Lost data trying to Install LeeDroids Nougat - Verizon HTC 10 Questions & Answers

I was on Santod040's Perfume Port 1.96.617.20 8.0_g CL801953 release-keys with the 1.85.605.8 firmware. Backed up everything in TWRP. Downloaded LeeDroids latest stable version then formatted my SD card in TWRP. Then installed LeeDroid unencrypted with MM firmware. Had no data, so i then restored my backup. to Perfume and now i get no data still.
Prefered Network is LTE/CDMA
APN is set to Verizon Internet
Not sure what else it could be

Tried Global and I wiped the radio then reflashed new radio and latest MM firmware.
The weird thing that worked was re formatted my SD card again then installed LeeDroids MM Rom Encyrpted. and then i got data back. Re formatted SD then installed Nougat switched to global and now i'm golden.
Thanks for suggestions though

Where did you find leedroids nougat ROM? I'm not seeing it in the ROM forum?

Appreciate this heads up!
Thought I booked it, but luckily didn't.
MM firmware. Multirom.
stock VZW MM ROM, AOKP MM ROM and Leedroid N ROM. All working great, just no VoLTE or Wi-Fi calling on N ROM.

yea, i wiped radios, ruu'd.. all of the things. I couldnt get any advanced service back, new sim, ruu, radio wipe and i was good to go. My thought on it is, if people want to switch CID, install stock nougat, turn advanced calling off prior, i think it will make life easier in the long run

Good thinking. ATM, it may be worth the trouble (depending on how long Verizon will be :laugh since the only thing that really are giving up is HD Calling, and I haven't personally confirmed that I have it working on my current setup anyway. Honestly though, I am very happy where I am right now, N is running great and a reboot brings my to stock ROM if in a quick pinch thanks to multirom (how is this the first device I've used this on:silly

no service with gpe roms

I've been messing around with gpe roms since safestrap was released and yesterday I started having a problem. when I rebooted my phone I lost service. I've been using the same roms. deleted the rom slot and reflashed everything and still having the problem. I don't understand what's going on because this wasn't happening a few days ago
edit: on reboot my lockscreen says: roaming indicator off. and in settings under mobile networks, access points is missing. there's no apn settings and no option to add any

Which GPE rom have you flashed? 4.2.2 or 4.3? did you flash your kernel after you flashed the ROM?
If you read the OP it says to do so, this typically fixes cell service and wifi issues.

I've flashed quite a few. both here in the att forum and virginrom from tmobile. they all worked fine up until a few days ago. yes they are 4.2.2 and yes I flashed the mf3 modules.
btw, this isn't happening when I flash a stock touchwiz rom. running shostock right now with no problems

From my understanding, SafeStrap only supports TouchWiz roms and that's why you would or would not be seeing these problems.

Then you would know that as of now there won't be a fix for these issues you're having on non-tw roms using SafeStrap. I'm now confused on why you've even posted at all if you had known that.

You're talking about two different things here now - if you've cleared everything correctly, including dalvik cache, flashed your rom and the kernel then it should be fine. If it's not, I would find another download of your GPE 4.2.2 rom and ensure it's not your ROM that's causing problems. Just because there aren't immediate problems, doesn't mean problems can't occur later on - as you've noticed.
Or perhaps try all of the appropriate steps on another ROM slot for troubleshooting purposes.

I've done all that. I've deleted and recreated the rom slot and flashed 4 different gpe roms to see if it was a certain rom causing the problem but no it was all of them.. that's why I'm so confused because these roms worked perfectly up until a few days ago. and like I said I just flashed shostock last night and I haven't had the problem. when you say flash my kernel you're talking about the mf3 zip that hashcode provided correct?

Yes, that's correct. If you've done that - then it makes no sense. Seems you have done it all in order, accordingly. Hopefully Shostock doesn't fail on you also.

exactly! it makes no sense! I'm hoping someone can help out though..
with virginrom, there was a at&t csc file to flash after the rom. other than apn settings what is this file for?

I'm not familiar with the Virginrom, but I know that CSC files are written scripts, usually for automation. They work with with programs that support OLE. Seeing that it was carrier specific, I'd think that was used along the lines of APN settings within the ROM to some degree.

That's bizarre. I would also suggest manually uninstalling SafeStrap and re-installing it but your Shostock hasn't had any problems yet. I couldn't think of anything else that would be posing a problem.

