MHA-AL00C00B203 (EMUI 5.1 Early Beta) Findings and Discussion - Huawei Mate 9 Guides, News, & Discussion

It's now possible to install MHA-AL00C00B203, an EMUI 5.1 early beta. For more information, see here:
Mod edit: links removed
I would like to have this thread for people who have installed it to discuss new findings in EMUI 5.1
For me so far, I've found that the battery seems to drain less, but that might be subjective.
I've noticed a definite improvement in touch response time, and time to open/switch between apps.
I haven't noticed any new features, otherwise, but they might be there somewhere.
The installation requires a lot of work which can be quite a pain, but it does seem to be stable, as I haven't had any crashing or anything so far.
Anyway, if you're running it, what do you think? How's performance for you? How's battery life? Did you find any new features? Let us know.

you there man are good in helping this community, but u use other ppls work (twrp n superuser zips )without give credit to them by upload to your own server or another cloud.well at least paid some respect for those who work on the zips.i know your service r the only way for m9 to get revive Thier device (besides c636 n al00) but at least respect other ppl works.no offence i am not saying u r service is not good its still the only way for those who doesnt wanna rebrand their phone to other region nor root their device to recover their phone from semi brick/brick.
sorry for derailing from topic.
Peace Out!!

I paid 30.77 USD to by 5 credits and have just update my mate 9 to B173 and now been downloading B203.

Paid for services are not allowed on XDA!

Download link is not working , please fix so we can try your new room.
I already said we have conference and ROM is not ready yet, it's not relased, only thread is complete for waiting for ROM .
can this rom play Rage of 3 Kingdoms?
Hopefully Gaming 2 will handle that, don't know if X/10 too, cause it's not for games, but you will test it on your own when it hit XDA .
Camera? Video Camera?
Does Camera and video camera work fully? May be a silly ques, its been a while since i've been around so not updated
Thanks for amazing roms dude
yes the will have the camera and video cam working and u must
say thanks dudes
Camera is working without any problems. Still trying to make something about Camcorder but as you know, in JB ROMs is a pain in the a*s so I don't think we make it fully working. At least for now .
Buda1996, who just said about working cam?
well i knew it sorry
Version??
What android version is it?. 4.2.2??
I hear there are lot of wlod and scroll freezing issues in the newest version.
Also, would you please integrate the optional addons into aroma installer?. It would be really great. Cant wait to try your rom. Good work.

Good news for future X/10 project Users! -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2322005&page=2
Can someone tell me if with this Rom the device battery goes to 40 °C after ten minutes running games,wi-fi or mobile data? With other ICS and JB roms that I tried, after 38°C the device reboots :crying: and I can't use it without waiting 7-10 minutes because if I insert the pin the device reboots again
I just tried with CPU Master Pro, and unfortunately, my temperature was 39°C but I'm using my device few days, so it;s not so bad I think (384-1190 smartassv2). Still, sometimes it can make me WLOD, but not as much as on some GB Kernels, it's just my device, it can't handle amounts higher than 1152 in stable way all the time. I hope your problems will be gone if you use DXX10 soon .
Check dev thread for news today .
Can someone link me DX Engine Kernel? Becouse I can't find it..
Did you read my messeage on dev thread or looked at videopresentation? DXEngine is not ready yet .

Why? It's in dev thread of DX X/10 .
Short review of final release
Hi all,
As a tester I recieved the final version and i'd like to give you a short review after a day of usage.
I'm using the ROM on Fera's JB kernel (v4) with 384/1190/Smartassv2/cfq & AnimationScale: 1x (all three)
I did a clean ROM install and installed some add-ons (each one a separate install).
The ROM is smooth! The test version was smooth already and also kept it's smoothness during a week of testing.
Wifi is fixed, GPS is accurate. Fix isn't instant but it's there at a normal speed.
Screen responsivness is perfect! Also it has become better than in the test version (please read installation instructions to achieve that!).
I'm not a gamer (well, i am playing chess )
While using google navigate (maps) or social life I haven't faced any reboots (test version could reboot with such RAM eating apps).
Multitasking isn't as fast as gingerbread, but it also ain't slow. It's just working in a decent way without lag.
Mail can be added, but be aware that exchange isn't included in the package (search xda for it).
So i'm very pleased and I'm using it as my daily.
IMHO: The ROM is very good.
Thanks to DikeJ.

