Need help flashing AICP ROM - X Style (Pure) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys, can I get some help flashing the AICP ROM?
I am currently on Stock ROM. Can I just go into TWRP and flash ROM, Gapps, Reboot? Or do I need to do something more before that?
Attached is a screenshot of the phone's software/build.
Also, which gapps version are you guys flashing? Arm64 platform? Android 6 version? Which variant?
Thanks much!

I am not sure why my screenshot is not showing.
Trying to attach again.

Image attachments on XDA have been questionable recently, using imgur or similar service and embedding the link always works though.
AICP, or any other ROM, is fairly simple to flash on the Moto X... copy the ROM and Gapps ZIP to your SD card, reboot into TWRP, BACKUP YOUR EXISTING ROM TO SD CARD, then go to Wipes-Advanced and select system, caches (both), data, and for a clean flash wipe internal storage too (if you don't have an SD card, don't wipe internal storage) and swipe to wipe, when it is completed go home and Install the ROM zip first, then the Gapps ZIP, reboot and wait... first boot can take what seems like forever, as long as it gets past the Moto M logo and doesn't loop, just let it sit and be patient.

Thanks for the reply.
I am currently on Stock 5.1 ROM. Do I need to update to Marshmallow first or do anything else before flashing the latest AICP ROM?
Also, which Gapps version should I use with the AICP Rom? There are so many variants to choose from.
I am am attaching image link, hope this works.

Twrp -> Advance wipe (excluding sd card) -> Then flash the rom -> flash gapps (Arm 64 and android version 7.1.1 as per aicp latest ) its upto you which one u want to choose i prefer nano -> reboot

Actually... I would upgrade to latest stock firmware via fastboot first. Eliminate possible radio issues

Did those steps. Everything seems to be working fine.
I'll post if I run into any issues.
Now, is there anyway to remove Google contacts from my phone?
It is annoying that it pulls in contacts information from anyone I've ever communicated/emailed with once I set up my Gmail account.

Ok..I have a problem.
I had about 20GB worth of photos and videos on SD card, but I can no longer see them on the card.
And it's still showing me that there's 20GB of my 60GB card is being used, so I know they are there somewhere, but I just can't see them.
Where are they?
And NO, I did not wiped SD card during installation.
Heck, I don't even see my back up ROM in there.

Hey Guys,
I'm bringing you the exclusive mod to increase your phone's system (App) Storage from 1 GB to 1.5 GB
No More INSUFFICIENT STORAGE errors :fingers-crossed:
Just load the scatter file from the zip and flash EBR files (EBR1 & EBR2) via SPtools
No CWM Required, No Root required
Step by Step Procedure
After installing USB Drivers, Extract SP tools software to some location & Follow:

Step 3
Step 4
Click on Download button first and then connect the phone to PC (In switched off mode), flashing will start
Now, after 3-4 seconds, A green box will appear on sptools, confirming that flash successful,
now disconnect your phone and turn it on

** All the files in the internal storage will be lost. and that's about it
1.5 GB Mod Download
The system storage (Apps storage) will increase from 1 GB to 1.48 GB
Leaving 1.25 GB behind as internal storage
1.63 GB Mod Download
This'll leave 1.09 GB as internal storage and rest 1.63gb for apps.
Or Here's the 2 GB Mod, this will Make APP Storage = 1.98 GB, leaving ~ 750 MB as internal Storage.
2 GB Mod Download
Stock Storage
1.3 GB system Partition Mod for Advanced users only!
1) Flash the mod via sptools,
2) Enter custom recovery,
3) Format System (under mounts & storage), Format data, cache. Now your internal storage is totally clean, all data is gone, and OS is formatted too! So now install one.
4) You can install any rom whether custom or stock
-if installing stock rom, DO NOT USE MBR, EBR, PRELOADER files (uncheck them from sptools) else there'll be no use of flashing this mod as stock files will overwrite it.
Works on both 4.2.2 and 4.4.2 Android Systems :cyclops:
You can Check the attached Screenshots.
Leave response in comments below.
Do not flash on any other device! Your phone might get bricked

You can root it using rootmaster or kingoroot app.
@frostarun
2.5gb zip can be made but is next to useless. There'll be no internal storage left.

kingoroot will work fine. Many people have tried and rooted successfully. Other way around is to flash the super-su.zip from recovery

I installed usb drivers.... Loaded scatter file....but after clicking downld nothing happens
"No command"
I increased memory but after factory reset it shows no command

Strange internal storage issues

When installing apps the storage manager is not registering the correct size to start off with. For instance a 1.5gb app is showing as total size of maybe 59mb. Under data for the apps it shows maybe 200kb.
Now the worse part is when uninstslling apps it does not race the data for the app. In order to remove the data and get my space back I have to boot into recovery and wipe cache.
Tried removing external SD card and trying it again and it's th deer same issue.
Also when attempting to move data to SD card it doesn't seem to really move anything but takes at least 30 seconds to do it and still requires the SD in the 0hone to run the app
Does anybody know what's up here and willing to tell me?
Thanks maybe.

