I can go 2 days+ on one charge but then again I am not staring at my screen all day long. I do not watch movies or play games on a 5.5" screen. The bulk of my average use is texts and email, followed by GPS, Chrome, and a few other apps. Love this phone!!!! OH yea, I even make the occasional phone call on my cell phone!

I browse a lot, chat a lot (whatsapp), some YouTube (short reviews), no series or movies, no streaming music or listening music while screen on
last post were almost solely on wifi, previous one mixed 4g wifi, and no I don't put screen time out to ridiculous minutes just to achieve sot. All this on my regular use. With similar usage, this is better than my previous s8+ exynos (6-7ish hours).
Disabled Google now as I don't plan to use it at all nor the assistant.
45-50% brightness on auto
Turn off location when I don't use it for navigation
Rarely use phone phone calls, only short minutes in whatsapp call
The battery is just that good for my usage.

No offense, it was just to share that our personnal usage are very different and affect drastically our battery and SoT.
for eg. only playing (Clash of Clan or Trials Frontiers) leads my SoT down to 3h45.
While doing other stuffs like you described allow me to reach nearly 6h SoT.
I also have a very bad 4G/LTE coverage and it affects a lot my results.
You are having very good result btw.

None taken bro. Indeed usage between each users will be different. Which is why I usually compare to my other devices I own or previously owned. My typical usage everyday comprised a lot of typing in chat apps with customers. Obviously I will get more screen on time than a person who plays game on their phones.
My previous phones sot, my typical usage: (i owned a lot of phones cuz I sell phones for a living lol)
My friends brag about their iPhone 7 plus and it's stellar battery life. But with my typical usage, I never get past one day mark without needing to top up.
S8+ was awesome, but in my typical usage of mixed Lte and wifi, it rarely goes past 7 hrs mark. On full wifi tho, I can reach 8-9 hrs of sot. This was all achieved after disabling a lot with package disabler.
Op3t: wifi 6.5 hrs, Lte 4-5 hrs huge difference between wifi and Lte
P10+: wifi 6.5 hrs, Lte 5hrs
Pixel xl: wifi 6.5hrs, Lte 5.5 hrs
HTC 10: wifi 6hrs, Lte 5.5-6 hrs
XZ premium on the other hand, my norm is 7-8 hours mixed Lte wifi, 8+ on wifi.
Typical day of streaming, texts, two email accounts and some browsing. Only thing missing is WiFi tether, as I was at home today. Much like other Sony devices I've had, battery life borders on outstanding.

Battery life is pretty good here. With bluetooth on (for the bluetooth headsets), youtube, browsing, some gaming, and talking on messenger/whatsapp, my SOT is between 6-7 hours. Compared to my old phone where 2 hours and half was awesome for it, this phone makes me more than happy with its battery,

I was getting about 7hs of SOT on the the first 3 or 4 days.. but now, the battery consumption is really high Im struggling to get 3..4hs.... Gonna try a hardreset.

a very subjective question, site to variations in usage, but to give a rough idea, 6 hours is reasonably good, you would expect that if you were browsing over WiFi, listen to a bit of music and make a couple of calls.......but as I said, a highly subjective question

that tends to use more battery, especially if signal is a bit weak, so expect a bit less.....there are a lot of posts in q&a regarding battery life and how to improve it, so having a good read will help you nail down any battery drain problems
The average I get is 4 hours. That includes 50mins of calls, 1 hour of wifi usage, 15 mins of gaming, and just using a few applications. My 3G and mobile data are off so I'm going to assume that my battery life is pretty bad! I don't understand how people claim 5-6 hours of battery life. I've tried everything (no gaming, no calls, hardly any internet) but I can never reach that magical number.
Plus, Android System consumes a lot of my battery on JB.

Anywhere from 4-8 hours is what I get depends if you have sync on or what apps you use browsing get easy 7 hours screen on

well my average is 4.5 hours without powersaving mode on ..wifi on everytime the screen is on sync on and with powersaving mode on i get like 5h or more same wifi on sync on
I get around 4hours normally, which includes music through headphones for 6-7 hours and sending about 150txts along with a bit of browsing and general messing about.
4hrs - 5hrs. Wi-Fi and data on, screen medium brightness, powersaving off, mainly just browsing and texting. I'm happy, gets me through to bed time.

I don't mess with any battery saver type apps and I get 4 hours SOT consistently. The only time I don't is when I end up having 3-4 hours of phone calls.

