Workaround for LTE connection issue on latest dev rom - Xiaomi Mi MIX Guides, News, & Discussion

Following my recent LTE issue and after some trial and errors, I can confirmed that the latest dev rom contains some bugs in the modem file and hence flashing the lastest stable rom's modem file will resolve this issue.
To flash simply put device in fastboot mode and then
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
*Edit reuploaded modem file from 6.12.29 instead as reported the latest stable modem file causing video lagging and sound issue

Can you please explain how to flash that file with Fastboot?

I assume you have ADB or TWRP already.
Copy NON-HLOS.bin to this folder
Just go to the folder via command prompt and copy paste below command and paste to it.
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
Hope it helps:good:

Download and install Minimal ADB and Fastboot
Download the modem file of the stable ROM and copy that file to your computer's C:\ folder
Turn off your Mi Mix
On your Mi Mix press the power button and volume-down button at the same time for 5 seconds. The device should boot into fastboot mode
Connect your phone with the USB cable to your computer
Open your computer's start menu and search for Minimal ADB and Fastboot, and click it
A command prompt will open, where you will type the following command into it and press enter:
Code:
fastboot flash modem C:\NON-HLOS.bin

I confirm LTE problems (Italy H3g) with the last ROM, solved by flashing the old modem as suggested. Thank a lot for thew workaround.

EU ROM 7.1.5 with Indonesian XL Operator.
The file uploaded before was still broken LTE for me.

Thx,
i just want to test how it works on a Mix with patched NVRAM LTE channel values. If it works like crap i'll return to .29 modem.

I was thinking of doing the same, let me know with your findings... Perhaps we need to modify the modem to enable extra bands.

Are you guys still having problem after flashing latest epic rom? 4g LTE has already been fixed there, I am using it and all works fine, speed, sound, everything is working.

No LTE 800 Mhz with 7.1.5 modem But with globeROM 7.1.5 none of the mentioned bugs until now. YouTube is perfect and the device is as smooth as always. If i'm back to 2600 MHz area i'll check again.

Awesome work!
Worked for me. No audio or lag issue. I was loosing my mind thinking why all of a sudden couldn't connect to LTE.
Thanks again!

Cannot connect to 2.4 Ghz Wifi

Hello,
I am unable to connect to any 2.4 Ghz network (tried at home, friend's, hotel's, etc.). While at home, my network will go on and off being displayed in my phone. I can select it and enter my password. Then it will say "Connecting..." but nothing will happen. After that it goes in and out of being in range even though I can be adjacent to my router.
5 Ghz works flawlessly
Bootloader is unlocked
Tried multiple JB and KK Cyanogen based ROMs and stock
I am also unable to connect to any device via bluetooth (if that helps at all, probably going to post about this separately later)
I have searched google and multiple forums. The posts nearest to my issue mention a fix for people who formatted their persist folder (I have not, plus I tried copying it anyways) and a fix using a static IP address. No luck.
If anyone has an idea or can provide a fix, I would really appreciate. I am going insane
Thank you.

From your Wi-Fi problems, sounds like you're on KK bootloader... are you? (you didn't mention in your post)
Since you're unlocked, try going back to JB bootloader and flash a JBBL based ROM and see if your problem is resolved

Sorry, yes KK bootloader. How do I go back to a JB bootloader?
Not sure if using RSD to downgrade changes the bootloader but I did try "Android 4.1.2 Blur_Version.98.30.1.XT907.Verizon.en.US" via http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2786016

Lenovo Yoga 2 1050L firmware needed / Error when installing the latest update

Hi guys,
I hope anybody can help me. I'm looking for the latest firmware for my yoga tablet 2 1050L.
It should be YT2-1050L_USR_S100255_1601131716_WW52_ROW. At least that is what the OTA message shows me on my tablet.
After softbricking my tablet (was stuck in lenovo boot logo) when I installed this OTA update (162MB), I was able to recover it with firmware S100192. I checked also for country code and set it new. When I now try to install the OTA update I get an error and can only boot the tablet again and it wants me again to update to the S100255 firmware.
I also looked in the russion lenovo forum (you can translate with google into englsh or my case geman)
http://lenovo-forums.ru/forum/395-yoga-tablet-2-10-%D0%BF%D1%80%D0%BE%D1%88%D0%B8%D0%B2%D0%BA%D0%B8/
But there is the latest firmware I can download S100192.
So I would need either the S100255 firmware to flash it from stock or anybody can give me an hint in how to solve the udpate error

Hi ionioni,
ok. what do you mean exactly? I don't want to skip it. I want to update it but it's showing error while the update process. and then when I am in Android again it wants me again to update to S100255. So I thought I could flash it with the latest stock rom S100255.
At the moment I try to flash an older stock rom like S100081 or S100225 (and then doing OTA hopefully) but whenever I try to flash it it boots into Android again when it should
C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel\Phone Flash Tool\fastboot.exe" "-S" "500M" "-s" "BaytrailABFF4CD2" "oem" "wipe" "ESP"` command

I unzipped it now directly on my USB drive (connected to my company laptop) to my external HDD and I had no issues. Only the devil knows why...???!
So after using your phone flash tool lite version 5.3.4.1 it worked now. I'm just downloading now the next OTA update over WLAN to version S100192. after that version S100255 should appear. let's see what happens Thank you so far.

