Newbie questions to OnePlus... - OnePlus 5 Questions & Answers

Hi, completely new to OnePlus devices, coming from Moto X Pure, just ordered the OnePlus 5 and have the following questions:
1. What would be a quick way to launch the camera? Is it like double-press the power button in Nougat?
2. Is there wave-to-wake?
Thanks!

Double press power button for camera
Double tap to wake
For the wave to wake you have to wait for the custom roms to get out

How do I enable Google Assistant on my Indian retail unit of One Plus 5? It's not pre-installed and I don't know how to enable it. Please help.

Questions from a n00b

Hi!
I just bought a Moto 360 watch, and love it so far. But as a earlier Pebble user, I have some questions I would love to find answers to.
The first question is the ability to map the side button (crown). When I drive my car, I plug my phone into the stereo and uses my smartwatch to swich to the next song. On a Pebble that was quite easy, and I didn't event need to look at the watch, I just press one of the side buttons. On my Moto 360, I'll have to wake the screen, swipe left and hit the next button on the screen (easier said than done). That is potensially dangerous when I drive. Is there any way to map the side button to switch to the next song by double press it (or triple press it) or something? That would be an awsome feature.
Number two; The "tilt to wake" function is terrible. Doesn't work half of the time. Pebble had a very good solution with "shake to wake". Is there any way to turn on a similar feature?

[Q] Powering Off

Hi all, serial lurker here, so this is my first post.
I have 2 questions and both can be general or device specific.
Firstly, I own an LG G Watch R, which I generally only wear when I leave the house. So normally I will turn it on as I leave for work in the morning and then power it off when I return home. I manage to drag a good few days out of one full charge this way.
Do you power off your Android Wear device on a night time?
My second question is regarding the process of turning off the device. Previous to the Wear 5.1.1 update I would simply press and hold the crown button for the settings menu to appear then scroll down to power off. Now since the update and the inclusion of a launcher, the crown button's function has changed.
How do you guys power off, is there a quick way?
A simple wear app could probably make the process much easier. Add the app to the top of the list in your launcher, click app, click shut down? Does such an app exist?
Just press and hold the crown, go to the "Settings" app, scroll all down, and you should see "Power Off" and "Restart" above "Informations"
Hit thanks if it helped!

Proximaty Problems

Hey,
I am currently on my 4th Galaxy Note 4 as the previous 3 have all had the same problem regarding the proximaty sensor, basically when I want to finish a phone call the display doesnt light up so I cannot access the onscreen button to end the call.
I have to press the power button for a few seconds in order for the display to come to life before pressing the hone button and phone button in order to hand up.
Its really a real paid and is clearly an issue with the device / rom .
My Note 4 is the UK snapdragon version 910F running the latest version of lollipop on an O2 specific rom.
Anyone have the same problems along with a vital solution?
Many Thanks
Scott

Tap to sleep / lock?

My first phone was OnePlus One, second phone was LG G4, and LG V10 was my 3rd phone.
What do these phones have in common? They all have double tap to wake / sleep!
I can't believe this feature is not present in Nexus 6P and it is unbelievable how useful this feature is. For the first few days that I'm using Nexus 6P, my method of putting the phone to sleep is... WAITING FOR THE SCREEN TIMEOUT TO KICK IN. Can you believe that? I got so used to double tap that it never crossed my mind that you can wake or sleep the phone with the power button!
Anyway, enough of rant and I am actually here looking for assistance. I did some research and it seems like Nexus 6P has the tap to wake feature but it is disabled by default. If you root the phone you can enable this feature. However, I am not overly concerned with tap to wake since I use Nexus Imprint anyway. My main focus is the ability to sleep / lock without pressing the physical power button. Is the disabled feature tap to wake only or can it also do tap to sleep / lock?
Also, are there any methods of putting Nexus 6P to sleep / lock without using the physical power button? I tried couple apps but they seem to not work properly with Nexus Imprint (meaning that I have to enter PIN or password to unlock after waking up the phone with fingerprint).
If you want to double tap to lock you can set it up with gestures using Nova launcher. Believe you need prime version.

You could also download a custom ROM like Chroma or Pure Nexus. They are pretty close to stock but with other goodies like double tap to sleep. They also get updated very frequently and get great support from their developers.
I am looking for the same, prefer to keep stock ROM and just do a build.prop edit or flashable .Zip

Pretty sure there's a thread detailing how to enable this on the stock ROM in our apps/themes section.
GMD GestureControl (play store) works fine (root)

Nova with root and voilĂ ! It's under the "gestures" section. Select "double tap" and tell it what to do. It is double tap on the home screen only though, fyi.

Double tap power for flashlight.

I switched to custom rom and I know longer have a double tap power for flashlight while the phone is off. I miss it. Does anyone have a solution for this, all apps I tried don't work with the screen off.
Thanks
Same here, best feature of miui is double press power to turn on flash at any time. How to get it back on resurrection remix custom ROM?
Yes, found, it, there's an app called TapTap on GitHub that brings this feature back via double tapping the back cover of the phone to turn on the flash on my redmi Note 8, running resurrection remix is custom.