Issues on the Moto G (2014) XDA section

I'm a senior member of this forum. I'm 51 years old. I always used this forum for the several devices I own(ed) with great pleasure ever since I joined XDA.
This is the first time I start a thread because I need to say this!
My latest phone: the Moto G (2014), XT1068, is a great phone.
Unfortunately I can't say so about the XDA section here!
First of all there's very littlte development here. Understandable, because it's a relatively new device.
But now to my point: people here are starting threads for the most silly reasons and this morning I read a thread that almost made me leave this section and triggered me to make this thread.
I don't know what kind of people buy this device and then sign up for XDA, but I see a lot of 'unprofessional' posting. A lot of new people who obviously don't have any experience in flashing roms, kernels, recoveries, etc. Nor do they have much experience on this forum! A lot of people seem to have only signed up to know when a Lollipop update wil be there and how to get it! I'm afraid many people are just teenagers here...
I miss the threads with Orginal Developed roms, with questions and logcats to improve a rom. I miss Cyanogenmod, and all the other general roms...
Furthermore, I don't have anything against people of India. On the contrary, one of the best roms here is from an Indian: Pyr0_Bl4de with his Andro-X! But you Indians dominate the threads, not only here on XDA, but also on the Motorola Owners Forum with just asking for ETA's of Lollipop. Many people (and not only Indians) don't read and search first. They just post a question that has already been answered before.
I'm always willing to help, if I can. But somehow my patience has come to an end.
Possibly this thread wil be closed soon too. It doesn't directly contribute to the development here. But I wanted to have it said anyway.
Sorry in advance if I offended people!

"Praise Jah" YOU people..
I couldn't agree more and am probably going to sell my phone for these very reasons. Thank you for saying it out loud.
Agreed, had many phones in the past, never seen such a boring section as this, multiple threads closed down because of stupid lollipop questions, imagine how motorola must feel with the amount of owners asking about LP all the time, I want the update like most of us, but come on people, get some sleep, go out and enjoy the fresh air doing walking, sports or family things and get on with your lives.
In the process of waiting for a new phone to arrive, as much as I like the dual sim on this phone, redraws, memory problems, screen touch problems are starting to get too annoying and I think it's nearing the time to say goodbye to the moto g 2014, sadly., but I will not be loosing any sleep over it.

To be honest, I did report several posts and threads. Most of them where closed after me complaining... But I'm always reluctant to say I reported, because I don't want to be flamed for it....
I'm not a senior member and I get a lot out of this section for our great phone, with advice and tips here I've improved it considerably from stock. I've also owned other devices and XDA is a great resource for those and will be for the Moto G 2014 in due course. Patience is the key, more development will come in time, although a couple of non stock kernels and at least one ROM are already here. Enough for me to be pleased about so far.
I don't pay to attention to the kind of threads you allude to, so am happy to ignore them, it takes all sorts to create an active forum, though gw's immature outburst earlier today was classic and earned him the temporary suspension deserved, we shouldn't let posters like that spoil XDA and derail the section. The thread title is usually enough for me to know if its worth opening.
I like this place.

Thank you for this post. Unfortunately I already used my 8 thanks today.
To be clear: I still like XDA! There are several very useful threads, and very good how to's! Maybe I have to learn how to ignore the 'bad' threads. Bus as they say here in Holland: sometimes I can't see the forest anymore because of all the trees...

