Root Permissions Not Working For Most Apps After BOK3 Keeproot Upgrade

I already had root on a much older build. I'm on BOK3 (Verizon). Root Check shows I have root, supersu seems to be working, I can drop into su via a terminal, but most my apps that require root aren't getting it. Cleanmaster, Autostart Manager, AppFreezer, Helium (None can use root). I was able to install BusyBox. Supersu shows that all these apps have root permissions granted after I was prompted. I tried setting Supersu to always allow root without prompting but it didn't work. Supersu always says that it has granted access for an interactive shell. I have no idea what to do. My phone sucks without root
Here is what I did to upgrade and keep root. I followed the instructions perfectly and everything seemed to work (But obviously not so well): http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-galaxy-s5/general/how-to-update-to-g900voe1-5-0-keeproot-t3149784
Any help is GREATLY appreciated.

Help me get rid of Kingroot

I have rooted my L8lite using Kingroot and it was successful (I think), but now I can't get rid of Kingroot if my life depended on it.
Things I have tried so far:
- Replacing Kingroot with SuperSU using the method described here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/p8lite/general/tutorial-how-to-root-bootloader-unlock-t3314786
- Replacing Kingroot with SuperSU using SuperSU-Me application from here: https://androidmtk.com/replace-kinguser-with-supersu
- Removing Kingroot using the option of SuperSU to remove other SU apps
- Uninstalling from Kingroot options menu
- Restoring a backup previously made using adb
- Factory reset
None of this worked. Please for the love of god someone tell me how to remove that piece of malware from my phone. I am frustrated beyond measure and extreme close to completely giving up.
Is my only option flashing? Would that help with removing Kingroot?
Thank you.
Update: I upgraded to Android 6.0 from local storage using an update I downloaded from Huawei's official website (http://forum.xda-developers.com/p8lite/general/rom-emui-4-0-android-6-0-single-sim-ale-t3360097). Kingroot is no longer there and Root checker app says the phone is no longer rooted. Curiously, SuperSU and SuperSU-Me are still there, but I removed them using app manager without hassle. Am I in the clear now?
Update 2: After rebooting using "adb reboot bootloader" command it seems that bootloader is still unlocked, which is good. Now I have to find a better way to unroot.
Getting rid of kingroot
Hey bujamin,
Kingroot is a powerful app and removing it without losing root is a near impossible task.
However, I have a solution, not a programmed flashable zip or something but just a way to get rid of Kingroot using existing tools.
My solution :
1. Use kingroot to root your device.
2. Get a custom recovery after you acquired root with KingRoot, preferably TWRP (bear with KingUser).
3. Open Kingroot and in Settings you will find an option to Remove Root authorisation or Uninstall kingroot (depending on the version). This will remove Kingroot completely and unroot your phone too.
4. Since, you have a custom recovery installed now, you no longer need Kingroot to acquire root access.
5. Get the latest SuperSu flashable zip from here.
6. Access the recovery and install the SuperSu zip that you downloaded.
7. A Success message and an option to reboot system will be shown.
8. Reboot.
SuperSu has now been installed and can be found in your app drawer. Your phone is now rooted.

may help
When asking for help you need to provide additional information such as device info:
sdk
manufacturer
model
However I faced the same problem too!
If I understood you correctly...so first thing first.
1. install superSU first & use root to install it as a system app any root apps can do that)
2. before rebooting the phone....please install busybox utilities from an app called "Busybox" on google play
3. reboot the device
4. once successfully rebooted open SuperSU & grant it root from kingroot & try to get it to install its binary.
- if it cant, disable kingroot after you know superSU was granted root & then try again.
-if it doesnt work again...then uninstall kingroot & relaunch SuperSU & try to let it install its binary again.
I have the lgms330 with the same kingroot version, did yours also automatically convert it to a system applies? I've never seen it do that on my other phones. Also my PlayStore stopped working when the update showed up there. Lol only good thing is Google also stopped telling me it would hurt the system. I have the newest version downloaded but I'm terrified to install it until I get some opinions cuz I currently don't have a monitor for my computer in case I brick it.
How to download kingroot

Device not rooted despite PurpleDrake saying that it was?

I'm trying to root my device using PurpleDrake. The installation goes just fine, no errors, I am told that it is now rooted. However neither Root Checker nor SuperSu detect root. Any help?
EDIT: Nevermind, decided to go for different root method.
