Tried flashing stock ROM- stuck in bootloop. Error message: unknown volume /sbfs - Samsung Galaxy J5 Questions & Answers

Hi,
Hope someone can help. I have a J-500FN, bought used worked fine for a couple weeks, then started having issues with apps closing and system processes closing. Tried factory reset. Worked ok for about a day, then it just crashed completely. Read up, and decided I needed to flash a stock ROM. Went through the whole process, seemed successful, but it got stuck in bootloop. I saw doing a cache wipe/data wipe might fix that, so I tried that. During wipe process, I got an error message:
E: unknown volume for path [/sbfs]
E: unknown volume "/sbfs"
The only solution I found for the issue involved installing sidesync, but since I don't know how to install it on my phone when I can't get past the recovery screen.
Thanks for anyhelp!

Error: unfortunately the process com.android.systemui has stopped (4.4.2)

Hi to everyone and thank you in advance for your time and expertise.
When I press the "HOME" button at the centre I get this error: unfortunately the process com.android.systemui has stopped (clock is off by 12 hours, too). The error does not appear in other circumstances.
Following advice on XDA I rebooted in recovery and I did a cache wipe/format.
The phone got stuck (2 hours) on formatting cache.
I removed the battery and restarted but when I press the "HOME" button the error "unfortunately the process com.android.systemui has stopped" was still present.
I rebooted in recovery, again, but found that I had a new error: "cannot mount(open) /cache/recovery"
I followed yet another thread on XDA ("cannot mount(open) /cache/recovery"), rebooted in recovery, again, but this time I wiped the dalvik cache.
I rebooted but when I pressed the "HOME" button, again, the error "unfortunately the process com.android.systemui has stopped" was still present.
I rebooted in recovery again (this time there was no error "cannot mount(open) /cache/recovery") and I wiped/formatted the cache.
This time the phone did not get stuck and formatting of cache completed succesfully.
When I rebooted I got the message "Android is upgrading" and a list of 270 apps were "upgrading".
When the phone restarted and I pressed the "HOME" button, the error "unfortunately the process com.android.systemui has stopped" was still present.
Please note that if I do not press the centre "HOME" button, the error does not appear.
Can anyone please help me resolve the Error: unfortunately the process com.android.systemui has stopped"? I do not want to format to factory setting. The phone was rooted by a friend 3 years ago and he now left the country and I am completely ignorant about android in general and rooting etc... so I am afraid to format to factory settings and, please, use simple step by step instructions with easy language...
Again, thank you in advance for your time/expertise.

Edit 1
After posting this help request, I continued to search and I found this: http://android.stackexchange.com/que...s-stopped-on-g. I uninstalled Google App updates, I rebooted the phone, pressed the centre "HOME" button and the error did not come up. I then rebooted the phone again, and this time the phone started to update Google Services and Google automatically. I then pressed the centre "HOME" button, again, to check and, again, everything worked fine. I decided to try to actually used google (search), and this time the error came back, once more.
So it seems that the problem is connected to using Google after the upadetes. Any ideas how to fix the error?

Edit 2
Temporarily, I disabled < Google Apps > update and this fixed the problem but, of course this is not a permanent solution and I need to fix Android 4.4.2 so that it will not give me that error if I update < Google Apps >.

LG D290n stuck in Factory Reset Processing... after Installation of TWRP

The phone is an LG L Fino (D290n).
I tried to install TWRP following the instructions in https://forum.xda-developers.com/d290n/development/recovery-twrp-recovery-lg-l-fino-t3308436.
Copying of the two files went ok without error message. Shutdown of the phone also ok.
But booting of the phone into recovery mode fails.
The phone is now stuck in the 'Factory Reset Processing...' state and never ends.
To get it running again I have to remove the battery.
The Factory Reset from the OS also does not work any more, which means I cannot reset it.
I can still access the phone with adb, but switching to su fails without error message.
Any hints, suggestions, etc.?
Thanks and best regards