Lets just say if I can get 2hrs I'll be happier.... I usually get 1-1.5hrs and can get 2.5 if I disable bluetooth, location, and have adaptive brightness off with the display at 0 brightness. My phone is a unicorn of bad battery life
I've been getting 2-3 only and I am NOT very happy with this. I'm really considering strongly to send it back. I don't want the stress of my Phone not lasting me all day with the usage that I want. I don't want to need to live tethered to a charger.
I voted 4-5, but am a light user compared to most people I know, so that's well over a 24 hour period. I do believe if I used the phone as much as I used too, and most people I know do, I'd easily be close to 6.

Settings & apps usually have far less to do with SOT than use habits. If you want huge SOT, charge your phone to 100% and read a Kindle book in the dark with screen brightness turned down as far as possible until the battery dies. If you want lousy SOT, leave the phone off most of the day, then play a graphics-intensive FPS in full sunlight for an hour. An app syncing in the background every 15 minutes isn't going to have nearly as much impact.
My first day with the Nexus 5X game me just shy of four hours of SoT. 3 hours and 40 minutes to be exact. Mostly reddit and texting.
I'm not voting because of course the battery completely depends on the that day's specific usage and there's no options for multiple votes.
But I can tell you that my results so far have been 3 hours SoT with my heaviest usage (low signal mobile data with some gaming thrown in) and 5-6 hours SoT on more normal days (good signal, WiFi). A noticeable improvement over the N5 in as I do not have to disable software features to obtain these results.
I'll be posting more results in the Battery Life thread over time but you can see my first shared results below (50% brightness, all software features enabled except Locations).

The poll is used to record your average SoT throughout multiple days. So let's say I got 4 hours on day and 2 hours the next then my average would be 3.
It looks like the average SOT is just under 4 hours but there is a surprisingly large variance. Most people are near the average but the results are more spread out than I would have guessed. I wonder why there is such a big difference in the battery life people experience.

After a week of me owning this phone, I average a little over 3 hours of SOT but I like running my phone screens at near full brightness. This screen gets much, much brighter than my M9 so I usually run the screen at like 80% brightness and adaptive brightness.
However, I recently discovered that SMS, MMS and calls still work when Wifi is enabled during airplane mode. So hopefully this has a positive effect on battery life when I'm home, at a friend's house, or at work (90% of my life).

Which points out the fact that the only measurement this poll will accurately show is how long most people look at their screens before they need to charge. It really can't be used to draw any realistic conclusions about 5X battery life. I answered 4-5h based on my experience over the last week, and this level of usage always required daily charging. But over the last 2 days, I made a point to try to reduce SOT and right now it's looking like I'll go nearly 3 days before I need a charge.
For me the phone will last alright when I don't touch it (with the exception of the occasional weak cell area) but as soon as I turn the screen on, the battery drops really fast. Ive been averaging about 2 hrs SOT which is disappointing because that's about the same as my n5.
After a week I'm averaging around two to three hours. Doze seems to not be working correctly. Oh well.
With N DP3, 5-6 hours should be the average on heavy usage and 7+ for light to medium

Loving the battery life. I have the XT1955-2 dual sim, I believe its for the Mexican/Latin market. After using it for 5 days and giving it a few full charges, I'm having no problems getting 12 hours of screen on time. Right now I'm at 54% with a screen on time 7 hours and 54 minutes. Yeah the phone has some short comings, I bought for the battery life and it is exceding my expectations. Wonder what the single sim phone will do.
What apps do you use? Do you keep gps or Bluetooth on? Is most usage on wifi or LTE?

I have bought Moto G7 Power too, the European Model. Its battery life is impressive really! I keep open 4G at all times and I get about 14 hours of SOT.

And how would you discribe your usage pattern?
Any special apps on daily, heavy usage?
I got around 5 hours SOT right now and fully charged around 24 hours ago with 60% juice left.
I feel like my battery life is a bit weaker than your experience. Or do I overreact ?

In my opinion Watching Youtubes / Social Media / WhasApp / Browsing do not drain the battery that much
Only running GPU or ALwAYs 3D GRAPHIC ON counts towards depleting the battery.
IF you can download photorealism 2018 free and using that app to drain your battery from 100% with 40% brightness you will see

I went a whole weekend using the phone on mobile data only, no WiFi, and the battery was wonderful. Better than being on WiFi. Wasn't expecting that.

But, i was hoping you did super heavy usage of SOT

Sometime soon, I plan on seeing how long this will do vr. That ought to be enough for a decent battery drain test
EDIT
Running this device around 70-80% of it's max speed seems to be the point where the battery starts to drain. What I mean is, pushing this device hard results in almost normal draining (compared to a standard battery size). Light to moderate usage seems to have no effect on the battery life, but larger more demanding tasks that push it clearly drain the battery. I'm trying to explain the battery barely drops until a big game is loaded. Then it drops slowly (but quick compared to light usage). I anticipate getting 8hrs of real gaming (psx emu) and still 8hrs light use.
For those who are rooted using Magisk, can you try the the FDE.AI module for a week or so and see if you are getting better battery life. I'm seeing some noticable improvement.

