Honor Note 8 - Update or not? Disadvantage of this update? - Huawei Honor Note 8 Questions & Answers

Hello!
I tried to get an answer on a generalist thread but in vain.
My Honor Note 8 is under B029.
I read many pages here before ordering it, and I seem to have read that the B332 was not great, buggy, worse battery life, notifications problem etc. But I do not find this thread.
Is this B332 better than the B029 or is it better to keep the B029?
On the other hand, concerning the B350, should it be proposed to me right away if I had to, or on the contrary I can not have this update without going through the B332?
As for root, I prefer, for the first time, not to do it. I feel that because of its very low level of sales, it has not benefited from the same care as many other smartphones.
Thank you for your help!

No one for helping me please?

Yuki Back to the future ROM - In praise of...

I know not strictly in the right place but because of my post count I'm not allowed to put it where it should go...
Just wanted to say thanks to all involved in the above mention ROM, have just completed the install and I have to say what an amazing piece of work! The visual enhancements alone are superb. I'm keeping fingers crossed battery life is enough for my needs and eagerly awaiting the rumoured updates. I would say to anyone pondering this ROM, try it!
Also a small mention to the community on this site, all questions are usually answered somewhere. Had a few 'head scratching' moments at first but a bit of judicial searching revealed all the answers.
I bought my HD2 second had with the express intention of 'having a play' to see what could be achieved and with you guys help I now have what I consider to be the best handset I have used (and there have been a few, including the one that shouldn't be mentioned here!).
A huge thanks to all, keep up the good work...

Personal reflexions about Samsung and this forum

Hi!
I came first at imate jam times (mean HTC Magician). Have enjoy here a lot and, figuratively, this XDA world has been my second home for more than six year.
Before, I have been at doom's 9 (a DVD decryption and edition forum). And even before in Peque's Worlds (a Spanish Secam and Nagra decryption forum).
I use to write Access VBA for my own since more than 20 years and remember the times when I connect to a BBS with a 28 kbs modem. So, nearly sure, I’m older than most of the people here.
In real life I'm lawyer and use my smartphone for work everyday.
My last device (HTC HD2 running WinMo) pass away last summer (to be franc it is at the 'doctor' to get a new screen) and when I ordered my SIII, I was really afraid of so many changes coming.
Finally, English is not my mother language. I have, mostly, learned to read and write it here.
All that introduction is my small presentation in this SIII forum (not my first post). A way to justify why I dare to open a new thread and, finally, a pray for a little condescendence with my personal and not natively writed opinion.
After three months here, going to the subject, I'm slowly learning to use this new toy. Still far from providing something evaluable, but beginning to understand this new ecosystem with the help of a handful of masters that are teaching here for nothing.
I’m grateful to all of them and to XDA forums in general, but on the other side I’m also feeling that particularly this SIII area is a little missed, being feed by Samsung without order nor proposal and a little clutered by no sense.
Do we really need so many leaks and roms for our devices? Do we really need to lose time asking each other if UK leak should be first or not? Or, as an advanced user’s community, shouldn't we better be asking Samsung firmly to solve all the problems we find and to push fixes to our devices without waiting new local otas or leaks.
In general we have a very good device. Hardware is incredible. Android is a wonderful open source project. And Touchwiz a very nice interface made by Samsung for us.
But touchwiz is also the reason why many people bought a Samsung phone and mandatory interface for a lot of functions, and definitively it has some glitches very difficult to understand.
Should we really be changing manually firmwares to get a colour to our likes?
Don’t we deserve a proper skining system, to decide the colour of our notification bar or to change the switches we has in it, with just a menu option?
Do we deserve a final fix for lags, the battery gripes lot of people has suffer without an explanation or the poor dialer we get?
Shouldn’t Samsung forget that way of feeding us and begin to work to solve immediately the problems we find and to send us and maintain daily updated a software that at least do right the few things it should do out of the box.
Come on Sammy, you have make wonderful things for this device (prediction in Keyboard is incredible, battery life is most of the time incredible, interactivity in touchwiz is very well constructed...) but you are also kidding us and being dumb to the voice of the people that at the end could tell you what the user need...
Don’t know if it will be for god or not, but for me threads asking for solutions, like the one claiming Exynos sources, are the ones who should be pinned and treads like “Increase your battery life up to 500% (All android phones)” or the one discussing which should be the leaks order, must be immediately closed and forget. Personally I feel that only this way XDA’s SIII forum will has the chance to do the things forums has made for advance and knowledge I other areas.
To conclude and focusing, shouldn’t we refuse to act like a laboratory mouse and drive to more constructive ways, with clear petitions to Sammy internal developers?
Thats all.
Please, forgive me if this sound a little stupid ....or should go to and specific threat

[Q] OK... 'untouched' Note 3, want a Note 5 ROM... Now what?

There's so many different ROM's and Kernels and whatnot I'm lost.
I have an untouched 4.4.2 SM-N9005 and I want to get a Note 5 ROM or something new and flashy.
I want to keep the stylus functionality and a new camera would be neat too.
Could someone give me a quick rundown of what I need to do? (Root method? Bootloaders? Kernels? Which ROM? Patches? Xposed?)
Sorry, I'm so lost.
PS. I don't care about knox.
Would be better if you ask, if somebody can come to your place and flash your phone for you.
What you're asking for, is really the minimum basic knowledge you should have to flash your device.
And if you didn't get it from the numerous explanations and tutorials on the Web, will you get it now ?
I'm sure, someone will spoon feed you with the information, but will you then manage not to brick your device ?
You have some serious reading to do to catch up.
Good luck.
Actually as you can see I've been a member here for many many years and have rooted many phones and mod all kinds of electronics as well as many many other things.
It's not a matter of not knowing or bothering to do the research it's simply a matter of not having time at the moment. I have so many other things taking up my time I just thought someone could save me and anyone else who has been waiting for a good rom some time with a brief rundown on what they've found is best.
I'd love to try out all the different recoveries, roms, kernels et all but like I said, no time.
Android Development Darklord port .
Sorry no time for further .
Thank you that's the one I'd been watching but it's been on 2.1 for a fair while, perhaps with camera issues (op says so but people in the 1000+ page thread seem to say it's fixed? ) and every second post seems to mention some new fix or kernel required. Also I noticed there are some other note 5 ports now.

MHA-AL00C00B203 (EMUI 5.1 Early Beta) Findings and Discussion

It's now possible to install MHA-AL00C00B203, an EMUI 5.1 early beta. For more information, see here:
Mod edit: links removed
I would like to have this thread for people who have installed it to discuss new findings in EMUI 5.1
For me so far, I've found that the battery seems to drain less, but that might be subjective.
I've noticed a definite improvement in touch response time, and time to open/switch between apps.
I haven't noticed any new features, otherwise, but they might be there somewhere.
The installation requires a lot of work which can be quite a pain, but it does seem to be stable, as I haven't had any crashing or anything so far.
Anyway, if you're running it, what do you think? How's performance for you? How's battery life? Did you find any new features? Let us know.
you there man are good in helping this community, but u use other ppls work (twrp n superuser zips )without give credit to them by upload to your own server or another cloud.well at least paid some respect for those who work on the zips.i know your service r the only way for m9 to get revive Thier device (besides c636 n al00) but at least respect other ppl works.no offence i am not saying u r service is not good its still the only way for those who doesnt wanna rebrand their phone to other region nor root their device to recover their phone from semi brick/brick.
sorry for derailing from topic.
Peace Out!!
I paid 30.77 USD to by 5 credits and have just update my mate 9 to B173 and now been downloading B203.
