g935u forgotten - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

I looked everywhere but can't find a solution, since it's April 2017 and it's something unheard of that a Samsung flagship is still almost a year behind on the new android version I wanna know if there's the chance to flash the g935f nougat or the TMO version on it. Plus i was wondering if the bootloader is unlockable since I believe it's required for such a procedure.

can i know if i can install the nougat firmaware for g935f on my g935u?

Nougat for SM-G930U firmware?

I'm on a Verizon s7 g930V running Samsung's stock firmware g930U and I've read that the phones bought through Samsung (so no carrier to go through) are getting Nougat OTA already.
I'm rooted, so it obviously gets mad if I try to check for an OTA, but should I unroot and check for a nougat OTA?
Do we know of anyone trying this successfully?
Does a Nougat Odin install package exist somewhere with "g930u" in the beginning of the filename?
Let me know if I should bother guinnea pigging on this one.
No need, I just checked and there's no update. Nothing online about it either. Seems only the international models are getting 7.0 at this time.
930/935 U is on quarterly updates. There will likely be no Nougat till April at the earliest.
so is there any possible way of running nougat on sm-g30u?
am i able to flash sm-g30f firmware on this to get nougat or is this not possible as they are different models?

The F model is the international version and it is not compatible with the US unlocked S7. You can however flash any US carrier version firmware on the the SM-G930U.
thanks, are they any known issues in smg930u like the ones i raised earlier?
seems very buggy in australia. Microphone is also recording muffled and louspeaker calls echo on my listeners end and no noise cancellation
getting frustrated with the device, network is bad, any possible way of flashing the baseband from a sm-g30F to a SM-G930U?
I need the network more reliable. Now i regret not checking the model number before buying the phone

EDIT: Neverfmind, figured it out.

Firmware from SM-T377P on AT&T SM-T377A Tab E?

I was just curious if it was at all possible to flash the firmware from the T377P model to the AT&T model (T377A) because it seems like most of the development is for the T377P. Has anyone achieved this yet or attempted flashing any other model's firmware to the T377A?
Flashing SM-T377P firmware on a SM-T377A wouldnt work, because the T377P uses a Snapdragon 410, not an Exynos 3475 like the T377A uses. Flashing SM-T377T (T-Mobile) firmware might work, since it uses the same Exynos CPU as the T377A

I'm just curious what the best alternative firmware would be to flash (if possible at all) on this tablet because there's absolutely zero development on the AT&T variant (T377A) of the Tab E. Preferably a firmware that's been successfully rooted, etc.

Unfortunately nothing can be developed for the T377A because the bootloader on that variant is locked, so that means we can't do anything to the device, even with Odin. If there was a way to convert a T377A to a T377T, or if there is engineering firmware for the T377A, then maybe development is possible.
On another note, I found somebody's backup of the Nougat firmware for the T377A: https://mega.nz/#!eHJSUCoZ!54BXNlvrL6RJfEHzS4qNOj3eqwCpxSrzrI2l_IqHe84
Contains the AP, BL, CP and CSC files.

Can you please describe what you did to unlock it? I've tried 1000 things and nothing seems to work
You have to request the unlock code from AT&T, there's a slight difference between doing it for phones from your own plan or someone else's phone (you received as a gift or purchased second hand). They walk you through the process for each type of equipment so it's relatively smooth.. I just want to remove the bloatware and have a security update more recent than tree years old. This is my main gripe with AT&T, stuck with questionable bloatware and a vulnerable version of Android (and it's locked down so tight no one can fix it on their own).
So you were able to unlock the bootloader by following an AT&T tech over the phone?

Which S7 Edge phones can be bootloader unlocked?

I just found out that my SM-G935P has a locked bootloader and is therefore stuck at Android 8.0.
If I want to buy another S7 Edge that is upgradable, I just have to make sure that it has the Exynos chipset, correct?
All s7 only had an official update up to android 8. When you say update, are you referring to having other possibilities using custom roms or are you referring to the rom stock update ?? If it refers to rom stock, it is better to buy an s9 or s10.

Switching firmware for SM-G975U (need advice)

Hi guys, need some advice on S10+.
I'm from an Asia country and last year I bought a new S10+ from a online seller which does grey imports for mobile phones, because I want a Snapdragon version over the Exynos, which is what most Asia countries get.
The Model number (SM-975U) and Baseband version (G975USQS3CTB6) are indicating this is a US variant but I can't tell which carrier it is because there is no carrier logo on the phone or when I turn on the phone, no bloatwares as well.
The only down side is this Baseband/carrier does not have updates since March 2020. I tried checking for updates but got nothing.
What I try to get:
1. Latest original firmware which will continue to update itself (hopefully)
2. No carrier bloatware
3. No need root or custom roms (Doesnt go well with banking apps)
I have experience rooting and flashing custom firmware on my previous Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, but I can't remember if I have done unlocking bootloader before, lol.
Need advice on:
1. Which firmware should I choose?
2. I remember XDA forums used to have useful Guide under Sticky Threads but now I don't see it. I hope this guide will be able to help me with what I am trying to do.
3. I probably sound stupid here, is there any flashable settings file that is friendly to Asian region/telco? I am noticing a bit of network weakness on my phone, I hope its just me.
Thanks to anyone who reads this.
You've aquired the US Unlocked Snapdragon variant, it's not associated with any US carrier and it's not bootloader unlocked. Flashing updated FW is likely your best bet, it's available here.

The only other option for an update is Samsung's SmartSwitch. Whether or not it's compatible depends on your local service provider.

G950U Verizon unlocked update in the EU

Hi. So, fist post, tried to search a similar, but didn't find any.
I bough t a 2nd hand S8 SM-G950U. I am in the Netherlands, it was cheap. This had a Verizon firmware but was already unlocked. I could live by hiding the Verizon apps, but I couldn't update and the security updat was from 2019.
I went through a tutorial and found a Sprint firmware that is from 2020, but if I try to update the software, it says the device is up-to-date. I have another, G950F S8 that still receives updates. I just guess it is looking for updates on the EU servers that don't have updates for the US firmware.
I read that I cannot flash it with the G950F firmware, because they have different architecture, so what are my options? Can I try the U1 firmwares?
Thx, M.