Ok. Finally installed TWRP on the phone and made a backup.... I could just do it from there right?
Also considering trying either your rom or cm.. I had a couple more.precautionary questions if you could help..
1. When installing Rom I have found conflicting inforation on what needs to be wiped first ... most say just data, dalvik, and cache (so factory reset option in twrp) .... some say I need to wipe system as well. Witch is it?
2. Some roms seem to include supersu with them. If I have already installed it will that be any conflict ??
3. Installing stock rom require same process right?
4. Is there any version of cm that comes with kernel allowing over clock that is safexactly to flash from my current firmware ok3..?
I'm still not too sure about doing this but I can't figure another to solve the issues I am having with this phone, I got it used and it's off of warranty anyways.
Thanks...

1. Some ROMs, like mine, have the austen wipe built into the ROM.
2. No
3. That depends on if you are using Odin or recovery
4. I don't use CM, too unstable for me.

So that means at this point you wouldn't really need to wipe before installing wicked rom anymore?
Also decided against any over clocking now, changed to performance governors and things are working great now, especially games. No hitching, we're I was getting 10fps or less I cod strike team it's now 30.. so if I install a rom it will be wicked, especially the function on it "fix external SD write" fixes my storage management issues than that alone would be great and the debloat and performance tweaks would be a great bonus.
Thanks.

Nexus 6P showing 24.1gb of usable storage when it shipped bigger

My device used to show 128gb of internal storage - with 111gb usable. But after I flashed to Android N Preview 4 with a modified boot.IMG for a decrypted storage so I could have TWRP working. It showed I only had 24.1gb usable. I already tried a factory reset, and flashing back to 6.0.1 (mtc19v), PureNexus, and other ROMs. I'm wondering how I can fix this?

Looks like you flashed the userdata.img. Type this in fastboot: fastboot format userdata
This will wipe everything from your phone. It will resize back to 128 GB.

Windows update blocked me, hopefully its not windows 10
You most likely flashed the "Userdata.img" thats included in stock Android firmaware archives. Unless you have a 32GB device, the userdata IMG does not account for storage over 32GB and if you flash it on the 64 or 128GB version, it will partiton the internal storage and only allow for you to access 32GB. I made that same mistake myself when I first got my phone. The userdata img is meant to zap the internal storage and delete all userdata on the device. Instead, just use the command "fastboot format userdata"... It will perform the same function without any loss to your overall storage space. From now on, when you flash the stock firmware make sure you steer clear of that file and instead use the command. MAKE SURE YOU BACK UP ALL OF YOUR PERSONAL FILES FIRST!! That command wipes every partition on the device!! So make sure you've saved whatever you cant afford to lose before using it. Formatting the user data is not always required when flashing roms on your device. Actually its hardly ever a requirement. Usually its used when you want to bring your phone back to the factory settings. The built in SD partition on most Android devices is isolated space. This allows you keep all of your importatnt files safe in the event that your system partition becomes corrourpt forcing you to reflash your old rom or a new one. If you need any help at all please feel free to send me a message. Hope this helps!

Hi There.
Succesfully installed. I have issues with the Gallery.. If I open it it says insufficient storage space....
Also MiXplorer shows what looks like encrypted folders in the Internal Storage section???
Any help would be appreciated.
Did you format your data partition before you flashed this?
Pretty nice
So it seems that installing and flashing Huawei devices is quite the hassle.
Issues I currently experience on this ROM:
Cannot open Gplay not opening.
Plugging in usb cable into windows or linux doesn't get recognised.
I will update with more details later today
update:
reformatted /data /system and reinstalled, no more issues!
Rom works fine, as fine as could be expected of a rooted stock rom.
Here is a script for L09 User.
Just install Rom and Data Files from start post and then this zip file.
Its untested because my tester have only L29 devices. But it should work.

Have installed and all is working great. There's only 1 issue that I'm facing. The first time I change my wallpaper on the homescreen, there are many lines that will appear on the wallpaper. Anyone facing this? The lockscreen and app drawer area is fine. Anyone can advice? I would prefer my home screen wallpaper to be clean.

So far the Rom is running great!

Should I flash the zip via TWRP?

Unable to create new folders or save anything to the internal memory

So ill try to put all the other information that's important here.
I tried flashing the Stock rom back to this phone through TWRP and I feel like I've flashed it about 8 times now. It comes up normally and I can go through the setup wizard and when I hit the home screen I tired getting Adaway. When I tried to download the apk to my phone and I try to choose a save location it keeps saying that I can't find a save location. Then I tried opening up the file manager and tried creating a new folder it says that the operation cant be performed. I have plenty of storage available on my 6T and I cant see what I'm doing wrong. I've flashed and reflashed both TWPR and the Stock ROM both Beta and official and I still run into the same issue. Is anyone able to lend a hand? Thank you in advance!
Edit: Fixed it!
