700? Flagship - Essential Phone Questions & Answers

This is an expensive flagship device..700$ not water resistant, no wireless charging incorporated. It will let our qi chargers useless, coz you need to buy its own wireless charger designed for it.

My last device(Nexus 6P) is not water resistant.
I have not had a water resistant phone, ever.
I have never dropped one in water. So for me it's not an issue.
I don't use wireless charging. Gave up on it after my LG G3.
Those aren't deal breakers for me. I do with there was a Micro-SD slot or a 256GB option.
But what can you expect from a Google guy.

Okay I'm gonna go ahead and say since two people have not provided links now.... That the ONLY pictures and video samples that' are available are the ones from the walt Mossberg interview, that were taken with the 360 camera. Can ANYONE provide a link to another sample???? Oh let's also not forget the recently posted ciurtside 360 video posted by Andy Rubin on Twitter.

I like having water resistants, that said.. I got the HTC G1 on launch day and 20 phones later not one has had water damage. So, though I like having it, not a deal breaker.

Both those links seem super sketchy. Just looks like random footage with random devices stitched together. The actual device isn't even shown.

[Q] Anyone ever used external lenses?

Hi I'm curious about external lenses. Found some on the net fisheye, macro, wide angle etc. Did anyone ever use these? How they affect photos. I'm thinking to give them a try but don't know anything about lenses and if they worth money or not :silly:

I have the photojojo lenses. They work very well. With the fisheye lens you can see a black rim on the edge of the photo. They are attached with a magnet that you put around the rim of the camera lens. I would recommend them. Just so you know the photojojo lenses ane not any different from the no name Chinese ones. They will work with any smartphone camera. Here is a review.
I have , I bought them on amazon , search patazon camera lens kit ,mine came from China but I like them a lot. They where about 17 bucks including shipping.

They're completely worth the money. I have telephoto, fisheye, macro and wide angle lenses. The telephoto lens is particular useful since digital zoom sucks.
Where did you find the telephoto lens and which one. How does it stay on the phone?
I have some pretty cool sometimes I hate carrying the lenses around

Its hard to take a steady shot lol. My hands are real shaky, BTW this is indoor shot with very low light so I used a flashlight to get some light. When you use these lenses the flash is blocked .

It seems like the Photojojo is the most reliable one. But for 50$? Too expensive. Are there any other alternatives in amazon/ebay? It would be awesome if it would be a set.

Yeah they mainly leave 1 star cause it blocks the flash. ,like I said before the patazon kit I got came from China so it took a long time to get but overall I don't regret getting them. Good luck:thumbup:

I bought a cheap one from Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007VI3S1M/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
There are cheaper ones, but that is the one I bought. I did not see me using the fisheye so that saved me money.
Here are pictures of an eye and a cable for my headphones. That cable has nasty stuff in it!

Viewmaster VR + Note 4 = Awesome

I had no intentions of experiencing VR in the near future but I found the Viewmaster VR for 25$ and got one for my daughter. Gotta say, its pretty sweet. Its basically a better made google cardboard setup. There are plenty of free apps to try and I'm pretty impressed by the experience. Im sure the Gear VR is better for many reasons, but for 25$ its a must for show off and really educational reasons. Google street has a VR mode and allows users to upload photospheres from places, monuments, and landmarks from all over the world(VR is not necessary to view btw). I was looking up at the Great Pyramid of Giza this morning!
If anyone has found some cool apps or had a good experience feel free to share. Merry Christmas.

Cool. Discovery VR app has some good real life video that's impressive. I just found orbulus app as well, but I can't get the viewer off of my wife to try it. That's a good sign in guess. I am surprised with the amount of content available.

yeah, not to bright there. seems every case has some sort of non stock charger and or charger cable involved. still haven't seen any proof of any of the USA melt downs being snapdragon devices. the one on Reddit the guy said he thinks it was a T-Mobile device, but not confirmed as far as I know.

Um..... I smell something fishy here. I already turned in my note, but this seems odd. News report said he had the phone 4 days, they have not been sold in 7, says he didn't get notification, I have had 2 texts from AT&T and 2 emails from Samsung. With the fire being in the vehicle, how do they know the note started it. Have had a dodge work truck main wiring harness short out and go up like that. Factory defect from Dodge. He said he did lots of mods to his vehicle, did he mess with the radio?? Was that the cause?? Just seems every USA report has a fishy element to it.

I'd think fire investigators will be more than capable of determining if the Note 7 was truly the source of the fire or not. Keep watching folks, house fires and workplaces are still to come! Crazy!

This whole fiasco seems really suspect. Maybe someone is purposely trying to stall Note7 sales.
We all new the insurance fraudsters would come out once the recall was official.
POS jeeps burst into fire all on their own without needing Samsung's help.

New samsung promotion

A buddy of mine works for tmobile and he told me samsung is having a new promotion with the note 7. He said that till November 1st if you register your new replacement note 7 on the samsung website they will send you a fire extinguisher to show appreciation for being devoted customers. So don't drag your heels and take advantage. [emoji23] [emoji23]

No one wants to laugh at the fact that this is the best darn phone Samsung ever made and it's being plagued with battery problems. The freaking battery is what will do the Note 7 in. The fracking battery! Damn you Samsung! Damn! Dann! Damn! I need a glass of milk. :fingers-crossed:

This is just another reason that Samsung should stay with a removable battery. The biggest mistake they did with this crap.... This will teach them a lesson. LOL

Aha, wondered why there was no proper reviews yet, I assumed that Journos where handed units to review at the launch, but clearly has only just happened. Personally I need to read a few reviews before going for this or waiting for something like the Mate 9 or S8
Just for you to know, that video is online (and visible to everyone) since the 5th of October.

Indeed... But the phone of the video has nothing to do with those Pixels shipped in advance by the Australian operator which are the subject of the AP article linked.
(And the video in the first post as well has nothing to do with review samples being shipped)
Lighten up ,it's a thread about pixel phones being out there now for some ,but then the Aussie messed up and sent some out early ,so there you go ,it about phones out there now