If you thought that was bad, take a look at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2942803
(Same OP)
The lack of any significant project work for the XT106x is easily accounted for -- an update to the next major revision is due OTA. No-one who is seriously considering working on this device is going to bother until then. And even then, it is best to wait for Motorola to publish the kernel sources.
I don't really understand the fuss about CM on the Moto G anyway. The stock environment is close enough to vanilla that I would be happy to apply Xposed (assuming it will eventually be rewritten for ART and the new framework), build a kernel with a few extra modules and useful patches, and then cook up a zip with half the gapps and motorola software removed... Job done.
It seems like 5.0 still has a few significant bugs to squash before Motorola are happy to roll it out. I'm glad they're taking a more cautious approach, rather than pandering to impatient and self-entitled kids.
I have been a member for nearly 10 years now, when XDA was a very small site dedicated to the XDA PDAs and phones back then. During this time I have seen the site grow into an extremely useful support and development forum for professionals and enthusiasts.
But now I am witnessing a slow decline in those people and a rapid increase in members who contribute nothing and complain when they don't get immediate help and don't thank you when you do give them that help. There are more and more vile trolls who stir up the community too. It's disheartening .
I am not a developer and I still see development as a black art which I would love to be a.part of. But over the years I have offered my help to those in need and spent many hours working through something technical in order to do that. Often as I said with no thanks.
I am not sure what we can do about the influx of those that spoil it for the rest of us. But I am not going to give up being a community spirited contributor to these forums and I hope you guys don't either.

For the most I totally agree with you! Still, for the past few years CM was my rom. So I was accustomed to it. It never ever crossed my mind when I bought this device, that there wouldn't be a CM for it... Call it naive, it probably is!
To make things clear: I'd prefer CM11 over stock lollipop! Even when this lollipop it's very vanilla and AOSP
Whatever, most likely there will be a CM12 in the (near?) future.
Guess I have to learn to be patient too...
@smitharro It is a sign of these times. People do not read. Do not give anything from each other. They think that it's okay to start hundredth thread on the same topic.
I'm on xda since 2008. My first phone call, because of which I set up an account here,is the HTC Wizard. I knew then that I was a noob, so I've read. I read everything possible,to not ask stupid questions, to find answers, to learn something.
People do not read and do not care about others.
Now I think that ignorance requires napalm and a bulldozer.
@rufflove i will always prefer cm over vanila aosp or stock mototrola....cm is way better than anything else out there...
and yes i am a member since 2008 ...and i used use my htc at & t 8525 hermes phone( ya that phone still working and i sometimes use it as my 3g modem).
That time xda used to be a site for windows mobile enthusiasts. (xda is name of windows mobile pda)
Now the members grown to enormous amount....
Still i think xda is the best site around to get help ...

Since my old was 5830i Galaxy Ace , i was happy with that forum it was because half of the forum was controlled by us ( RC's ) , no one was a big noob like don't know anything , even that person doesn't know anything but posting in right section helps him . In these forum when i came to see , my first observation was it is totally messed up with many new to ( ANDROID ) users get my point (ANdroid ) due to that , that members post anything what ever they think & just post .
To control these 1 . Take all over unread thread to be read and understood , then a genuine reply . ( it will take too long time not easy )
2. Or just simply reading there OP & hit report button .
3. Or just ignore them & simply watch .
I understood your thoughts , but what can we do 1 or 2 people against the whole bunch of million people so just time is a key wait for a while & we will be on track . Let they get little bit matured & understand what is XDA .
Thank You

