New firmware update USA model - Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 Guides, News, & Discussion

What's new:
Improved camera UI
That's it. No other improvements. The update is 150mb in size, so i am hoping there would be behind the scenes bug fixing. Especially hoping it would fix the wifi sleep battery drain issue. Will update this thread in a couple of days on my findings.

Update: I can confirm that this update does not fix the wifi/sleep issue. Went to bed at 10pm and checked the tablet at 6am. Lost 12% battery. Battery Usage tells me the tablet was awake the whole time and did not go to sleep mode. This is really bad compared to my S8+ which only loses 3% battery overnight.
Still the fix would be to switch off wifi before going to bed and the tablet will only lose 1 to 2% of its battery.

This one lost 5% over sleep but that's still a lot. I'm testing an old Asus Nexus 7 for the hell of it (it hadn't been turned on for 4 years and literally two days ago updated it to 5.1 and just left it to see if the battery would hold). The Nexus 7 is beating the S3 so far. Also have an iPad to compare and that thing can stay in standby for a month solid.
I'm just going to turn it off when not in use, waiting a minute for bootup (plus fingerprint so no having to fiddle with pw screen) isn't a huge deal to me.

Yeah it's annoying that Samsung can't get it right, even after more than a year with several devices running on the SD820 platform. I just don't get how my pixel, with nearly the same hardware, is so much smoother and more battery efficient. /rant
Anyways, I just have WiFi set to turn off when the screen is off. I only charge it once every 4-5 days with light to moderate usage

Idiots are probably not aware of the issue. WTF is there no theme store?? Getting tired of this SAMMY BS.

Download LInk?
Does anyone have a link so I can Download the latest update? Or do I need to remove root and then update in the traditional way? (I would prefer to have a file I can flash in Odin)
your help is appreciated.

FYI - I have a case I keep my tablet in. WHile in the case, I didn't use the tablet for two weeks. Busy having fun with new S8+) anyway, I still have over 50% of my battery remaining. When I open the case, the screen comes on very quickly. It appears that being in the case has helped to put this thing to sleep and I guess that puts battery drain down to about that 2% to 3% your S8+ gets.

Remove root and go back to stock if you want ota update.
You should be able to find the firmware on sammobile.com.
I also have a case on mine with the screen on off function but still the tablet doesn't go to sleep.

Sammobile doesnt have the firmware for XAR which I beleive is the US. I saw a link previously for the old firmware somewhere to samsung firmware - but when I search that site, I can't find the new update. I will try other options.
thanks

Everyone seems to be using the tablet for light duty thus far.
I'm going to chime in and add that I'll be using it for CPU intensive apps. Re: SoundCamp, FL Studio, and other heavy tasks. Don't think this will live up to "12 hour run time" that everyone's oohing and awwing over XD
I wound up getting the battery to about 13% and turned on "battery saver" for the day. It was supposed to last 23 hours. When the work day was over (about 16 hours by the time I got home) it was off. Figured it was worth testing time to complete-off from full charge. No idea when it actually turned off, but the system isn't optimized for this so-called battery saver mode either. Every other device I've owned with this feature has had accurate results (sometimes more), but not here.

Thinking of returning mine coz of the wifi bug and going back to my s2.

What kind of bug? Lost connection? I have this issue on mine s3
Enviado do meu ONEPLUS A3003 através de Tapatalk

The battery drain bug thats been referred to in many places here. Not sure if and when it will be fixed.
The older S2 doesn't have this problem and it seems like the Exynos 5433 with it's 8 standard ARM cores as opposed to Qualcomm's custom 4 cores in 820 (though theoretically faster) handle Touchwiz better with less UI jankiness since both run Nougat 7.0 now.

There is a a ADQC firmware out for a lot of countries including UK, trying that one to see if the Wifi bug is fixed. Why do they delay the US version so much is beyond me? Same story with the S2 firmwares, went to the Germany/Singapore version since US receives firmware updates last, even though there are no carrier delays for the Wifi only versions.

