That "feature" (fp enable wakeup keeps resetting back to 0) was in all 8.1 release. Either flash 8.0 or bump to 8.2/8.5.

It does work but you have to setup the fingerprint first and it would only last till you reboot. The system restores it back to 0 on reboot.

Feel free to discuss about the X-NOTE S5 Ported ROM, BUT Please Don't Spam in this thread.

FAQ'S
Q.Can I use this rom on tmo/Canadian variants?
A.This rom is made for the N9005, @fahadali2315 doesn't support other variants, He ONLY supports the N9005. However a user made a fix to get the things that work by default to work on tmo/Canadian variants. Read the "How to get N9005 roms to work on N900T(Tmo) & N900W8(Canadian) Variants" guide for step by step instructions BUT use the fix that i am linking below.

Q.Why does the installation fail when I try flashing this rom?
A2.Use latest philz recovery (recommended at ROM thread OP), other recoveries might not be able to flash this rom.
A2. v2.5 comes with Aroma Installer, I personally choose Chenglu CWM as it will handle Aroma better.
Q.Why is deep sleep not working?
A1. Deep sleep only works with the 2 NE6 kernels, 1 that comes with the rom and other that @fahadali2315 posted.
A2. Latest updated / tested : Aurora kernel is a good match to this X-Note S5 Ported ROM. Thanks @MojoManagement for the good kernel
Q.Can I use s5 kernels?
A.You can but they break the camera. So better to use n9005/n900t kernels instead.
Q.Why is sview not working?
A1.

A2. Sview is working on v2.5. If you use custom DPI, you will need to set the DPI for sviewcover to 480 with Xposed app setting module, save, and reboot your device.
Q.Why do I get "file not found" when I click on live wallpapers?
A.Live wallpapers are not included.
Q.My wifi is not working?
A1.Wait about a minute or so on setupwixard and it will turn on.
A2.Flash a different kernel.
A3. On v.2.3 & up, WiFi is working perfectly
Q.My mobile data doesnt work?
A1.Set APN from your provider manually.
A2. If A1 can't fix your device, try to go the APN, change the bearer to LTE, and then Save. Your mobile data should be working.
A3. If A1 & A2 still can't fix your device mobile data, your last resort is to flash FIX for National Roaming. Thanks to @Mroczny3 for the fix.
Q.I can't seem to enable recent apps?
A.Use gravitybox xposed/ Navigations Keys Actions set anyone u like to show Recent apps. (Task Switcher)
Q.I modified dpi and now my sview is messed up, what should I do?
A.Use app settings xposed module and set sview dpi to 480.
Q.I have HealthService Error popup?
A.Update Shealth to latest version from Samsung apps.
Q.XTransformer doesn't reboot in this port?
A.Just Set your dpi, and click on reboot button wait until it shows reboot in the TOAST. Then Reboot your phone from PowerMenu manually.
Q.Xnote App doesnt auto Reboot?
A.Some technical glitches ... do what you want to do like changing keyboard and then reboot manually from the PowerMenu.
Q.I cannot find my clock?
A.You have to set the color to white of the clock from XNOTE APP.
Q.Which Kernel is good for port ?
A1.It comes with Stock. But i personally use Wootever.
A2. Now our N9005 has a good kernel AURORA. I personally use this one, and is really good in deep sleep.
Q.I dont have all the toggles in my quicksettings like xnote and shootit?
A.Go to xnote app, Extras , Additional Script and run Enable All Toggles Script . Reboot Manually.
Q. I have 2 clocks in status bar, one in center and one on right side???
A. Disable one from gravitybox or xnote
Q. Why is my home button is not waking up my phone ?
A. Go to X-Note App/Extras/X-Note Custom Mods and Check/Uncheck Home Button wake and restart SystemUI.
Q. Why is my restart menu is not showing up ?
A. Go to X-Note App/Extras/X-Note Custom Mods and Check/Uncheck Restart Options Elements.