A5 (2016) Stuck on Boot-screen (Samsung Logo) after Software Upgrade

Hi guys I kindly require your assistance concerning my Samsung A5 2016 A510F, device was running android 5.1.1 before I updated to android 7.0. Here's the reason why I updated, device was acting shaggy it would suddenly close apps during operation. for an example with error "messaging has stopped working" would close most of the apps with the same error or suddenly restarts itself especially when the battery is less than 50%.
So I then attempted to do OTA update but failed to install "error, invalid file" so I went the Odin way, Downloaded stock firmware and flashed via Odin, everything went smooth until reached the "apps optimization 40 of 40" stacked there for about 30 minutes until i decided to restart the device, upon restart the device no longer went pass the Samsung logo stacked there.
Here's what I tried to resolve the issue:
- Cleared cache
- Factory reset
On recovery screen i noticed an error about "e: failed to mount partition" I tried almost every solution I came across to on Google with no luck. I then tried flashing to this custom rom https://forum.xda-developers.com/samsung-a-series/development/rom-resurrection-remix-rr-v6-unofficial-t3765542
Installed successfully but gets stuck on "checking for software update" I reinstalled the custom ROM again but this time without the GAPPS device booted successfully to home screen, went back to TRWP this time installed the GAPPS rebooted, it went successful, however device is unusable it keeps popping error "google play services closed" every 2 seconds.
Please help, is my phone officially dead I need clarity. Your assistance will be highly appreciated thanks in advance

How to fix "Encryption unsuccessful" and bootloop issue on Andriod 8.1?

Hi
My Nexus 6p boot looped and is showing "Encryption unsuccessful" error with a RESET PHONE button. Resetting the phone is not helping and I shows the same "Encryption unsuccessful" error again.
Device is unlocked and I am able to access bootloader and recovery. Sometimes it just bootloops however sometimes "Encryption unsuccessful" shows up after boot.
I am able to flash twrp etc. I tried flashing stock andriod but its still the same.
This should be a simple thing to solve right. Any suggestions?
Thanks

You could flash elementalX and see if turning off encryption helps. But your best bet is to wipe everything including internal storage. Wiping internal storage has always corrected my major issues. Be warned that this will erase everything so back up any pictures, downloads, documents etc. You can access internal storage though tarp to back up on computer or usb drive with OTG cable.
Applying the bootloop fix and disabling the 4 cores did the trick for me!

'System UI isn't responding' and 'Process system isn't responding' w/ restarts

(Moved from general discussion)
Hey all,
I've run into a bit of a pickle..
I replaced the screen on my S8 (SM-G950U) and after booting, it immediately gives 'System UI isn't responding' and/or 'Process system isn't responding'.
Shortly after (1-3 minutes) the phone will reboot. The errors may appear 1-2 more times before rebooting.
A bit of info:
Model: SM-G950U
OS: G950USQU4CRE9
Steps taken:
Clearing cache does nothing.
Factory reset via recovery mode has no change.
Flashing stock ROM (same version) with ODIN does nothing either.
Before restoring I was able to go in and see the RAM was reporting what I assume is normal (~30% usage)
Also the front camera was no longer working, but I've replaced that as well and haven't had the phone on for long enough to get through the initial setup to test.
Anyone have a potential solution / suggestion? Any and all help is appreciated. Thanks!
Edit:
It might also be worth noting that the shutdowns only happen after booting. There's no issue when entering recovery / download mode.
Havr you tried safe mode?
I know this is an old thread but hoping to get some guidance. I am facing the exact same issue on my at&t s8+ snapdragon as mentioned above. The device is unrooted and was with stock oreo rom. suddenly started showing either "system iu isn't responding" or "process system isn't responding". Later the device started hanging and kept restarting. It restarts from samsung logo instead of the device model name unless force restarted. This cycle keeps happening. I am able to access download mode and recovery without any problem. recovery initially shows "installing update" followed by "no command" but then works normally. The device doesn't power off even from recovery, it keeps rebooting. I have tried (1) cache wipe (2) factory reset from recovery (3) safe mode (4) installed stock rom without problem (5) installed latest stock s8+ unlocked xas pie rom without problem (6) installed latest stock s8+ sprint version pie rom without problem but i am unable to even end the initial device setup as the device keeps hanging with these errors and restarts. Any ideas would be appreciated.
