Newbie in desperate need of help to root my le 1 pro (us version) - LeEco Le1 Pro Guides, News, & Discussion

Hello everyone. First I want to say that I did read a few guides and saw a few videos of how to root that damn phone. It's been more than 3 hours and I've still not been able to root it (I managed to follow guides successfuly until my phone was not detected for ADB to work...)
I'm a total newbie in terms of rooting and stuff. This is my first android device. It is infected so it installs malicious apps automatically... I've never been so much disappointed by a phone... I desperately need the help of a generous person willing to guide me through skype so that I can overcome the damn detection problem of the device.
Excuse me if my english isn't perfect, it isn't my native language.
I hope that my post will not be deleted because I'm really really desperate and upset because of that ****load of auto-installing malwares on it ...
Thanks for reading me !

No need to root your phone. You can download the original clean rom here: https://sites.google.com/site/l1prousx800/
Save it to the root directory of your phone storage (root directory means not in any folders).
Power off the phone then hold the power and volume-up buttons at the same time to boot into recovery.
You can choose to do a clean wipe first or just update as is.
After the update, the malware should be gone.
There is more information here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/leeco-le1-pro/help/clean-rom-letv-usa-x800-t3417863

Thanks for your reply dude.
Hello Man. I spent a bit of time to figure out exactly how to do it.
Finally I got it right and executed your instructions that were simple and well explained.
AntKeyboard and search service are gone. I still had "AdClient" but I uninstalled it and it doesn't seem to be re-installed instantly.
THANKS A TON for your help because I was so desperate... No word to thank you man ! You're a genius !
I'm so grateful that you took time to help me. God bless you if you're a believer (I'm not but I thought it sounded cool).

Glad to be of help. But you should be aware that not everything is perfect with the original rom. For instance, the color mode, Hi-Fi, and mute button doesn't work. Although OTA updates are now possible, it doesn't look like anything is forthcoming from LeEco.

Well at least my phone is usable now for the things I do with it (Facebook, 9gag, SMS and a few games like hearthstone + just browsing the net casually).
I never found a point for the mute button so it's ok for me.
Hi-Fi = Using a speaker to play music ? If so , then it's a shame but non-vital option for me.
Color mode = Option to have better colors on pictures taken ? If so, it's also a shame but I'm not the kind of guy to take tons of selfies and all so ...
Still a very satisfying help you got me there.
For my next phone in a few years, I'll be sure to avoid leeco tho... Excellent performances but having to do all that kind of things to make the phone usable (without having the urge to slam it on the ground due to malwares...) is pretty irritating.
Have a good day man, and thanks again !

Hi Vargyz :
I would suggest you use this rom : http://www.leeco.re/topic/1883-x800-us-best-rom-for-x800-us-eui-55-11s-ll-better-kernel/
It's the best i tried and everything is working fine in this rom, double tap, ir blaster, colour mode, apn's etc.

