Does your device have an unlocked bootloader? It would answer your question.

Does the H915 have an unlocked bootloader? I can't see any evidence that it does. If not, that's why there aren't any ROMs.
It's considered bad manners to ask for ETAs for development.
You'd have to check at the G5 forum to find out about that phone.

I would have never guessed that!
Dude what do you need a rom for on the V20? Is there something in particular you see in any of the few roms out for the V20 right now that you think you're missing?
Should have bought a nexus if you wanted lots of development. I don't care about having root or roms on this phone. It has great features that I'm enjoying quite nicely.

I don't know if you've been to the development section of this forum or not, but if you'd notice, all of the ROMs that are available for the H918 are simply variants of the stock ROM. And if the V10's example carries over to the V20, the second screen will make ASOP ROMs difficult to develop.
I can root my phone and frankly, I don't see anything developed to date that makes it a worthwhile endeavor. There's no Xposed yet for Nougat. About all you can do with root now is Adaway, Viper and getting the Pixel version of Assistant.
You need to be able to unlock your bootloader before you can worry about ROMs. Your phone ain't there.

I'm sorry. He's got all of nine posts and he shot most of that wad here.
I dunno about you. I've been at this for about eight years now. Back in the day, all of that kinda mattered. But today, as then, most custom ROMs will give you more headaches than any benefit you might think you'll see. You can customize a whole lot better with stuff out of the Play Store.

how about double tap to sleep/wake screen on third party launchers like pixel launcher
thats about the only mod id like to see lol outside of custom recovery on my vzw lg v20
other than that an extreme syndicate rom with all LG removed and abase google experience with a ROM the size of ~300mb (Extreme Syndicate) would be first on LG and I make my roms the leanest meanest any phone can ever see lol
Ppl use xtrestolite on samsung but even that rom was more mb than my rom.. mine is the lightest Samsung rom there was (of course xtrestolite was my inspiration but they took the "extreme" name from me)
i cant wait until hopefully we get a BL unlock for non tmo devices.. i remove the most non sense crap but pack in the most used mods in my roms.. once my rom is set i plan to theme it.. geared towards extreme syndicate style (venom inspired black and white battery saving master theme lol)
once i have a unlocked BL (were working on it) I hope we can work together as I'd rather not spend time on theming as much as I want to spend time ROMing..
You're themes are awesome, i love the red n black but Venom I hope once things are going we can make a one of a kind ROM and custome THEME only available on Extreme Syndicate

I won't begin to deny that theming and ROMing aren't a good thing... for some people. Those "some people" would be those who have at least a curiosity as to how their phones work, those that can follow basic directions and those willing to live with the glitches caused by the marriage of features from different hardware platforms without the proper software support.
Often these issues work themselves out. But end consumers often forget that the developers here aren't full time, that they're juggling a hobby that hardly pays for a six pack of beer with family, jobs, and other commitments.
Nor would I discourage someone from trying. But I would be remiss if I didn't point out that the learning curve is fairly steep, and that there will be hours and hours of aggravation and the occasional moments of sheer terror when you think you just f'd up a $1000 phone... all for the payoff of a device that may not work as well as it did before you started messing with it.

A Plea For Sanity: Samsung ICS Roms

I'd like to begin this rant with a disclaimer.
I am not an Android developer, or a Linux enthusiast, or an expert of any kind. All I am is a keen Android user (Since the HTC Desire) who loves customising my phone.
I am EXTREMELY grateful for all the hard work of the people who know more than I do (Developers, Rom chefs, etc) and I mean them no offense.
They are the ones who make buying an Android phone worthwhile, and this community relies on them.
Now, here it is: Why, Why, Why, can't we have a custom rom with the stock Samsung look?
There are some excellent custom roms out there, offering reduced size, performance improvements, improved customisation ability: The likes of RocketRom, MidTeam, Criskelo, and so on.
But every single one of them has a mismatched, ugly, patchwork of a theme, with elements of AOSP ICS, Galaxy S3, and god knows what else.
Many of them slap a black and blue status bar ontop of the Samsung framework, which clashes and looks horrible.
MidTeam used to have a zip file to restore the stock theme, which was great, (Thanks Maxicet!) but this has been dropped from the current version.
Please, I beg you, developers:
Please give us an option to keep the stock Samsung look on our ICS roms.
Or if you are going to do a theme for your rom, at least make it consistent, like the Galaxy SIII look.
Leave the theming to the people that know aesthetics, and keep doing what you do best: Making great Android roms.
Thankyou very much
+1
A stock custom rom would be great! Some ROMs have those elements that I really don't like (for example an ugly statusbar).
But wrong section dude