This firmware resolves the issue: http://updato.com/firmware-archive-select-model?record=1D0F4E90377111E7963AFA163EE8F90B ! Confirmed 0% drain over 3 hours on standby would have def lost at least 2-3 % by now.
Look for BTU firmware T820XXU1AQDC if the link expires.

Does anyone not charge their tab overnight? That negates all of this *****ing. Then it is at 100% when you wake up. Win win for all.

I charge on the weekends. I use the tab to take notes for work during the week.
Currently, I have tasker turn off wifi when the screen is off. I have updated, so I'll try without tasker.

I take my earlier comment back, aqdc still has the wifi drain bug, very annoying. Also, the new ipad pro makes this look like a joke. We need an 8895 in this tab not useless qualcomm chips.

I have a EU LTE Tab S3. It's connected to Wi-Fi continually when I'm home. I lose 2-3% when the tablet's sleeping overnight. I didn't know there was a Wi-Fi bug until I saw this thread. But I do have a Netgear R9000 which is a beast of a router. Is there any commonality to the Wi-Fi drain problem? I don't remember which Samsung phone it was but one had a big problem with D-Link routers specifically.

So it's now referred to as "*****ing" when people are noticing a very clear obvious issue with a device and would like to see it fixed. Amazing. Maybe for the S4 they can just not put speakers on it and we can all be considered "*****ing" because we should all just use headphones?
Anyway......completely ridiculous that there are constantly issues with these things. I TRY to switch away from iPad constantly and there is just not an Android tablet on the market that is in the same ballpark and at this point I doubt there ever will be. I've lost 8% of battery life today already and the thing has been on for like 2 and a half hours, and of that time I've probably spent like 5 minutes actually using it. The rest of the time it's just been sitting there, screen off. Pathetic. An iPad would still be at 100%, MAYBE 99%.

Please report the wifi issue here to pressure samsung for a fix :

Idle Battery Drain

So I was posting some info in another thread but I figured I would make my own thread for it. It seems like the power consumption at idle might be the cause for the "not as good as expected" battery life. For example my G3 will sit off the charger for 4 hours without being used and still be at 100%, the Turbo loses 6% in that time. The G3 has a 3000mAH Battery and I could easily get 24h of off the charger time on the G3. My question is what is killing the battery on the Turbo??? Its kinda hard to look over the battery stats when there is no root. Anyone have any input?
I think it's because of the wifi. I too have experienced crazy idle drain compared to my G2 and it's really making me regret getting this phone. It seems like they just slapped the kitkat ROM together and didn't really care to test it very well because Lollipop is coming out so soon.
It's definitely draining at idle more than usual or should be, I agree. I don't think it is WiFi related though, or at least not enough to be the main problem. I could be wrong of course. I have also not experience any WiFi or Bluetooth issues whatsoever and I use a Moto 360 all day, every day.
I am currently on my 4th charge cycle since acquiring the 64GB BN model. It's been powered on for 7h 32m and I'm sitting at 78% with 1hr 18m SoT. That's with heavy usage and taking quite a bit of pictures & video during this mornings product demo presentations at work.
Hardly anything for me personally to complain about. I'm sure they will optimize it. I'm almost certain than Android L 5.0 will make this phone a true beast.
Time will tell.
are you leaving gps or high accuracy location settings on?
I have the same issue as the OP. My G3 lost very little battery life when idling. I've attempted shutting down email accounts, turning off location and selectively removing apps in hopes of determining the cause of the drain...without success. This could be a deal breaker if we don't get some type of root exploit soon.
Well this sucks. I was going to get the Turbo but now I'm going to wait and see what happens with this drain issue. Maybe 5.0 will fix it.
I have been using the same settings that I did on my G3, Auto brightness, Location OFF and Auto Sync. Glad I'm not the only one noticing it too, I think its all in the build of Kit Kat they put on this phone, hopefully L comes out soon.