Ecstatic about my Galaxy S after 1 week - having returned my iPhone 4

Hello all, I posted this on another site, but thought I should post it here too as I have overcome some of the teething problems I had when posting here previously, and am REALLY happy with this phone.
Ive flashed with Pauls Modaco ROM, and replaced the TouchWiz with LaunchPro, and am VERY happy with the speed and overall performance.
I did have a bit of a lag and a bit of a wifi connection issue, but flashed the rom again and the wifi problem disappeared, the lag went with TouchWiz.
GPS has been fine, Navigation great, so has voice searching, playback of my Divx Xvid WMV videos and Flac Ape WMA etc audio files... been loving just dragging and dropping my movies and music to the EXT SD disk, just lovely to NOT have iTunes try to control your life!!
Yahoo and Gmail push are fantastic and incredibly fast (for yahoo you MUST use the Yahoo Mail app which gives you IMAP on Yahoo!!! (yesssssss!!!!) with all its folders etc.
Recording 720p videos has been really amazing, smooth 30fps with no dropped frames, and the audio was surprisingly good too. No flash for stills, but the cam shoots well in low light and you can bluetooth share the photos with your friends too.
ABSOLUTELY bloody delighted I am, by far the best phone I have ever used, thank god I saw the light and returned my iPhone 4, though its really a very good phone, just not as good as this, with the openness, speed, flexibility and widgets!
Thanks for the community and support here,
Mark, UK.
Yes with the newer firmwares gps and lag no longer an issue, and i think launcher pro is a must for this phone.I just love the customisation possibilites with android, you really can make your phone unique and your own.
As for the hd video recording i was playing a few back through the ps3 last night and really was shocked by the clairity of them (being realistic and considering its a phone)
Mark, great testimony.
I'm just about going to eBay off my SGS and get an iPhone 4 mainly because of the serious lags and GPS faults. I'm still very keen to try out Froyo 2.2 but perhaps on a device that has better performance and GPS. As it is now I have not been able to realise some of the key reason why I came to Android - i.e., to watch flash videos and to have browsers that some reports claim is as much as 3 times faster than iPhone's. (I know, I know, I should have known that it is still running 2.1. The Optus shop assistant assured me that she had personally installed 2.2 onto SGS, and I was naive enough to take her word for it before buying)
I like to get to exactly where you are now. Would you mind giving us the links to your firmware please?

Hi Steve, no probs, but I am running 2.1 still!
From experience on ROMS for Hero and then my WinMo Touch HD before that, the best roms are based on manufacturer's release versions. I dont have any GPS problems, certainly no more than any other phone Ive had, and even my expensive, in-car Garmin gps-specific device still takes a while to get satellites sometimes! I have successfully used my phone twice so far to enter an address and do turn by turn navigation.
For my ROM, I paid a bit to Modaco last year, so that still entitles me to free downloads of their roms, the link is
http://android.modaco.com/content/s...rom-for-samsung-galaxy-s-with-online-kitchen/
You DO have to flash first to one ROM then to another, as Paul says in the instructions. For rooting, I think there are some easy instructions on this xda forum.
For the Launcher Pro, Id just search the market.
I have nothing against the iPhone (other than the design flaw and slimeball steve jobs smoke and mirrors) my wife has a 3gs with iOS4, it runs well as a phone, but IMO it is really for people who want a phone with apps that are useful to them... nothing wrong with that! For someone who wants to be closer to the cutting edge, nothing beats android. Personally, as a bit of a geek myself, I love to have a phone that works AND have an exciting phone. No other phone on the market offers ALL of what the SGS does... not even the Evo.
Mark.
ps, the Evo does have 4g but no divx xvid ape flac

Hey Mark,
I've just downloaded JG1. However, since this is my first Android phone, I have no idea what to do with it. Currently I'm having a rooted JF3 firmware. Would you mind just in a few points tell me how to install JG1 since the Modaco link assumes that it's already done?
BTW, the way I unrooted was to download an update.zip file into \sdcard, then press volume, power and home, select the update.zip item, and that's it. Is the procedure for installing JG1 similar? Do I need to rename JG1.zip as update.zip?
Thanks a million, and I look forward to sharing your joy in using this phone.

Sounds very easy. Thanks for your great help. I assume to move to the custom ROM in modaco, I do exactly the same thing again?
I'm having problem. This is what I did:
- I copied JG1.zip into sdcard, and rename it Update.
- Turn off the phone
- Press volume up+power+home until I see the Samsung logo, then let go.
- Use the volume key to go down to apply sdcard: update.zip, press home.
Here, I have these messages displayed:
#MANUAL MODE#

--Install from sdcrd...

What did I do wrong?

I don't think you're supposed to flash JG1 as an update.zip? I was under the impression that update.zip is for rooting/unrooting and custom ROMs, and not for official firmware...
You need to flash it with Odin if the update.zip method isn't working!
I can't post links since I'm a new, unverified member (grrrrr...) but go to the Galaxy S Android Development forum here at XDA, there's a {BIG FAQ Thread} {Flash/Root HOWTO}, read post #2 in that thread!

