Moto G5 Plus on freedompop - Moto G5 Plus Questions & Answers

Edit: meant the g5 plus.
Any using this on freedompop? Been thinking of buying it to replace my moto e

Yes it works. Your on the wrong forum. This for the G5.

Sorry the question was for the g5 plus, mistyped.
Any luck?

No problem. Yes I works. The G5 Plus XT1687 can pretty much grab all 5 major networks without an issue. So any MVNO uses any of the big 5 can use the network. Freedompop uses Sprint and AT&T networks I know so you should be great. Nothing yet for the 600 Mhz yet, as alot of that spectrum was just purchased. At the end of the year some networks will begin using it here in the US.

got it working on freedompop.

I just set up Moto 5g Plus with Freedompop and I couldn't activate (turn on) my tether hotspot option (it will run with a circular arrow looking for service) and then a message pops up to indicate it couldn't activate)... has anyone successfully activate Freedompop plan ($24.99) with 2G using tether?

Yes it works fine for me with metro pcs.

Nexus 6p Global and American Edition ?

Per site http://www.gsmarena.com/huawei_nexus_6p-7588.php. I was looking at the supported bands for the nexus 6p. It's said there is an American and Global verison. Is this true ? If so, is the google play store selling the american version? The american version is selling the one that has 1700 band. Which only t-mobile uses
I presume if you order the phone from US store you will get the US version... I live in Canada and ordered the phone from US to get the free $50 Google Play card.
I believe so. Also the USA version actually has way more LTE bands than the International version AFAIK

Try to repeat that again in your head.
And think "Why would the NA version have more bands than the Int. version?".
So no, the Int. version has waaaay more bands than the NA version.

Hi. Does anyone know if the American version works with Vodafone UK 4g? I had 4g reception only at a Vodafone store (they've got a signal boost), nowhere else can't get 4g...
This may sound dumb but, can I somehow make the 6P American model to work on band 38(2600) INTL?

No. If the hardware doesn't support a specific band, then there's no way to make it work.
there are no difference, just use US version if you're in US. If you're outside, any version will be OK.
I used my US Nexus 6P while in Dubai and I had LTE. I think you should just get the US Version if you live in the US especially if you want to use Project Fi so that the phone can connect to the sprint and T-Mobile networks properly.

How about the other way around? I have the possibility to get an US version while visiting the States, but then I'll be back in Europe and the US version doesn't have the 20LTE band, which is the most common in EU. I'm worried it'll have an impact in the LTE reception and speed. Anyone uses an US version in Eu? How is it? I see there was another person in the UK asking the same bit got no definitive answer. Thanks,
Blah...... Go with the version that fits your carrier, common sense

Where are you getting these model numbers? The model number that comes on the 6P box is H1511 for North America & H1512 for International.

S7 Edge 935F edition - on AT&T

Bestbuy sells the international version of this phone and I am going to buy it unlocked. But before I do, I had a couple questions.
1. Does this support AT&T band 30? I tried to find the info but I cant seem to locate it
2. This is rootable and bootloader unlocked?
3. Do I need to do anything special as far as region unlocking since it is the international version?
Thanks!
I can't say anything regarding the band 30, region unlocking or AT&T, but I have the 935F edition unlocked and rooted with an custom ROM (Renovate EDGE 1.0) and it works perfect :good: .
But I'm from Germany, I don't now if there are some differences.

Doesnt look like 30 is on there... crap. Maybe its not their 700mhz, but a different band. Regardless they are rolling it out now so would be nice to see that band compatibility.
Band 30 is 2.3ghz, my fault.

I got it from B&H instead.
How will i go about updating this phone? Will it receive updates from Samsung, or do I have to manually install them? Being that it isn't an AT&T phone etc.
Thanks

Help: Using a T-Mobile USA sim with a European Galaxy S5 in Germany

Hello XDA community! I am hoping that you can either help solve my problem, or tell me that it is unsolvable.
Recently I purchased this phone:
Galaxy S5
Model: SM-G900F
Baseband: G900FXXU1CPH1
Kernel: 3.4.0-8193525
Android Version: 6.0.1
Now, it was region locked in Germany since it was factory reset upon purchase. I made the 5 minute call and got this all sorted out.
However, when I insert my microSIM from T-Mobile USA, it seems I cannot connect to a network here in Germany though it lists 4. I know this is possible itself because I have been doing it for 2 years with a different phone purchased in the USA. It should be noted that this microSIM I'm now attempting to use with the S5 has not been activated itself yet because I was using the older larger sim in a Samsung Galaxy Blaze 4G until now.
I've read through many forums and tried to wrap my head around if I simply purchased the wrong phone that will not work at all with the T-mobile USA network, though the specs make me think otherwise (listed below), at least at 2g (which is mostly what I get anyway when abroad with T-mobile's anywhere free data deal), or if I need to activate the microSIM in another way, or if I can load a new baseband. This is why I'm reaching out to you all and hoping someone has some great information.
I'd also like to know if I will have trouble then using this phone when I return to the USA, and also if it will work in Australia.
Thanks a ton and all the best,
EJM