Stock samsung UI is ****, but I also hate clock on the center, like on Criskelo ICS ROM. I prefer stock android style UI. This option must be at all ROMs, and official stock too.
place a request for checkrom developer

there is StockLook Theme for Rocket ROM also....just the bettery icon is customized and of course the 15 toggle (but also in Stocklook)....and:
with really MINOR knowledge everyone can build a complete stocklook with NO theming modifications at all!!!!!!!! If you are not able to do yourself, start a request in theming section - this is 5 minute work to do complete stocklook
if i might just make a quick statement,
the rom by the devs were designed to the way they want it. not to how the public wants it. it was made specifically for themselves for their own usage but were kind enough to share their work for us here on xda.
for us to use.
u can put in some requests on how the theming or looks should be done, and it would be entirely up to them if they want to attend to those requests or not.
i'm no developer and hence i cant complain what i didnt pay for but instead got it for free.
they could've easily exercise the option of "if u dun like it, dun use it".
Cassies xlr rom is stock look
But in all fairness if you dont see summin you like.
Spend 5 hours reading on google and build your own. As eyebee said its not that hard to do and very satisyfying

I don't agree with you. This is manufactors, who don't care about customers and their opinion. ROM developers making ROMs first of all for us, not for money. We can donate them if we like their work and can ask to add/change something in the ROM. Too bad we can't do the same for manufactors.

Rom cooks make the ROMs for themselves (at least me and most of the other ones i know)...but they like to share their work and of course you are welcome to ask for additional features inside the threads - and not open an extra one.....
ya bro the keyword here is donate. not sell.
if the rom devs were like manufacturers, they'd sell it to u for a fee. but in this case, the rom devs willingly share their hardwork to you without asking for a single cent. the donation part is totally optional.
there is no legal contract binding here. and i will say it again, rom devs do not make roms for us. they make it for themselves but are very much willing to share it with us.
This thread is totally out of place and mind. Reported.

[Q] What is rasbeanjelly?

I googled for a bit and found a few screenshots here and there..and this is the closest I've found to a definition
This is not cyanogenmod. Everything is hand codes by rascarlo and not cherry picked like jelly bro. Means instead of getting the code for all the phones cm supports you get only the necessary code. Its a real bare bones ROM. Its only for a select few and an acquired taste.

All ROMs are free. Just flash it and try out the ROM. It's not like once you flash a ROM you can't go back.
Make a nandroid backup, flash ROM + gapps, try it.
Don't like it? Nandroid restore from your backup and it'll feel like you just time traveled.

I think rasbeanjelly is far less modified than CM. It is VERY quick and stable. Not everyone wants all those extras. If you're curious, make a nandroid and flash the ROM.

Rasbeanjelly is a very niche Rom that is heavily themed and customized by Rascarlo to HIS liking. It is very fast, very stable, but also not as customizeable as CM or AOKP. If you like the theme and the way it comes configured it is an extremely nice Rom. However, if you like to tweak every aspect and have tons of goodies you wont like it.....oh, and the blue everywhere takes some getting used to also.

not really. there's a time commitment in going to the trouble to start down the custom ROM path with any phone. i konw this..been doing ROM updates on here since my old SDA.
i just want to know what it is..things like paranoid are NOT just ROMs..they're completely different way of approaching your phone and it would be stupid to flash if you didnt have a basic understanding of what is going on there.
i admit to being a thicky whale omelet, but it took me about an hour of reading before it finally clicked what paranoid did for you.