I'm not sure what's in the JG1.zip file.
What I have done is exactly what post #2 says. I don't see any step that I did being different from what it says I should do.
Still no luck with JG1 Installation. Anyone knows what the problem is?
You need to flash rom via Odin here is download link for Odin and PIT:
https://www.wuala.com/Samsung Galax...din/Odin & Bootloader(.PIT)/?key=AfzUZSU4SpKU
Download relevant firmware, in this instance JG1 which you will find at the following(you need to register first):
http://samsung-firmware.webs.com/WEBPROTECT-samsungi9000.htm
Also there you will find at the bottom flash guide in PDF. Download that and follow the instructions.
Once you have flashed firmware then you can flash custom rom.

Have you succesfully installed drivers on your pc?
I know I can use the Odin method via PC to flash the ROM, but I had chosen method B procedure B described in this post to flash instead:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7152078&postcount=2
I want to know why it was not working. Or is the post wrong in saying that you can use method B procedure B?

can anyone help (dspmanager, call recording, geotagging & custom roms

Well I have had my sgs for a couple of weeks now on the whole very happy with android can't help thinking how great my last phone (i8910) would have been with froyo though, oh well. ,Anyway so I have managed to root and lag fix a stock 2.2.1 Rom and add the voodoo sound driver thing as well as the clockworkRom bootloader. So think I'm doing ok, albeit with a couple of big mistakes. Thank god for titanium backup pro and latterly CM.
Any way i have tried to install dsp manager a couple of times via different methods and each time suffered the hardest to recover from failures both times took several hours to find the
right recovery combinations. So does anyone know why this is?
My ultimate goal is to increase volume on music playback on my Bluetooth headset so if you have a better way this would also be welcome?
Secondly I can't find a single call recording app that will record both sides when using Bluetooth headsets anyone know of anything?
Thirdly i see geotagging remains an issue on the sgs I'd like to share increase that 5x zoom pro works okay a camera app that can disable geotagging but it misses some of the better features of the native app like anti shake and smile detect etc does anyone know of a better option?
Finally the custom Rom's thing is confusing me a great deal is there a decent beginners guide that has information regarding most of the main ones and their main benefits?

[ROM] SHPONGLE v3.5 - "You think you can handle it?" [07.07.2012]

what about the German language
very very nice ROM
humm.. I think you'll have no choice of using Elelinux rom to have multi-language support like I had to do for French due to it's rom based Decked_X who is just available in English..
I have been using this ROM for a little while now and find it to be both fast and stable. A really great job by the developer 1ceb0x, for which I would like to express my thanks.
One small issue I have yet to sort out and that is one of awful keyboard lag. I use Handcent SMS for messaging and am wondering if anyone else is using this app and suffering the same problem? I haven't worked out if it is just this app, or a combination of this app and the installed keyboard yet, but if anyone else has had a similar experience that they have managed to resolve, or can suggest tweaks to try I would be grateful to hear. I really would like to stick with Handcent, if possible.
For anyone who has not tried this ROM, I would recommend they do; it really is a great everyday ROM.

As far as I know, the keyboard lag should be gone in the latest version which is 3.5. However, it was only tested using stock keyboard and stock mms app. If you are having low ram, this could be your problem (or an app is keeping your cpu at 100%) - though the first issue should not occur because the kernel is tweaked to kill apps when mem. is lower than 60 - so basically you will always have 40-50 mb free every time.
Thank you guys for your support and for using my rom, it is really a great pleasure to see how many users have it as a daily driver. Thanks again!

