Ey, I just got root running using this method: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/recovery-official-twrp-gteslte-galaxy-t3419219
Please note that you must verify your chipset first. Download Droid Info from the Play Store and go to the "system" tab. Under CPU architecture it should say board/chipset. You want to verify that you have the Exynos chipset. Verify that board/chipset is an Exynos type chipset thorugh google. (How to: Mine says universal3475, I typed '3475 qualcomm vs exynos' into google, results show 3475 is Exynos, 410 is Snapdragon equivelant, I have Exynos so I can continue. If you have a Snapdragon/Qualcomm version, this will not work for you, stop here.)
Do note that the key combination may be different to get into recovery/download. I have the T377T myself (this tutorial should work for T377W as well). For me it was like this -
Home + Up + Power --> Recovery mode
Home + Down + Power --> Download mode
When you do the Odin step, you MUST hold the combo for Recovery mode as soon as you hit start because it happens quick. If you miss this step you will have to start over because your OS will rewrite the stock recovery back over your newly flashed TWRP recovery. Do not be alarmed if you mess this up and your tablet throws an error about a corrupted partition, you can factory reset to get it up and running again (w/out root), then start over.
Once you have TWRP up and running you can go ahead and flash SuperSU and achieve root. Hope this helps.
So far as Xposed goes: https://www.xda-developers.com/official-xposed-framework-android-nougat/

Well I'm working on a stock based ROM right now. CM will have to be somebody much more talented than myself.
Is root compatible with the 9.7" LTE (T815)? It's basically the same hardware as the T715 so should work but would love a confirmation on this as I don't see it listed the top section of the thread. Thanks much

You can use the t810 root. The only issue is that your stock recovery will say t810. Irrelevant if you install twrp or just root with twrp itself.
Sorry for the complete noob question, but I am running the verizon version of the tablet Model SM-T817V android version 5.1.1.
Is this just like live4thamuziks S2 and my S2 is fully compatible to root using this method? I would reallly not like to brick my device!

Nope. You cannot use this method.
Hi,everyone!
Please advise would CF-Autoroot and TWRP work on SM-T815Y?
Thanks, However I think I am going to hold off until there is a root specifically for the t817t on 5.1.1 AOG8 cause I've read that a lot of people who flash the t810 root have bootloop issues, cannot use 4G LTE and cant go back to the stock t817.

The ONLY people having bootloop issues are the ones that don't read instructions properly!
Flashing a t810 kernel on an LTE device will lose LTE connectivity.
There won't be a specific root for T817T as it's the same as the t815.
Worked perfectly! Successfully rooted my new S2 last weekend. Thank you. Was able to FREEZE 40+ running applications via Titanium Root which has had a magnificent impact on battery life. Life is good on the other (rooted) side!

RECOVERY IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING boot loop
Dear all,
Reeally appricite your effort getting full control of our tab S2!
Clearly I have done something very wrong while rooting, and updating my S2 from LL 5.0.2; I'm now at the point where my 810 tab are in a "endless" booting loop what the top-right corner of the boot screen are showing "RECOVERY IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING", looks like there is an attempt to boot, but it don't succeed.
Before I go further and make things even worse I wonder if you have hints or ideas that can help me get the tab s2 running andirod agian? (please...)
This is what I did:
from factory state wiht 5.0.2 on smt810:
I rooted : smt810_cf_autoroot.tar - booted -root working
I twrp - t810_twrp_LL_5.0.2.tar - booting - all working
I updated the sw : 810_oh7_fw_BigBot96.tar.md5 -- and is **** here, in the RECOVERY IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING loop
Clearly I'm not a expert, that have done something wrong - agian, truly appriciate any hints.

It quite clearly states in this thread and MY original root thread that you must install the permissive kernel and the updated twrp for lollipop 5.1.1.

How to root SMJ500FN?

