I was looking at the MOTO Z threads and there is a anykernel.zip that forces the drivers for f2fs to allow supesu to be wriiten to the system.
I have the zip but I have no idea what it will do?

No, need a rest, I'll upload the zip. You need to sideload it through ADB.
TWRP then advance and select ADB sideload.

Remark for people willing to test things: Guess there is a good chance to root Nougat if you format data as ext4 instead of f2fs. Then the broken loopback device of f2fs will not be the problem anymore.
Disclaimer: I'm not responsible for things not working if you change anything. Even if it is a suggestion by me. I have no idea if you can just switch filesystems on Android without major drawbacks or problems, although I guess it should be possible. Many devices use ext4 for data.

It's there ext4 but somehow I'd guess you'll probably end up in a bootloop or SuperSU won't flash. Give a try but do a nandroid

I have one issue. My phone was encrypted, so when I change the data partition to ext4 the boot ask me the pass, but always says incorrect password. When I change to f2fs and do a wipe didnt ask the password.

Hi members.
As the title says i created a flashable zip.
I did not test the zip yet. No errors occurred during creation.
I used
XZDualRecovery locked bootloaders v 2.8.22
SuperSU Beta v 2.52
Stock C6903 Customized DE 1277-0154 14.6.A.1.216 R2D
Everybody who is downloading the zip should know what he has to do!
It would be helpfull if anybody who has downloaded and flashed the zip could confirm that it is working or not.
Download --> https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bw5LFMK1hMKmNm0ycWNmdnJ0S0k/view?usp=sharing
Just writing from my freshly installed zip. Dirty flashed with only wiping cache and dalvik using twrp recovery.
Android version is still 5.1.1 as supposed.
Thanks Bro Downloading
Will try it too!

I don't know what's the problem. I used the zip I created from my computer.
I didn't download the zip from Google Drive. So I hope the upload I did to Google Drive isn't corrupt.
Normally this zip should work. I hadn't any problems.
Then I think there's something wrong with the downloaded zip. Indeed everything is OK for me during the flash with TWRP (no visible error) but when it reboots, I'm still on. 368...
For me it's working. But I tried first the Indian version, I made a clean installation from that, so I don't know if coming from previous versions it would work...

I was on stock (.368)
I just downloaded and flashed your zip
I tried two methods:
Number 1:
-Wiped everything and installed your zip, went into bootloop
Number 2:
- reflashed stock (.368) and then flashed your zip, only this time i left out the system etc. And only wiped the cache and dalvik
---------- Post added at 05:54 AM ---------- Previous post was at 05:53 AM ----------
The guy who gave us the indian ftf didn't bother mentioning that it was for c6902, no radios working on that one but flashing was perfect and i did achieve the (.216) firmware
That's strange. I am sorry for the circumstances users are getting using this zip.
I had no problems going from 368 to 216. But I used the zip I created from my computer and not the one from Google drive.
I am on c6906. Can I go into recovery, do a full wipe and then just flash this?
No don't do that. This zip doesn't flash the new build anyway. Don't you want to upload it again?

Just use terminal emulator, the android version doesn't matter. If it did there would be disclaimers on their website, like only for android 4.x.x or 5.x.x etc.

dd Install Method (Requires Root):
Download the latest image file (.img) from the download link above. Place it in the root of your /sdcard folder and rename it to twrp.img. Run the following commands via adb shell or a terminal emulator app:
su
dd if=/sdcard/twrp.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p10

or you can just use Flashify from the playstore to flash the file.
@muaaviya If I were you, I would follow lennyz guide then remove KINGROOT, you can probably/hopefully unroot/remove in the app, then flash SuperSU.zip in recovery to root here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/supersu/2014-09-02-supersu-v2-05-t2868133
It may not remove it completely, haven't tried kingroot. In the future only use one-click apps as the last option, if at all. Not the safest way to root, IMO.

no pc/fastboot needed, I did clean install via v41, root is gone but v41 still persisted. how?
- booted to v41 , fully wiped system,data,dalvik,cache
- flashed 3.1.4 finished then directly 'reboot to recovery' within v41 menu (just ignored the "No OS installed") got back to twrp v41,
- wiped cache only and rebooted to system (it was took 8 mins until system completely booted into OS).
- booted back to recovery to check and voila! v41 still persisted, somehow! (even system gt wiped)
- all works just fine so far
any info for superSU 2.78 SR3 would work on 3.1.4? I need to be rooted a.s.a.p. Thanks!

Root and new ota 20170218 firmware

Hi!
I've rooted my S7 using XN Logos instructions (https://forum.xda-developers.com/elephone-s7/development/root-twrp-elephone-s7-t3522479) and now I have an official OTA upgrade (Elephone_s7_97_20170218), but in the upgrade note they say not to upgrade if you rooted your phone.
So before trying myself... did anyone tried to do the ota upgrade in a rooted S7?
Thanks!
You can't with root.. You have to install stock recovery..

With this New update I did this :..
Back up with recovery my user data in sdcard,
Flash with flashtools the new rom.. The problem, only can did it on downgrade mode.. And with this the update delete all data.
Then, flash twrp recovery, flash super su with twrp.. And later restore my back up.. Only data...

Thanks for the reply and I though as much.
I'll do what you did, but... I'm a little more then a noob so please bear with me, ok?
All my S7s updates/upgrades where done using OTA, but for getting root I flashed twrp recovery.img then flash the supersu. So now I'm thinking (ok, maybe I shouldn't! )
Is it possible to flash just the original recovery.img of the stock firmware I'm using? If that works, then update/upgrade to the new firmware using OTA and after that, flash twrp recovery.img and supersu. Do you know if all of this will work?
