If you need to RE-FLASH the 6.0 firmware, you MUST rename 5009_20.zip to 5009_60.zip , otherwise the firmware will throw an error! yay! I just tested it and it WORKS!

It works tomtom go?

Again no detailed change log. Incredible.

I'd keep away until a few people have tried this.....

Beta release? Don't think I'd risk this on the head unit and end up without a working unit until they actually fix it.... "Fix some bugs" seems to be the extent of most of their change logs... hehe

someone guinea pig it

Looking forward to someone having the balls to flash this.
As a side note...why is everyone so excited about Android 6 on this unit...I don't see any features that would even make me update.

Install went very quick, it wipes all applications and data.
I have not yet been able to access via wifi / ADB, so no rooting or mods as of now

USB debugging was enabled.
It looks like they missed persist.adb.tcp.port=5555 in the properties. It can be enabled by the following:
1) download a terminal program ( Terminal Emulator for Android )
2) enter the following command: setprop persist.adb.tcp.port 5555
3) reboot
I just, installed supersu and seems to be working

doitright4 said:
That's a great point, and it is really... sad? stupid? FREAKING RETARDED!!!! that they would bother wasting time to build 6.0 so long after 7.0 (and 7.1 even!!!) are already available.
7.x of course, adds in split screen mode, which would be a GREAT benefit to car radios.
There is one thing, however, that could make the 6.0 build good, especially an early or beta build... they've had less time to destroy it than they've had to destroy 5.x. So its probably a faster, more stable, and more respectful build than what we've previously seen.

Yeah split screen might be useful...otherwise it just runs navigation/music/videos in cars mostly...which any version of Android can do.

Are there any noticeable changes so far?

So how's the update?
Is it faster/slower than android 5?
Did you find some bugs?

@gustden mind checking if the apps are still the same as in 5.1.1? Especially around the server app if the kill switch is still present

All the apps are still the same. Not seeing much difference, other than in the settings. So far, it seems fast and stable.
Sofia-1-C9-Server-V1.0.apk looks the same ( and still kills everything on standby). Hope to have time to remove the app killer and add the other mods over the weekend.

And the most important question, any changes regarding the Bluetooth module? Does it still cover the screen during calls without the ability to minimize?

[GT-N5100]4.4.2 Kitkat Changes and Bugs!

Hello everyone! Today I will give you the changes of Android 4.4.2 Kitkat on the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 GT-N5100
So first of all, after flashing the update or updating via OTA you notice White Status Bar Icons and the UI is a bit darker.
The Multi Window lines are smoother and instead of having an arrow on the screen, you just swipe your finger from the right.
Toast messages also were changed. The "Recent Apps"(Long Press Home Button) Words are now bigger. There is also a new thing in "About Device" its called "SE for Android Status" and by default its "Enforcing".
The icons of some system apps also changed. The icons in the Settings also changed.
Instead of a Binary Counter which can be reset, we now have a Knox Counter which cannot.
Our Task Manager also changed, and UI Improvements. Driving Mode turned into "Hands-Free Mode".
There are also Battery Life Imrpovements, Performance Improvements and GPS turned into Location.
You can also record your screen without an app or root! Just use a PC via USB Cable. (No instructions sorry, this is just a changelog sort of thing.)
Accessibility issue fixed.
A few keyboard improvements, new S Note,a few bug fixes and when turn off and on your phone, theres a new effect!
When using a screen recorder you will get Internal Audio Recording.
New Setting! Its called "Default Applications" Below "Applications"
We also have new apps! (Music Hub,Video Hub, etc.)
BUGS:
-Reading Mode in Auto Brightness is dark.
-While updating to 4.4.2 all the apps in External SD are going to Force Close
-Sometimes while charging instead of the real percent of how much battery you have, it turns it into 100% (e.g. you have 82% and then suddenly its 100%)
-On some apps the new KitKat toast message is reverted back to the old Jellybean Toast Message.
a_sh_ said:
Another bug - OS crashes and force reboots when you press alt+tab on external bluetooth keyboard (seems like they have removed alternative "recents" panel). Also the layouts for external kbs are wrong - numbers row, for example, in Russian actually follows English standards (so you cannot get " of : symbols for example).
Had to switch to cm11 with less efficient and stable multiwindow solutions (xfloatingwindow + multiwindowsidebar)

What is SE for Android?
SE for Android is really a form of SELinux which enables administrators to control what other users can and cannot do with their account. History of SELinux, it was originally used by the Department of Defense to manage which users could access certain parts of the system. We didn't want someone without the proper clearance to have access to the same systems that control our missile defense system.

