VoLTE not working - LeEco Le Max 2 Guides, News, & Discussion

the Rom [X822] Small EUI 5.9 by aurel is so smooth and working perfect,
antutu scores 145k,
better battery life,
fingerprint works faster,
but VoLTE is not working,
im unable to post in the thread so im creating this new thread for bringing notice the Rom developer
http://forum.xda-developers.com/le-max-2/development/rom-small-eui-5-9-aurel-battery-t3524531

hi
Which network operator and country?

JIO, INDIA

Lemax 2 is on supported list so should working. Of course if you switch this on your settings, must be on LTE network too. The second phone must supported too and have valid settings.

Do you really think that i dont know Lemax2 doesnt have VoLte support>?,
this post is for the rom developer please understand!

it is also enabled on my phone, but it does not work. Vodafone Italy. On other phones, such as iphone, works

About "robotic voice issue"

Hey all,
some of us suffer from the robotic voice issue and the discussion in the dev forums gets out of control, so I decided to open an own thread for this topic.
I hope this will reduce the off-topic talk in the ROM threads (which is against xda rules by the way ). Also this will maybe help the devs to find a solution eventually as they dont have to search through the 500pages in the dev forum to find any useful comments on the topic.
Further I would like to share how to live with the problem
For many users this issue is a dealbreaker for using a ROM. I personally adapted to it as those ROMs/builds without the issue are extremely poor when it comes to performance and especially battery life for me. The current version of the device tree massively improves those too aspects at cost of bringing the robotic voice issue, which is good so, as the issue only affects a few and it can be easily worked-around.
What you can do to work-around the issue:
turn network mode to 2G
Go to Settings => Cellular networks => Preferred network type => 2G
Of course this means that your mobile internet will be way slower. All background service will run without any problems. Only when you for example stream music or videos online or maybe want to use the browser (in fact, therefore it wouldnt even really be necessary) you would have to switch to 3G/4G.
I have the robotic voice issue on every outgoing call when on 3G/4G and never had the problem on 2G. So this is a very stable workaround :good:
Also I have found an app called "Toggle Network Type 5.0" PlayStore - xda
It requires root but using a custom ROM that shouldnt be a deal-breaker. With this app, you can create an widget that toggles between network modes that you can select. So for example to toggle between 2G and 3G/4G
That means it is only one tap on a widget from ready to take a call to highspeed mobile internet :fingers-crossed:
use dual-boot
I'mTheMr released a dualboot app for our device G800F xda-thread. I am using it quite a while now and never had any problems with it. The ROMs are installed to internal storage. Having a device with 12gb internal storage this is absolutely no problem. You can access files, photos etc. from all ROMs.
So you have one ROM (works with rooted stock ROM as well!!!) that you can rely on, say your work partition and when you want to use a custom ROM with all its fancy features and the robotic voice issue is atm no deal-breaker you just choose your secondary in the app and reboot =)
I really hope that one of the devs will take a deeper look into that issue sooner or later. I can put up with it, but getting rid of this problem once and for all would of course be way nicer.
What we know about the issue (or think to know :silly: ):
As I said before it is connected to the latest changes in the device tree by hennymcc, which switched the phone libs. Considering that it doesnt appear on 2G, one can assume that it is the part that controls the mobile data / voLTE. That also means that basically every new ROM has the same bug because they all share hennymcc's device tree.
The ROMs that have the robotic voice issue are:
CM 13 (there are builds that dont have it, but I am speaking of the latest build)
Resurrection Remix
Tesla
PAC-ROM 5
ROMs that dont have the robotic voice issue:
Bliss ROM (latest build used the older version of device tree)
CM 12.1
I have this issue with every outgoing call others only calling specific numbers/providers and most of the users dont have the problem at all. So, it could be related to the provider one uses or more precisely the frequencies your provider uses.
And thats about all information I can provide to the topic. Feel free to add things that I forgot to mention or just dont know and when someone wants to have any specific logs just tell what you need and I am sure there will come a lot then I will of course add a call log with and without robotic voice (2g/3g) but probably not today.
PS: Please excuse the noob language used here and there, I am obviously no dev

[HELP] Jio 4g. Horrible Connection.

The data connection on my phone goes away after every few mins. It's very unstable. Also all of a sudden there's no VOLTE. I've tried all APN methods. I was previously on Mokee, and the problem started. I went back to miui, the problem was solved for the evening. But it started again.
If anyone has any solution. Please help. I cant even call using 4gVoice app. I want a permanent solution .
All help is appreciated. Thanks in Advance!
It's jio's problem
Hopefully will get resolved till march

The sim worked fine on k6 power.
I solved it by going back to miui and then flashing mokee.
Yet, it's surprising that it happens so randomly.
Probably something to do with default APN.

Even I'm facing the same problem with my Redmi 3s prime. It happened with resurrection remix rom and I flashed miui again. But didn't work. I tried different methods, but none worked. One of my friend said that jio by default takes band 5 for better coverage which trades-off with connection speed(low internet speed). One way is, to switch the band from 5 to 3 or 40, which might improve speed. This can be done in something called "service mode" in the phone. He had LG G3 and used some secret key in phone dialler to access service mode. That key however didn't work with Redmi 3s prime. I'm still searching for one.

Thanks for the reply.
Though it's more about VOLTE, it's not working. Even if it does work with a certain rom, it goes away after a few reboots.
FYI: I don't have fluctuating connection anymore.
Though I really wish that there was a proper solution for VOLTE

But I do need volte.
For now I'm on the latest LOS, and everything is working fine for now.
A small tip to anyone reading this, never greenify any Qualcomm, and codeaurora service.