[ANNOUNCEMENT][THREAD CLOSED!]Android N Kernel For Xperia Z2

Note: This is NOT a place holder thread. It's just an official announcment.
Hey everyone. The source for Android N is released, and my friend, @Gustavo RD78 is currently busy on developing the Android Nougat Kernel for the Xperia Z2. He has already developed an awesome working Android N kernel for the Z3C, along with Android N FOR the Xperia Z3C. This kernel is currently under development, and if we can get this kernel working on our loved Z2, then we can all have a working Android Nougat ROM for our beloved Z2.
We currently also need kernel and ROM testers before we actually release it, to make sure there are minimal bugs in the kernel/ROM. To have access to this you must first read through the rules here down below...
1: I, and no one except YOU, is responsible for bricking your device if something goes wrong. Always make a backup. You should be responsible for YOUR actions, so be aware of that.
2: This is for BETA testers ONLY! Expect digital bugs crawling all over your Z2 screen! Be also very aware of that as well.
3: You must swear not to mirror or publicly share this ROM. Not only will others have to suffer with bugs and some occasional bricking, but all the blame will be placed on YOU.
4: You must help us out with at least one thing before we send you the link. (More info down below.)
5: You must follow these rules accordingly and honestly. Don't be rude to us if anything happens to YOUR device. Thank you for reading.
More info on getting Private BETA links...
To have access to the ROM/Kernel beta links, you have to PM me and not only beg for a link, but also promise at least one thing that you will help us out with, like Mirroring the ROM to a different website, or fixing a bug that may appear. All people doing this will be set onto a waiting list. Once we get too much people helping us with the same thing, like multiple people wanting to mirror to a certain link, then we will have to ask you to change your help to something else. Once link is set and ready to go, you will get a PM or Email to the Beta folder's link. If you prefer to be emailed the link, then just please include your email in the Beta test request PM, along with the sentence: "I prefer to be emailed via (insert email here.)" If you are not sent a link, then check down below if I sent the link already or not. If it says down below in this OP: "Status: Link sent to beta testers," and have not yet have gotten your link, then please contact me as soon as possible. Down below is a list of stuff that is already planned by people and not needed from others anymore.
Status: Kernel Under Development
Spots already taken and not needed:
-Mirroring to Google Drive.
-Mirroring to MEGA.
-Mirroring to Dropbox.
Thanks for reading all of this info and reading this announcement. Together we can all make Nougat a dream come true!
Nice start guys, but i can't send you a PM , lol... is there any problem or it's just my browser ...

This not good news at all, but my phone wont charge (unless I use magnetic) and won't send any data or receive data, I know that this is quite a let down! I originally had a charging port that had become faulty over time, so I bought a new one and soldered it on, but is not working the way it should ! I can still mirror the links and do some other things when they come up. Once again, I am so sorry for the letdown. Until I buy a new motherboard I cannot start any testing or debugging!
Hope you understand!
Regards,
Mohamed

MAKE CLEAR some questions..
Hello every body. I need to make clear some questions here. There should be no misunderstanding.
1.I will make no threade on XDA or 4PDA. Ok, you can say, thats i can get there some help) I am not new on XDA and 4PDA, and i known exactly " how much help i can get there". No way)
2.I am working along. Btw i known all worthwhile huawei developers, it is few guys(can count finger on one hand) Some times we talking privat in search of solutions.
3.I never publish what i do. I mean device tree, vendor tree and source..Why?? Because i dont see any point, it is typically for Kirin SoC, you need just to improve it for our device.
It was so with Honor 2 and will so with Honor 7.
4.For future . I think you all waiting for ROM release, but not many of you noticed that every one can still now donate to project. Every one still now can show how much respect a job. I dont decided how it will released, mb i will do it like with Honor 2. I have a closed group for donators(group have 100 members for Honor 2), how really want develop a project, go forward..
5.I known that i get many bad words to me after i publish it. But i really known myself what i "must"....I owe nothing.
6. I hope you all can undestand what i means, if not, am sorry) and wish you good luck. And wellcome who want to stay here with me)

Another avenue we could explore is to port the ROM from the huawei P8, that has the same SoC as the honor 7.
The dev has done a really good job of being public about this see this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/hua...-huawei-p8-unofficial-cyanogenmod-13-t3451457
From the facebook post of this Cyanogenmod Dev it suggests that we'd have to pay for access to his ROM which makes me feel rather uneasy, I'd donate and I'm happy to do so but let it be my choice

So we have to pay for it , we don't have the right to ask for a fully functioning Rom and he owes us nothing !!!!
Looks like a bad deal.

Well, well) Here i am..This arschparty is not full without me.
Can i ask first?
Where did you find, that you must pay? You can not read? Or you can not to undestand what you read?
Code:
but not many of you noticed that every one can still now donate to project
I think is difference. You have allways a choise.
Can i ask one more questions? You blabla makers.. Phone is 2 years old, i dont noticed that some one here tried to build a CM for this phone.. Why? It was a lot time for that. It is fact, no one tried it.. I started 4 month befor, i got this phone 5 month befor.. And i dont thinking about guarantie or somethink like that.. I just started. And i did it.
Here can only blalblabla.. It is true, or you want to try? I can share startup device tree) you can start write now..
You have always a choise, depence of how you see a future.
You said you will not release it on xda then talked about a private group for donors .
It's either my english is bad or yours is.
Yes it's more than a year without a custom Rom and it must be alot of work to stop other people from working on this device and to cost you months working on it but no-one denied any of that in fact the whole forum was exited by your video of CM booting up.
It's a public forum so basically part of it is "blablablabing" with other users about shared topics.