Thanks for your reply, I suppose and I hope it will work for me too..
Do you receive OTA updates normally?
Yes, even after a month of test I didn't find anything causing problem
The only thing I had to change is the SMS/MMS app because the stock one don't work on standard MMS network
Very good news ! I use mood for sms/mms so not a problem for me.. I will probably buy this phone in few days.
Thank you again for your quick replies ?
Im in Uk and all works fine. No problems at all and dont need to change mms/sms app. Only one thing Im missing is wifi call. I cant enable it because option is not available in menu with UK sim.

Thanks for the reply
I receive mine soon
Canada as mentionned works fine... The only issue I see with France is LTE bands. Are yours supported? Check the LTE bands with your operator and what the Z-Force supports, otherwise you might be stuck with 3G only (Which has all bands)

Z-Force droid is a verizon branded and exclusive phone... Was never released anywhere else from what I was told, so you'll have USA bands. You're supported for LTE, as B7 (2600) and B13 (700) tough. The Global version of the Moto Z (Non-Droid) would have global bands.
Verizon screwed people and moto over badly by making this phone an exclusive. Moto Z Force should have been the flagship Moto, not the Moto Z or the Z play...

So I am glad to hear that the French operator "free mobile" is totally compatible with unlocked verizon USA bands, and it will good to know it for future smartphone bought in USA, because it's a good deal (at least 100€ off with Europe, z force at the price of z play...) to buy flagship in USA
Just so you know, if you want to get a replacement shattershield, you'll have to order it from Moto and have to have a US shipping address... I can't get one shipped to Canada, sadly.

Yeah, I know shipito, I've supplied it to a few people in the forums Only issue is it becomes expensive for a 30$ screen replacement. I have friends in the US who can forward the package to me... So that'll be sufficient I think! Thanks though

too late for me, I discovered that after bought the phone and accessories , it will be good for next time....
After reading some forum in France, there are a lot of Bxx with 700Mhz support in the world.
For France, LTE/4G is B3, B7, B20 and B28 so it will miss 700Mhz and 800Mhz with a verizon phone.
carriers support LTE/4G, B28 begin in 2018:
Bouygues Telecom: B3 B7 B20
Orange: B7 B20
Free mobile: B7 B3
SFR: B7 B20
For the rest 2G and 3G(+) are fully compatible.
B1 - 2100Mhz
B2 - (1900 PCS)
B3 - (1800 + )
B4 - (1700/2100 AWS 1)
B5 - 850Mhz
B6 - ???
B7 - 2600 Mhz
B8 - 900 Mhz
B9 - 1800 Mhz
B11 - 1500 Lower
B12 700 ac
B13 - 700 c
B17 - 700 bc
B18 - (800 Lower)
B19 - (800 Upper)
B20 - (800 DD)
B21 - (1500 Upper)
B25 - (1900 +)

Samsung Galaxy S8 SM-G950FD Dual Sim issue getting lte

hey guys i just bought the Samsung Galaxy S8 SM-G950FD Dual Sim version
it seems to not want to receive lte nither with at&t or tmobile strighttalk service
per the specfications i bought the device it suppose to work on
NETWORK
2G bands GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 - SIM 1 & SIM 2
3G bands HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1700(AWS) / 1900 / 2100
4G bands LTE band 1(2100), 2(1900), 3(1800), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 17(700), 20(800), 28(700)
now currect me if i am wrong but the 4g bands seems to be supported with the tmobile and at&t
so my lame question is am i dumb ass and bought a phone who would not support lte in the usa
or rather i received a defected device
also according to my reading i received the enoyx vs the dragon is there real performence difference bettwen the at&t model to the one i got ?
Thank you in advance
No, you are NOT a dumb ass and bought the wrong phone.
LTE band 4 should've covered you on AT&T. It did for me on my S7 Edge FD and, of course, S8 FD
As to why you can't get LTE on yours, I'm afraid I can't be of any help.
Restart your phone.
maybe your CSC is wrong, patch it on USA.
Knox is trip, but your want LTE
and only Sim 1 can use 4g/lte sim 2 only GSM/3g
Hey, I am in S8 Cameroon, I just bought my samsung s8 SM-G950FD Dual Sim version. But it can't connect to 4G, only 2G works. Really disappointed with the phone.
