Stock US rom anyone? - Huawei Mediapad M3 Questions & Answers

Has a anyone received a copy of the Stock rom (update.app) yet? Waiting for it so I can bootloader unlock and dig in.
Sent from my ONEPLUS A3000 using Tapatalk

I have just ordered this tablet from China, I might need this rom in the next few days. It would be grateful if anyone can upload this rom.

As far as I know there has not been an update released for the US tablet. It's just a matter of time, I hope.
@avocadopat I would say you are better off to leave what you have on the tablet you bought and select English as your language. US software disables 5GHz wifi and no telling what else.

OTA, not full in firmware finder but......
If I put the c128b003 OTA(us version wifi?) update.app in a dload folder on the root directory and did the Vol up, vol down, power button press and it seems to update but the about screen does not reflect this. Any ideas why? Is there a way to flash the update.zip without extracting the update.app from it?

If you look at the content of the update.zip archive, you'll see that it contains a number of .patch files and update.app. These .patch files are actualy the modifications for system and other partitions (patch file name corresponds the partition). They contain only differences between the new version of firmware and your current. Moreover, these patch files can be applied only to a certain version of firmware (the one they're made for). The last question is what is the update.app made for? It is made for updating other partitions, like modem, oeminfo, etc. I think the reason for this is that patch files are made with android build system and other partitions have no relation to it, so they're built somehow else. So, if you say you succeded updating, you actually had updated only service partitions, not the system itself (or maybe you actually had updated even nothing, because we don't know how smart Huawei recovery is).

Well then, I do have the btv-w09c128 and the ota is the c128. How do you update with the full zip then?
My version now is c128b002.

Installing stock ROM from shipped-roms.com?

I went to the download page at http://shipped-roms.com/index.php?category=android&model=Vision and there are a bunch of .exe files there. My computer (Win7) was originally installed in Chinese, I have since changed it to English. BUT the installer detects Chinese somewhere in the system, and displays all of the install menus in Chinese, so I can't read it. What do I have to do to install? Is there a set of screenshots anywhere so I can follow along? Does the .exe just dump installer files on your system, or just write directly to the phone over USB?
I'm returning the phone for warranty repair as there is an area of the screen where the touch doesn't work. Anything else I should do? Do they check to see if a cooked ROM has been installed, or if they see it's stock, just proceed with the warranty? I suspect I'll get an entirely new phone.

Saw it, but the roms from the linked site are not Asian, can't use them.
The exe extracts the rom.zip and the tools to flash it (adb, fastboot) to %temp%, you could go there and flash the rom yourself, or you can just click next on the exe a bunch of times, with your phone plugged in, on fastboot usb mode.

Why do I need my phone plugged in? I don't want anything to install, I can't tell what it's doing. I just want to extract the files.
You shouldn't need your phone plugged in. Just open the exe,so it extracts to %temp%, then drag it out of the way so you can find the rom.zip

I finally got it to display in English. Here's what the installer screen was saying (that I couldn't understand as it was in Chinese):

How to proceed? I'd rather extract the files and flash using clockworkmod than use this weird installer.
well you can't flash an ruu through recovery so use the installer or find a pc10img to flash through hboot. make sure you are to flash the proper stuff or you will have a brick

[Q] Unable to reboot to Recovery

I'm unable to boot into recovery after flashing the [JB 4.2] - CleanROM 2.5 rom. The ROM has horrible performance issue and I'm unable to flash a different ROM now. I have try going to reocvery by press & hold volume up+down and power button to go into bootloader (which works) and when I go to recovery mode I get the following screen. I get the same screen when doing it with ADB (adb reboot recovery).
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks
UPDATE: I also noticed that this ROM has changed my folder structure. All the folders used to be stored in /sdcard/ directory. Now it keeps moving ALL my folders into a /sdcard/0/ and android auto populates new folders. it did it twice and now my folder and files are located in /sdcard/0/0/. Any fix to this?

LMAO!
The stock recovery, yes. You need to use goomanager or rom manager to reinstall the custom recovery. At which time you should be able to put things back together.

The ROM did not change your file structure. It is the 4.2 update that does that. Doesn't matter stock or custom ROM you are gong to get the new file structure.
Clean ROM may have killed performance for you, but you have something else going on because Clean ROM is working great for many many users.
As for your growing 0 folders you need to update your recovery to stop that from happening.

ohh i tryed it in recovery mode to update.zip
it works right now!!!
thank u very much <3
So the downgrade from B05 to B03 is so simple. Just place the B03 update.zip from http://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/development/axon-7-chinese-stock-roms-t3436817 (use Mega mirror) in an external microsd card and run update from phone's settings menu.
That's it.

Latest firmware for Chinese version - A2017

I have the Chinese version of the Axon 7, with 128gb ROM and 4gb ram. I seem to be on B07 but is there a more up-to-date version available for download?

B13 is the one i got on mine. If you enable ota, you should be able to download it. Or goto the zte website and download it from there.

Does anyone have a link - understanding chineser is a bit difficult
Go to ROMS and kernels in XDA, then Axon 7 Factory Images/Full OTAs
And click on the link to download from mega. Download b13. Unzip and copy the update.zip file to the root of your sd. Then go to updates on your phone and follow it through.
Just done it on mine and it's a massive improvement. Especially on the camera.
BIG thanks to Alom

I'm struggling to get this to work. When you open mega (via phone link) do you select download to external drive? I've tried that and when you go to unzip it just stays at 0%. If you download to phone and then to copy to SD you cannot do this either, 'phone is busy' message.
Help please I just want my phoned back to stock

I think Mega has a app that might work better on a phone -- they use a kind of a janky client. The only reason I used it for the repo is because they give 50 GB for free. I don't really trust their privacy, so I only put up stock files there and the like. You might want to try using it from a computer. You have to get the update file inside the download file anyway.
Any risk of these going wrong?
This is my current SD card after much playing about. Selecting `updates' in settings phone does not recognise an update. What I'm I doing wrong? Still says b07 is my latest build.
When I try up unzip on PC my laptop wants to download a Firefox plug in for mega. This fails when you try to download. I'm pulling my hair out guys
This is a shot of inside the unzip b13 file on SD, the earlier shot is myself copying update. Not sure if I needed to do this
Any thoughts gentleman,? Anyone got a link to b013 that is not via MEGA cloud?

I did it on my laptop. I used Chrome browser to download. Once downloaded, unzip the update.zip file to your desktop.
Then plug in your phone to your puter and copy it to your SD card - the root of your SD card.
Once copied, disconnect from your PC and go to settings, update on your phone and there should be recognition of the update.zip

That's how it's supposed to be as long as you don't save the Windows file to an attachable memory device, e.g. a flash drive. This is a special file designed for flashing. You can extract the contents normally. However, I recommend using a ZIP with the contents of 4 files to wipe the phone's partitions.
so how do i find these 4 files you mention, and how do i flash them,is there a guide, with most roms i just download a rom zip and install with twrp, why in this case are there invalid zip messages?,thanks.
this is what i see on unzipping the file on my p
this is what i see when i unzip the file,is it ok as i dont see what to flash with odin!.,there are from what i understnd 4 files i need to flash but i dont see them, can someone explaine why i dont see them?,thanks.