I'm on Civz 4.4.2 rom and Reading Mode still working for me, but when using auto brightness it is definitely much darker than before with 4.2.2. So I just untick auto brightness and adjust manually when using reading mode now. When I'm done I turn auto-brightness back on and turn off reading mode. Hope this helps.
4.2.2 auto brightness was to dark for my taste, I haven't looked yet but did the magazine ui make?

There are now two binary counters, one for how many times the device has been flashed using Odin which can be reset using Triangle Away and Knox to indicate the device has been flashed at least once with unofficial firmware. Knox cannot be reset even if you flash the original firmware.

Do we really need SELinux for Android? In my opinion no, but for example Android is being used for educational purposes currently because it is much cheaper than buying hundreds of desktop computers that run Windows. In this situation you would need SELinux to manage what a student does or does not have access to. There are now apps for teachers and administrators to change these permissions on the fly and to launch a program on all devices at once.

Is there anything worth to upgrade to KK?
As far as I read, there are some new problems and limitation(for example SD operations), and nothing new (except UI which is doesn't matter for me).
Are there real new features?

It looks like nothing usefull for me.
I'm completely satisfied with "performance and battery" on 4.2.2.
On the other hand I'm using SD a lot.
I'll keep 4.2.2 because I don't see any advantage of 4.4.2

Any app out there that can fix it? (With root or without root)

There are many apps that can help the performance and battery life of this device with and without root. Obviously having root will allow certain apps to get down to the system level to make tweaks and changes to the way the system works and how it handles every day operations.
Some of my recommended apps that require root are...
SetCPU - The name says it all, it allows you to change to minimum and maximum clock speeds of the CPU. I leave the minimum at 200Mhz and the maximum at 1000Mhz which I could honestly get by with only 800Mhz since this has 4 cores.
Greenify - This app will allow you to "Greenify" any app that you do not need running in the background at all times. Similar to freezing an app but it can be launched at any time without defrosting. The app will hibernate again when you are not using it.
Xposed Framework - This will allow you to make changes/tweaks to your current setup without actually making any permanent changes. Modules can be enabled and disabled on the fly, simply toggle and reboot and the change is effective immediately. There are hundreds of modules for different things, some may do the same and more than others. Play with them, tweak to your liking. You can't mess anything up using Xposed.
Viper4Android - The best audio engine that I've ever used on any Android device. Want a simple equalizer this is the app for you, want a more complex audio engine this is also the app for you.
Titanium Backup - The number one backup/restore application on the market. Backup your apps and app data before flashing a new rom, restore after flashing. This allows you to save your current data while allowing you to perform a factory reset and doing a clean flash of the new rom to prevent any possible bugs due to old conflicting system data.
Triangle Away - Flash new firmware often? Want to clear your counter? This is a must have app from the great developer Chainfire and it is constantly updated when it needs to be updated.
Mobile Odin - Another must have app if you are flashing anything on your device when using a PC for Odin is just not an option. Flash kernels, recoveries, entire systems. Root the new system during the flashing process, wipe the cache, etc.
Root Explorer - Simply the best root file manager available for Android devices.
Busybox by stericson - If you're rooted you will need the latest busybox for your system.
I can name many more essential root applications but these are among my top must have apps for every rom I use.

New Ultra headed my way!

Should have it by the 17th. Really looking forward to it.
There looks to be a lot more info here on Remix in general ...looks good! ?
One thing is I am hoping for is a way to safely increase the ram. Seems I read that the Ultra is already rooted, so hopefully there is an easy way to do this!
OH... The Ultra is on sale at Amazon for $199 ...says it includes keyboard! Sweet!
?
It's not rooted. But its easy to flash a custom recovery and install the su binary.