How about you start by posting screenshots of your battery stats from System...Battery
I don't have any issues whatsoever.
Well once I figure out how to do that I will post it, but in the mean time what phone were you coming from? A few people have agreed in this post that the battery life is worse @ idle then the G3 so its not just me.

Well G3 could be out of box, not trying to argue wanted to understand what your problem was. If you press the graph you'll see more details on what is using batteries (awake vs screen on, cell signal etc) and more in Android System if you go into that screen.
Overall what your getting .. 1-2% is not a big deal to me and beauty of the massive battery is you don't have to worry about but if really wanted to you could improve by turning off stuff you don't need or even automating it.
FWIW I'm coming from a GS3 with a tiny battery but even that phone lasted 5 days idling with the right setting for my use case (cell radio off / WiFi on). With Turbo just disabled some apps I didn't need and don't even think about it any more. I do have complaints about the Turbo but battery is definitely not one of them.
I'm interested in this as well. I bought my turbo yesterday evening and it had a pretty good charge (>80%) out of the box. I played with it for much of the evening and copied ~8gb of data to the phone via wifi. When I went to bed battery was at 60%, when I woke up it was 46%. I noticed that my third biggest battery use is command center, so I disabled auto-location in that app. I'm hoping to have better results on my first full charge.
Yeah I agree, but its literally the same settings I ran of my G3. I think I'm just gonna return it between the weak wifi and cell signal, and the camera it's just not worth it if the battery life isn't better then my G3
I've been posting in the other battery life thread... but to summarize, I'm going to be doing some thorough testing over the next 24/48 hours (currently ongoing).
I have already noticed significant improvements in my battery life. Has mentioned in the other thread. I'll be making a detailed post on Friday evening with my results.
I may also, from time to time post some of my progress, as I already have an understanding as to one of the issues involved with the so called "idle drain" everyone is referring to, and it is NOT WiFi.
Keep your eyes on that thread here.
Thanks, I'm pretty good with understanding wake locks, I just don't know where to start without root since most the stats in BB require it. I'm intrested to see what you come up with. I'm gonna wait till Saturday anyway to see if I still want to trade this in for the nexus.

Well you are limited with what you can do but I already gave you a start in my post, maybe you missed it. The only insight you will have without root (for tools like Better Battery Stats) is looking into all the info you can get out of Settings..Battery. There you can see wake locks vs screen on time and other stats like cell signal / wifi status etc. Then you can also dive into your biggest usage, for you it looks like it is Android System. They will list system services that are classified here. For example, you'll see the moto features are part of this. If you don't want to dig you can wait for Andromjb's updates
Overall I wouldn't base your decision to return the Turbo based on the battery -- base it on your other problems it sounds like you're having with wifi signal etc. That sounds like reason enough for a return. If you're ok with the larger size of the Nexus 6 then to me it's a no brainer to go with that instead of Droid Turbo since they are almost identical in terms of hardware.
For those that are getting battery drain, did you disable all of the verizon apps? There are some 20+ apps that are constantly running in the background and will drain your battery(even after i did a factory reset, these apps were sending data despite me never having opened them). Disable those, restart, then see if things change over the next cycle. I got 2d9hr31m and 4hr23 min of SOT(minimal usage) and was at 13%; this was on the first charge.
Could this drain be due to some of the sensors used for notifications. Doesn't the turbo have the feature where you stick your hand over it and it shows the notifications? If this is the case, wouldn't those sensors have to stay on?
Yeah I have 27 apps disabled and it really didn't make a difference for me like it has in the past, their must be something killing the battery on this 30m of screen time and I'm at 79% shouldn't be happening.

Thats actually really interesting. I haven't been experiencing anything like that. Perhaps try doing a factory reset then disabling them again. That's the only thing I did differently. Perhaps it's just a bad device? I'm already at 2hrs screen time, heavy downloading(off line apps), and have been on battery for 1d8hr- still at 45%. Is there anything in the battery stats? Wake locks perhaps?

