I'm taking a dose of the only cure for flashoholism...

This phone is draining my time and killing my soul. Selling it before my wife chooses to sell me. There are more important things to focus on in my life. Already changed back to my faithful Env3. and busted out my 7MP point-and-shoot camera. Ah, the good 'ol days
PM me if you want to make an offer. Close to mint condition. A few minor scratches on the screen that happened before I applied the screen protector. Can't really even see them. Stock battery. Everything works great. Currently running MIUI, but of course you can flash what you like. I can throw in an 8GB card. Offers via PM only, please. I live near Houston, TX if that means anything to you.
I'll post to Ebay and transact it that way if it makes you feel better, but I'll have to take a slightly higher offer to cover their gouging commissions. As of now, it's not on Ebay.
You can see from my post count that I'm not new to XDA. This is legit.

Look...I am tempted nearly every minute of every day to check this website and get the latest thing. The surest way to get rid of the temptation is to get rid of the phone. I've already reclaimed a few hours of my life just in the past couple of days.

G2 issues, any solutions/suggestions?

I am really thinking of selling this thing. I put it up at Craigslist just to see what kind of bites I get on it. I'm just having a hard time with some stuff:
Proximity sensor is weird, at times the screen doesn't turn on when I put the phone down when calling someone, and other times when calling someone and I put it up to my ear the phone seems to go to sleep and the call is disconnected. Sometimes when the phone doesn't turn on again the knock on sensor doesn't work and I have to use the power button.
Knock on doesn't work half the time. I've tried every variation of fast, slow, and keeping my finger in the middle. Sometimes it works beautifully , others times it takes 4 or 5 tries.
Random battery drain, seems it's that CIQ GPS issue, but it just randomly pops up and if the phone is in my pocket drains half of it in an hour or 2.
Rear buttons are getting annoying. They are sensitive, if it's in my pocket and I'm listening to music even a light tap of my pocket and the volume is affected. I can't really get used to them.
Speaker is TERRIBLE. I did the audio hack on here and raised it to 68, I also tried the Viper4android app, neither of them made much difference. Even if they did, it's still mono so doesn't make for a great emergency boombox. I can be in a quiet room and it's bordering on useless.
Even with CleanROM installed I still get occasional lag, it's only minor, but it just bums me out with such powerful hardware.
The rest of my complaints are with Android and things that are just not polished or ready for prime time, but that should be another subject.
Pluses:
The screen is insane, and it's VERY easy to read in sunlight.
The battery life (when not bugged) is pretty insane as well.
Android is cool to tinker with.
Who else is on the fence?

Why did you wait till after the return window was closed? I'm afraid Craigslist would only net you some low ballers.
I'm not sure which carrier version you have but if it's a Verizon version expect nothing but low ball offers.

OP is alone on this one. So far it's been the best phone I've owned. The screen and battery kill all.

I tend to wonder if people start threads like this in the forum of the phone they are selling just to get attention. Just sell it and move away quietly. No one really cares.

I originally bought it off CL for $400, maybe that's why they sold it, lol. I already got 2 offers for $400 so should at least break even. Maybe I have a defective one, but don't feel like going thru LG warranty.

Seriously, taking the time to lecture me about what I should post is just as bad as me starting a discussion. It's a forum after all. If you have something which might help that would be great, have you experienced the same issues? Do I maybe have a defective unit? Do you know of any fixes which might help the issues I have?

OP, What's sad is if you had my phone, you wouldn't sell it. So far mine is perfect & has no issues @ all. Have you considered trying to buy a brand new G2?

If you were really looking for issues to fix the phone you would ask that instead of whining about selling it

Been using the Verizon variant and so far am really enjoying it. After being on touchwiz for so long, the G2 is a refreshing new experience.

I may try to go through LG warranty. Anyone think they would give me an issue if I don't have a receipt and wasn't the original buyer?

You definitely must have a defective unit, mine is so good. Previously had a Galaxy 3 & I'm not regretting the decision to skip the S4.

I don't think so. The phone just came out so the warranty is still good provided there's no water damage or anything major.

I reeeeeeeally hope the buyer of your defective phone will end up here on Xda, finding this thread. He then might have a case against you since you sold him a phone you knew didn't work properly.

I haven't sold my phone. I will probably send it in to LG to see what they think, I just was hesitant to do that in case they can't replicate the problems. I didn't feel like waiting a month just to have them send it back and say it's fine. Seems they are intermittent. Most of the time the phone functions well, other than a slight lag. The proximity sensor issues are fairly occasional, but I haven't had the phone in a while. The knock on sensor is about 1/3 the time, but anecdotally I've read lots of other users having the same issue so that may be a universal problem with maybe a batch of them. The battery drain issue is also a well known bug with CIQ which some experience.