If you can find the Cyanogen Mod recovery then you can download the supersu from the market. Boot into recovery and then apply the supersu as an update. Once done you cannot get OTA updates, but supersu lets you unroot and then you can repeate the process of replacing the recovery and rooting. Very easy to do and much easier than using other root tools out there.
Got it early. Ordered Friday... delivered Monday.
Already updated to 2.0, which changed the settings app. Then the mouse stopped working on the keyboard, so I may be looking to reset the tab and start over... not that big of a deal.
Unless someone chimes in here with an idea to get the trackpad working again.
Neat tab. Made a video I may post later.
Thanks for any helpful input.
Reset the tablet, all is well for the trackpad.
So this is supposed to be a multi-tasker, but for the life of me I cannot find the feature that was on version 1.5 ....the ability to have phone sized windows.
Where did that feature go? Anyone know?
Thanks.

Thank you. I found it and it is un-checked.
I have since found a few apps, like calculator and another I installed ...Ccleaner, do open in smaller or larger windows, and can be moved about on the screen.
Still none of my larger apps, that I use for business ...like Polaris, seem to have any options to change.
I am thinking I am going to have to carefully check my apps and look for those which may work and fit with the Remix multi windows setup. So far there are not many.
Not quite what I expected, but I will keep working with it.
Thanks again!
I mentioned this in another post here. It applies to version 2.0.
The way to determine if the app being used can be brought down to a phone sized/smaller window is to swipe down with your finger from the top. To the right will be the option to expand or contract the app. Works on some apps, not on others, but at least now I know where the option is.
Hope this helps.
App Freezing
Anyone having problems with apps freezing, mouse still working, but cant scroll or select on apps.
Giving me trouble in facebook messenger and google drive
oh yeah. i have to hard-reboot mine at least once a day. video is usually the culprit, specifically youtube.
support didn't have any advice so i've just gotten used to it.
Its an ongoing problem. Video is the first notification of it you'll notice, but I've seen it in games too, specifically Alto's Adventure and The Room 3.
According to the errors I've captured with logcat its an issue caused by the nvidia drivers.
yes, i have noticed that in logcat too. is it that NVIDIA is not meant to work with android? surely there are other android devices on their chips... it is so frustrating.

Lemfo Smartwatch Development

Does anyone have experience customizing the Lemfo smartwatches running Android 5.1? I am getting an LEM4 and wanted to know if its possible to gain access to the ROOT OS??? I'd like to know also. On eBay they go by DM98. Ive seen a few YouTube videos now and my biggest gripe is that it doesn't look like it responds well or quickly. Skype looks like a terrible frame rate. But I want it! But I want it to be good. Lol. Maybe I can solder in another 1gd of RAM?

I accidentally ordered the Android 4.4 one, what i really wanted was Android 5.1.
Had no problem rooting the 4.4.
I really like this watch, specially battery life but the way the storage is partitioned makes it difficult to really get the most out of it.
As is explained in another thread, you only have about 601mb of space for installing apps (and most of that space is already filled with stockapps) and about 2gb of space for storing your files like music, video and photo's etc...
If i could find a way to re-partition the storage space it would really be a winner for me.
Got mine a few days ago. I like it. I seems to have gotten the 4.4 one too.
A few questions:
1) How do I connect it to a computer? Where is the usb port?
2) Can I have a sim and micro SD card or are they the same?
3) Have we figured out how to put on custom watch faces?
4) Would you mind posting a link to putting custom firmware like Android Wear?
Thanks all!
@froggerman: did / could you upgrade to 5.1 (is a 5.1 rom available somewhere) after rooting? Did you swap the apps to storage with eg titanium backup (sorry, old)?

Hi
could you elaborate how to make own watch themes.

