My headset stopped working; when I answer/make a call, I cannot hear a thing. Any suggestions as to how this can be fixed?
Microphone not working during calls but i can record my voice perfectly fine and if i switch to speaker mode during calls then too it works fine.
I did drop my phone but then again if the microphone was physically damaged then it shouldn't be working entirely and it was working fine right after i dropped it so thats also confusing.
anyone know any fixes
its working now, i opened up the phone and cleaned the microphone.

Samsung have returned my phone twice saying no fault found, but every time I make or receive a call there is no sound on the other end. The mic works for google search, video recording, voice recorder app etc, but as soon as I make a call no one can hear me at all. Any ideas welcome please before I end up selling it as faulty. Gutted and tearing my hair out!

I have a similar issue with my S7. Microphone does not work only during the calls. Turning on speakerphone does not help (as it should when you have a broken bottom microphone) and also if I connect headset then the microphone from the headset works. In all other aps both (botom, top) microphones work (I do have stereo in video recording etc.). Did it happen to you after system update or when?

I have found that the issue is even more silly for me.
So I make a call and the person to whom I am calling cannot hear me. Then I connect a headphones, but ones without a microphone. And suddenly the microphone in the phone starts working. But the moment I disconnect them it stops.
Can you confirm this happening for you?
its old, but i have same problem. Now, I am trying to flash stock rom and see if it will work. After restart, I microphone works only once in call app, that it dont work. But i can record audio with it and in any other app it works. Idk what is the problem, but i want to find out
I'm using call recorder to record call but the problem is that during call my voice is very loud while reception voice is clear. I have tried multiple call recorder but all having the same issue. If I put mobile away from my mouth than it is a bit better.
I tried built in sound recorder and it worked fine no issue.
Only during call I have this problem.
I'm rooted and I'm on 4.4.2

No matter which ROM I would try, no one can hear me, until I turn on loudspeaker mode in calls. Recording audio with 3rd party apps works flawlessly, this problem only occurs in calls. I'm on cm 14 now.