Some are good at blablabla, some are good at development. Let them work on their qualities which they have.
I can understand the frustation of developer by this post. BlaBla people should not expect everything for free. This is worth to pay from my point of view. But XDA has trained us to get us all developments free. So general mindset is also causing problem.

Its the mindset created by the ancestral devs who gave it for free. Basically, not ready to pay for anything. But need to get the best one.
Getting those donators is also a big thing. If those people are in XDA, those names can be posted.
In my opinion it would help every Honor 7 user if you would make your work public. There are only benefits in my opinion so why don't start a thread on XDA posting about everything?
this is good compared to nothing right? we have to thank that lone developer.

Indeed!
Look at this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2750141 No one bug was solved with help of some XDA members in this thread, AFTER ROM was here released!!. And create a thread to explain again and again, how properly install a ROM.. I just dont have a time for that. If you really want help you can find me on FB and offer a help.. And it does not matter, exist a thread on XDA or not..

)) I make allways full wipe, if i install a ROM). I tried change property in build.prop related to fingerprint ID, and reinstalled ROM again with full wipe and reinstalled gapps. But issue is not solved. Can be it possible because of ROM is not preopt??

Hi, you didn't give elements for this problem, so i ask :
- is this issue for all apps ?
- only for apps who need GPS ?
- does GPS work ?
- did you give authorisation for services Google play and playstore for location ?
You also could provide your build.prop
Cordially.

moto g6 play xt1922-7(boost mobile) ota zip

i have pulled the ota zip for this model but im not sure what to do with it so here you go to whoever knows what to do.

This is just a patch. Not the complete firmware. Typically only the full firmware is shared here not just a patch. Entire firmware will be much larger then 72MB. You were able to locate the questions and answers forum but the rom forum is where this belongs. There is a thread in there with complete stock firmware downloads.

yea well im done caring. at least im trying my ass off to get the updated firmware for this specific model since no one else seems to give a damn about this device. this was my last ditch effort. i already switched to a z2 force so good luck to everyone on this. and ive already tried multiple times giving this device away to anyone thats a dev cause i intended on buying a new one but not one person wanted it so im just tossing it at this point. best of luck. if someone thinks they do something with this go for it.

I am on a G6+ so throw a fit if you want. We have a dev who will be getting a device soon and I myself am attempting to build los 15.1 to solve the 1 remaining bug we have on Oreo-based roms/GSIs.
That said, I'm glad you're trying to help the community but there is a right way and a wrong way. Generic no detailed information posts like this can be dangerous. Is this OTA1 is it OTA2 is it OTA3? What firmware version is this to upgrade from and to? I see the version in the file name when clicking the link to your G Drive, but that doesn't help users searching through XDA who might find this patch useful. I don't think a google search result that showed this post would convert the URL to the file name. So even google search wouldn't know what to make of your post. Is it a flashable zip or is it flashed via the bootloader with fastboot? In either case how does a n00b know how to do that? I forget the Boost Mobile variant is a Jeter not Aljeter to which there is not even a firmware posted for(although I believe the Aljeter firmware can be used anyways and gives you a more stock google experience I guess). I did not say take down the patch, it's worthless, etc. I did say it is not typical to share them here. If you truly want to help members provide the proper/necessary information. If you want to cry and whine, don't expect sympathy. Pack your bags, and move on to your new device. You could probably sell it and recover some investment by keeping in mind there is a market segment who cares nothing about custom roms and such and may like to buy the device.
i would def like to know who this dev is then cause the only one that was doing anything has already messaged me saying they dont want the device lol. the boost mobile variant has only had one update so i didnt bother saying anything beside ota zip for boost mobile because its the only one we have recieved for our device model if people cant read thats there problem. its frustration as all hell to have someone saying what your saying right now when there is like me and one other guy it seems trying our hardest for this device and everyone else is like "hey lets watch the jeter guys fail". i had planned on cleaning up the post when im not as pissed about owning a phone with so little support. if you have any friends or dev friends that have this model and would be kind enough to pull a better ota file for us PLEASE be my guest.