Though, for now, the problem is solved.
I'm on the latest lineage OS, and have hardly faced signal drops. Volte too seems to be working fine now.
Miui seems to lock our bands at 800mhz which hinders the net speed, switching to 3g/2g in low network areas, to maximize network coverage.
That can be tackled, if you use an app called 'network signal guru' , to lock the bands to a higher frequency, for preference to Internet. Requires root though.
Hope that helps you.

[N9007] Modem problem with 3G/H/H+ switching

Hi!
My device is Samsung Galaxy Note 3 N9007 (Australia version OPS) and I've recently flashed 'new' firmware from sammobile.com to update my modem, bootloader etc. Everything went fine but problem with 3G/H/H+ occured. From some threads here and some from reddit I concluded that this phenomenon with switching between those three is called Fast Dormancy and that isn't bad thing and it should work great. BUT. I doesn't work at all. While switching between 3G and H+ there is no mobile data transfer which is so annoying. On H+ it works great, but when switched to 3G it doesn't. I live in Poland not Australia so I have diffrent bands for 3g etc but on old modem everything was ok, Fast dormancy didn't occured. So I restored old modem and restore old ROM which is MagmaNX but this problem still occured! Even on old modem. So I've done some research again I tried to disable Fast Dormancy with root, I've tried to disable it through service codes 9900 9090 4636 301279. Nothing helped. Best thing is that on LTE it works great, but with LTE on I can see my battery crying.
So I'm asking you, dear Users of xda Developers ( because you can do miracles ) IS there any posibility to get it back going ?
PS. I know its strange that I have model N9007 rather than N9005 but it happend and I couldn't do anything about it (I've got tricked on ebay, sadly)
Here are few screenshots about my phone. If you want some more info just let me know. @bump
I have found a soulution.

Is it possible to change modem ?

I am having bad signal all day long wherever I am. I wonder if i can change modem to see if there is any improvment ? I am using XT1642 with " M8952_70030.25.03.62.02R " baseband version . I want to change modem to get better signal ? or is there any thing i can do to improve my signal rather than changing lte to 3g ?
No, you cannot and you should not play with it.
Your attempts to play with modem will give you more troubles (SIM not working, IMEI lost, etc, also a cause of losing fingerprint sensor)
If you search in other threads, if modem is corrupted/changed, then they have such problems and they are unable to get original baseband back..
So keep it as it is.. that is something that Motorola gives updates for it.. you don't touch it..
thank you for your comment but I want to see my options cuz with this signal quality I cant use my phone at all mobile standby drain bad phone calls etc.
That's something you need to ask to your network provider.
Best will be if you ask your friends/family near your area for which network they use and how is the performance in that area and choose another network..
From ROM side, it can be 'ril' issue, but most of nougat roms and stock rom are best without any ril issues, can't say about oreo.
Nothing else you can do for this issue...
My sisters phone has name signal quality with mine in terms of dbm criteria yet when I looked at her battery stats I saw that she has no battery drain caused by mobile standby that interesting.
ps: she uses samsung galaxy j7 exynos variant

What custom rom has the best network connectivity?

Hi,
The network connectivity on stock rom is definitely very good, especially when you are moving from place to place(i.e not sitting at one place all the time which has decent connectivity). The data/voice connectivity, making best use of dual sim etc etc are very good. I guess Asus is sacrificing battery to achieve that(there is a relatively high standby drain on stock rom), but I think it is worth it. But, the custom roms I used so far did not appear to be on par with stock rom in this area(but the battery life is pretty good though).
So, any custom roms with good network connectivity? (preferably with dual 4g/volte), I prefer not to root and depend upon external kernels/modules though. I keep missing OTPs(or delayed OTPs), poor voice and data connectivity, WIFI voice calling is not that good either. I was hoping I don't have to switch back to stock rom.
Thanks in advance.

For pie I would suggest LOS 16 and for Q try PixelExperience rom.
These both are decent and stable roms with no bugs and stock experience. Minimal roms with no customisation.

Thank you. Tried Los 16(official), did not appear to have good connectivity(I think it is still in initial phase, might get better with time, I'll give it a try again). I have yet to try PixelExperience Q.
I just realized that there is this rom called - stockrom mod. I believe it is developed on top of stock rom, not sure, but I'll give it a try.

Yeah, that's the stock rom with some tweaks. You might find it usefull.
I have not noticed any significant difference in network connectivity and speed. The signal bar in Los pie may may give you a false impression of low signal strength. If you check under sim status its pretty much same with all. And yes i am saying this after using stock rom, Los pie abd pixel experience Q.
Okay, the problem appears to be in stock rom too (I think it is pie only, i think it was fine in oreo), you can find several posts in zentalk forums too complaining same apparently, asus doesn't give a damn. I confirmed there is something wrong with either device (hardware) or software (All pie roms), by switching sim cards to different phones. They all showed no problems.
There is a remedy for this - lock the lte bands., it works!!, at least for most of the cases, i myself saw the effect immediately. I use dual Sim (airtel and jio).
But you need to root the device. Root your device snd install network signal guru. Click "lock bands" from settings, click lte, you'll see bunch of bands - B1, B3, B5.... Find the bands your data sim runs on (you can use this link - https://www.datareign.com/4g-circles-in-india.html/amp), by trial and error find the bands which give you better speed/reliability.
I use below configuration for good data reliability (to play pubg) and moderate speed on data sim(jio) , without having to loose call connectivity on airtel sim (I use it for calls and secondary data)
B5(jio), B1, B8(airtel)
I am not exactly on reasoning behind this, but I just tried not use bands which are common for both Sims, i think that is why i kept loosing call connectivity on airtel sim. A common band might have given good data on one sim but ended up giving bad call connectivity on the other, and vice versa.