A. Go to X-Note App/Extras/X-Note Custom Mods and Show/Hide CPU Widget in Other StatusBar Elements and restart SystemUI.
Q.How to use stock battery?
A.Not been tested myself but try.
Delete X-battery.apk and use xblast/wanam to put on the original battery. Should work on older versions
Not sure about v14.
Q. Having some weird reflection/shadow under the date/time? SOLUTION ?
A. This is the Network Speed indicator and the problem occurs if you are using any xposed modules (Wanam) . So either switch off the indicator by going to Xnote control app >> Extras >> StatusBar Mods or disabling the xposed module.
Q. Logs in phone doesn't fully show up ( top part is missing)
A. gravity box, search for the option to hide the menu overflow it happens with navbar enabled.
Q. How to change StatusBar transparency ?
A. Goto Xnote ControlApp>>Extras>> Color StatusBar Mods ,Check the Content

Enable on-screen NavBar on Stock ROOTed Nougat? A2017U

But had no luck after reboot either way.
Any way to enable them?
It didn't work in MM because ZTE took the on screen buttons out of the framework, rather than just from the build.prop line.
I'm guessing they did the same thing in N.
needs more than just build.prop to enable on-screen key......i'll be releasing Dmix7_N (Stock Base) but on-screen keys will be disabled by default via build.prop and re-enable via build.prop
That's odd cause when I went from lineage back to stock the nav bar followed. Full wipe, full stock zip.
I have on screen working but capacitive buttons still work as well. Does anyone know of a way to turn capacitive buttons completely off and only use on screen?

My stock Rooted B15 Nougat version just has an option to activate on-screen Navbar...
Setings->Features->Navigation Keys.
Is that what you meant?

That's really weird, mine didn't have that? Only thing I had under "Navigation Keys" was the ability to swap them but not display them on screen?
I did, however, flash the vR26 Permissive kernel, and that automatically enabled the onscreen buttons......It also made Nougat much smoother
I'm running the B15 from DrakenFX.
Here's a screenshot from that setting.

Been meaning to reply to this with a screenshot from "stock rooted".. There is no option to "Always show navigation bar" in stock. Not sure if DrakenFX added that, or what?
I do know the Beast Mode Permissive kernel will enable them, and I used it for a couple weeks, but while that kernel is really smooth and I had my on-screen navbar.... My battery took a fairly huge hit, and my stock camera didn't work. So I reverted back to pure, rooted, stock.
Bumping. I want to go back to the latest stock but I won't do it without onscreen nav buttons.

Fairly easy.
When rooted open build.prop (system/)
Change ro.config.navkeys=1 to 0 (ZTE kept it by default to 1 so you don't see the setting)
Leave qemu.hw.mainkeys=0 like it is
Save, restart and you'll have your enabled nav bar on stock devices.
Btw, you can disable it through settings so you can, if you want, swype down to not see it anymore.

First do check in settings/features/navigation keys/check always ON wether it works (you can disable it afterwards by putting it on "OFF" and have the possibility to swype up or down afterwards)
Second, try swype upwards from the bottom to see the navbar.
Check also if qemu.hw.mainkeys=0 is still 0.
It should work because these are simple build.prop scripts, so test out :good:

I have a U version but I'm actually using your [ROM][AROMA][A2017G][B08 7.1.1.][stock] SL!M³ DF!NR. I'm tempting to checkout ur [ROM][AROMA][A2017][V2.0.0B13 M!Favor 5.0 / 7.1.1.][stock] SL!M DF!NR to see if it makes any difference.

I'll give a look at your build.prop later on.
But do try the Mifavor 5.0. As I'm not mistaken, the option is built in too. So nothing to change there. And this rom is quite smooth, fast and without force closes. Perhaps try it and let me know.
Tomorrow I'll take a look at your file.

