(DEV) Cyanogen Mod Development - Desire HD General

I am aware that there hasn't been much talk about porting over the lovely CM to our DHD's and i have decided to create this thread as a 'one-stop-shop' for all CM related info to our DHD's. If a dev comes forward and states they would like to start porting over CM that would be awesome, (and yes i would do it myself but im 17 have A2's and therefore don't have the time or resources)! I plan to keep this thread regularly updated and i hope that some advancements are made in this area. Feel free to brainstorm, make suggestions etc in the thread but please try to keep on topic.
Thanks

Is there any Development coming soon from you or someone else on this thread? If not..I will move it to General since there is no ROM, software or actual development going on.
Please PM me.
Regards,
M_T_M

i beleive the cyanogen mod team will release for this device.
they uploaded a kernel based on the ace and tweaks for the vision added to it so it was 1 kernel fits all.
so its clear intentions are to produce roms for both. but first we need custom recovery.
if you want link i will try provide

Yes I was aware cyanogen used the Ace kernel for his vision 'bacon bits' but i was under the impression this was done purely due to us having a later kernel version. As i understand cyanogen has a G2 and hasnt really mentioned the DHD himself. However your are right in saying im sure someone in the team will dev CM. Yes the clockwork recovery image would definitely be stage 1, if someone could compile it ASAP it would definitely kick start development for our DHD.

Regarding feedback for custom roms

Since I cannot post in the development section, I will post this here.
I've been crawling the forums for some time now and I really appreciate kyrillos and Lestatios custom roms.
You guys are doing a really good job.
But one request for all the people active in the respected custom roms' threads:
Please stop spamming requests about what app shound be included in the rom and what launcher and so on...
Both Kyrillos and Lestat seem to tend trying to incorporate all suggestions that one raises in the threats.
Especially now, that the new froyo sources are available there are more important things to be done for our "rom heros".
incorporating "useless" apps to please 2 people just bloats the custom rom and keeps the devs from creating custom roms that are really "custom" on a much lower level, instead of just random pre-installed-app roms.
Kyrillos and Lestat: You need to be more arrogant!
You should be straight then it comes to developing your custom roms!

Thats a caring, yet stead-fast Developer for you..!!! Great response Lestat, keep up your good work...!! We all love your ROMs...!!
Right,
if i want bloatware on my android i might as well install m$ office.
Beter to concentrate efforts on building a lean mean android machine.
Theres more than enough apps in the market for users to chose from.
Valid Question
I have the same issue, can't post in development and hate those spammers. But here's a valid question:
Now that there is a clean XXJLP on the lose, is it still better to install Krillios ROM or Lestagious ROM or to go with the new and shiny JPL?

[Q] No Roms?

Isnt this phone wide open now for making Roms?
I cant make my own ROM, but I really love to test differents Roms.
I understand your enthusiasm, I too await improved software to really show off this devices capabilities. But if you look around the threads you will see that there are some talented people working on the development of recovery methods for the Arc and also some people working on Cyanogen ROM development, so it is only a matter of time; be patient my young jedi...
Well, I just thougth that all problems with X10 and not cracking the bootloader.
Now everything is open? Or have I misunderstood something?
There is no recovery partition on the Arc in which to install recovery software (such as clockwork mod) so although chefs can cook new ROMs I believe they would have to be re-installed with every update (someone may want to confirm this). As I said above there is a thread for Cyanogen ROM development so it would be worth keeping an eye on that

CyanogenMod is full name of standalone ROM, not Mod for Cyanogen ROM.
I'm porting that ROM from Desire HD.

Hey all. Been a while since my last release of anything, which was sense based, but I really wanted to start learning android and have a better perspective of it. I decided to dig a bit more into compiling android. Started horsing around with github and learned to start compiling my own builds from aosp wih the help from cmsrc, evervolv, and a few others githubs. Since the release of gingerbread to aosp, i moved away from sense. There are things that i do miss about sense, but the usability of the phone without it is just unmatched imho. Many people use or have used cyanogenmod. IMHO is a great open source project that has some of the best devs out there. I have always been more into the 'vanilla' look opposed to the themed and aftermarket. Recently i have been compiling gingerbread for the evo and mt4g and have had nothing but the best reviews. Basically the reason why i am here. Wondering if there was any interest in a few of my builds. Main reason from moving away from CM6/7 (cyanogenmod), ADW launcher and the extra added bloat(sorry) and themes. Battery life will always be one of my main concerns. Everything should work!

1.3 build is based off 2.3.7. (Thanks cm team) and cm kernel 2.6.35.7 (thanks cm team).
1.2.1 build is based off 2.3.4. (Thanks cm team) and cm kernel 2.6.35.7 (thanks cm team).

ALL CREDIT GOES TO THE DEVELOPERS WHO CREATED THESE ROMS!!! I take no credit for any of these!
there's already a list of all the ROMS out there, it's called the development forum.
also, you shouldn't list P-roms as they're deprecated, and will cause more confusion than help. (*cough*gingerblur*cough*)
I wanted to consolidate them because some are deep in the forums and they are good ROM's. But thank you for your input.
P.s. Some still like blur as I have seen their posts and that is why someone made the "PureBlur" ROM, FYI....

you should check out the wiki, which just so happens to be a sticky in the development section.
it has a list of ROMs in it already.
also, there's a difference between 'blur' and p-roms, which are what we used before we had an unlocked bootloader.
blur is the skin Motorola put on Android for our devices, p-roms are pseudo-roms that go around a bootloader.
some just have to TROLL...
And NO, the list does not have all of them... You should look again

so edit the list? it's a WIKI, it's supported by the COMMUNITY... i wasn't trolling, i was trying INFORM you about a place that a list actually GOES, so there isn't so much clutter around here.
i also informed you that there's a difference between Blur and P-roms, which you obviously didn't know. stop being so defensive. before you lash out at others, maybe you should realize that some people are trying to help you and you're just to bull-headed that you end up trolling yourself by refusing their help?
If you think about it...that list is pretty much 3 roms. You have Blur, AOSP, and CM7
Please keep things under control. ROM lists are allowed, even if there's one in the Wiki.

I have asked this question in the forum but no one seems to be interested in replying....maybe someone with enough experience points can post this in the developer section on my behalf.
I am looking for the Yin Yang 1.1 ROM and the Multiupload site is currently down (has been for the last 3 days) and I can't get to the download. I tried posting in the developer section but couldn't due to insufficient points
Does anyone have it and can you post it to another download site?
Thanks,

So let's see. I will carry on my side of the work but just posted here so others also know and maybe generate something useful for the whole community