Then dont juggle between those 3 phones. Its obvious that N4 is the most superior one out of the three. You don't have to keep up with anything. A dev forum is like a shopping guide. You just don't know how to distinguish what makes that ROM popular, just read the features / search on youtube.
They're FREE roms.. just flash and experiment. It's not that difficult. Rasbeanjelly is a minimalistic ROM skinned to be all black.

You don't have to commit anything for a ROM. You just look at it, if it impresses you. Read the last couple pages for user feedback. Still like it? Flash it.
Don't like it? Nandroid restore back to what you were using before.
Go watch a youtube video. People do videos on these ROMs. Basic understanding of what? A lot of roms are identical and "kang" features off of each other and give credit where its due. Even what YOU quoted says that.

Flashing ROMs on other peoples' phone is a huge nono. It puts a responsibility on yourself.
You don't have to update their ROM everyday. They're not "phone nerds" and want their phone to be flashed new ROMs. Some people just want a phone that works out of the box. Not to mention, development for those phones aren't as huge as Nexus devices. myTouch brand has been declining.
the kids got the phones off ebay at christmas; they're capable little devices but i needed to remove the TMOBILE bloat first to make them usable.
the HD2 was retired with cracked glass for ages until i saw the android forum, dusted it off and put JB on it. it was so wonderful i had a guy in town put a new piece of glass on it and she's been loving it ever since.
i don't update their roms all the time; but the point was i have been all over the boards on here getting everyone's phone up and going and can't keep up with it all.
would you disagree i should have left those other phones alone?

You don't need a ROM to remove T-Mobile bloatware. All you need is root access. Development on those devices are vary limited and its hardware is starting to show its age to the point where newer ROMs with newer Android versions actually slow down the phone and a lot of 'hacks' are done to have that particular Android version because HTC/Huawei abandoned support for the phone.
HD2: You kind of went off-topic as my point is that you don't have to maintain all of their devices and keep flashing stuff for them. I'm sure they just want a phone that works and they don't care what Android version is on their phone. Most of the people I know in person don't really care unless they're tech savvy.
In the end to answer your question, Rasbeanjelly is a ROM.
Each ROM has their own features and the developer can choose to implement whichever features they want in their ROM. Some ROMs are minimal, feature-heavy, clean code, themed, 'kangs' (unofficial releases based off their source) with 'cherry picks' (stuff that isnt in their ROM but included their commits that are pending approval or stuff that just simply works)

You'd think for the first 100% Google phone, there'd be more ROMs, whether it be ports or from scratch. Hell, even Cyanogen has neglected it. We have to nag people like dhacker, and the just doesn't seem fair.
Don't get me wrong, I love the ones available but we crack-flashers need just a tad more selection, can I get an AMEN?

Already using GravityBox. Just updated to 2.8.1 today. I'm just thinking even tweaks to stock. Kinda like Eclipse. And, yeah, kernel tweaks would be great, too.
I agree a kernel would be amazing. Someone should start a bounty thread.
ROMs and kernels are less of a necessity when the stock software is good.

I plan on leaving 4.2.2 alone. My phone is perfect. Lag free. Great battery. And adobe flash works great. I use xposed, so it's just like being on a custom rom in the end. Yes, boot loader is unlocked and I'm rooted.
I see no reason to change it at all..... Aside from being a flashaholic that just can't resist the latest version and custom roms.
Not me.... Unless something amazing comes along in an updated version..... I'm leaving this thing right where it is.

What's the allure about G3 roms?

I'd like to ask everyone's opinions regarding the G3 roms that are becoming available (CloudyG3, OptimusG3, etc). I'm currently using Pardus 7.4, and have tried a few of the G3 roms. But, I keep coming back to Pardus. Maybe I'm missing something? What is the fascination with the G3 roms?
Few ?
There are only 2 ported g3 roms.