I'm very pleased with my DM98 (~LEM4, with android 4.4), imho it points to the future of wrist computers (= not 'watch' but wrist computer), so this forum should become interesting. A few quirks with which I could use some very appreciated help:
1. No navigation bar, I use 'Notification bar opener' and 'Head-up notification' to circumvent this, but there must be another / better way(?). A setting I'm overlooking?
2. No 24hour style clock setting option / checkbox in 'Date & time' setting, also not findable via 'Settings Search' app (thanks Smartwatch Ticks). Cannot find an app solution for this.
3. Rooted with kingroot (thanks Froggerman), but have some difficulties using Titanium Backup to move apps to storage, or back. Backup itself went smoothly once the backup-path was set. Anybody better option for apps to SD (there are too much apps with this name!).
4. Only one button, so no easy recovery booting (I think), no idea if Nandroid or some such can safely (re)flash a TWRP of CMW partition. Anybody braver than me?
Stats from Titanium Backup:
- 154MB of 825MB system ROM free.
- 713MB of 1.36GB free in internal memory with ~300MB apps installed (so no worries there) and
- 1.14GB free in 'Media' (=storage or SD or..).

I have not upgraded to 5.1 yet. There seems to be no firmware/rom available for the LEM4. Rooting it was the easy part. Trying to repartition it is turning out to be difficult. First of all there is no way to get into recovery mode using only the on/off button. I tried ROM Manager with my Lemfo LEM4 to force it into recovery mode. It does work and it seems that the LEM4 did go to the Recovery startup screen but not all of the information is beeing shown. It's like the screen zooms in (or the resolution of the screen is not big enough to show everything). Normally i should see a screen with a "dead" android logo and on top of the screen a choice menu but on the LEM4 only the middle part with the android logo is shown. So you can't see the choice menu. And even if you did, there are no up and down buttons (volume buttons) to make a selection and then enter that selection... I also would like to go into the recovery mode but can't seem to find a way with the zoomed in screen and the lack of selection buttons...
When you force it to recovery mode with ROM Manager you get totally stuck and have to let the battery drain out to get the LEM4 watch up and running again.

I wanted the LEM4 to be more smartphone then smartwatch. I also don't like the watchfaces that comes with it and find them not very usefull. I made the LEM4 smartwatch much more productive by installing the following apps:
APEX Launcher (i find this one even better then nova launcer. You lose the watchfaces but are able to put time and date on the homescreen by using widgets. And when you swipe down from the top, you get your typpical notification shown).
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.anddoes.launcher
Virtual softkeys (This one is great, get back/home/running app button on your screen). You can even make the softkeys disappear when you don't need them.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=tw.com.daxia.virtualsoftkeys
Power Toggles (Toggle your bluetooth/wifi/data and lots more right on your homescreen(widget) or notification screen)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.painless.pc
Simple Digital Clock Widget (just a widget to set a clock on the homescreen, but i like it)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=milk.digital.clock
Headsup notification (you want notifications on your screen popping up like on smartphones and tablets? then this app is for you. I have not found an app yet that creates a notification bar, but this one is close)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...tifications&rdid=codes.simen.l50notifications
Screen On Off Lock (you can turn off the screen by using app, it takes off the pressure of your on/off hardbutton)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.katecca.screenofflock
Get access to all the android settings

These stats are differant then my LEMFO LEM4. I only have 600Mb free in internal memory, and that space is fulled up easily with stock apps and updates. There is about 2gb free in media. Seems that yours is differantly partitioned
Thanks for the info. I'll stick to Nova but agree on most of your choices and used most of them already, but not virtual softkeys, going to try that. I use 'Neon Clock' on homescreen (has a few issues but I like it).
More applications do not well-behave on the tiny screen (320x240, same as very first PDA: XDA(!) from O2), like Pujie black watch (only wear watchface designer with homescreen widget option). Apparently not all programmers check on pixel-dimensions at startup. Also -like in titanium backup- some pop-ups and message boxes do not let you scroll down to the OK or Cancel buttons, so you can only backup.
I guess nobody saw a return to smaller pixel-size coming, and this 'watch' will hopefully get more pixels and less thickness in the future.