Hey guys,
Android 7.1.1 factory image for shamu is live now

Same bootloader, but a new radio
ADB sifeloaded the OTA update and lost night mode.
Not getting it back with night mode enabler. But 7.1.1 wohoo!
Boot image is the same? So basically we can just flash the system, radio. If we are on 7.0?
I would reflash, what is supposed to be different here?
:good:
:fingers-crossed:
If we don't want to lose data. Or encrypt the phone in the past I just flashed the system IMG abf the radio
I have not flashed yet. I will report back tomorrow when i flash it.
I'm on NItrogen 7.1.1 will this new update give me anything different from the obvious basics and Nitrogen ROM can't? I'm just wondering if I should bother flashing.
The only thing you may want to flash is the new radio. Otherwise, wait for NitrogenOS to be updated rather than installing a stock ROM, as you'd gain nothing from installing the stock ROM.
Some issues. On ATT USA. Flashed stock 7.1.1. When making calls the audio keeps dropping in and out. Almost as if I don't have a good signal. But my signal bars are almost full LTE. I even tried changing from LTE to 3G only. same call audio issues. Also when I call my voicemail, it doesn't recognize my voicemail PIN!!!!!!!
Flashed back to stock 7.0 and everything works properly again. Call audio is good and voicemail pin is recognized.
Any ideas?
Question for people who have flashed 7.1.1 already -- did you also get the Support tab in Settings? I wonder why did they add it, considering the phone is now obsolete.

I have a question, if you are going to flash this with fastboot , do you still need a modified boot image to avoid encryption?
I haven't used fastboot in a while ,any help would be appreciated since I don't want to encrypt my phone

I'm coming from a long time back (HTC rezound). I had an M8, moved to nexus 6 (1.5 years ago when Best Buy had them on sale) and regularly read the forums. It seems that encryption is always an issue with the stock roms, and any stock will overwrite what you have. I personally don't have a problem with encryption on the N6.

Just download the no encryption zip after the ROM that's her in the n6 forums and you won't encrypt
I've flashed it and seems to work apart from this... I added in the pixel 3 launcher into system and the apps shortcuts were blank. I rebooted and now the app shortcuts have gone. Any ideas?
What the advantage of the new Radio?

How to downgrade

Hello,
Firstly, I want to thank the community for all of the wonderful information and work they have done. I truly appreciate it.
But, I was wondering if there are any issues going from an android 7.1 rom to a 6.0 rom. Because, I am currently running the MIUI 8 rom that is 6.0 and I love it, I have always been a fan of MIUI. But, I would like to try out nougat and see how some of those roms run.
I have looked quite a bit for any information on this that is specific to the oneplus 2, but I can't seem to find anything. I am totally willing to jump through a bunch of hoops in order to accomplish this goal, I just need to know what these hoops are.
So, if anyone could help me out with this I would really appreciate this.
Thank you for your time and keep up with the good work everyone
MIUI is based on H2OS. I recommend having OOS 3.5.6 firmware for nougat roms. Now I'm not quite sure what the process is for going back to OOS but someone should be able to guide you through it. Then its just as simple as wiping and flashing a nougat rom.

Well, when I install a new rom, I usually wipe everything but the internal data. So, from that perspective, does it matter what rom I had installed before I performed the wipe?

No but the firmware matters, aka which modem firmware 3.5.6 or 3.1.0
I'm not sure but I think the h2os modem firmware is different to the 3.5.6 but I could be wrong
Well, I decided to perform an experiment for everyone and instead of reverting to any other rom, I just wiped like I usually do and installed the Cosmic rom. Everything seems to be working

Good for you then. But I higly recommend OOS 3.5.8 firmware as it appears to have fixed network drops for a lot of people. Again I'm not really sure how the roms will handle these fixes but it shouldn't pose any issues.

cant updgrade to 7.0 from 6.xx

hey guys long time lurker, recently my s7 edge crashed, after using default rom, i decided i wanted a custom rom anyway and picked one, installed it correctly everything was working fine for about 2 weeks. crashed, started constant boot loops, so i reinstalled the rom as before, and still constant boot loops.
then i found official roms and put them on instead, anything 7+ didnt work, but when i put on 6.xx it would work, but using samsungs inbuilt to upgrade it would begin to bootloop again.
any help appreciated!

Did you try flashing 7.0 rom with the same baseband version of your phone?
Tried many of the available roms. Found one that is working and I will stick with it for now. Still would like to figure out what I did wrong though, and why I can't flash stock 7.xx

I agree with the setting change, you could also try manually updating your APN.
I am curious on why you are using a much older Rom? If you migrated to an up to date Oreo build of Lineage, AEX, AICP, or AOSIP, you would unlikely experience any issue.
If you want the best 6.01 rom i highly recommend aopk.
Sent from my SM-A730F using xda premium
You were correct, new ROMs work, I just usually prefer cm over other ROMs...
Anyway to get xposed to work on an 8.1 ROM?
No luck installing magisk or xposed...
Edit: used xposed 3.1.1
Thanks for all your guys work on this phone, stock ROM kinda blows lol