Happy but Disappointed :(

I ordered the ZF2 from NewEgg when it released in the US.
I now had it for 4 days and generally feel good about the upgrade from a Nexus 5, but there are some things that really bother me with this phone:
1. Heat. This phone seems to heat up pretty bad when charging and doing something on the phone. When I just got it and was doing updates connected to power it actually gave out an error saying it overheated and needs to shut down.
2. Capacitive buttons are laggy. It takes about a second to register the press of the home button along with back and recent buttons. The Nexus 5 onscreen buttons so much faster.
3. The Zen Keyboard is laggy. Had to download and install the stock google keyboard.
4. Benchmarks are weak. Highest I got was 45k on Antutu. I have seen others getting over 48k. Its a minor gripe as the general performance is really good.
5. The plastic ridge that surrounds the screen seems to be very weak. It already has dings in it. Very sad about this.
6. Camera is not compatible with Hypwrlapse or ManualCamera app. I hope that those apps get updated and start supporting ZF2.
7. I don't know what's going on with this battery. Maybe its the apps that I have. But it feels weak. Woke up today at 8am. Its 5:30 now. I'm at 38% with 2 hours and 30 minutes screen on time.

1. Mine barely gets warm, and I have yet to see it get as warm as my G2 yet. It gets warm during charge but every device heats up during that process. Temps jump between 3x-4x℃.
2. I'm not having this issue, so not sure what the cause is.
3. The keyboard is smooth like the LG keyboard, and seems just as responsive as my N9 was.
4. I have the 2GB, so 42K seems to be the ceiling in antutu.
5. I've had mine for roughly a week and there aren't any signs of use on it, such as dings.
7. With my 2GB variant I reach ~2.5-3hrs for SOT at roughly 65-50%. I charge the battery to 85/80% and end up with 4-5hrs for SOT consistently. For me Android OS is really hurting battery performance.
"I'd Totally Hug You, If That Was Something I Did"
Something is seriously wrong with the battery of Zenfone 2, 550 ml. It automatically comes down to around 30% in 8-10 hours, even without any active use at all!
i was one who got early units of 550 ml...mines is performing very well......i dont have any issues too what so ever based on your reports above...standby time for 7 hours only reduce to 4 % batterry consumption for me....return your unit if its got warranty so you can sleep better
The battery and 5.0 are a problem. I've had wifi turned off for the past 3 days and the battery app is still reporting that wif is using 20-25% of the battery. The saving grace is standby which is outstanding. Left it off charge all night and it lost 8% in 11 hours. Once I start to use the phone the battery dies very quickly.

I have the ZF2 which I bought at initial launch from ASUS France. I can tell that I don't have all the issues you are reporting.
1. The phone does heat when charging or making lengthy calls but it doesn't bother me since while charging it's normal and I don't make as many long calls but this has not happened since the last FW update.
2. The buttons are working alright. I haven't noticed any lags. If anything they are more sensitive for me. Takes a screenshot every now and then if I hold my recent app key for a fraction of a second.
3. I always used Google KB on all my android devices so again can't tell but initially I was using the ASUS KB and didn't face any major issues.
4. I haven't done any benchmarks so can't report on that yet.
5. No dings whatsoever. I am also using a case so I barely touch the device.
6. The device has to be supported by devs. I know that the beta Microsoft Hyperlapse does not support it right now but it should do once they add support for it.
7. Well battery has been a concern for most on this forum but with the last FW I am getting 5 hours of SOT with 4G enabled all day. That's not bad at all compared to 2.5 or ~3 hours when I first started using the phone so it has been optimized and if ASUS is serious about this device (I hope they are) then it should only get better.

Go to Wi-Fi Advanced Settings and turn off "scanning always available". That will fix the Wi-Fi consistently on even when turned 'off'.