Contrary to what you said about no firmwares being around for the Boost Mobile variant of the G6 Play, but, there is firmware available for it, even though it uses the Sprint branded firmware the firmwares are still there for it, after use the phone will provision and activate itself for Boost Mobile per your account that's attached to it, here's a direct link to the firmwares for it: Sprint firmwares for JETER XT-1922-7, it even has the latest firmware for the last OTA patch we got for the November Security Patch Level

I'm calm, just sayin' lol, I think it's funny how people don't wanna wait on development on new devices, in my opinion if you can't wait don't buy the new device, if you buy it knowing that there's not any development available for it then don't complain, it'll just be ignored.

In no way do I consider myself a developer, as I am certified n00b status.
But after reading this thread, I've decided to accomplish a goal I've had in mind for a while, for which I have found very little documentation. If I am successful, I'll post a guide. I'm glad the people who know what they're doing can login to sites like this and give the little guys a fighting chance. Thanks!

I highly advise you to read everything within the Moto g6 play forum to make sure your not basically gonna be copying me and or just gonna create another guide that will have no point in it actually being here because my guide already covers it.

You're being a ****, ****. I was literally thanking you guys, I acknowledged it was an od thread in the title. I thanked you, and the other handful of devs for helping out guys like me, who don't have all of the knowledge to develop themselves, or the money to buy a nicer phone with more support. Anyway I don't hold grudges and I still appreciate your contributions. I'm trying to update mine to Pie but can't find any official files to do so. Anyways ill figure it out, it's just that my moms pixel 2 just broke and we don't have the money to fix it just yet to im really trying to get my jeter ready for her because she needs the phone in order to work. But before all of this i was going to try and compile a custom kernel from scratch for the jeter, for use with the news Andrax Pentesting Framework so that I could finally experience airodump/wifite without external adapter. looks like its gonna have to wait. mom comes first. have a good night bro see ya around.:good:

Anyways ill figure it out, it's just that my moms pixel 2 just broke and we don't have the money to fix it just yet to im really trying to get my jeter ready for her because she needs the phone in order to work. But before all of this i was going to try and compile a custom kernel from scratch for the jeter, for use with the news Andrax Pentesting Framework so that I could finally experience airodump/wifite without external adapter. looks like its gonna have to wait. mom comes first. have a good night bro see ya around.:good:

If you wanna think I'm a **** for being honest with you and forward instead of sugarcoating stuff then go ahead. You said your making a guide. I simply said make sure it's not a guide that already been made because so far we have 5 threads about gsi's and other useless threads that have kinda cluttered this forum and or stuff that my guide covers because once again. There is already enough clutter on the forum. https://forum.xda-developers.com/g6-play/development/ota-moto-g6-play-aljeter-t3921877. To answer your question after being a called a **** that's what your looking for. You have to be on the January security patch to even take/flash it. If you took an Oreo update after the January 1st security patch which I do believe is February 1st for oreo you are out of luck on getting pie until the stock firmware is uploaded on mirrors.

This unacceptable conduct for XDA. This community is very open to free speech, but personal attacks are not welcome, allowed, or tolerated. I'm not going to report it because the mods have enough work as it is. However, I am going to take the time to educate you on XDA's rules regarding language.
"2.1 Language: XDA is a worldwide community. As a result, what may be OK to say in your part of the world, may not be OK elsewhere. Please don't direct profanity, sexually explicit language or other offensive content toward Members or their work. Conversely, while reading posts from other members, remember that the word you find offensive may not be offensive to the writer. Tolerance is a two-way street." -- Emphasis, mine. Source: XDA Announcement.
Please be civil. That was uncalled for. The guy you were responding to was only trying to avoid more mass confusion, because we have too many guides already.