Hi guys, I'm asking here because I'm really confused about the large number of versions of this phone. I'm looking for a simple method to root my SMJ500FN. I see lot of variants so i can't know if the process of a 'x' version is equal to mine. Tia

This is quite common question and already answered before... I've wrote the guide below, took me some time since I've done it on phone :S
Anyway, next time please search before asking a question as there may be already an answer.
There is also a thread with Q&A, basic informations and ROMs / kernels list.
Click below to see the guide.
TWRP for 5.1.1: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-j5/development/recovery-samsung-galaxy-j5-t3468844 .
TWRP for 6.0.1: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-j5/development/recovery-samsung-galaxy-j500f-t3416960 .
If you already have TWRP installed, then check step 3) and then skip to step9).
1) Download Odin. I'm using v3.09.
2) Download the right TWRP according to your android version and J5 model.
3) Download one of these:
- SuperSU
- phh's SuperUser which is Open Source.
- Magisk Systemless Root which is Open Source too.
4) Go to Settings > About phone and tap 7 times the build number to unlock Developer Options.
5) Go to Settings > Developer Options and enabled OEM unlock option (something like that).
6) Boot the phone in download mode, by holding Power + Home + Volume down buttons same time and choose continue or something like that.
7) Open Odin and connect your phone to PC. Make sure that the USB drivers is installed on your PC. Usually this is done automatically by Windows when you connect your phone to PC.
8) Now in Odin you should see a number at ID:COM or similar. Press "AP" button and choose the TWRP file you've downloaded and start to flash.
If you're flashing TWRP 6.0.1, then untick the auto reboot option in Odin before starting to flash. Once the flashing process is done, unplug your phone from PC, take out the battery and boot in TWRP by holding Power + Home + Volume UP buttons same time.
9) Boot in TWRP by holding Power + Home + Volume UP buttons same time.
10) Flash the root file you've downloaded at step 3) (SuperSU / phh SuperUser / Magisk).
11) Reboot and profit.

Change DNS settings
If the above tips did not work for you, its time to take things to the next level. If the Galaxy S7 is the only device in your Wi-Fi network to suffer from slow speeds, you can try changing the DNS server used on the handset.
For this, you will first have to make the device forget the existing Wi-Fi network. Then, tap on its name to join again, but before you enter the password, tap on ‘Show advanced options.’ Now proceed to tap ‘IP Settings’ and select ‘Static’ from the list. Leave other IP settings as they are, and simply enter the DNS server you’d like to use in the DNS text field area. You can try using Google DNS first (8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4) or OpenDNS (208.67.222.222) to see if they fix the Wi-Fi woes on your S7 or not.

Having trouble as well.
I get message "integrity check failed" after flashing magisk via twrp a step 11 then makes me reset the phone but because of the custom recovery it only bootloops.
Then i restart the whole process again only to stop at step 11.
Is there a step i'm missing?
Start all over again, but on step 11 follow this.
Try it this way:
When you boot up to TWRP, swipe allow modification. Flash MagiskV14.zip, then if it says install TWRP app, press "do not install".
If you have problem seeing files wipe DATA and then reboot to recovery again using TWRP, select SDCARD as storage then flash MagiskV14.zip
I tried it but i accidentally let the phone reboot after flashing twrp and it failed the integrity check and started bootlooping. I entered recovery and grabbed the log which i attached here.
So I did the steps again but used this steps from the other guide for exynos models
At this point, you will reach the screen asking you if you want to allow system modifications.
By swiping right, you will trigger dm-verity, and if you don't follow the next step you will be unable to boot!
If you are going to root your device and follow the rest of these steps, then it is safe to swipe right and enable modifications.
If you want to use Systemless DevBase, then do not swipe. Keep it as read only.
Go to Wipe and click on format data. Type "yes" and it will format.
Now go back to home and click on "Reboot" then click on "Recovery" Option.
Then went from step 11 here and what you said to flash magisk and it worked.
My phone is finally debloated.
I tried your steps many times but everytime it's failing. Everytime it fails when installing "system". I've tried with different CSC version firmwares but it failed with each one of them. I', 100% sure that it is G930W8 S7 Flat because it was running on the same version of custom ROMs.