Maybe this can help you:
Make sure you use the latest Phone Flash tool (lite) which was 5.3.4.1 for me. Make sure you use a USB port at your laptop PC, don't use a hub (did not work for me). And If you are not able to flash it via the DnX mode (press both Volumen buttons and power on the tab) then try using the Fastboot mode in the bootloader (volume down and power on the tab).

Hi ionioni,
I'm back with a further problem. I just tried to start teamviewer on the yoga. I get an error that the firmware may be faulty and I should check for a proper IMEI. So I put in a SIM card (which I have used in anther phone) and I'm able to unlock it with the pin. But I get no data connection and also when I try to set a new PIN for the SIM card in the security settings I enter the PIN and it says wrong PIN I have 3 more trys. but I can try it as often as I want, it does not lock the SIM card.
So what may be the problem? any ideas?
UPDATE: Ok, just checked my IMEI online and it appears to be an IPHONE IMEI??
Update 2: Under settings, network, more, mobile connection (? just know the german word for the settings) I can not choose the menu as it is deactivated and grey. I just read that the tablet may think it is in flight mode?

Do you know how we can extract it from OOS?
Sadly I don't. But I have an idea how someone might be able to... There is an app on the Play Store called Partitons Backup & Restore... If you can use the app to backup or download the modem that would be a start
@RJDTWO @ashwin007 @MasterAwesome would you guys be able to help us do this? To make a flashable zip of the OOS stock rom modem/ radio?
I think the modem is the same in both oos and cm13 guys.
Obviously something isn't playing nice software wise but I don't think this actually affects battery life. Just shows incorrect reading.
I think I have some lead on that. There are 2 ways to extract modem from oos .Since there is only one stock zip irrespective of country, so I don't think it contains modem, hence getting modem.bin may not work.
Anyway, we can extract it via below command
Code:
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p8 of=/sdcard/modem.bin bs=4096
it should put modem.bin in your internal storage.
Note I can not verify if above command is correct. Probably someone with more dev experience can confirm it.:
the flash using below command in fastboot
Code:
fastboot flash modem modem.bin

Have a backup before flashing this. If you clean flash or wipe system, it will be gone. So there are no harms. I will add link to previous post.
Amazing work! I will fastboot flash this and try.
I flashed it via Fastboot but It didn't affect the radio reception. Will try again tomorrow. The red circle is when I flashed it. Thank you for the work !
I also flashed this around 6pm then reset my battery status but so far no effect I'll wait till tomorrow to see how it is.

Yes, you are right. I had good reception for 2 hours, then I flashed latest nightly and modem, but then it was not all green line. So may be it was just a placebo effect.
Here is my further analysis -->
None of the ROM contains any modem, so if you have ever updated to 2.2.1-x, you already have the latest modem. There is no chance of getting modem overwritten unless you explicitly do that.
I checked flash script of oos and cm13 and saw that cm3 is not making any changes in radio, modem blocks.Just to check, I manually flashed individual partition from oos stock zip except system and boot, and still it did not make any difference.
It appears that it may be a face representation in MM that cell reception seems weaker (as yellow line). I have seen this on various device forums where they have mix of yellow/green line for cell reception. So unless oneplus updates modem for marshmallow, I guess it will be like this.
From my findings, there is only one modem for each variation of the one plus x. So if you've ran Oos in the past, you'll have the latest modem.
I'm not sure why but I recorded slightly better battery life than before. Maybe half an hour more SOT and a couple of hours standby.

Problems I'm facing,
1. Whenever I restart device, It starts in bootloader and then I have to press start.
2. Because of the above issue, System Updates are are not being installed.(14-4 build is installing again and again)
3. Wifi and Hotspot is not working.(cannot connect to any WiFi network and others cannot see my hotspot)

For 1) you could try:
Boot your device into the bootloader.
Connect your device to your computer
In the adb terminal, type 'fastboot oem fb_mode_clear' without the quotes. This should clear the booting to fastboot.
Reboot and test.
As for a stock June firmware, we'll have to wait for Motorola to build the firmware (and then for a way to 'acquire' it)

+1 - Thanks, 'fastboot oem fb_mode_clear' worked.
Do you know the reason behind my WiFi and hotspot issue?
Try this command to flash the Stock Rom

WiFi does not connect

After installing RR, restore the original firmware of Xiaomi Mi A1, the problem is that no longer stable wifi connection, find networks but do not connect, try everything and there is no way to connect to a Wi-Fi network.
There is someone who has happened to him this before.

I imagine that soon they will solve it, since the same thing is happening to many of them, what you can do for now is to install RR once again, since Wi-Fi works there.
same issue facing..

Please share the procedure, how to flash persist.img
Well, just find persist.img in the stock file like C:\Users\memo\Desktop\tissot_images_V9.5.9.0.ODHMIFA_8.0\images
then turn off your phone and enter into fastboot mode (down volume + power)
connect the phone to pc
the search for cmd
write : fastboot devices and if it shows number it means that is connect
then write: fastboot oem unlock (to unlock bootloader)
fastboot flash persist and grab the file and push it to the cmd
it should be end like this: C:\Users\memo>fastboot flash persist C:\Users\memo\Desktop\tissot_images_V9.5.9.0.ODHMIFA_8.0\images\persist.img
sorry if i haven't explain myself, i'm not a native english speaker.
GOOD LUCK

I tried with MetaPhoenix Kernel, and its working fine for me, one thing of this is best in the market, almost everytime 1.6Gb ram free, and stability and features are great. Thanks mate for the guide.
I do not speak English, but thanks to this page I was able to solve the problem. It's a persist.img that worked for me: D