I am writing mainly in response to a post by buba_shrimp in the development forum (I do not have sufficient privileges to post there), but also for my own benefit, as I am seeking assistance for the same issue.
In the early days of having my Hero (stock rom) I found GPS to work flawlessly, up until passing the installation of any google maps release past 5.5.0, when bad things started to happen. I have stayed at this release ever since.
Just prior becoming Shpongled, GPS became a nightmare; tried all sorts of stuff, but nothing seemed to help. I came to the conclusion that the hardware was failing and left it as that. That was until the day that I maintained the gps config file from US to UK/European server settings and lo and behold not only did the phone lock my position lightning fast, but all the other problems vanished too.
On moving to this rom, the first thing I did was implementing my replacement gps.conf and continued to get excellent gps performance – most of the time.
The phone now seems to operate in one of two modes; it either gets a good lock in seconds and performs flawlessly, or the gps connection circle spins for and age followed usually by the phone rebooting itself (I think just as it seems to locate its position, though I’m not quite sure just).
I have posted earlier that I am getting bad keyboard lag too, but now realise that this is a hit and miss affair also, as I only get this some of the time.
Anyone have any idea as to how I can debug the phone when it is experiencing these issues, e.g. any free logging tools or other such monitoring software that may help? Or, suggestions as to things I might try? Was glad to see buba_shrimp was suffering a similar problem – not in a gloating way, in a problem-shared-is-a-problem-halved kinda way.

I know how to do this, I just don't have the experience to know what I should be looking for.
Ideally I was really hoping for, I guess, is that someone else has suffered these same issues and has a solution.
My question about usefull tools was along the lines of some sort of app that records resource usage over time, to allow for analysis of conflicts, or similar. Anything like this exist? Or is there a better way? The adb logcat is a little too low-level for me I think, unless someone can help me with pointers as to what I should be looking for.
Thanks folks.

It would need to be build from source to get german language in it. So yes, it is a great expense since it needs:
a powerful computer
time
space
i'm so sorry for not being able to provide you guys this rom in other languages. i know i have lost some of you because of this issue but i cannot do anything for it. i can build it from source in a way or the other but it will loose the great speed of decked_x base rom.

Do Shpongle ROM need swap partition on SD card??
Just a little question: what kind of partition do Shpongle ver 3.7 need on SD card??
I mean: is it necessary to have a little swap partition (60-120MB) ?
PS: version 3.7 is really strong, but I'm waiting for a next and better release

In the last release of Elelinux it is required a swap partition greater than 60 MB and an additional Ext4 partition (maybe for app2SD..??).
I know that Shpongle ROM is not Elelinux (there are differences, I suppose), but.. is there any reason for not to installing swap partition or it's just your personal experience??
Thanks..
It's just slower on every rom, based on user and dev opinions...
How can cyanogenmod and cronos have multilanguage support but not Shpongle?
Have they written the rom in every single language?

Sm-p605 now working as expected

Hi Folks,
This is just an overview about the above mentioned tablet including the probs I had and how I got them solved.
At first startup I was wondering about the sticky rolling through the screens. The typical adjustment inside the developers settings hasn't solved it.
Sometimes it Stücks completely and booted Fa do my by itself and it got worst after installing all the Samsung "Goodies". Sometimes some kind of Bootloop. A recovery reboot was necessary in including wiping of the phone.
What really sets me up was the really annoying WLAN disconnects - switching of the Cell Data doesn't really solved the prob.
Bluetooth seems to work fine just BT Keyboards randomly disconnects.
I tried a lot of Apps and configuration changes with no real help.
Finally I decided to root the Tab and put HAL 9000 on it.
The only recovery which I was able to install was TWRP - Philz I couldn't got installed.
After that the HALL 9000 worked as described in the installation guide.
The first reboot after installation a big wow now the Tab was fast no sticky scrolling apps opens fast and so on - working as expected when buying.
Some useful software we included in the Rom especially X Posed helps fine tuning the tab. Then I changed the launcher to Apex and installed a HD 3 D Theme.
This really personalises the look as you want.
Now on my tab are about 300 hundred Apps the only thing which you need to tune is in Settings for developers ( 7 times build Nr hitting )
The animation settings to 0.5.
It runs smooth all above mentioned problems are solved lucky wise you have to root it to get it perfectly working lol to sammy.
Now it is possible to connect the Apple BT Keyboard and type perfectly with no disconnects.
With this changes you don't loose SPEN or its Apps. The Knox counter will be set to 01 - but it doesn't matter to me.
So far I understand Knox it's just a safe enviroment when taking using the device as a BILD device inside a company. When rooted it MUST change the value, if not you can bring a potentially dangerous device in a security enviroment.
Sofar it should not have any impacts to the hardware warranty.
That's all sofar if any questions feel free to ask if helpful give me a thanks