Battery Life

So I've had the Z3+ for a few weeks now and I have not been particularly impressed with the battery life. I was just curious to know what kind of longevity others are getting. I seem to average 4 hours sot with medium to light use. I am on .24 firmware and had two OTA updates as soon as I turned on the phone after opening the box. What are you guys seeing in terms of battery?
Edit: Should mention this is with intermittent wifi and data turned off. No apparent wakelocks either
. 4+ SOT seems to be around where I'm getting... some music or YouTube on work commute about 2+ hrs.. No games.. Mostly browsing...
Today so far..

Good to know, thanks. My gsam stat screen looks nearly identical to that. Perhaps the 5.1.1 update will bring some improvments
Hey,
I noticed this as well, on .24. However, my phone almost cooked itself, so was a little more worried about that. After doing a 'phone repair' in PC Companion (Bridge for Mac), the temperature dropper a LOT, and as an added bonus, the battery life seems a lot more stable. Recommend doing a clean install of .24, not OTAs.
Returned my z3+ because of the battery life. For a phone that large and heavy the battery sucks. My new z3c has almost double the screen time.
Yeah i get around 4hrs of screen time normal usage, music/games/web browsing/wifi etc.

I'm jut curious if all of you guys having bad battery life results had any power save features turned on or if you were using any apps to turn off cpu cores.

I'm not using any power saving features or turning off cores. I didn't notice much of a difference between stamina mode or normal TBH. I take it you've been observing better results/ on-screen times?

Holy **** this.
I was using no pwoersaving features and would end the day at 10-20% with moderate use.
Now with stamina mode turned on(whitelisting only commonly used apps), I end the day at 60% with moderate use.
Stamina mode is the greatest thing I have ever come across.
You guys that are getting really bad battery life should definitely look into using stamina mode more aggressively. I've white listed the apps I commonly use (which really aren't that many) while keeping brightness at a reasonable amount and I've gotten great battery life. 5 hours of SoT while on constant WiFi over here. I do use greenify whenever I remember, Nova launcher with app swipe gestures is awesome.
Sent from my Xperia Z3+ E6553
My battery was emptied in about 10hours, moderate use (Stamina mode, not ultra). On top of that, it went into a boot loop when there was about 10% left.. And there was nothing that could stop the loop except for plugging in the charger and wait about 30 minutes for it to stop the loop or wait and let the battery get emptied. So today I did a factory reset and a repair through Sony PC companion - and the top third of the screen stopped reacting to touch completely. Just sent it in for service/repairs.. Hope to get some good news soon. I'm really starting to regret ever buying this phone...

There is a thread about the boot loop. I think they also found a fix for it.

Ok, so it seems that using power saving mode or stamina mode or whatever it's called does make a difference on battery life. On my Galaxy s5, although it has a Snapdragon 801, it is still a quadcore SoC, and turning off two of the cores makes a huge difference on the battery life.
So my point is if you would to turn off the A57 cores completely off I wonder how much battery would increase. Or even if you do not mind a bit of lag, 'cause I don't, maybe even go a step further and turn off one or two of the A53. I found an app on the playstore that allows me to turn off cores on my 801. I would like for someone to give it a shot and see if it makes a difference. It did not work on the Galaxy S6 and that's why I am still looking for a new phone.
Having a non-removable battery is definitely a deal breaker for me. But if the phone has the ability to go at least a good 16 hours without a charge, then that wouldn't be such a bad deal. That means if you unplug at 0500 you could still go all the way to 2100 before you would be forced to plug in. Just throwing my two cents out there for you guys. I wished someone would comeout with a phone as good as the Z3+ with the features of the Samsung S5. 5 to 5.3 in screen, water resistant, removable battery, micro sd card and a screen that's comparable to a Super AMOLED. LG G4's screen is very good but with a locked bootloader it kills the ohone for me.
Alright, sorry for the rant. Let me know if someone wants to try out the app I was talking about. And by the way, im not the developer of the app. Im just an user.