Doesnt matter if you're not the original owner or not though.
Edit: This is according to Norwegian\Scandinavian laws btw.

prices slashed already

2 months in, and tmobile is already taking $120 off the retail price. sales must be horrendous

I bought my G4 about 1 month ago and mention this discount to a representative who credited my EIP $60 as as courtesy.
Through my trials and tribulations with the G4 I was able to submit three different rebates for both the extra battery and the 128 SD card and sold them all on eBay for an additional $270 minus fees... So all in all I'm in the G4 for dirt cheap but I'm still not satisfied with this piece of crap phone.

This root less phone is just not worth anything.
BAD ASS NOTE 4 & LG G4

every day I use the phone I find more bugs. I can no longer type fast because it misses so many taps. My phone is froze every morning from the wireless charger, so is my girlfriends. half the time double tapping the volume down won't open the camera. if I get a text my screen will turn on and stay on. it will never turn off until I read the text message. If I have an app up that keeps the screen on and I hit the power button, when I turn the screen back on to check the time it will stay on and never go off, even though still at lock screen. I could go on forever. I bet root would fix 98% of this. I think the worst problem, missed taps, is a hardware issue and cannot be fixed with software or root. I'm afraid the phone is complete ****.

I think everyone that has issues should try one factory reset. I feel like that solved all of my problems. Root would be very nice but not a deal breaker like it used to be for me. Now that I have kids the number one priority for me is the camera, and this is about the best there is.

Root isn't gonna fix any of it. It's not some magic thing that does anything really but make your system partition writable. If you're having all of those issues (and the same to the other people having issues) you've probably just got a bad phone from a bad batch of them. I had to RMA my first one, no further issues. Rather than continuously dump on the phone (which, by the way, I don't particularly care for either, and won't have another LG phone in the future, but my issues aren't with bad hardware/software, mostly company dynamics), try and get it fixed/replaced. Your issues will probably be largely fixed.
The factory reset is also a good idea, and will tend to fix most issues...but in the event it doesn't, simply get it replaced. But honestly the hollering about how bad the phone is...? Overall it's a decent piece of hardware. Not the best, but not the worst by any means. Take matters into your own hands and get the thing fixed/replaced.

I have has two G4 devices, and both have been flawless. I have no tap issues and I'm a fast typer. Then there are the people that have been talking about other bugs. I'm just so happy with my G4. Of course every aspect could be bettered, but that's true with every device. I love the G4 and here in Europe the prices drop on every device sooner or later. Especially in down times where people aren't buying phones. Everyone here is getting ready to go on vacation ...

root will fix most of it what are you talking about. xposed framework will fix almost everything. And I don't continuously dump on the phone, this is a thread about the phone not being that great. If you love it and have no issues go find a new thread. I don't particularly care for your opinion either. I have already had it replaced once. I have every intention on changing it out again, but I'll wait a month or so for them to fix the bugs vs getting another **** phone. I might add that when I spoke to LG they said the Verizon ones are having the most trouble.....and that the only difference was software....so once again I believe root will help.

Note 7 to Iphone 7 with Tmobile

this is just a little info i want to pass along that i learned from tmobile today. it's not meant to be an iphone vs. samsung thread.
i talked to a couple different reps today and they all told me the same thing. if you have a note 7 you can exchange it for an iphone 7 next friday. you cant do the pre-order because they would need to get the note 7 from you first before doing the iphone exchange. so you just take your note 7 into a tmobile store next friday and they will reimburse you for everything you paid for with the note 7 and you will even get your jump back. at that time you use the reimbursement to pay for the iphone 7 and use the jump that you just got back.

I'm pretty sure most people know this but thanks anyway. You can exchange it for any phone you want, no reason they would exclude the new iPhone. This is exactly what I plan on doing, I will be at the store at 10am on release day! Figured this is the best time for me to try out a iPhone, the timing is just to coincidental lol.

And, why downgrade to IPhone 7! Smh

That's your choice to make but just a small tip. Go to the store at 7:30 am on the release day. The stores here in New Jersey open early but they do not advertise it.

I work midnight shift and get off at 7am so ill swing by but I doubt they will open that early in Ga. Plus their are 3 T-Mobile corporate stores on the same street where I am so I'm sure I'll be able to get one on release day.

Honestly not many people in here would even care about that and to top it off why go to a phone that does less than what you have now. I know I know it blows up but you do know your chances of getting hit by a car are greater than your phone blowing up right now. I bet you still go outside and drive a car or get on a plane, etc..... Thinking about going back to iPhone as well. I shouldn't have to compromise settings just for this phone to work.
As an Android/Samsung Fanboy it's a damb shame to have to go through all this.
The 6s Plus NEVER gave me any problems. Even with 2gb of RAM, it NEVER lagged. Hell, the battery was hard to kill with heavy usage (4hrs of youtube background play, fb, text, browsing XDA, etc).
I'm trying to give Sammy a chance but damn.. hopefully the results of these replacements can change my mind.