Thanks for information, downloaded it about a week ago. What's the warez inside ? I thought all was OK with it.
Hopefully there will be other devs providing a rom or a kernel for the 605.
Not really sure what the issue is. And yes, there seems to be so few ROMs out there for P605
warez in HAL 9000
I checked my HAL Rom and i think I found the warez, there 3 extra Apps which are great. I think everybody who has installed it should purchase them. May be that's fair for the developers or uninstall them.
The Apps I found are :
1. Ultimate Dynamic Nav Bar pro. ( really worth the money )
2.LMT Launcher great gesture settings ( i am not using it because got another solution, but would if I had found this App first )
3. Greenify ( a battery saving solution which WORKS ).
4. Screen Recorder Pro. ( deinstalled because I don't need it )
I think buying those apps is fair and the Rom is worth it.
I really want to try this ROM but the links are gone. I wonder if the thread is going to be opened again.
I also dont mind buying the apps if I'm really going to use it.
I hope they resolve the problem soon as we only have few ROMs for P605.
Yeah why is it disabled ? There is not so much rom for 605 and one of them is banned even it is liked ... Interesting

rom news
Hi again
Beside the HAL ROM is now another rom ready for our Tab.
It's called stocky rom (stockyrom.de) it hasn't that much changes in it but I think worth trying and may be when some people giving feedback to the developer it's getting mor sophisticated.
If you guys still interested in Hal rom and going to delete/buy the warez items I got it on dropbox.
I am personally contact the stocky guys and get this rom working as wanted.

ALL THINGS NOTE 4!
INFO, NEWS, MODs, CHATTER!
COME AS YOU ARE AND PLAY BY THE RULES!
ROOT STATUS: We have obviously gained Temp Root gifted to us via KingRoot. Which comes with its own set of concerns on security, personal info, etc.. We currently have several devs working on making this "Perma-Root" We have already worked on getting rid of KingUser/KingRoot and replaced it with SuperSU. AWESOME! However with Write Protection enabled we are still unable to gain a Permanent Root Status. We lose root during a reboot which many of us know is needed by many root applications to function properly ie: XPOSED
I will be sure to update this post as soon as any changes or news comes out!
Please stay tuned! Thank You!
Alright ladies and gents! As you all know Temp Root is available through KingRoot. But that does come with its own set of risks and bugs.
Please use that at your own risk.
We have a way to get rid of KingRoot and utilize SuperSU thankfully!
If you have jumped ship from Kit Kat to Lollipop at this point root is only available on KK
Have no fear tho! Rolling back is a simple feat!
Here are your steps incase you are unaware.

3) Please backup any info on your device. No one is held responsible for your data except you!
4) Be sure all needed drivers are installed on your PC for your device
5) Fire up Odin and boot your device into download mode.
Either power down phone and once powered off press and hold Home+Vol Down+Power Button and release once it boots
or in an adb shell prompt enter "reboot download"
6) In Odin click the "AP" button and browse to the NJ5 image you downloaded and select open.
DO NOT CHECK OR UNCHECK ANY OPTIONS (AP WILL BE AUTO CHECKED ONCE YOU APPLY THE IMAGE)
Simply click start!
7) Once Odin has completed its work your phone will reboot. And yes your device will bootloop at the Verizon screen. You must pull the battery to stop this.
8) Once you re-install battery boot into Recovery (Home+Vol Up+Power)
arrow down to format data/factory reset
press power to confirm and select YES on the next screen
Once done Reboot your phone. And your BootLoop issue will no longer be.
CONGRATS! You are now back on Kit Kat and ready to root!

