better contrast on lg g6. - LG G6 Questions and Answers

I stumbled on this 2 years ago while rocking my lg g3. And now I wonder how well it'll work with the leg g6. Please see attached link. To old forum https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/themes-apps/super-amoled-contrast-g3-display-t2817248 this same setting can be found on the g6 also. All thoughts are welcome.

Thank God for these forums. I was in grey scale and could not figure out why. Thanks OP!

Thanks! Great option to have at night.

Won't need my G2 anymore... any takers?

Hey everyone, I wanted to let everyone know that I have switched from T-Mobile to Verizon Wireless, as the TMO coverage in my area has been pretty bad for the last year. I've gone to TMO customer service and even a couple of their stores, and I always had the impression that they just didn't care if I had good coverage or not. I have the G2 currently running Cyanogenmod 7.2.0 Stable, and will be looking at selling it once my transition to Verizon is complete. If there are any people interested in purchasing it from me, please send me a direct message here. I have no idea what the phone is worth, but would like to get something worth my while for it. It's in great condition, except that the back metal door is all scratched up. But when you think about it, if you've owned a G2 before then you'll know that this door gets scratched up with everyday use.
Here are some photos/screenshots for you to see... PHOTO GALLERY
This G2 community has been great, and I've learned an awful lot from so many here. I will miss this little area of XDA.
I sold my Desire Z for almost a month ago, and I'm still here, coz I like to help other people.

You should probably try the xda marketplace. Follow the rules and post everything except private info out in the open forum. Read the rules. Good luck.

I know about the Marketplace, but I wanted to offer it up to this group first before posting it over there. I'm sure there will be someone here that may need a replacement or additional G2. If I don't get any bites, I'll post it in the Marketplace. Thanks for the suggestion though.
How much are you looking for? My mom got suckered into buying some random nokia symbian phone on a 2 year and loves my phone. Pm me if possible.

O man, a couple of days too late for me. I just bought a G2 in fair condition off ebay. I love my old G2, but I've worn out the power button and the battery meter is wonky. Gonna try transferring my CM7.2 backup to the ebay phone tonight or tomorrow.
Just letting everyone know my phone is still available.

I am not sure if it can or not.
I've replied to all incoming PMs. Thank you for the interest in my phone. I want her to go to a good home.

[Q] who is upgrading to G3?

Curious on G2 users thoughts on this one.
As for me if form factor is manageable with one one hand then I am in.
Will be focusing strictly on dimensions.
The new look flat os has me intrigued and hope it provides clean and flat simple interface.
Bring on May 27th.
I'll likely get it and keep it for a while, don't care for the UI can easily detour and go stock if I want to

I will. But in early October

Definitively me. And I'll stay with it until the next LG G or oneplus
I will get one the first day they become available. Can't wait .
Getting one to replace my G2.
I will keep G2 for at least 2 years, so LG G4 maybe.
I will stay with G2 until last update from LG.
Definitely, I only got the G2 a couple of months ago as I was dubious about the quality of LG.
I have been so impressed with it! I should have got it the day it came out.
I will be getting the G3 the day it comes out as long as it lives upto the recent renders - titanium for me!
I
i just got a G2... no need for the new device until this wears out (i had Optimus 2X prior this for 2 years as well)
i'm not a person who needs to have a newest stuff just to show off...
G2 is an excellent phone - and will be for a long time ahead...
I will be

Some people always buy newest stuff because they enjoy having/using it, not to show off. Me, for example.
Not me

Wont Upgrade bought My G2 only 2 Months ago
No, not right away at least. Quite happy with my G2. Battery life and performance are still top notch so I have no reason to upgrade. I'm also a bit concerned with the size of the G3...the G2 is as about as big as I'm comfortable with.
I'm thinking about it.

Sell it and buy it?
Hm naaa
Im very Happy with the G2 and as the Roms also get better and faster i am sure it will be a Good Competitor against the G3 then
No I won't be. I love my G2 to bits and are in the middle of a 24 month deal.
The only phone I'll consider is the next Nexus - only if the battery is just as good as the G2.

[Q] Thinking about getting a G2... thoughts?