The "solution" to the small screen resolution and trying to get past certain startup screen is the following :
Install on your LEM4 Ultimate rotation control. And force it to portrait mode.
https://play.google.com/store/search?q=ultimate rotation control&c=apps
Then install Resolution changer and with the forced portrait mode you get passed the startupscreen of resolution changer.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.zuim.resolutionchanger&hl=nl
In resolution changer , change only the DPI (let the screen resolution stay at maximum 320x240). and lower the DPI number. This wil zoom out the screen and will let you pass all of the apps startup screens you come across. The only problem i had with this app is that when the keyboard pops up, it isn't properly zoomed out. But be carefull with this app, if you accidently zoom in, you can get into trouble.
This is how i UNROOTED my LEM4 (i sold my LEM4 in original condition and i ordered the android 5.1 version). If you don't use resolution changer, you are unable to uninstall rootking (and unrooting it)

Hi,
Where did you find the 5.1 version? Any obvious differences or advantages besides the newer OS?
I got around the DPI issues with Xposed and App Settings module. I used KingoRoot when I first rooted the watch, but i have since factory reset and used RootKing this time around. The only thing that worries me is how much space it uses. I looked in settings and it using 99mb of storage space! I have no idea why it's using that much besides those extra built in Purify apps which do not show in the uninstaller so I cant remove them. Compared to the 10 or so watches I already have, I really like this watch so I'm trying to make it work in spite of its shortcomings. The battery life alone makes up for it.
I'm using Nova launcher right now. I'm going to give smart launcher a shot and report back. If you don't want to use any 3rd party launchers you can use the stock launcher then install SwipeStatusBar to get your notification pull down. Still haven't figured out how get a static statusbar though. I also installed PIE controls in the GravityBox Xposed module so I can swipe in from the corner of the screen to get my PIE controls like a menu, recent apps, and home button.

The LEM4 is also known as the DM98. But the DM98 comes in two versions. Android 4.4 and Android 5.1. You can find a list of them here :
https://www.aliexpress.com/wholesal...AS_20161221092427&SearchText=dm98+android+5.1
There are different brands selling these. I ordered the TTLIFE one.
It seems that not a whole lot is different between the two android versions. I guess that the FunOS launcher stayed the same. But i hope that it gives me even more better battery life. In the comments section of the LEM4 review on the Smartwatch Ticks youtube channel there was someone who had the android 5.1 version and from what i can tell there could be a chance that the app space on the DM98 (Android 5.1 version) is bigger then the LEM4. But I will only be sure when i recieve it (probably within two weeks or so).
The static status bar is also something i couldn't find. I tried a dozen apps but they didn't work.
The PIE control app looks a bit like omni swipe... I hope to get my DM98 soon.
Did you know: tapping repeatedly on 'Build Number' under 'About Watch' is settings will open up 'DEVELOPER OPTIONS'?

Did u you ever get the DM98 Android 5.1 version?
How is the storage partitioned? Do you notice any other improvements over the 4.4 version?

Hi,
Did u ever receive your DM98?
I got my TTLIFE 2016 DM98 which I ordered on the 1st of December. According to CPU-Z this is running Android 4.4 so I'm not sure about the 5.1 version that everyone is expecting. The partitioning seems better as I have around 700 MB for applications even though I have installed some already.

prevent colorOS from ending apps in the background

I finally found a system to prevent colorOS from ending apps in the background and not allowing synchronization.
you must be root.
these are the steps to take do not prevent the regular operation of the operating system.
A backup from twrp is recommended to avoid data loss or bootloop.
there are three offending applications and they are all system applications:
-com.coloros.athena
-com.coloros.safecenter
-com.coloros.oppoguardelf
packages must be frozen.
I decided to freeze these applications using TITANIUM BACKUP, and it worked.
finally the operating system is more fluid and has reported the following benefits:
- longer battery life with the screen on (since the system is not always busy terminating running apps)
- apps receive instant and scheduled notifications
- the temperature of the phone is always cold, the CPU works at lower speeds)
I finally master the resources of my phone.
the downsides of this mod are:
- inability to use the phone's battery settings, but this will not affect your use.
this is my experience and it works
I hope you can also contribute with feedback
I'll keep you up-to-date
Can't you just take usb debugging, go to adb and disable the apps? Does it need root?
Root permissions are required!
Hey,
Just to let you know. I did the same via adb shell and it works.
Battery section isn't accessible as you've put forth and the apps finally get their messages and notifications without getting closed.
Root is not mandatory.
if you can tell us the procedure so we can help Some other user who doesn't have root permissions
Thanks, your tip finally fixed my issues!!!
So you don't plan to upgrade to realme UI?