[Guide] Enable Air View and Air Gestures -- Thread by @Vichenec
I encourage you read this thread! If you go about installing Nova Launcher and following these steps there are a ton of features built into the settings that 1) are not enabled and 2) some of them work and some dont! SO you could easily turn on AirView and other like settings! Verified to work but just as the thread states some do now. The air gestures do function in apps such as Gallery and the like!

Your correct if you are in fact powered off and then hold your buttons. Doing it this way you start your key combination while booted up and hold it thru the reboot until you see the menu.

I'm sure everyone had noticed this, but it was a bit of a "good" shock to me. Action memo (the stand alone app) seems to be no more, and it's integrated in s note. I was and still am extremely annoyed because my old action memos, I had to "try" and find a way to export them. Now, thanks to a bright, but late light bulb, Samsung has finally made this sensible decision.
The interface is a little different than in previous versions to view your memos. Before, there was a list "button" next to the link to action button. But now you have to go to the options menu (the three dots on the right) and select the "view action memos list" option.
I noticed some stuff with screen shots also, but can't remember off the top of my head..

Yea the whole not having a physical menu button has driven me a little insane! I have the Tab S 8.4 so i was kind of prepared for the button change up but still seemed odd. Im growing accustomed to it. Maybe if its still an issue after we obtain root we can change the mapping of the physical buttons.
Added a link to a thread for the stock firmware images! Made by @hsbadr
Be sure to drop him a thank you for posting links up for us!
Were seeing the normal usual topics develop which is a good sign!
It was a little shock at first also for me, but I've actually adapted and like it better. The funny thing I realized almost immediately was that I never used that button much. So the long press to get the menu, but at the same time, the app drawer is cool..
Lol, I'm actually getting to the point I think where I don't want to root. It sounds really crazy for me, but I was talking to my lady today and telling her how smooth and much I'm enjoying this phone "just the way it is". I don't recall honestly being this satisfied in a few years.
We'll see, but I like it a ton dude! And I'm really in shock myself how much..

I couldn't agree more! To me root would purely be a nice benefit. Not so much a necessity. Of course I'd look forward to some themeing especially if we can get a rom much like Alliance. Just loaded down with customizations!
And of course getting getting rid of or freezing bloat would be nice!
Something I noticed today I've been able to get almost 2 days out of one charge. I don't get much usage while at work but today (yes it was a work day) it only lasted me about 14 hours. Big difference! Hoping the phone was just being needy and hitting up something to cause it to chew up battery. I'm going to install gsam and start paying attention to what's sucking it up.
Also has anyone gotten ballsy and tapped on the security update notification that pops up once and a while?

I concur to be honest.. And maybe I'm just getting old, but I primarily would want root would be to, like yourself, just remove apps. That's about it.. Lol.. Themes, Hmmnn, not so much anymore to be honest. Lol, really, I got a bit burned out on the 3 with roms. Honestly, if Eclipse had continued to be developed, I don't think I would have ever tried even alliance. But yes, the features are cool.
And I just posted in the battery thread, this thing is awesome! Not just for the longevity, but more important, the fast charging.. I'm probably either wishing for an in car fast charger(that would be my choice) or a second battery and external charger. Lol, just for accessories.. But I really, really do love this thing. They really did it right on this version, and I was really not excited for the regular note.
And then this thing is so damn fast that it's crazy.. Lol

No. Download mode is achieved by; holding Power/Volume down/Home buttons.

Doesn't matter if you do this through a restart or from a powered down state.