The G3 roms do have some cool new features and a unique UI and they are maintained by great Devs. that will continue to improve them until they are on par with the other current KK roms. And as a ported rom, it takes time to get everything working smoothly. KK felt a little clunky coming from a JB rom that had been constantly updated and optimized but then the KK roms kept evolving too and now I'm very satisfied.
BUT, with that being said, you'll start to notice that a lot of people on XDA just want the 'newest' everything... As soon as something comes out it becomes the thing everyone wants and if they can't have it right away they ask and ask.. When "Android L" is released in any form for any device you will see a flood of posts of why LG sucks because we didn't get the update the very hour it was released.

Few ?
There are only 2 ported g3 roms.
People like what people like , so simple.

Lao Haong (spelling?) has a G3 port also.
LG have redone the gui and it's rather good.

That I don't know. I don't see it on xda - I think it's just the theme and launcher. (don't take my word for granted)

Infamous rom!

Just wanted to share that we have an Infamous rom to play with over in infamous forums. It's based off NJ7. Haven't tried it yet, but here is the thread. MOD EDIT: REMOVED, no links requiring registration allowed
Awesome, can't wait to flash
Gonna test ...
IMO when I see all this roms out right now and I see the features is basically the same thing all the other roms have.
In time things will move away from stock. Don't see the point of that til 5.0 drops.
BAD ASS NOTE 4

How did you know that I was coming here to this thread to post the exact same
thing you have just posted?
There are 4 Note 4 N910T roms in the Tmobile Note 4 N910T forum right now
and all of them are 99% exactly a like with hardly any differences, but the devs
are just getting started, don't be impatient...
Some of the roms have more play store apps added to them than the others. LOL
P.s. don't tell anyone that I wrote this post!

You are a trip sometimes lmao
Also to add on to that, some claim to have battery tweak and some may be more stable (from your perspective) Matter of finding out which stock work best for you! I know one of them doesn't like my phone so much lol

Firstly, jovy23's rom should be best for everyone at least for the time being, it's
almost the only one except for the Infamous rom (which is not available here in xda) that
does not rely on expose and it's modules to modify or to do anything to the rom.
I see more and more users are having issues with xpose and it's modules.
The expose framework & it's modules are not fully compatible with the Note 3 and
it's Android 4.4.2 operating system so how can anyone expect it to work properly
and be fully compatible with the N910T and it's 4.4.4 operating system I don't know.
The more mods and features that the developers will be adding to their roms the
more xpose & it's modules will be causing issues and will not be playing nicely.
The xpose framework & wanam will need to have a major update so all the features
and options in them work properly without breaking other parts of the phone.
Just my thoughts.............
I agree I am still running stock with some tips and trick found here and there some posted by @mgbotoe and is running smooths and fast and now my battery seems to have settle and I am averaging a full 24hrs+ with 5hr screen time which is fine for me.
I am not going to jump ship until lollipop comes out.
I don;t know if you know the reasons - but can you shed any light on why Infamous decided not to create their own thread on XDA?
I am not questioning their right to post their rom wherever they want - but I just curious why they are not doing anything here -? My reccollection is that they used to be all over XDA - I really am just curious if you happen to know...?

I would imagine they will once they get out of alpha stage in development. Too much can go wrong so early and it's a nightmare with people who don't know ow what they are doing who decide to flash

You know, I never even thought about that - makes perfect sense. I guess if I had used my brain (what little of one I have) I could have figured that out by myself - LOL - thanks

corwest is completely correct. They want to wait till it's more polished.

Im not sure but I would guess perhaps got tired of certain people acting dumb in xda and stuff and started their own.

that is completely believable -
As a member of the team, I can say one or maybe both of those reasonings are right. Who knows! But happy flashing
Ive flashed both Infamous and Hyperdive roms. Nothing more or less than anything else out at this time. I restored back to Dynamic Kat until Devs start getting more features.
I believe once sbreen gets the Note 4 and can bring all of the Note 3 tweaks over here, that will be the rom to beat for sure. Just My Opinion.
Update is live go get it guys.
nice to see them here now we just need tweaked !
is there a link handy i dont really want to join another site to download
