[Q] Install 4.3 OTA with CWM?

I downloaded the OTA update on my wifi N7, and when it rebooted into recovery, I found that I had CWM installed. Is using CWM to flash the OTA package dangerous? My instinct tells me it's not a good idea. I was under the impression that having CWM installed would block OTA updates in the first place. Thanks!

Droid Ultra OTA Update 12.15.15

This is a link to the OTA Update for 12.15.15.
Download and install through stock recovery. Keep in mind if your missing any system apps or have them frozen this will not work.

After installation refer to this thread to root if you so choose.

Struggling to Update - Help Needed

So my son's 2012 Nexus 7 (32 GB Wi-Fi) is struggling to update. I was checking to see if he got the 5.0 update and noticed he's still on 4.4.2. When I tried to update to 4.4.3 it won't reboot and install the update.
I then tried to sideload the update and it failed due to some certificate issue. Maybe because it's unlocked? I then rooted it again (lost it after the last update apparently) and also installed TWRP. I was going to attempt to sideload from within TWRP but adb doesn't see the device in sideload mode for me for some reason.
Bottom line... Can I just flash the OTA zip file like any other file within TWRP? If not, does anyone have any over ideas of what I can do to update this this without wiping it clean?
I think you will have to flash the 5.0 and images using fastboot. Can you get into ap fastboot mode?
before that though, and to answer your questions:
- unlocked bootloader does not cause issues
- I've used twrp to flash all of the KitKat ota updates directly. simply put the update zip in the internal storage of the device (I always put it in sdcard0/) and flash. the only reason that would fail with KitKat is if you have xposed installed, which was fixed by flashing xposed Disabler zip first. I don't think having root mattered.
- for the lollipop update flashing from twrp didn't work for me. I had to first return 4.4.4 to stock system and recovery (by flashing the system.img and recovery.img files from stock 4.4.4) then adb sideload 5.0 ota update. In your case tho you'd have just updated to 4.4.4 so you can just go straight to sideloading.
All the ota update links are in the second sticky in the general section. make sure you follow the correct to:from build numbers.
I'd prefer this longer route of ota updates, but if nothing works then you can probably just flash system, recovery, and boot directly from the lollipop firmware, and leave userdata untouched. I'd also Not flash the bootloader, as it's reported to have issues.

NOOB Question - OTA after rooting and TWRP

Hi all,
Sorry for the noob question.
Can I receive and install official OTA updates after rooting and installing TWRP ?
Thanks.
NO!
Ota
Oh. Can I flash the ota zip from twrp?
Kindly guide me as I am clueless.
Thanks
You can receive OTA with TWRP, but not if you're rooted. My method of getting OTA is by keeping a stock rom zip on my sd card. When an OTA comes out, I flash the zip, breaking root, boot into OxygenOS, accept the OTA, it should install, then I reboot to TWRP and flash SuperSu.
You can flash the OTA from TWRP, but when I tried that, it said I was on the correct version in about phone, but it still kept telling me there was an update available.

OTA updates after root?

Hi, I have a european S8+ fully rooted and with TWRP.
Everything's working great so far but I read somewhere that I won't receive further OTA updates.
Can I install them manually with TWRP?
If yes, 3 questions:
1. Where can I get them?
2. Do I need every single update or are the newest update always containing the older updates as well?
3. Do I lose root or TWRP after installing an update?
I've rooted with Magisk by the way.
Typically if you're rooted and modified the system partition (BusyBox or twrp or whatever) the update will not install in stock recovery. Usually you have to unroot reinstall stock recovery and flash ota. There's toolkits out that can do that. Or you can just find an awesome rom like a rooted debloated rom thats just recently updated and just flash that. Or you can what till somebody snags the ota update location then posts that.