With Stamina mode it breaks 16 easy.
I am currently at 41% battery, and my phone has been on for 24 hours. This is with light-moderate use.
I have yet to drain this phone to 0 yet, so I will see how long it can go.
I have the low battery stuff kicking in at 20%, so it should go even longer.
It didn't seem like extended stamina mode that lowered performance made any difference for me.

I forgot to drain to 0 on first use. Is that still recommended/required with the new devices? Is it too late to do it after a few charges? (one week old here)

OxygenOS 3.0.0 Excessive Battery Drain from Android System

My battery life is almost the same as it was back on CM13. My phone is rooted and running xposed V81. I clean flashed 3.0.0 using the modified TWRP. I'm only getting around 2 1/2 hours of SOT and ~10 hours total usage.

Hi,
I have been facing similar issues, I have been using my OP2 for the last 2 months and has continuously got an avg. Of 3.5 hours SOT even when I am connected to WiFi throughout the day.
I rooted my phone and greenfied FB, Messenger and few other apps, used POWER Nap, yet I can't get more than 3.5 hours at all.
This is the link to BBS logs for 27th Mar and 6th April

In my experience stuff like Greenify and Power Nap do more harm than good. For Facebook i would use Facebook Lite or the mobile website.
To your logs: i don't know what app you were using exactly but in both logs you have your CPU at highest frequenzy for over an hour. If you are using an App which needs the CPU to run on its highest speed it sure is using a lot of Battery. I don't see anything abnormal in your logs. Maybe head over to the BBS discussion thread and show your logs there.

The best battery life I got so far is to run on STOCK. 4.5-5 SOT on LTE only (surely longer if on WiFi)
with CM13, I get about 3.5-4h SOT (standby drain very fast).
With xposed, amplify, greenify, power nap, various kernels (AK, boeffla) all didn't significantly improve anything at all. The placebo effect is really strong.
Same here. OSS 2.2.1 was way better. I installed new hydrogen os MM and I have best battery than OSS 2.2.1, for now, I have to do more test but it's looking amazing.

OOS 3 has been the best for me in terms of battery. With moderate usage and sync on I frequently get over 5 hours sot over 3 days of use vs 1.5 days on 2.2.1. Doze is fantastic and I barely lose 2% a night.

Can you explain your point about the wifi issue?
I'm running a clean install of 3.0.0 and it's LOVELY, but my battery is terrible.
Would be interested in ways to improve if I could understand the wifi problem.
Please, while complaining about f**ked up battery life, do something that benefits us all.
Post screenshots of your battery usage chart from android settings and post logs from apps such as BetterBatteryStats.
I did try, however i'm "new" to the forum (posting) and therefore could not attach or add links .
Essentially though Android OS is showing:
CPU Total: 1h 15m
Keep awake: 57m
It's also 15% of my total battery usage.

Don't you have idle drain because of network dropping? Since marshmallow, I've had that issue that once the device goes off to sleep, the network bar in the battery is either yellow, or orange. And it isn't that I don;t have good reception, I never had this issue before upgrading to OOS 3, otherwise the OS is really good.

From what I've found, each time I turn off wifi my wakelock increase by 2 minutes under android system/oxygen, more specifically "connectivity service"
I believe it's just the system trying to find a data source after wifi is turned off. (my data is off)
So given this, its best to leave wifi on unless you're gonna be in a place with no wifi all day, turning it on and off will cause wakelocks

I notice this as well, reception is sometimes green and mostly orange/yellow vs solid green on 2.2.1 but it hasn't seemed to affect my idle drain. In fact it has actually decreased from 2.2.1 where I would get a drain of at least 5% every 7 hour sleep period even with airplane mode and power saver enabled. Now on 3.0, drain is more like 2% with wifi over the same period.
Additionally, someone stated that the orange/yellow reception phenomenon was marshmallow actively trying to conserve radio power when its not needed. I don't know how accurate this is but it might be true

Weird, on OOS 2.2.0 I used to get hardly 3-4 % drain in around 7-8 hours, on OOS 2.2.1 it became more 5-7% and on OOS 3.0 I get 8-9%.. Very weird... Isn't OS update supposed to make things better? Also I did do a clean flash of this particular rom and I am all stock, havent rooted the device yet.