Same here... I tried it on two different stock roms with no luck.
I almost soft bricked my s7 which was working perfectly before applying the patch. It was giving me dm-verity error at boot...
I was able to flash it back and make it working using full stock rom.
I highly recommend readers to NOT apply the above Magisk Root on their G930W8 (S7).

I just want to confirm this, since it's not explicitly mentioned in the post... When you root it trips KNOX, which locks you out from Disconnect Pro, Samsung Health, and Samsung Pay. Does this also mean that Android pay will not work either? Or does this method allow for Android pay to work?
If not, is there a workaround yet?

There are many reports on the XDA forums that Android Pay works with Magisk systemless root and with tripped Knox on S7 (as opposed to Samsung Pay which will not work once Knox is tripped).

Fix Odin Device Info Fail when Restoring (Credits to Original Poster)
Method 1
Open Odin, place all the necessary files into their slots.
Go the the options tab, make sure "Auto Reboot" IS ticked.
Press "start", but as soon as you do, hold down VolumeDown+Home+Power on your phone.
Odin will fail and your phone will reboot into download mode again.
Now press "Start" in Odin again, and your phone should flash without a problem.
This might take a few attempts to get right.
Method 2 (Another Variation)
Download the stock for your phone.
Boot into download mode by pressing ( power + volume down + home button) and stop at the screen of continue and reboot.
Press volume down to restart phone
Quickly boot back into download mode by pressing (power + volume down + home button)
Press continue
Install firmware with Odin
Wait for the firmware to be installed
Ready.

I followed these directions exactly but when I boot into TWRP and attempt to install the Magisk.zip I recieve the following errors stating "could not mount /data partition" then causing the phone to bootloop until I flash the stock firmware again.
Why is this happening?

My phone is finally debloated.

can you clarify(link to) what combination of steps you used to achieve a successful root? I havent attempted again since my last attempt but it sounds like you had some success. If you'd share it'd be really helpful and appreciated. Would really like to get root back on my phone
also just to clarify, I'm on nougat 7.0 with security patch Nov 1, 2017
Thanks

If its first time TWRP installation then you need to Format data (Caution: Format data will format the Phone internal storage and you need to backup files first if you have in phone storage like photos video and etc) After formatting data it Will allow to read and write the data partition). Further once you Flash TWRP then Super SU or Magist (Root) is compulsory to boot normal unless its bootloop
Any of you recommend holding off on the root till the Oreo update? Also, does rooting change the kernel to a different one? I wanna avoid battery/performance issues if I can by staying on the stock kernel.

How do you format the drive? What type of file system do you format it to? At what point in this tutorial is this done?

Galaxy J7 Sky Pro "SM-S737TL" Wal-Mart Family Mobile. GOT ROOT?

Im not New to rooting phones Iam new to rooting Samsung phones and Odin Software.
some specs of SM-S737TL:
Carrier: WMFM
OS: Android 7.0
Model #: SM-S737TL
Device Name: Galaxy J7 Sky Pro
CPU: Exynos Octa 7870
Architecture: 8x Arm cortex-A53 @ 1.59 GHz
Board: Universal7870
Ram: 2G but actually is 1.85G "but who's counting right!?"
Internal Storage: 16G
Security KNOX
few things about this phone:
-In developer options there is NO option for OEM UNLOCK "My first phone without that option"
-FRP LOCK is ENABLED
-In this phone's recovery the top line reads "samsung/j7popeltetfntmo/j7popeltetfntmo7.0/NRD90M/S737TLUDU1AQF2 user/release-keys" My issue here is "TMO" Im guessing that that means T-Mobile???
-I feel like the Internal Storage was Auto Encrypted without asking the user and without an option to encrypt internal storage. The only option for Encryption is individual file encryption. I say this because battery life is horrible I have seen this on other phones that have encryption enabled. Or is it KNOX doing the battery drain?
-Odin download mode with VOL Dwn+Home Key+PWR