Hi, I hope it is ok to post this question here....
So I drowned my HTC One X today and, looking at prices, I came across the G2 which isn't all that much more expensive than the discontinued HTC. I guess that's because there's the new G3 but that one is way too big for me.
What are you general thoughts on this phone, are there problems I should know about, hardware of LG support wise? I never owned an LG mobile before nor do I think I know anyone that does. Also, and I swear I tried to google all this stuff out before posting, but is the international version of the phone the AT&T one?
Cheers!

I've owned a couple LGs now. Before my G2 I had an Optimus G Pro. The g2 is definitely a beast of a device. Screen issues do exist though, and they're not very uncommon. My buddy's screen actually got the flickering issue earlier tonight right before my eyes. I've never had an issue and I highly recommend this phone, but I'm sure other owners would try their best to steer you away from the g2 simply because of issues that LG released the phone with. Its really up to you though. Hope my input has aided in your final decision

Yes it did, at least now I'll try to find out how prevalent those problems are or hw far along the line that sort of thing might happen. The HTC had what I'm assuming is the same issue, plus problems with the wifi antenna but seemed to be something restricted to the ones made on their factory in China.
Well, I have the weekend to figure it out and, meanwhile, I'll use a Nokia 6300 I found o the back of a drawer Gods, do I feel naked without a smartphone
------
Edit: So I managed to get a used one for a good price out of ebay and it was pretty much out of desperation. It's an 802 so I'm hoping I don't have to deal with the restrictions of a carrier specific model which I tried to read on, only to decide I don't want to go through again like I had on the HTC.
Thanks guys!

[Q] considering on buying the nexus 6p. few questions..

*camera/video quality (considering it has no ois)
*build quality, holding up or breaking?
*battery life on a day to day usage
Any other issues that anybody encountered?
Was considering on the 6p or z5 but I'm not liking the fact that on the Sony phones when it get to a certain temp it won't let you operate the camera,it'll either shut down on you while using it or won't let you open the camera app. So now I'm thinking of getting the nexus 6p.
Would like to know some pros and cons on what everyone has on this phone. Thanks
Quick question: did you bother reading this forum or not at all?

Quick question. Isn't this the Q&A thread where I can ask questions or is it not. Lol you literally can't post anything on xda anymore without someone trying to be a smartass. Figured it'll be on the nexus forums that's where its always at haha

It was a honest question. Hope you get answers you are looking for.
So far for me, the only thing I don't like is not being able to tweak the way Ambient display works. It's only on or off. But I'm nitpicking here and it isn't really even a con, and certainly not a hardware thing.
Otherwise, I've been loving it! I don't believe you'd regret your decision if you choose the 6P.
---------- Post added at 06:47 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:36 PM ----------
*Additional notes:
- For video: I have taken a few videos with my 6P, and they haven't been jittery and look smooth for a phone camera.
- For battery: I don't know what you classify my daily usage as, but so far, starting with a full charge in the morning, I have not had to charge my phone before bed even once. Most of the time, I have around 50% left when getting ready for bed. If it's more heavy usage, it'll be lower, but still not close to dying. It's a fwiw kind of thing.
- Build quality: No issues here for me so far, although I am using a case. Someone who rolls with a naked 6P could probably give you more pertinent information on that.

You really have nothing to lose. Why don't you just buy it and give it a try? If you don't like it, return it. I think my advise is the best. You can get everyone's response but in the end...your feelings about the phone will determine if you keep it or not.

This is very true. The things one person likes/dislikes about a phone, you may feel differently about. I gave some of my impressions above, but you'll ultimately have to get some hands-on time with it to know for sure.
Yep, buy it, try it, then make your own decision...
Thank you guys for the feedback. I will be purchasing the phone

Wise choice. =)
Just got mine today. Got the graphite 128 and love everything about it. Always enjoyed Android but hated the bloat from Verizon. Just took my sim out of my iPhone 6s and the Nexus works perfect.

Cool! Welcome aboard.
If there is one thing, I really change on the phone is the buttons placement for power and volume. Other than that, this is a solid phone. Yes it does have its own fare share of issues, but most of them will/can be fixed with a software update from google.

Brand new G6 is causing major ear pain

Good grief!! I haven't been on a forum in so long that I barely remember how these things work!
I was just coerced into upgrading to the LG G6 and within in 30 seconds of using it my ear is hurting tremendously bad!!!
So I am curious about that issue and wondering what are the other top problems people are having with what seems to be a very new phone by LG.
Thanks in advance,
drama queen problem...
No problems here, very impressed with all aspects.
