Yes. On white color, noticeable on the large white Verizon boot screen, at certain viewing angles. I just got an OTA and notice it. Did not notice it before the OTA.

Nope.

Mine was more blue and I had to tone blue down.

Nope perfect for me

Unbranded EU S8 - no red screen issues whatsoever.

Yes I have it round edges just hole update fixes it

Compared to my old s7e, the s8's whites looked a bit pinkish at first sight....BUT at the same time the reds are pure red (ral 3000). OMG these reds.... The old s7e shows an almost orange red put side by side (ral 3020). I tend to like more the punchy pure reds of the s8. It looks more accurate. I toned down the red in settings and now the white is almost pure white and looks awesome. For me this is the sweet spot. In my case the red tint is a non issue

Not sure, don't think so. Top picture is basic colour profile, second adaptive. The basic profile (and cinema and photo), the white point seems more of a yellow hue. I've made it bluer through adaptive as per the second photo, but not sure if the warmer tone is correct for the other profiles? First OLED display for a while. Can't really see any red tinge.

This pool really had me scared, i think ill wait with the purchase.

I can't certainly say I don't have it but I am not sure as whites look very different in different angles on amoled screens

Nope nothing at all

[SOLVED] Crushed blacks

So, one of the big reasons that I waited for the S3 instead of upgrading to the Galaxy Note, was because of widespread reports of "crushed blacks" on the Note's display (see this thread).
Crushed blacks is where instead of seeing an even progression in brightness from absolute inky black to the next darkest series of grays, you'll see black and then a stark jump in brightness to the next darkest gray. This defect makes watching movies and other media with lots of dark scenes a problem because it's hard to ignore the high contrasty / blotchy areas.
I'd appreciate it if someone could verify that this is a non-issue on the S3 by using the test image I've attached below. Download it, and view it fullscreen in a dark room. An actual photo of your screen would be nice too. TIA.
EDIT: Thanks all! Glad this isn't a problem on the S3 (and hopefully it won't be on the Galaxy Note 2 either).

I'm coming from a note and that pic looks perfect on this S3. On my note it jumped at like 2 bars from the bottom on the left side.

Awesome! *sighOfRelief*
I can see all boxes on full brightness.
At 50% I can't see the first two.

I come from a Galaxy Note, too. The problem doesn't exist on the S3.
First thing I did when I got my S3 was that I did the test like on the Note (opened the image in QuickPic with the setting "Force true color decoding on") and went into a pitch dark room. Breathed a sigh of relief.
Here is a good example of what the problem with the Note looked like

I'm happy to report that I had no issue on my screen. Looked great and no crushing at all. I also went ahead and did a dead pixel check and turned out to be 100% :good:

Very visible digitizer

Hi!
I heard about vertical lines visible on G2 but on mine I have them visible not only sunlight but also indoor when I'm browsing web. Especially on one color surfaces (google results white, google play background&green bar at top).
Really I'm guessing it's digitizer (line every each 1mm).
It annoying me because the're pretty visible. It is common? Please check in your devices at full brightness.

Yep can see them in sunlight especially with polarized sun glasses. Normal.

I think that's normal. I can also see them when I go outside and the lines reflect with outside light.

Ok but I can see them not only in sunlight, but in typical using. And they're not doted. Maybe that's not digitizer lines?
I can see them on my D803 in any lighting just by tilting the screen a little. Not dotted. Make the screen look like old-school graphing paper from high school. Never bothered me, though.
The extremely high reflectivity of the screen annoys me more. It's basically a mirror under fluorescent lights.
Typos courtesy of my LG G2 (D803) running Mahdi-ROM.
mine are horizzontal is that normal?

Blue topaz is simply stunning

Both green and blue were on demo and originally I thought that green would be the loveliest but when i saw the blue I was mesmerised and I think was the most eye catching . Now more confused which one to get I like the form factor if the edge more. Green was sold out I think
If I didn't already have my S6, I would jump on that blue topaz in a heartbeat. It looks amazing in photos. I have not seen it in person, but I may trade/sell my black S6 when I do
yeah I waited about 1 month extra for the Blue Topaz, I hope they keep this color for coming Galaxy's

Believe me it's the best color. My friend sold his black edge to get the blue topaz

It sure is. I wish they offered it at launch/on AT&T at all.
Blue is the best, got the Edge right away when it came out here and have use it for a while. But blue was always my favorite when they did show the colors. And now when they did get few blues where I live i could not resist the color, and now after some time on the normal s6..
I can say that only the color on my blue s6 is worth it over my edge and it's factor.? Good thing is I even get better signal from my normal s6 than my edges, and I got 2 so can't be bad ones both of them.
But if you like the blue from pictures you have to see it live, even more nice in the hand.

I just got my Blue topaz today, it's beyond stunning. But it wasn't love at first sight. When I unboxed mine this morning I thought it was kinda strong, too blueish. But now man I keep taking it out of the case and I just look at its beauty. It's amazing how it looks.

P9 Lite Light Bleed

Hello guys, i'm currently having a light bleed issue on my p9 lite. I sent it to service but they said it's normal for these models. Anyone else having the same problem? Thanks

To fix that, buy a new LCD.
Is looking at a full black screen in a dark room at high brightness something you do regularly OP?
Sent from my F8331 using Tapatalk
did you RMA'd it?
it looks like white color on the edge right?
i have it too because my phone has bent itself when he was in my back pocket :/
Every IPS device I have - two phones (one a P9 Lite), two tablets, one Dell monitor - has some degree of light bleed at the edges. It's the nature of IPS. As LadFromWales85 says, it's only really going to be a problem if you stare at a black image in a dark room... If you don't do that, it's going to be much less of an issue. Having said that, I did have a very cheap tablet that had awful light bleed at the bottom that was always visible, was like a gradient effect!
Really if you want to guarantee no light bleed, AMOLED is the way to go. But then you might start worrying about burn-in...
The bottom line is that no good will come of obsessing about things like this. Light bleed is normal with IPS and that photo is far from bad.
I have the same "problem" but is normal for the IPS panels.
Just enjoy your device
My device is HUAWEI P9 LITE VNS-L23
GOD BLESS YOU

The update did fix my red tint issue and per the below link you must use "adaptive display" setting for it to work. The other settings "Cinema" ect... still seemed red to me. Below link should help:
http://phandroid.com/2017/05/02/t-mobile-galaxy-s8-red-tint-software-update/
The update did fix my problem. After the update I can use the other color settings too. I guess we are all used to seeing greenish white lol
Is it just my s8+, or are others full screen color balance flipped? For me when I move the slider to the right where it says warm, my display actually gets cooler, and moving it to the left where it says cool, my display gets warmer, like it's flipped. Very weird. Any of you experience the same?

Seems to have helped mine, which wasn't bad in the first place. Think the internet's made me think it was worse for a while. Lol Better now though, Sammy did good on this one.
You will not be able to remap bixby button after u update
bixby button remapping
Can anyone else confirm "BixBye" remapping app does not work after the latest update? I'll leave them blocked if so.
for me Bixbye app still works after the latest update.
bixbye working for me after the latest update.
