks to install it's own recovery, don't do it.
Important:
Install recovery, then reboot directly into recovery and install the rom. Original Firmware will revert back to stock recovery while boot! The you have to start over again.
Hello @Neppomuk_
Thanks.
1- I installed the 20S firmware
2- Installed the latest TWRP version 3.6.2_9-0-zl1 , and, rebooted to recovery.
3- Downloaded both the latest official LOS as well as the unofficial one by the poster whose link you have posted above. First tried installing the official rom and it gave error 1. Then tried flashing the unofficial one and same error. i.e.: "E1001: failed to update system image", Error 1.
4- I also tried installing the Mokee rom and it is also giving the same error. I downloaded the rom from their official site here
4- I am attaching screenshots of the errors. The first one is from the lineage "unoffical" after the "offical" had failed to install. The second one is from the failed Mokee rom.

Error 1 is corrupted boot. You have the flash the stock boot.img with bootloader. I own a x720 so I can not provide you my one. It is possible to extract it from stock rom.
Check if you can find one here:
Le Eco Pro 3 X727 Twrp Backup : Clean Full Stock X727 recovery EUI 5.8.21s
Return to Un-modded Stock: Bootloader unlocked and TWRP and Root included The file is 4gb compressed to 2gb. Depending on your connection it will probably take 20 to 45 minutes to download. Be Advised Do your research before flashing...

Actually i have had that error before while experimenting, so i'm afraid there has been no progress.
Are you asking to flash the stock boot image? And then what? Will appreciate if you outline the steps.
@Neppomuk_
1- Extracted stock boot image from the file you provided. Flashed it to boot successfully. Rebooted to recovery.
2- Went through the process of flashing the rom again. Still error 1.
OK, the E1001 from your screenshots is interesting. System image is (marked as) encrypted.
Do Following from twrp, all steps without reboot:
wipe/advanced wipe, tick 'Dalvilk/Art', 'Cache', 'Data' and 'System'
then go wipe/format data, confirm with yes, now the encryptiono (state) should be gone.
Now reboot straight back into recovery and flash the, this was mokee rom?, again.

Did it. Still error 1.
The first picture is LOS. The second one is Mokee.
Let's try following:
In TWRP go to Advanced, select File Manager, select the System folder from the list and the push the checkmark on the bottom right corner. No push the chmod 755 button the give full access to system partition.
Try to install custom rom.
A second try:
Go to wipe / Advanced wipe
select the system partition
now select 'repair or change file system' and then 'repair file system'.
Try to install custom rom.
I had problems with the 2nd try on some devices they do not allow repair of system partition.
Did the 1st option. Still error 1.
Did the 2nd option and the process was aborted or failed with error 4.
Did the 1st option. Still error 1.
Did the 2nd option and the process was aborted or failed with error 4.
Did you had any problem to flash TWRP on the device earlier?
With error 4 we have a second option:
In TWRP go to Wipe / Advance Wipe, select 'System' partition and select 'Repair or Change File System'.
Select 'Change File System', select EXT2 and proceed.
Then do the same to go back to EXT4.
Do the same with the Data partition.
Now, you have to transfer the custom rom to your phone again. But do it in bootloader mode this time.
OK, something special:
The LineageOS ROM has it's own boot.img inside. You can use this one as well, flash it in bootloader.

Not sure how to do this. As far as i know one can only flash images in boot loader mode. How does one flash a zip file in that mode?

Are you asking to flash the lineage boot.img in bootloader mode and then flash the entire rom by TWRP?
Do partial flash in bootloader mode, if not already happen, use Minimal ADB and Fastboot:
[TOOL]Minimal ADB and Fastboot [2-9-18]
Introduction ADB and Fastboot are arguably two of the most indispensable tools used when working with Android devices. If you really want to modify, debug, and tweak along with their countless uses in rooting, and other procedures ADB and...

Command to flash boot image in console:
fastboot flash boot [boot.img]
Then stay in bootloader mode. The mobild should mount a drive to the system. Copy the ROM imge to the internal storage on that drive. You can copy the rom in TWRP mode also. Then install the rom throug TWRP.
I never sideloaded data. I like to check the transfer is successfully finished. I had some faulty sd cards, wich do no give an error while sideloading stuff.
As an alternative you can use an OTG USb Stick and putt the stuff on this one. Would do the same and could be faster.
If you need drivers for Windows:
Get the Google USB Driver | Android Studio | Android Developers
The Google USB Driver is required to perform adb debugging on Windows with Google devices.
developer.android.com
and the device specified one:
LeEco Le Pro3 USB Driver for Windows (Official Mobile Driver)
Download the official USB Driver for Windows Computer.
gsmusbdriver.com
-> I did not verify if this driver downloads are still valid, please check them first.
I do have the latest drivers and ADB installed. Everything i have been telling you has been done via ADB as well as from the internal storage of the phone.
But my question was, when you say :

My question is i can flash the boot.img from TWRP, can't I? Anything wrong with that approach?
I think understand you now. Do a partial flash using boot loader and the do the rest using TWRP.
Thank you for clarifying. One needs confirmation so we do not do anything we aren't supposed to.
Sorry, I mixed up another case where I'm tring to remove forced data encryption.
There are flashable boot.img in zip files wich you can flash from TWRP, but this is not your one.
I still believe, that something is wrong with your boot partition.
The whole procedure:
- Extract boot.img from Lineagos and install it in bootloader mode: fastboot flash boot [boot.img]
- Boot into TWRP while holding Power and volume up.
- If not done, wipe cache and system, format data.
- Copy LineageOS to the drive / internal storage
- Use TWRP to install the rom

Yes, better one question to much than new problems...
Did as suggested. Still error 1.
I have another question while we continue to look at this. If worse comes to worse i've no choice but to use EUI. Is it possible to patch the latest android security patches to it? That is, rom will be EUI , but updated with all security patches?
