Mine has stayed great so far, I've had it for about a month but I really baby my phones. I take it in and out of a case all the time and havn't seen any damage so far.

Even on my phone ... Those damages are not visible easily but upon tilting phone i see some wyt spots

I feel really worried abt it. Ant ways can u tell me how much it may cost me to replace the body in service center

So this tells us we need to keep Moto g5 plus in case, always.

Screen replacement

My moto x play fell down and the gorilla glass(?) , only the outer glass has cracked, the screen seems to be working fine , how much will it cost to get it fixed in India?
Not sure what the labour will cost you to replace the screen but the part is going for $100 + $20 shipping in US dollars on eBay.

It's actually not. If you order 2 you save $10. You can order 1, it just costs $74.99, while ordering 2 will cost $70/each.
My bad

u can grab new digitizer and lcd from aliexpress at cheap rate
i am looking for topmost panel for moto play too. Lcd display and digitizer too is intact imo. Not sure whether one can get bare minimum part or needs to buy whole assembly. Would appreciate update on thread if something turns out. Also i am from india.
Btw, i couldnt find complete dismantling procedure video yet as phone is still new. People have not dismantled its screen from digitizer and lcd panel etc. So if someone finds it, that can help too.
Moto X Play LCD Screen and Digitizer Assembly
Ordered new LCD Screen and Digitizer Assembly from this place. Its easier to replace whole unit than just the glass. I have used them before on Moto G had no problems.
Haven't found a video yet on how to replace screen on Moto X Play yet still waithing.
Go to etradesupply.com cost about 47$ plus Transport. Usually buy 2 one for spare as whole family will use same phone in future

Cost of Screen Replacement in india for Moto x Play
Hi ,
Would like to know the price for the screen replacement. since it has got broken today.
Regards,
Selva
So many X Play and X Style/Pure displays breaking so easy. Wonder if Lenovo to save costs used thinner glass. Would be a scary thing.

Hey guys, just ordered a screen for my Moto X Play from Eddogo on Ebay. It was half the price of the others, so I am excited/anxious to see if the screen is good or not. I broke my X Play glass on the first drop after two weeks of having the phone...

Same here...phone is very fragile and give me a doubt whether it has Gorilla glass or not...phone fell from 2 feet that too the backside of the phone hit the ground and the entire front glass has been cracked...even small small pieces are juz ripping off the phone...the worst scenario is I had tampered glass on the phone and still the screen broke...not even a month old phone :'(
i broke my moto x play xt1562 display, please let us know the quality of after market part.
I got the screen today. It looks promising. After disassembling my phone, I find out that the replacement screen is only the screen and glass, not the plastic and aluminium frame that the rest of the phone is attached to.
It is mounted with glue and very hard to get off my cracked screen, so I did not want to break anything.
The only disassembly guide on the internet:

Does not cover this part

It looks fine visually, but I can't mount it on my phone without peeling off the fragile plastic that is glued to the edge of the screen,(the little edge you can feel when you hit the end of the screen.), and getting the aluminium frame off the screen.
Not sure what I am going to do now... I don't want to break my phone further.

Several Questions after MOTO X FORCE received

I've brought a new MOTO X FRORE from UK (carphone warehouse). Looks great! Will appreciate if anyone can answer me:
1. What's the material of the surface ? Looks like plastic but not glass.
2. Is it possible to disable "google search" as it's the default APP which could not be stopped manually ? Here in my country google service was blocked so nothing it can do but consume the power.
3. When/How can we root MXF ?
4. My MXF's rear is ballistic nylon.. Little hairs, paper was easily attahced to the rear. Anyone has the same experience ? And how to prevent this ?
5. How many people has MXF instead of turbo 2 ?
Tks guys !
1. plastic probably
3. no one knows, we must wait
It's shatterproof kind of plastic screen protector. Bad is that many users and reviewers reported as it easy to scratch. Workaround is to put glass protector on the top of shatterproof protector

I've found mine durable enough so far. I wouldn't put it in a pocket with keys or a coin (although I wouldn't do that with gorilla glass either) but it's lasted my days so far. Face down on a table, or using it outside in a dusty area like a construction zone. No scratches so far. Doesn't seem to be a delicate as made out to be at least.
Moto should (if not already) offer top layer replacement. Probably will be more expensive than laternative from Amazon or ebay.

Yeah they have it on their site here. 30 bucks though. But it is an exact fit, whereas I don't think Amazon would have something that fits like this would. Wonder if this one includes the Verizon logo or if this is an X Force/Turbo 2 universal piece that doesn't have the logo.

It doesn't really bother me to be honest. I don't mind the logo, even though I thought it looked atrocious when it was first revealed. In fact I forgot it was even there. I meant it more for the other people who couldn't stand it.
Honestly I would like to see soft buttons instead logo or smaller bezels.
I have same phone... I like screen so far it doesn't seem to pick up as much grease a gorilla glass..
Not sure if I'll keep it yet though but much better than bb priv
I too have the MXF got it from the same place Carphone Warehouse on the 21st, excellent phone best decision i made for a phone since i got the htc desire in 2010
Mine arrived yesterday. Built in moto. Screen scratches easier than GG but loving the unbreakability factor. Wouldn't recommend the leather. Wish I had gone for the grippy soft backs as the leather is a bit slippy on car dashboard hehe. Battery life awesome in standby but when used it drains as fast as other phones but I can get a full day of heavy use so all good. Not sure I like lack of IR blaster and also no fingerprint reader but I'll see how I adapt

Do you have any scratches on your moto g4 plus?