Thanks again!!
The only annoyance left now is that developer options are not persistent so that I'm unable to permanently turn off transition animations.
I am looking for a guide to be able to update the device with the latest firmware version
I would like to bring the device to its original state and then update with the recovery realme.
Basically I have a problem with spontaneous reboots, and I would like to understand if it is a hardware problem OR it is a software problem.

Enable developer option, switch on USB debugging.
Hook it up via USB, ensure device shows up and type away.
adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.coloros.athena
Replace the apk for the other two and you've done the same that titanium backup does via root.
I've done this on c23, android 10
I did the same using adb
But i am facing a problem now.
Now apps are hanging a lot like it take 10 seconds after pressing back button in WhatsApp and my phone settings, so is there a way to undo my actions or solve this problem.
This is quite irritating, i really want to solve it. Can anyone give me some suggestions?
Thanks to anyone who helps.

Worked for me using adb. Phone feels much faster and stand by drain is 1% per hour. But screen on time is reduced to 6 hours, from about 8 or 9. However with fast charging I think I prefer a faster phone with no app shutdowns to longer sot.

Yeah I mean you're worrying over something really trivial. Just enjoy the phone man. It's getting better with each update, why are you concerned over such silly things
Btw you linked the India website, I don't know if it's the same as the EU variant, but just a heads up to download the correct update for your device to avoid problems.
Seems like my battery has improved a lot after the update so thumbs up for that

Ah ok in that case, but I'd just rather flash the appropriate file for consistency.
Also, another thing that's not mentioned in the changelog, there's finally an option to tune the vibration intensity, even though there's only 3 levels.

So if you have no problem you buy equipment where you lack the functions that are indicated in a technical sheet of the device so many places for you! But this is not the case with all World. I may still be right to say that the technical sheet is incomplete because realme has been promoting it for its gamer side, but when your ni looks closer it is missing a lot Like double wifi, the game space application is not the same for everyone and it's still incredible! What is the problem? Yes I am one of those who also bought it for its gamer side, so I also have the right to be unhappy not to find the promise made of all these options missing in my version!

No I totally get you, I hate it when companies don't keep their promises and don't live up to the expectations, and I may be biased since I don't see the neccessity of those functions. But it seems you're stressing yourself too hard over nothing and want this just for the sake of having it and not because it's useful.
4d vibration sounds good on paper but I doubt it's that good. Also you would probably not see a real benefit from dual wifi, unless the network you're connecting to is REALLY slow. I'm not 100% sure, but that's my interpretation.
We should totally push companies to do better and to not screw us, agreed, but it's kinda pointless writing that over and over again here on xda. Did you contact them via mail?

can anyone confirm if i am missing any steps ?

yes by email and on their social network but they must always answer me! maia to answer you even if you see no interest in it that does not mean that it is valid for all the people who have bought the realme x2 pro. but he thinks he has partly found the answer to my question .. by dint of trying several version of the 'Game Space' application, it is written in a notification that to activate these options they must connect to their realme account! which only exists on the Chinese or Indian version! Which is totally inconsistent. And as we can see on Youtube the Chinese or Indian version has 3 times more options than us on the "Games Space" application so yes I expect to have the same Thing, I paid dearly for this phone and I therefore think I am entitled to the same options as the others !!!

Can we actually force 90Hz in every app on this version?

The magisk module works for me. Worked ever since I was first rooted I think at c25, up until now at c31. Some apps are not complying, but that's just because they are programmed that way.

Well, those apps that aren't "progammed that way" works just fine in 90Hz on LineageOS, pretty sure that's just the module not really working for whatever reason.

That's not true, try 9GAG and tell me it doesn't switch back and forth?
Also Poweramp works at 90Hz everywhere but in library view, that's what I found out. Everything else works fine. Google Photos app was 60Hz, but after flashing the module it's 90Hz.
i flashed the rom through twrp (was using los before) but not able to use payment apps. it shows "system integrity compromised". can somebody tell me what i did wrong?
