[Q] Recovery without volume up button

I have a Motorola Xoom that I was trying to boot into recovery.
There's a problem, my volume up button is broken. Didnt realize it before so now I'm stuck at the logo with the choice to scroll between RSD, Fastboot or Recovery but cant select any mode.
Is there a way to exit this ? Tried to keep the power button pressed and tried various combiations of vol down and power but no result.
If I let it sit and drain the battery, will it eventually get out of this mode ?
Thanks
-Sam
Plug it into your computer and run adb then type fast boot reboot.
---------- Post added at 08:24 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:21 PM ----------
Sorry I should be more specific. Download easyadb and unzip it. Plug your Xoom into the computer and open a command prompt in that file with adb in it. Change your Xoom to fast boot protocol support and type fast boot reboot in adb.
---------- Post added at 08:27 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:24 PM ----------
Actually maybe try to press the volume up button really hard..
Hi,
Thanks for your reply. The problem with connecting to the pc is that adb wont recognize the device. Its because the device is stuck in select mode and not going into either of the RSD/Fastboot/Recovery options.
I can scroll through them but even hard pressing the up button wont work. I dropped it and the button doesnt work.
They are pretty easy to take apart, check out some videos on YouTube, etc and see if you can fix your volume button.
Thanks brandogg, Thats what I was planning to do. Or take it back to a verizon store since its still under warranty I think
Use your idea and let the battery drain..
Letting the battery drain overnight worked.
Thanks

Huawei P8 Lite [ROM][6.0] Stock B370 | Stock FF-Edtion (prerootet) bricked

Hello,
Recently I wanted to reset my phone and I accidentally deleted my OS. I tried to install a custom rom called [ROM][6.0] Stock B370 | Stock FF-Edtion (prerootet). It went horribly wrong because my phone got into a bootloop and I cant get it into fastboot/rescue mode. I hope someone can help me because I haven't seen my home screen for days.

You need to flash these four images through fastboot.
System.img
Boot.img
Cust.img
Recovery.img
You can obtain these images from official firmware. Just extract it using Huawei update extractor.

That does not work for me, is it because I installed a custom ROM for a Huawei P8? What can I do else to solve the problem?

Stucked - will pay for help

Hi.
First of all: yes, I'm stupid . Now let's get on with it and solve the problem. If you give me the solution I'll buy you dinner (PayPal). You should also be aware that I'm quite UNfamiliar with expressions and procedures such as flashing, adb, frp, fastboot, etc. Yes, I repeat, I'm stupid . Here is my story:
1. Bought a Huawei Nova in Germany and brought it to Brazil.
2. A few days ago tried a manual upgrade creating a dload folder on the phone and copying a update.app file into it (got it somewhere in this forum).
3. Power + vol up + vol down starts installation that stops at 52%.
4. Power + vol up shows a screen with factory reset and cache clearing options. It only shows very fast, and I'm unable to choose any of them. If by chance the reset option is chosen it does not seem to work. The phone just boots into recovery mode.
5. Power + vol down with the phone NOT connected to a PC leads do recovery mode. It does not recovers anything. It connects to wifi, but also with error msgs at the end.
6. Power + vol down with the phone conncted to a PC leads to Fastboot&Rescue Mode. Below the android image it reads: PHONE Locked, FRP Lock
7. When connected to a PC HiSuite opens, but that's about it.
Guess that's it. Waiting for help.
Correct me if im wrong but, first step you put update app in dload the 3 button flash.....
After flash is done you remove the content of dload then you put the rest of the zip in the dload then re do the 3 button flash for the rest of the update

It was on 70 percent when i charged it first before the magisk update and i have been trying to charge the phone for a while now so i dont think so, but i am not certain as flashing tend to use a lot of battery.
I also flashed several imgs extracted from the official huawei update package beforehand and installed the magisk update in TWRP.

:crying:some solution my huawei p10 plus is dead
Here's my final solution... because the partitioning was destroyed.. i took it back to huawei customer service and because my phone was under warranty, and the fact that they could not verify if the bootloader was unlocked 'since the bootloader software no longer exist on the device' they repaired it under warranty with a free motherboard replacement...
Try the dload method if the keystroke (power button plus volume + and -)works

Just to be clear, none of you actually have the same problem as I did....
So in trying to fix magisk I accidentally flashed a corrupted boot.img and messed up erecovery, which will make it impossible to interact with the phone in any way except to open it up physically. As Partitioning is broken, therefore I took it to huawei repair in China, who did a motherboard for free before asking what roms I used (seriously).
If I was in one of your situations where erecovery is not broken (the thing that's tells u to download and recovery when volume up and power is pressed) in the recovery2 partition on nougat. It would be a matter of simply pressing download and fixing the problem automatically.
Also to be clear my p10 plus has been through hell as I flashed it 20 times that week due to safety net problems so it could have also been that (according to the technician) I simply fried the motherboard.
If this is not what you did or encounter then I repeat YOU ARE NOT HARD BRICKED! and there is a factory provided method for fixing your problems without resorting to flashing.
First: if your bootloader is unlocked, there will be a bootscreen telling you to press vol up to enter erecovery. If you can do that then problem solved, use the download function to repair your phone (it will lock your bootloader showing that I was never unlocked, as well as format data and all other partitions, so your will lose twrp or any custom recovery)
Btw: in oreo the recovery for huawei is located at ramdisk_recovey partition, and the erecovery partition can no longer be written to which in essence makes the china edition of these phones unbrickble as long as u didnt fry anything.
If erecovery doesn't work for you, try routing your wifi through a vpn that changes your ip to China, that will guarantee it to works as well as faster download(hicloud servers are in China).
Idk about the European and international variants but I have done this more the 40 times on my mate 9 pro and p10 plus, the only time I corrupted anything was by flashing images, SO ONLY DO FLASHING AS A LAST Resort.

Help me please?

Thanks to @KineSight for his support
Do the following :
Force reboot your phone (I think Volume Down+Power)
and quickly after that you have to press and hold the volume up to boot into TWRP.
This might take a few tries but you can do it.
Once you're in TWRP Flash Magisk 20.3 (It was placed in your Internal Storage by Eureka Kernel @Chatur27)
Your phone should boot fine. You can flash Magisk 20.4 after this.

Force reboot work if i press power+vol down button
To go to download mode
Normal method
1. Turn off phone
2. Hold down both volume keys
3. Plug in computer
Bootlooping
1. Plug in to computer
2. Hold down both volume keys
For a difficult phone
1. Connect usb to computer but not to phone
2. Hold down all 3 keys
3. When it buzzes release power and quickly plug in usb to phone.
It might take a few times to get it right.
If it's REALLY BAD
1. Wait for the battery to completely run down and use normal method.