I have one crack on the flash and two small scratches on the camera(not affecting quality as far as I can tell). I just bought this phone 3 days ago I don't know when or how these cracks/scratches appeared. The front screen and fingerprint button are in mint condition.
I wanna know if you guys have noticed similar or the same issues.
Yep u r right, camera and the surrounding area is prone to get scratches even if you take a lot of care, probably due to cheap quality plastic used. Mine is full of scratches too
ya sme

I also got sme scratch on camera module dont know how.....till now its nt affecting the camera quality bt still worried for future
I got couple of scratches on rear camera... they should have used Corning Gorilla Glass
Same here the cover of the cam module is of low quality I guess.
I guess using camera skin will help......to some extent
Don't knowwhy this happened. But I want to ask that when did you order?
Am suspecting that there are some difference in quality in different batches. Mine doesn't have a single scratch, but my brothers have lots of scratches.

I got it a week ago, the scratches came with it. It was the last one in the store.
Yes, the Camera protector glass is much prone to scratches as it's the first thing to touch the surface when you land the phone. I observed these scratches on my colleague's phone. When I ordered one, I quickly got it protected by an Armor back case. Now I am not worried of fall or scratches besides it gives good grip
Anyone in the forum, who ordered on day 1?
Also, i want to ask that if anyone compared the brightness values between the 1st day order and those ordered afterwards? I observed great difference in the colour. Mine produced white but my brother's was having a little yellowish tint.

I think the Crack you mentioned on flash is a separator for two led flash being of different colors. Also it's a fine thin line which is quite straight. Cracks generally are not so straight. But yes I also have few scratches on the camera protector
No scratches at all on my Moto g4+ ordered from Amazon.

It is NOT the seperator line, I know there is one that goes like a -. The crack is more like a / that ain't straight.

Camera glass longevity/scratch resistance?

Thinking about a G5 plus to replace my 2014 G2 lte, but the protruding lens does not look good and worries me. Specially since lenovo's camera "glass" on previous Moto phones seems scratch prone.
So, anyone with real world data care to chip in?
Does it scratch or not?
It's now down to the G5 plus, the 2017 A5 (i have hatred towards samsung and the fragile glass back is just stupid) or Oneplus 3t (which actually is a wee bit too pricey in my book).

Well if you can go for one plus 3t it would be worth it in every way.. But as far as i can see about this device.. If u are an average user like me with mildly heavy usage u'd be more than happy with this moto g5 plus
PS. The back camera doesn't seem so fragile to me but ur milage may vary I'd recommend putting on a case.. Just in case

You may go with Moto G5+ if camera is your priority. And coming from G2 it would be a great upgrade. The SOC used is phenomenal its gives a good battery life with a great performance.
The bulged out camera lens is made up of glass and is scratch resistance but to be on a safe side use a cover.

I don't think it's scratch resistant. My brother has a G4 and it got scratched horribly. Wouldn't expect much from G5 either. I'm still waiting for a decent case to appear in the market. Definitely getting one asap

In G4+ it had a plastic len but it is not case with g5+. G5+ has a glass camera lens. Yes we must use a good cover as it might get scratches.

Hmm that's true. But it depends on the type of glass as well. OnePlus 3's glass got scratched easily and so they replaced it with sapphire glass in 3T

Oh awesome! Having already bought the 3, I was kinda disappointed when I read about the Sapphire glass in 3T

Small chips on G6 metal frame

Hi all.
I recently bought the LG G6, just yesterday.
Today I have found that the metal frame already developed small chips off the metal frame.
They are very tiny, but can be seen when the light at the right angle hits it.
The phone has been at home since unboxing, never dropped, or hit against anything.
I'm thinking that maybe the phone came with this dings and I just failed to notice them upon unboxing the phone yesterday.
I bought the phone parallel imported sourced from Singapore (or Hong Kong).
Model: LG G6 H870DS Black
I have attached a photo of the chipping located at one of the bevel corners of the metal frame. They look silver/white and stands out from the black metal colour.
What I want to ask is, what are your experience with the durability of the G6's metal frame? Is it supposed to be this susceptible to damage? Or should I be returning it as metal shouldn't easily get these blemishes after just having it for over a day?
Thanks.
That's not normal behaviour, i have mine since launch and use it naked (no case), not seen anything like this.
I have 1 little scratch on the back because of a colleague
mine also has no defects on frame but am sure they will come, that band is aluminium which is quite soft and because of the sharp edge I think it will mark (dent) quite easily, best bet is a case like the ultra slim hybrid from Spigen which doesn't cover the whole phone so it looks like any other phone but protects the important bits while one can still see the funky design etc of the G6

Oh wow. Would you say that the frame on yours doesn't have any scratches/dings at all? I was planning on using it naked but doubting because of my frame's state.
Sorry to hear about your scratch
Yep, my frame is as it came out of the box.
I've been using my silver/platinum G6 naked for about 3 weeks now, still looks like it did when I unboxed it.

Where did you get your G6 from?
My case is different as the defect is external rather than internal like the display.
I went to the store I got it from as soon as I could but they denied it is a manufacturing defect, saying I could've caused the dents within the one day's use I had and that they can't do much about it.

I got it at TIM Brazilian Carrier... Once, I realized that my G6 wasn't perfect, I took it to the authorized technical support right away... LG is going to ship my new astro black G6 unit on Monday.... I guess I was lucky, because I was afraid tha LG would fix my G6, by replacing the entire display, and my G6 wouldn't be the same anymore...
Oh man, that's sad.. Put a case on it....
