Cyanogen Mod will work as it is... no effect on Cyanogen Mod

People need to stop thinking that the shutting down of Cyanogen will effect anything... at most, all the CyanogenMod ports will become LineageOS ports.

(DEV) Cyanogen Mod Development

I am aware that there hasn't been much talk about porting over the lovely CM to our DHD's and i have decided to create this thread as a 'one-stop-shop' for all CM related info to our DHD's. If a dev comes forward and states they would like to start porting over CM that would be awesome, (and yes i would do it myself but im 17 have A2's and therefore don't have the time or resources)! I plan to keep this thread regularly updated and i hope that some advancements are made in this area. Feel free to brainstorm, make suggestions etc in the thread but please try to keep on topic.
Thanks
Is there any Development coming soon from you or someone else on this thread? If not..I will move it to General since there is no ROM, software or actual development going on.
Please PM me.

i beleive the cyanogen mod team will release for this device.
they uploaded a kernel based on the ace and tweaks for the vision added to it so it was 1 kernel fits all.
so its clear intentions are to produce roms for both. but first we need custom recovery.
if you want link i will try provide

Yes I was aware cyanogen used the Ace kernel for his vision 'bacon bits' but i was under the impression this was done purely due to us having a later kernel version. As i understand cyanogen has a G2 and hasnt really mentioned the DHD himself. However your are right in saying im sure someone in the team will dev CM. Yes the clockwork recovery image would definitely be stage 1, if someone could compile it ASAP it would definitely kick start development for our DHD.

We need AOSP!!!

That's it!! True AOSP!
Bubby is working on it.

I think ...he meant aosp as on cynogenmod not just bare bones froyo rom with aosp theme
We need... to merge this with the CyanogenMod thread, with Bub's AOSP thread or move it to gerneral
Please post in general, development is for developers.

[Q] No Roms?

Isnt this phone wide open now for making Roms?
I cant make my own ROM, but I really love to test differents Roms.
I understand your enthusiasm, I too await improved software to really show off this devices capabilities. But if you look around the threads you will see that there are some talented people working on the development of recovery methods for the Arc and also some people working on Cyanogen ROM development, so it is only a matter of time; be patient my young jedi...
Well, I just thougth that all problems with X10 and not cracking the bootloader.
Now everything is open? Or have I misunderstood something?
There is no recovery partition on the Arc in which to install recovery software (such as clockwork mod) so although chefs can cook new ROMs I believe they would have to be re-installed with every update (someone may want to confirm this). As I said above there is a thread for Cyanogen ROM development so it would be worth keeping an eye on that

OMG...
CyanogenMod is full name of standalone ROM, not Mod for Cyanogen ROM.
I'm porting that ROM from Desire HD.
And we thank you for that Blagus

[Q] No Oxygen based Custom ROM Development.

Why are not we seeing Oxygen OS based custom ROM development like those seen for Touchwiz etc? Till the time stable CM comes out for OP2, Oxygen isn't that bad. With xposed you can get enough features of CM. But the one thing where Oxygen lacks is that it doesn't have all the commits for proper functionality of RRO layers themes. May be developers can add those commits.

Still this does not answer the main question. Why there are no Oxygen based Roms? There are bunch of ToutchWiz or Sense based roms and they are really great, in some cases even better then CM,AOSP,AOKP .. like i had HTC One X, every Sense ROM had better camera performance and even battery life, sound quallity and so.. Like Android Revolution HD.

Because there are no oxygenos sources out there.
They've released only kernel sources, not ROM sources, like most OEMs do.

They might be ported ROMs, not ROMs built from source.

OXYGEN OS IS CLOSED SOURCE! GOOGLE IT, rather than start a thread.
I think those Samsung and sense roms are "kitchen" roms someone modified from stock firmware images, oneoplus hasn't release firmware images

Hello, most developers must know by know that ParanoidAndroid have open-sourced all elements. Is anyone thinking in developing aospa for Land?
AOSPA
Any way we could help?

Only a MOD can delete posts, I don't know how to summon them, but don't bother, the post will be deleted soon enough.
Not a bad request really... PA has a well established (if albeit slightly disagreeable to some) discipline at building their features while balancing to not overkill with gimmicks. Even better if there's a willing dev/team to step up and become an official maintainer.

Just flash RR N ROM it has all paranoid Android stuff like latest Pie , accidental touch , get PA browser from APKMirror and walls from web, flash magisk for systemless root . Only PA theme engine is missing , but it doesn't matter as RR has full OMS theme support.

Can't beat "upstream" when it comes to said features' fixes/updates though, that's the key difference. That being said, right now the teams or individual devs/maintainers that we have in the ROMs/kernels' section are already saddled with more than 1 projects respectively so yeah probably asking for too much.
