Android N Adoptable Storage - Huawei P9 Lite Questions & Answers

Hi,
I just tried to activate adoptable storage over adb. This storage is recognized in settings menu, but the storage is shown as nearly full. I cant install any apps.
Did anyone noticed that and knows a workaround?
Thanks

Adoptable storage is not supported by EMUI.. I tried many times to find a workaround but it never worked, it is probably not possibile.

i think emui has it's own version of it, it's in the storage settings, called "default storage".
if you change that to sdcard it will put everything on the sdcard including apps i think (or at least the app data).
for example in spotify there's an option to change the storage location. if sdcard is set as default, spotify doesn't show that option anymore, and all songs are stored on the sdcard

Storage Card / Storage Card 2 Problem

Hello there
Ever since I changed the storage of my emails to the storage card, I have the problem that the device creates a folder called "Storage Card" when I perform a soft reset. The actual storage card is then mounted as "Storage Card 2". This has the effect that not only my email bodies are not saved to the storage card, but also that software installed on the card can't be run. I have to start Resco Explorer, remove the storage card, delete the "Storage Card" folder and insert the storage card.
It seems that the storage card driver isn't loaded until later, when the system already created \Storage Card\Messaging\... folder structure.
Is there any way to have the sd card driver load earlier, or any other solution? thx.
No solution?
I have had the same problem. I have only seem the problem from time to time, havent figured out what triggered it..
Try not to set the PIE temp. file to storage card and email attachment to storage card. Because during reboot the system can't see the SD yet, so it will create a storage card from existing rom, and this will cause your subsequently detected SD to be mounted as storage card2.

Yes, I realize that this is the problem. I'm therefore looking for a solution to either prevent Outlook/ActiveSync from creating those folders, or else tell the system to mount the storage card a bit earlier...
also
setting all the temp/cache dirs for built-in MS Win apps (like Word and PIE) on a storage card is a bad idea, from my experience, as the Universal unmounts the SD cards on power down. this causes many of the built-in Win apps to crash when powered back on, with PIE bringing down your entire phone if it can't find the cache dirs. I don't know about you, but I like my Universal to behave more like a stable phone, and not a Win PC. Installing code on the card also seems to be a bad idea, as this problem also causes apps to crash. setting cache and other volatile information to the storage card for 3rd party apps seems to be ok so far. Maybe because they're not privelaged to being integrated with the OS like built-in Win apps.

[Q] Huawei P8 - how to store offline maps (Here Maps) in my MicroSD?

Hi,
As title says, I have an issue with Here Maps. I set SD card as my default phone memory and apps are installing there with no issues. Except one. I can deal with the fact that the app itself installs in the phone memory but it's storing maps there too. In the app settings I don't have an option of MicroSD card, my options are Memory or "Emulated". When I choose the "emulated" it's still saving all the data in phone's memory. It's like my SD card was invisible. Any ideas how to change it? Thanks.
If someone's having the same problem, here's the solution I got from HERE:
1. Uninstall the app.
2. Go to a file manager.
3. Set “Show hidden files” to ON (i.e. so that hidden files are shown).
4. On both SD Card and Internal memory find the folder named .here-maps and remove/delete it.
5. On both SD Card and Internal memory check if there is still com.here.app.maps folder present (/Android/data/com.here.app.maps/)
6. If it is present, remove/delete it on both SD Card and Internal memory
7. Restart the phone
8. Install the app again
Surprisingly it still shows either Memory or "Emulated" as storage options. More - when I want to download some maps there's a status bar showing how much memory I have, it's called "internal" but it shows that there's 56,71 GB left. That's SD card for sure and that's where maps are stored. So it works, it just may be slightly confusing because it says "internal" but it stores everything on MicroSD.

Unable to attach image files to SMS, etc after enabling ADOPTABLE STORAGE

[note4 SM-N910T, 6.0.1] problem attaching image files (to text messages, or uploading to facebook using chrome) after adding real SD card as adoptable storage
submitted just now by QUAKE
Hello, I used this method to turn my note 4's adoptable storage on:
Using Root Essentials app, I went to storage adoptable storage, adopt (full card) Migrate Data From settings > storage > SD card > triple dot > migrate data
after this the problem occurs
reboot
I 'reverted' by migrating data back to internal, but that only worked once. And I don't wanna use that since I wand DCIM, and etc to be on on my external adopted SD card
SUGGESTIONS?!

Apps can't stored on external storage

l recently realized, that non of my apps stored on my sdcard if changed the app location to the sd. And if I eject the card, the apps, which suppose to be in the external storage, are not in my appdrawer, and l cant use them. So l searched for the files, and l found them in may phones internal storage, and only folders with the apps name were in the sdcard. I tried to move them manually but then the couldn't recognize anything. I have lots of free space in the sdcard, so that can't be a problem. I have the g3311 version. Do anyone know the solution for this?
And i olso turned in the force allow external option in the developer options, restarted, but still nothing

Adoptable storage with Oreo.

Have anyone tried enabling adoptable storage with Android 8 on the G6?
I tried it, which works, but the phone display the wrong storage size. Also when I connect the phone to the PC, it only shows the internal storage with it's original size, not with the sdcard size added.
Also when I try to select Migrate data, the Settings crash. I try copying files to the phone and it only goes to the internal storage.
I don't know if this is something LG don't give a crap about or going out of their way to make it not work so people have to upgrade to larger storage option. I'm inclined to never buy another LG phone if so.

Same problem (the answer of Flashing_Expert is the general procedure to format sd as internal storage but it does not solve the problem)
