Idea to help ROM developers financially

Hi All,
I was surfing net and found lots of legit sites providing pay per download's.
What came to my mind is that we ask ROM developers to upload on these sites.
we normal users anyways download from where ever they upload.
in this process there is no change however we will be contributing to some extend to them.
specailly usefull for those of us who don't have the luxury to donate through paypal.
Need your opinion.
Mod : please delete thread if it voilates any forum rule. (Please infrom me the same in case its not a burden to you.)
Thats a really cool idea .
I mean I'm sure most of the people taking time out of their own lives to develope these roms (not for profit but because its a hobby they enjoy doing) could also help out many aspects of other peoples lives who may have never even owned a mobile phone (ie, donate the money to a charity of their choosing).
I'm sure that with the amount of dl's a single rom gets could really benefit people.

So you are telling that Developers are uploading their ROM to a website that wants a CORRECT survey before you can download the file? That really sucks, you'll get into trouble with some of those surveys. Also, why make money with file upload websites if you can donate to a developer.
I say no.
what a lame idea the reason why Xda is better because its devs don't push people to download something for money! if the user likes the devs work they donate to the dev infact these sites have waiting time and lame ads all around the page which may change the mind of someone who wants to donate.
Mediafire is always the best file hosting site!
I understand the point you all are trying to make.
however my point was simply in the event many people don't have the liberty or capacity to donate.
neither can they contribute with much to the community.
so just thought to take opinion of the community....
Looks like i might have hurt some of the basic fundamental values of XDA... in that case i am sorry.....
and Note: this is in no way a instruction, its just some thoughts of my own.
The rules of XDA state
11. Don’t post with the intention of selling something.
Don’t use XDA to advertise your product or service. Proprietors of for-pay products or services, may use XDA to get feedback, provide beta access, or a free version of their product for XDA users and offer support, but not to post with the intention of selling. This includes promoting sites similar/substantially similar to XDA-Developers.com.
Do not post press releases, announcements, links to trial software, or commercial services. unless you’re posting an exclusive release for XDA-Developers.com.
Encouraging members to participate in forum activities on other phone related sites is prohibited.
Off-site downloads are permitted if the site is non-commercial and does not require registration.
Off-site downloads from sites requiring registration are NOT encouraged but may be permitted if the following conditions are met:
A) the site belongs to a member of XDA-Developers with at least 1500 posts and 2 years membership who actively maintains XDA-Developers' support thread(s) / posts, related to the download,
B) the site is a relatively small personal website without commercial advertising/links (i.e. not a competitor forum-based site with purposes and aims similar to those of XDA-Developers.com.)
so i dont think survey taking would be allowed
Thanks for the clarification please delete the thread or atleast lock it as i suppose it will be a clear voilation of XDA policies.

Official Samsung NOTE SALES/TRADE/Request Thread.

I thought of creating this thread for the convenience of our Members to sell or trade their GNote.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Please state the exact condition of your Note and from where you are selling and also to which countries you are willing to send. E.g EU/USA/Wordwide etc.
If you are requesting for a Note please specify your location(Country) and the amount you are willing to pay for the GNote.
ATTENTION: Only "valid" members with a considerable amount of posts. We will check your post's to see if a member is reliable.
Happy selling/trading.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
P.S: Also I'm looking for a GNote preferably from Germany. New or used. I'm willing to pay 507euros for it including shipping which is around 10-15euros to my country.
Note that according to XDA rules, selling or trading is only permitted in the Marketplace forum.
I know it does happen for an individual item from time to time, but I'd imagine a thread like this would get mod attention.
Regards,
Dave

Apps/Customise/Addons etc

Hello,
Is there a way to get free apps yet and addons like we can with Cydia/Installious for iPhone?
If so, please could someone point me in the correct location, it would be much appreciated.
Yes, go on play store and look through all the free apps.
As for what you are actually asking. We do not allow discussion of such things as this is classed as warez or warez discussion which if you had read the forum rules would be obvious to you.
XDA is a developer forum so ripping off developers by allowing warez is not and never will be allowed.

Sprint's Framily with corporate discount

Admins - i have looked at the forum rules and didnt see a clear indication that social networking is prohibited (since i am not technically advertising or selling anything). Please let me know if i am violating the rules and i will gladly delete the thread. Just trying to get folks together for mutual benefit.
Folks,
If anyone is planning on witching or have recently switched to Sprint (in the last 14 days), feel free to join my Framily. I have corporate discount on the account that will be applied to all data charges for all lines. Helping each other out is what community is all about!
Framily ID: K01909701nu
Thanks
Move to OffTopic please
Moderator - Sorry, just noticed that i posted on the wrong thread (was reading it)... Could you please move this to the Off Topic forum?

It is usually best to hit the report button, we will find it faster. I also have some bad news. Framily referrals are not allowed on xda. One of the points of Framily is for you to use social networking to advertise for Sprint and that would be against the rules. The only referrals that are allowed are for cloud based storage and those have to go into the specific thread for them in OT.
Sorry!

have the friends and family coupon

Do you think the camera is worth it. I'm not interested in buying another essential phone even though it will be 299.99.

The thread got closed due to breaches of the forum rules. As already mentioned here and here, you can use this thread if you want to share codes. As first mentioned here (and additionally in all other linked posts), selling them is not allowed on xda.