I think better comparison would be driving and texting or being distracted by phone in general: the same people panicking about faulty batteries think nothing of using the phone while driving and I'm guilty as well, just glanced at the map to check traffic ahead, same time as the guy in front stand on breaks, I barely stopped without hitting him and I drive a lot with years of experience. Probably more than 500 people die each yr. because of phone distractions. My phone charging station is on marble table in kitchen for years (convenience of multiple outlets at above waste level), accidently right next to smoke detector. Most likely it would be non event for me even if it burned to crisp. I put my life in much bigger danger when I'm cooking, but that's another story. As a side note advice, for those interested to buy iphone7, get iphone 6 instead put the tape on headphone jack and viola, you got iphone 7, you can thank me later.

Just placed an order for the jet black and was told it would be shipping in NOV lol, so i don't know what ever comes first new Note 7, V20 or iphone

Considering that the Note 7 is the most expensive phone T Mobile sells, it seems obvious that you would be able to exchange it for ANY other phone they sell.

Wish they would've told us that we can just go get them at the store on Friday. They're saying that the phone is already sold out and that be shipments would come out in October or November

yea your best bet is to go into the store and get one. my local tmobile is opening at 8am and handing out tickets in case there is a line. they dont know how many they will have in stock.
i enjoy the people the bringing nothing to topic but come in to post to complain about others talking about the iphone. you act like someone talked bad about your mom. in the OP i stated this isnt an iphone vs android topic. yet some peoples blind loyalism cant understand that there are people that like both. there probably isnt many people that would care but there are some and this info was for them. there are already some in this very thread that said thanks for the info. i could care less about the chances. it's a recall, as simple as that. and this is definitely the place for the info. this is a tmobile note 7 thread. i'm talking about the tmobile note 7 in an exchange. doesnt get any more relevant than that.

here's a question for you. if it's not useful to you then why did you comment in the first place? doesnt matter if it was 2 people or 100, it was still useful. did my original post some how say something bad about you? did it affect your life in some negative way? i just dont see the reason for your post. you brought nothing to this thread except to complain about me making a post and then say your not bashing. might as well said i'm bashing but not bashing. who cares if it's about the iphone. it's just a phone man. it's not that serious in the grand scheme of life.

here's a question for you. if it's not useful to you then why did you comment in the first place? doesnt matter if it was 2 people or 100, it was still useful. did my original post some how say something bad about you? did it affect your life in some negative way? i just dont see the reason for your post. you brought nothing to this thread except to complain about me making a post and then say your not bashing. might as well said i'm bashing but not bashing. who cares if it's about the iphone. it's just a phone man. it's not that serious in the grand scheme of life.

yes i made a post because i was passing on some harmless information that might be useful to anyone interested. lol. like i said it's not that serious. i'm not upset, but this community has been getting worse and worse with members attacking or down talking each other over petty stuff. it didnt used to be like that.

Nexus 6P Is throttling an issue?

About to buy a 6P assuming I dislike the Pixel phones that are announced tomorrow. My concern is that the 6P has a lot of throttling issues it seems. I use my phone for social networking and youtube and internet browsing. I do not play games! Has anyone with similar usage experienced any throttling or over heating? I don't want to buy the phone just to have issues!

Nexus 6p only has throttling when you play very hard games. It will be not a issue

I've also seen that it needs restarting a lot? If you own a 6P, do you have fairly consistent performance without restarting the phone?

Lol rarely i restart my nexus 6p and allways have good performance

Have you got anything to compare it to? I really want a 6P, but don't want to risk lag or stuttering performance!! My OnePlus 3 stuttered on the keyboard and ui and my iPhone 7 was just a pain (boring and it hissed)
Also, how is the wifi performance? My current 5s is awful in the new house I've moved to. I basically need a reliable all-rounder

So, you didn't get enough opinions about the 6p in your other 'longevity of the 6p' thread? How about sticking to one thread where you ask all the questions you want? Plus on performance and experience you will get a wide variety of opinions, so maybe you have enough info now to buy a phone? It's customizable, there are regular software updates, a good dev community and no throttling problems for normal use. We good now?

You're missing the point. You should be apologizing for littering the forums with more than one thread about effectively the same thing. Littering the forums with very similar questions is actually frowned up because it makes it hard for users to find things THEY need to help THEM.
And, you even said you had this phone before, so it's not like you're starting fresh.