Having no internet connection, but i'm on wi-fi. This doesn't come from the network i'm using because it happens even when i'm connected to a different one.
My battery life is really ****ty... Plus when i'm around 30%, my phone shuts down and when i turn it back on again, i'm like at 1%.
I'm not root.
I really don't know what to do. Is there any information i can give you that will give you tips on things i'm maybe doing wrong causing my phone to have weird behavior ?
The thing i want to know is if flashing a new rom was a good idea, and maybe if you have advices to give me on roms.. I'd like to be as up to date as possible, and a light rom. Doesn't care about touchwiz feature. I just want my phone to be reactive, fast, and working normally.
Thanks for your answers.
Change your battery. Some posters claim to have lag when their battery are nearly dying as well.

Do you update regularly (Apps & OTA update)?
Try to turn off WiFi & then turn it on again.
As for battery....it's degraded to only 70% of its full capacity.
Usually when it reaches around 40% your phone will stutter + lagging heavily, so make sure to charge at around 50% if you are still considering to use that "broken" battery.
My Advice is to buy a new OEM battery or any good 3rd party battery.
It is a little similar with my 2014 Note 10.1. It also shuts down on its own at right arount 33%. But only sometimes. And yes, it also stutters. I can not vouch for other branded devices. But, I have heard similar stories from friends on their Samsung devices. Definitely get a new battery. Like another post staited. OEM is a great choice. Or, at least a very reputable 3rd party. I purchased a battery for my Note 10. And even though it was new, it was not the same. I found that the circuitry in the cheap aftermarket battery was sub par. The seller sent me a free replacement battery. And it also had issues. So, make sure you get a reputable battery.

Batteries aren't linear though. Its voltage drops off in a curve. (e.g. 4.2v = 100%, 4.1v = 90% and 3.7v = 20%)
Same problem on my 10 months old Note 4 N910C. And it was started about 2-3 months ago, so the battery lasted about 6 months!? Also, there's a burned-in damage on my screen (notification bar)! Yes, warranty is still valid, but anyway... NEVER AGAIN Samsung phone!

Hm... You right about signal. I never looked at this, because whenever I use the phone (at home) and I'm always on 4G internet (unlimited plan), signal meter is on 1-2 bars.I don't know why is signal so bad, when phone is off. Power saving is always ON. About wake locks... I believe that they are from my smart watch (bluetooth),but Bluetooth version on Note4 should be low-power (connection is lost when I'm 4 meters away (in my department)), so... This days I can't reach 2h of SOT (4h-5h when it was new).

Interesting. I'm curious about the power saving if that actually reduces your signal by keeping it in a lower power state. I have never used power saving mode and my rom doesn't recommend it. I wonder if running in normal mode would effect it.
Might look at what apps are using the bulk of your battery as well to see if something rogue is running.

Before Note my phone was Sony Xperia Z and power saving on that phone did a great job. That's why I still use this feature. I also put many apps into the "optimizing mode"... There's no any special app which uses battery. There was Facebook, but I uninstall it.Battery monitoring apps are useless for me because phone is not rooted (still under warranty). Maybe I should try hard reset.

I know it's old thread, but anyway... Last week I finally take my phone to the service, because it's still under warranty. They changed the screen because it was burned-in, they changed the battery (sudden power-offs) and strangely - they changed some faulty system connector. Phone worked and charge befor the repair. I always use only original charger, so how can be some system connector burned??? They changed it for free under warranty, so I assume that it must be some factory fault. I know few people with the same "sudden power-off" problem on different Samsung phones, so...
