Notification Icon is now Uniformed? - ZTE Axon 7 Questions & Answers

Hello All,
I don't know what happened and I did not intentionally change any settings (maybe on accident?) but today when I checked my phone I discovered that all my notifications from the top of my screen are now uniformed instead of displaying notification from mails, different apps etc. I'm wondering how I can get back to the default setting where each app has its own notification icon. Please see the attached picture for reference of what I'm talking about, thank you so much!

Hello All,
Thank you for the prompt help, for some reasons my display setting menu does not have the "only show quantity in status bar" option. My display has the following options
Font Size
Sleep
Brightness Level
Auto rotate screen
Battery percentage
Notification Ligh
Display pedometer
Screen effect
Cast screen
I downloaded the update but was unable to update it because I had install TWRP. After the installation failed because of TWRP I never did get around to install the update using the TWRP way. Wondering if that would play a role here. Please help, thank you guys so much, I greatly appreciate the assistance!!

on which model and Version are you? It should be under the battery percentage

I'm on Android 6.0.1 Build 0B29.
I figured it out. For anyone who has the same problem as I, the setting can be found by pulling the status bar menu all the way down and press on "edit"

Thanks nuridurdu27. I've been trying to figure this out for the last couple of hours. I must have turned this on unintentionally at some point and it was driving me crazy!

control panel in notification drawer.

hey guys, ive had my nexus for a while, but i switched over from an iphone and on the iphone there was a plug in called sb settings which allowed you to swipe your finger across the status bar and a small control panel would drop down giving you options to dim your screen, turn wifi and other toggles on and off, and gave you your system info all without having to leave the current app you were on. i was wondering if there is such a thing for android, where you have a control panel in the notification drawer.?
looked like this on iphone

A free app called 'Bar Control' will let you put shortcuts in the notification bar.
I use this with 'Switches', a paid toggling app, and a free app 'Wifi Status' (that warns you if you have wifi on but no connection to a network).

Quick Settings free on the market will also do this. Nice little program I use it every day.

+1, works great (although it could do with a UI uplift).

It would be good, I'm stock so not sure if LED torch works with root.
the led torch app for the N1 defenitely requires root

Browser problem

I was messing w/ my browser settings & I have absolutely no clue what I did...but now I can't get my notification bar to show anymore! It shows briefly when I'm loading a page, but it disappears as soon as the URL bar disappears. I scroll up & I can see the URL bar, but not the notification bar. How can I get this back? I reverted to default settings & that didn't help.

open browser > menu button > settings > scroll to the bottom > restore defaults
Right, like I mentioned in my post I've already reverted back to default settings & for some reason this didn't fix it.

Menu button while in browser>Settings>Full screen mode.
Checking this hides the status bar while in the browser, uncheck it to show the status bar.

Wow this is nuts. I don't seem to have that setting at all. Where in your settings menu do you see this? And yes I'm running the default browser.

That is where I find mine after going to settings.
Browser version 2.3.3
Here's what I see. Note you can see the notification bar here, but it disappears in the main browser window.
If you go to settings>Manage applications>all and click on browser what version does it say you have?
Version 2.2.1
So how do I get the latest browser version?

[Q] Status bar disappeared

Hello,
Yesterday, i cant exactly remember what i was doing, but my status bar is gone.
I checked settings -> rom control -> notification bar and nothing to do there.
It just gone.
How do i enable it back?
By the way, im runing PACman HD2 with Marc Kernel.
Thanks!
You need to tell us what disabled it, try to remember what you did.
Not to sound patronising here, but you have tried simply rebooting, right? I had a similar issue once when I was web browsing and suddenly the browser FCed and I couldn't get the status bar back. After a quick reboot, everything was back to normal.
Hold power to bring up the menu, tap "expanded desktop"

do you mean the Status Bar along the top, or the Notification Drawer which is the messages in the drop down screen?
check both of these.
using ADW launcher i can assign a swipe action (swipe up for me) to hide the status bar, maybe you have something similar?
I think change dpi in option may helps you fixing this issue
sorry for my english

Smaller Notifications in pull down Menu

Hello everybody,
Is there any possibility to make the notification text smaller or minimize the whole section?
Because I have some apps running which need background service and keeping them in notification area prevents them to get closed. Apps like fingersecurity or smart app lock.
But it's too big. It takes too much space.
I didn't find anything useful.
Greetings

A little suggestion.
In S5 settings/applications, uncheck notifications for apps that need permanent icons but keep them active in your standalone applications settings.
Icons and notifications will dissapear but your apps will be active
For example, in TSF shell that I use too, keep system persistent in its own settings, but uncheck notifications in phone settings/application.
(it works also for all in one gestures ).
Try and report, but must work (it does at least for me).
Sorry for poor english, hope you understand what I mean
Best regards
Franky
Absolutely know what you mean. got the same thought. But wanted to keep them in notification and make em smaller.
For now I will make it the way you suggested

Have a look to xposed modules if you're root, several ones allow to change notifications aspects, app settings to change DPI ratios (here on general settings, be aware, all will be change ) or maybe wanam xposed in notification panel options (not sure for the 2nd one, but try to change font format option).
Good luck
Franky
EDIT: OH, in wanam and notification panel options, you can also hide the keyboard icon as well
Hi all! Any update regarding this? I didnĀ“t find any Xposed module that can help with this issue and I have 4 apps that are taking lots of space in the notification area!
Thanks in advance,
WR

Help with 'Do Not Disturb' Mode

Okay. Maybe I'm crazy. Maybe my phone's just not honoring my settings. But my DND mode isn't working. I have it set on a schedule to kick in everyday around 10pm and disable at 7am. I have custom exceptions for favorite contacts, alarms on, repeat callers on, but events/reminders off. I don't have any apps set for priority notifications. But I still get sound notifications for just about everything. On top of that, I still get reminders from the apps I set it on for (messaging apps, mainly SMS). Am I doing something wrong?
Mine force closes every time I attempt to go into the settings. The only way I can get it to work is by manually turning it on and off via the quick settings bar. It does work because I received e-mails, texts etc. while it was turned on and it never made a peep. I googled it, and other people are having the issue also.

Maybe it's your font settings? No problems with mine and no problems having it block stuff when activated. I use it daily when sleeping because I work nights.

Nope went back to default theme and font still does it even after a reboot
I had the same problem and it miraculously started working again
I had the same problem. Started playing around with notification settings for individual apps tonight. I believe I have the settings right to avoid getting notifications when I don't want them. Here's a screen shot of one of the apps. You have to go into each app you DON'T want notifications for and set them as they are in the screen shot. Hope this helps.

UPDATE from previous post - it would appear that my advise above is garbage. I continued to get notifications even after I made changes to individual application notification settings. I'm stumped at this point. Samsung needs to address this.

And while they are at it, add the damn LED to the do not disturb mode!!! I don't want to have a bright green LED shining in my face overnight, much less a blinking one.