Questions:
1. Is the Samsung J7 Sky Pro just a Rebranded
Samsung galaxy Wide
Samsung Galaxy Prime
2. Could we use a root method from a similar rebranded phone?
3. Could we use a SuperSU from the rebranded or Super similar phone? "i kinda know the answer but I ask anyway"
4. Could we just flash the latest SuperSU using CF auto-root w/Odin or Just typical ADB commands and gain root like that?
5. Notice the line at the recovery of this phone it says "j7popeltetfntmo" TMO usually means T-Mobile. So whats up with that???
6. Odin Mode easy to get to Rumor is Tracfone Doesnt lock bootloaders Does this mean the Sky Pro Tracfone Varient has a Unlocked bootloader out of box? I assume yes because we can get to bootloader, Odin Mode, and Recovery without hax/mods

I'm waiting on that too I bought two on black Friday to send to relatives in Mexico and so far no root no unlocking, waiting on Odin or that other root software to get er done
Sent from my HTC One M9 using XDA Free mobile app
this is op. Look for crom sevice on xda download install. I believed it oem unlucked my phone. Check it out guys. Get back to me let me know what you think. now if we have oem unlock we just need stock rom.
With this phone the way to root it would be Reset to factory then not letting the phone to load and run stock install WE HAVE TO AVOID ENCRYPTION WHICH THIS PHONE FORCES! SO WE FACTORY RESET AND GO IMMEDIETLY TO BOOTLOADER
Oh I should tell you I installed crom service but the phone didnt reset and apply update immedietly it was like 1 or 2 days later. I just left it installed figured if it didnt do anything right then it doesnt work. I Got distracted with a phone call and forgot to uninstall crom. Thats the story I want root for my phone

Ok. Before I even say anything, I have no idea what half of the things that are said on here means. All I want is to be able to use my phone as a mobile hotspot/tethering. But that setting is not on this phone. I have the j727vl. I downloaded a app that lets me access the setting but it's blank. Does that make sense? Anyways. I Googled ?how I could possible get my phone to let me do that, and i cane across rooting it. I've tries kingroot and one other thing (forgot what it's called ?) so please if someone can explain what to do (in a language I can understand) id be forever grateful. I just want to be able to watch Netflix again ??

You don't need an app to be able to use your phone as a hotspot
All you have to do is go to connections and then Mobile Hotspot and tethering

I cant. That is not even an option on this phone, or atleast not the one I have. I have read that the carrier may have that setting blocked.

So this method works for this mobile?
my model is Samsung sm-s727vl
which is from StraightTalk
Does this also sim unlocks the phone?
I don't really want to try this without someone saying this method worked.
Anything so Far?
Anything so Far? I tried to root my phone but when following instructions but I can't flash anything. I tried going in control panel, update drivers etc. but no luck. Help me and if anyone has successfully rooted the SM-S737TL then let me know how you did it. Thanks in advance. Will the other versions work with SM-S737TL? (eg. SM-J727V OR SM-S737VL)
Root didn't work for sm-s737tl
I love this Walmart family mobile phone but would like to root it. I bought the same phone for my mom because it's a great phone for the price. I tried the root as outlined but the result was FAIL! ODIN found the phone and connected but the end result was Complete (Write) operation failed and the download screen said something about a security check failing.
I'm assuming I'm missing an OEM unlock but don't see it in developer options menu.
My baseband version is s737tlud1aqf2
I really want to root this phone!
Hlp I have no computer can I root it ?????
I have no computer but I'm working on borrowing one I really hope this works I've been waiting on this for a long time thank you in advance:fingers-crossed:

Installing TWRP on Galaxy Tab 4 SM-T235Y without Home Button

So I'm trying to install TWRP my Tab 4 just to make it more useful but my device's Home button doesn't work anymore that is why I'm having a problem installing TWRP,
I got into Download mode thanks to Samsung 300k Tool and installed the TWRP.tar but since it requires to do the button combination [Power]+[Vol Up]+[Home] after installing which is obviously I can't do anymore I can't go into the recovery mode. Basically I want to install Lineage OS to update the android version and also root it. Is there a way to do this?