Looked into your build.prop and all should be ok. And since you installed the SLIM³ all files such as framework-res.apk and systemui.apk are overwritten in case the U models files could have been different. But as said, with all these files and your build.prop the nav bar should show up....
So for the moment i do not see an immediate solution for that matter.
As said and afaik , the Mifavor 5.0 from my rom has this nav bar build in

Enabling The Double Tap To Wake Up in Lineage OS and Resurrection Remix

Hi guys;
I found a way to enable the double tap to wake up in LineageOS and RR for the mi mix.
Here it comes:
1: Donwload the Root Explorer and the QuickEdit;
2: With Root Explorer, go to sys/bus/i2c/12-0038/wakeup-mode;
3: Open that with Quick Edit and change the value "0" to "1";
4: Save it;
5: Have fun.
This is my first post here, take easy guys. I searched here for a solution for this problem, but didn't find anything about this two roms.
Thanks if it works!
PS: The only problem is that when you reboot the system, the system automatically returns to "0", so you will have to do the whole process again every time you restart the device. Does anyone know the solution to leave this fixed by default?
I'll add that to init process in ramdisk and enable it in source again. In build 0412 it is disabled, but it seems to work anyway Thx for finding it out.

Will work. Just change the value to 1, save and exit. But, every time that you reboot the device, u will need make the process again.
I understand that. My question was if i save the file as read only wouldn't that "deny" the system from changing the value even after rebooting?

NO, as /sys is just a mountpoint for a virtual Filesystem (type sysfs)
So basically, everything under /sys/ is virtual, so no real Files, so no persistance after a reboot. At least not by interacting with sysfs.
This is the Linux way of making runtime live adaptations of certain hardware or software features.
Let me give you an example.
On a regular Dektop-Linux, if you do:
>> echo "1" > /sys/block/sda/device/delete
on the command line, you tell the kernel to flush the caches of the sda disk and spin it down. (so you could safely hotswap)
and if you do not replace your disk, but now want to get that disk spinning again, you put:
>> echo "0 0 0" > /sys/bus/scsi/devices/host1/scsi_host/host1/scan
into console.
So some of the Files there are read only (in like nothing happens when you change the content) , and others can be tampered with, but every change is gone after reboot.
except when you can manage to let some startup-skript make those changes, or you can edit the kernel-source default initialisation variables.

Yeah that makes sense. I tried it and realized that it was set back to zero every time i restarted so i figured it would be something like that. Luckily DT2W works now in the build so we don't have to do that anymore.
Thanks for the explanation though. Really appreciated.
Hey there
i followed your steps but i cant seem to find the 12-0038 folder after i2c. Any thoughts?
If you're using Lineage just install the DragonXiaKernel. Double Tap To Wake is working fine.

To have this switch visible you need a valid path to bootSound.ogg
I know two possibilities, but with balong error the cust may not work.
1. Under the system => /system/media/audio/animationsounds/bootSound.ogg
2.Under the Cust (for EU location) => /cust/hw/eu/media/audio/animationsounds/bootSound.ogg
This work together with a valid bootanimation.

One more site to have bootSound.ogg => /system/etc/media/audio/animationsounds/bootSound.ogg
Maybe in your case some settings are hidden and do not show the switch. In my case if I broken the path or remove the bootsound file the switch desapear.
Can you do some tests?

Help with what? You have been given the answer.
If you don't want that option appears you have to do a factory reset and never activate it I guess.

Yeah but what I understand is that he doesnt want to see never more that option.
If you are rooted:
1. use a file manager like Mixplorer
2. go to /data/system/users/0/
3. open settings_global.xml file in a text editor
4. search for "development_settings_enabled", it will find a line with value=1 (if you did enable dev options, obviously)
5. change the value to 0
6. reboot
Remember that before you change the line, you have to set all the settings you want, don't disable Dev Options, then follow the steps I said. Reboot and the settings you enabled before will keep, but Developers Options will hide.
If your device isn't rooted, unfortunately I can't help you.
I confirm it's working since I disabled animations and they kept disabled after reboot.