To be honest, I bought this phone mostly because of it's screen on time! I usually get 7-8 hours SOT which I think is great! My LG G6 was a great phone, everything was awesome except the battery life! I would get 4-4.5 hours of screen on time, which was not enough! That's the reason I opted for Galaxy A50! 8 hours SOT with Super Amoled display was the sole reason!
[Galaxy A50] I use mobile data when I'm out of home, GPS is always on with the highest accuracy setting, manual brightness 40%-60%, always on display, AdGuard app, internet speed meter app running all the time! Most of time I use Chrome, Youtube, Netflix, Facebook, Twitter and some other apps.

There's few things that are terrible like Cellular Signal Strength is very poor comparing my other phones like Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro and LG G6! Mobile data really sucks! On screen fingerprint is way too slow! Even won't recognize always if you don't place your finger in the exact place of the screen! Oh man! It has been a real pain in the ass for me! I would like to get back my physical rear fingerprint from my previous phones! They are so fast and this on screen fingerprint is just crap!
Sometimes Wifi would stop working and you would probably scratch your head to figure out whats wrong! After diagnosing your router and internet connection, you would be so pissed to know that everything was just fine! Now you would reboot the phone! Bang! Wifi works again! :laugh:

It's amazing how much we actually use our phones in a given day, especially when we watch "videos"! Rate this thread to express how many hours of screen-on time you can get on the before depleting the battery.

While I don't believe you would get that amount of SOT over a prolonged period, it does point out that raw mah isn't everything.
I agree it won't get that much in real life. I am curious however how the SOT will be for people that will not use the radar, no AOD and possibly even no face unlock, stay on 60hz and just want a great camera, good speed and latest assistant and have the best Google ecosystem experience. I am that kind of user.
I looked at the 3axl but it is noticeably slow and I need a fast phone for different work needs.

no doubt, those conditions that you just stated should save a substantial amount of battery life. My 6T is 3700mah and I get around 6-8hrs sot(depending on usage) no reason to think the pixel can't achieve that with superior software.
Got the phone yesterday, charged all the way up before turning on at about 5pm. Went to bed about midnight. Galaxy S2 watch connected around 7 pm. Did setup, some netflix, and typical messing around with a new phone. Didn't screen shot it, but when I was going to bed last night, I had 4h03M SOT with 47% left. I don't expect it to translate to 7hrs or anything, but it seems better than my previous Note 9 and S8+.

Roger that on the N9! My wife's N9 looses a minimum of 10% overnight at idle. Shoot, my Chevy suburban with 6 people going uphill at 75mph gets better mileage! ???
I got the phone yesterday and charged it too 100% and my screen on time was 6hrs 5 Mon with 9% left. I don't get why the negative battery comments and reviews so far. 6 hours is more than enough.
First cycle with dynamic 90hz no point of forcing always to 90hz. Most social media apps. Tg and duo suck a lot of battery.

Lol ? it was alright when they were on data and it improved when connected to WiFi
The battery is not that bad... here are my screenshots. I am not a gaming person but I usually was surfing the internet, Facebook, etc... and use message app and did use the camera. I turned motion sense off since I am Deaf so I can't hear the music and my hands are getting tired from wave and wave.

Got my 4XL yesterday and it was at 60% out of the box. I used it like normal and with more than 3hr 30min of screen on-time it was at 24%. I don't think it will be that bad.
2nd cycle I guess since it's under 75% it was at 60hz didn't notice any difference screen still very smooth.

I believe they meant the screen brightness was under 75%. When it is, the screen only runs at 60hz.
So I've had the Pixel 4 XL , for 3 full days in the UK now.
Day 1 SOT was 6 hrs 3 mins with 9% left
Day 2 SOT was 6 hrs 15 min with 4 % left
Day 3 SOT is 5 hrs 1 min with 18% left.
The battery is more than adequate. I had the 3 XL which would get a max of just over 4 hours. I'm new.to the forum but I have screenshots as well but don't have a clue how to upload lol. The phone is on 90hz at all times too But most times you can't really tell. It's an amazing phone so fast, the disappointment is video quality again and some of the pic quality is similar levels to 3 XL but I need to fully utilise the camera.
I got similar SOT with 6 hr 12 min and 9% battery left. This with using "force" 90hz , 87% brightness , and always on display (thought it was not always on!). Battery is more than adequate for my usage.
